pardon my ignorance, the engine looks like a civic engine. was there a transplant?

Gazzuzz
one of the reasons for the price crash. Engine is not available in the American market.

Once it gets bad, engine is 70per current value of the car.

I am not sure why Nigerians are mostly only focusing on APC and PDP candidates. We have young viable men who are far more competent than these old men also contesting for presidential position and untill we start clamouring for these young men to take the mantle of leadership, Nigeria could remain stagnant
Realistically they are the only 2 parties that stand a chance in this Game

Sir, Gazzuzz, you are a blessing indeed, I appreciate other experienced car techs in the house, pls, could u give us some examples of mineral lubrication oils that will be effective as per cars?
e.g, I use a Honda accord 2005 model, I am.presently bringing it back to factory order, but skeptical about the lubrication oil to use, something within was actually telling me not to use d manufacturer's recommended oil

Second question sir, what if the oil strainer is cleaned out and sludge removed from the engine, will it be able to accommodate d manufacturer's recommended lubricating oil?

Third question sir, forgive me of my inquisitive nature, will it be wise to flush d engine to get rid of sludge?
.kcbaba007 Got axed By anti-spambot in cartalk.

You have a lot of questions so let's break them down in bits.

.mineral lubrication oils that will be effective as per cars?
The choice to use full synthetic oils to me is mainly logical, and economical. They provide better protection over longer mileages which reduces the cost of labour and filters and time.

.e.g, I use a Honda accord 2005 model, I am.presently bringing it back to factory order, but skeptical about the lubrication oil to use, something within was actually telling me not to use d manufacturer's recommended oil
Manufacturer specification for most Recent Honda are 5w20/0w20 very thin oil, if engine has been using 20w50 for a long time, it would have worn out oil control rings, if oil changes where extended engine would have sludge, a combination of those conditions will cause engine to burn oil unless engine is stripped and relevant parts replaced.

. Second question sir, what if the oil strainer is cleaned out and sludge removed from the engine, will it be able to accommodate d manufacturer's recommended lubricating oil?
I am uncertain what the outcome would be, what engine oil grade does engine use currently? Does it shout oil?

. Third question sir, forgive me of my inquisitive nature, will it be wise to flush d engine to get rid of sludge?
[color=#000099]There have been known cases where this causes smoking and loss in engine compression. Only do this if you are financially ready for an engine rebuild/replacement.

Hello Gazzuzz, I have this issue with my 206.
The car overheats only at idle. It cools down as the car moves but once I hit traffic or stop the car without switching off the engine, Bang! It starts to overheat. The mecho already removed thermostat thinking it's thermostat issue but overheating persisted. I will re-install the thermostat tomorrow though. The fan is working.
Pls what can be done to solve the issue. Thanks
Faulty Waterpump. recheck the direction of airflow from the Fan

Please house, I am scouting for a car to use for uber. 2005 camry is what i have eyes on for now,

Are there any specifics to look out for?
Does uber check mileage?
I understand the ride has to be clean but should I be thinking of body work even if its a few minor cosmetic scratches?
other things like sounds, smoke, etc...

This particular one i found drives pretty smooth
Though I had a mechanic with me that said it was fine, just asking nonetheless what to have eyes on.

One can never be too careful with Nigerian used vehicles...
2.4liter engine and a 13pin gearbox..... Good luck sir.

Are you Driving a Corrola?

Ensure the following.

1. Ensure your custom duty is original, if not you might loose your car.

2. Ensure you know the person, so your car is not snatched.

25k is fine, you will not get a trip back.

I support this.. the drivers are dubious and fail to use good opportunities on a rental car.. I drive mine after hearing lots of complains and regret from friends who gave their car to drivers .

I made over 100k in three weekends, my very first month as a newbie... only drove weekends fri-sun. Makes me wonder why drivers on full time can't make more than enough for themselves and pay up the 30-35k commitment without excuses. It's just not fair. If I would drop my car for 30k a week I expect the driver to make good use of the opportunity and meet their goals while keeping to their end of the agreement.
E-hailing was never designed for Vehicle Rental It just evolved here in naija. Humans are not perfect, after a while you will Get used to their imperfections.

Gazzuzz and other car tech gurus in the house, I appreciate your eye opening works here, I HV been greatly oriented, in fact, I have been taking notes, anyways, gazzuz, you have not answered my query on the other thread " when it's time to return to factory specs" your answers will be a big enlightenment to people that eventually bought naija used cars and a caution for people with toks cars. Auntie Radu, I love ur guts, for a woman in a highly male dominated field... It is challenging. Kudos

Thanxz, meanwhile, I am about to get a cheap Nigerian used Yaris with the intention of changing its engine. I want to use it for uber. Is this a great idea?

And advice, opinion or suggestions?
Buying a Nigerian used car with the intention of fixing it for use brings us back to the days of ogunvic41. If you are not a mechanic, please do not go this route, you will get frustrated mid way.

buy a Good car in good condition, avoid all those 500/600k cars, they are mostly crap.

An abused car is harder to fix.

Truth is I gave Oga very short notice. I had forgotten I was Lagos bound and actually called him on my way to the airport! Graciously, he obliged my request. Game on!

Got to the workshop at about 2pm and met the man. All work bays were occupied with some vehicles outside. Gazz was fixing one part that I had never seen; just under the steering wheel airbag . Abeg Gazzuzz what's the name again?
Clock spring aka Horn control in ladipo. It was installed in a 2008 hyundai santafe to fix the airbag warning light.
