Let us drop this matter, the buyer has narrated his side of the story.

I bought a Nigerian Used Car and My Mechanic didn't help me negotiate price.

He did suggest a price because I was buying a car for the first time and he his like a family to us.

He (My Mechanic) did inspection for me on 3 Toyota Corolla. The first one, he told me I am going to fix this and that. He didn't tell me to buy or not to buy.

When he give me his professional advice, I seek counsel of people who have experience aside what the mechanic told me and I opt against buying the Corolla despite the fact that the seller is a known person to me.

I called him again for another physical inspection and he told me "No Go Area". I could have go ahead to buy the car because the price was cheap but I listened.

The third physical inspection which is the Corolla I finally bought, he did his physical inspection and I was advised me.

It isn't a mechanic's job to negotiate or help you price a car, a mechanic job is to do a comprehensive physical inspection and advise you on the state of health the car is as at the time he inspected.

Did the mechanic advice your friend about issues observed during inspection, you answered "YES".

He (Gazzuzz) has done his job, he was consulted to inspect the car not negotiate price.

Although I am not pleased with the way Gazzuzz has handled this situation on this thread, but did he did his job, YES, HE DID.

Please allow Scott to enjoy his peace. If you and Gaz want to continue dragging matters, leave the Scott situation out if it.

We don't need too much distraction in the beginning of a new year, let us focus on the main objective of this thread.

I would suggest, you guys create a new thread and battle it out there.

My verdict.

vulpeslopez is a guy with a good heart. He has moved on, and learnt his lesson and he has forgiving Gazzuzz and Carshopper.

This issue happen over a year ago, so scot has sold the car loosing 200k plus, and he also find a better a job.
So coming here to say more will damage Gazzuzz reputation, and someone with a good heart won't try such.

But that does not mean Gazzuzz didn't take advantage of scot.

Scot, there are type of people who will come closer to you when you have $. They will be so nice to you, but they will wreck you. Gazzuzz actually wrecked you tactically. You will only know this when you are a full grown man and stop asslicking

With 850k you spent for that problematic Kia rio, you would have gotten something better. If he was real to you.

I know is your decision to buy that car, but something was said that make you proceed with that purchase. Like gear is 25k Bla Bla Bla.

The worst thing that will happen to car is gear and engine, so why pay 20k to go detect the worst, you would have just go ahead and take risk.

I understand damage control is very important for online business.

But the truth is so glaring.

there's this camry 2005, very clean but the gear box is the problem.

Just low oil pressure on cold startup, then. Gazzuzz pretty much has the gist of it. Since it's a short knock, you won't be dealing with much extensive damage over time. Live with it or rebuild.

If it ever becomes more severe, rebuild immediately.

Happy new year folks...

I recently did oil change for my a car,its a Toyota camry 2010 2.5L engine.Due to how busy i was during the service i didnt supervise.


I was driving days later when i saw oil lamp sign flashing on the dash board,i quickly pulled over and called my regular mechanic who inspected and discovered that the oil filter used was virtually disintegrated since it was small and was not appropriate hence blocking the flow of oil.

The filter was replaced with the right one and the flashing stopped.However,next day on cold start up i heard this rattling sound coming from the engine for like 2/3 seconds.Although car drives normal with no other issues.

How can it be fixed and what effect does it have on the engine?

NB:Sound only comes up on cold start.

LONG STORY so I bought a 09 Kia Rio for 830k,MR Gazzuz job was to inspect the car,which he did....as at when I bought it,getting a Virgin was easier than getting a Kia Rio,i paid for it and like every Nigerian used car the wahala started....the truth is I fixed the car but had to live Lagos becos I had an uncle who came into the country and offered me a job so I relocated to Abuja....the car was packed in my house for 2months before I made up my mind to sell it....i sold the car for 620k to a guy I meet on this forum....I had forgotten about it until today.....Truth is I made a decision to buy that car,it was solely my decision.....No Regrets just Lesson

this issue came up with a Toyota Corolla 2012 model with 3zr engine.... the car was brought for repair and the mechanics found out that the valves were badly bent to extent some valves weren’t able to come out. They replaced the cylinder head with Tokumbor that came with valves... after installing it, they setted the timing they started the engine and there was this growling noise when they depress the accelerator pedal and they noticed 3&4 wasn’t firing properly... they looses it again and regrinded the valve cox the valves on cyl 3&4 wasn’t sitting properly... After that they called another another mechanic to help set the timing chain, the guy did set it (dunno if it was correct or not tho) but after setting it the car sounded much Berra at a start the mechanics drove it for 20mins car was fine.. customer took car home and found out it doesn’t accelerate even when you depress d pedal all the way to the ground ( won’t exceed 0-25mph)... Chief gazzzuzz could this be caused by wrong timing? Car has a rattling sounds now ... The mechanic is telling the customer that he has to cut the crankshaft , I wasn’t comfortable when I had that suggestion Tho I don’t know if they cut crankshaft or not but I know something isn’t right with that suggestion....

I think some people here have personal beef with Gazzuzz. However, I do not support the direct insult Gazzuzz made on this forum and we should guide our words. We are matured men here and most of us are family men. Please let's settle this case and move on.
