Car Talk › Re: I Almost "Stole" A Car by GAZZUZZ(m): 1:25pm On Oct 09, 2016 |
LadyMercedes: So yesterday, I was at a market in Surulere. I parked my car (a Honda Accord Baby Boy) beside a church and went to get a few things.
When I was done, I went over to the spot where I thought I parked. At that moment, a 2012 Silver Audi TT (my dream car ) passed. I was staring at it while I opened the door of my car. After it was out of sight, having opened the door, I reached below the seat to unlock the truck. That was when I noticed the grey rubber carpets, and the leather seats.
I started wondering how my brown fabric seats had magically turned to grey leather. That was when I realised I opened the WRONG car. It was the same colour as mine, same alloy rims, same type of spoiler on the trunk.
I quickly locked it, and searched for mine. It was 2 cars in front. In this Buhari economy, no one will hear "it was a mistake". Thank goodness I have an innocent face, it wasn't so difficult to convince the owner of the car that it was an honest mistake. He laughed it off when he saw the two cars, and told me to be more observant next time.
I quickly went over to it, dropped all the things I got into the trunk, and sped off.
I was actually surprised the key could open the door of another car. That's just crazy. When I got home, I used the same key to open the door of a Honda Civic. That's bullsh*t!
Shouldn't each car key be different for every car, irrespective of the make? You can't experience such with German cars! No wonder they keep yabbing Honda cars. Oh so it was you!! Diportivo. Where you de see the pesin wey been wan move ya car. |
Car Talk › Re: CRUISE CONTROL; Saves Or Uses More Fuel? by GAZZUZZ(m): 1:05pm On Oct 09, 2016 |
Kjnwancaro: It's weird to see that your average speed is around 180 on Nigerian road but anyhow does it mean that using the cruise control on lower speed like 40-80 will also save fuel? It will not activate at 40km/hr on most cars iv used. I believe it starts from 60km/hr |

Car Talk › Re: CRUISE CONTROL; Saves Or Uses More Fuel? by GAZZUZZ(m): 6:57am On Oct 09, 2016 |
Kjnwancaro: I was wondering if the cruise control will save my fuel, read some post online and the results were really contradicting so I want the gurus in the house to shed some light on this please. depends on the set speed.
Set to 100-120km/hr on a good smooth road fine you will get very good MPG.
But if you are mischievous like me and set it to 180km/hr on asaba-ore highway, the car will continue downshifting on the slightest obstacle to keep up with the set speed very bad for engine/mpg |

bizzle2: First Car Choice
Please EPPPP!!!!
This is my first thread in this section, I’m a complete automobile newbie in the middle of making a very critical buying decision. I need the help of the astute members of this section in making the perfect choice of Car Brand , Model and Year that would be best suited for my needs & within my budget .I’ll be spending a sizeable chunk of my savings on this so I need to get it RIGHT the first Time, I ABSOLUTELY do not have the luxury of trial. -Car will be used primarily for intercity commuting -The roads in my locality are bad so I’m thinking in the line of good ground clearance (most likely a small SUV) -Reasonable maintenance cost and fuel economy, pleasurable drive, durability, good handling are of course a necessity.
Here are my own thoughts on some considered options: Golf 5 ( afraid of ground clearance and how it would fare on bad roads) Peugeot 206 ( same as above) BMW 3 or 5 series (afraid of ground clearance and cost of parts/maintenance ; fuel economy not really a concern) RAV 4 2002/2003 ( I generally like European cars, but not sure how durable the japs are and how well they handle) Lexus Rx 300 ( Same as above ) Interested in very sound registered vehicles .Budget is 850k for SUV and 600k for sedan. can adjust depending on condition of vehicle. PLEASE ADVISE !!!! I NO SABI NAFFIN FOR THIS CAR MATTER

MightyThor: I agree that it is being abused, however one way to prove your innocent is by providing evidence. I was watching a documentary on road accidents and insurance claims and one good idea I picked up is to install DashCam (Dash board camera that records everything in front of your car both audio and video) with this you can provide evidence if your wrongly accused of rear collision.
Another good reason for the dashcam is for those boys in black (Police) if they start making silly demands on the highway. I use a small motion detection HD spy cam, works wonders. Since it is motion detection activated it also serves as my security cam when I'm not in the car. Iv used it to catch a street thief before
It comes with sticky tape.

nams77: Good morning chairmen in the house. Pls I will like you to kindly help me select the best wagon that will be suitable for a side business. In this buhari era, one needs to diversify stream of income.I intend using it to haul farm produce/aluminum window frames e.t.c.. The parameters to consider includes ruggedness, fuel efficiency, affordable parts, good suspension and superb road handling. I am looking at these 3 cars: avensis 1999 wagon, c class benz w202 and a golf 3 wagon/passat. Other contributions are welcomed. Please car gurus, help a brother out. Thank you for your anticipated response. IV got 2 wagons for sale. A toyota avensis 1999 and a peugeot 406. Both cars are in great working condition and are in lagos. I can give the peugeot out at a give away price (manual drive) because I hardly use it and is just occupying space on my street. The avensis on the other hand is my daily use vehicle. I will not post my prices here, if you want more info contact me on 08033910382 |

PaperLace: lol. It is actually abused, but it all depends_ there is how it would play out and the person would most definitely be at fault. *People that jump into the road/lane without looking. *Those ones that step on their brakes like say bomb dey inside their head... etc
By the way, why is it that all the men that hit my car always tell me to call my husband, say them one discuss man to man...is my husband a panel-beater? who can know? |
