PoliticsRe: Why Nigerian Elites Don't Want Buhari As President- Osita Okechukwu. by Gbawe: 9:06am On Sep 25, 2014
The bottom line is that a rabbit should never view itself a Tiger. Nigerians should recognise where our Nation is developmentally, despite the "giant of Africa" tag, to understand sort of person we need as President. Buhari would be a good President because of his innate character and qualities which will lead him to address the real and fundamental problems of Nigeria today impeding our progress.

Buhari is an austere man with no interest in behind-the-scene self-enrichment. He would therefore have no interest in continuing decade-long 419 whereby Nigerian Presidents are nothing but 'fronts' used by a cabal to keep looting and bleeding our Nation. As one example, you cannot advise a president Buhari, as Ribadu did for GEJ, that Nigeria must stop selling her crude endowment through traders, as the only major exporter of crude in the world doing so, since this practice abets monumental theft and corruption against Nigeria, only to then see Buhari shred the report and carry on with a 'business-as-usual' practice enriching a small elite class as the entire world saw to be the case with GEJ.

Those who genuinely understand the specific problems keeping Nigeria down will see why Buhari is a good fit and why those determined to keep Nigeria underdeveloped, for their own myopic and parochial gains, vehemently oppose and demonize Buhari. Of course the ultra-corrupt and callous Nigerian system adores GEJ because he is a 'kindred spirit' who lets everyone do as they please to the detriment of Nigeria. For all his faults, this will never be the case under Buhari.

@Topic.

Perhaps Tinubu is not so "irreverent" after many piously shouted that Tinubu "insulted" Yoruba Obas. If this revelation is true then some of them, for their treacherous conduct, indeed only deserve condemnation and nothing else.

It will be recalled that former Lagos State Governor and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Alhaji Bola Tinubu had during the 80th birthday of the Awujale last May took a swipe at Yoruba Obas saying that most of them soiled their hands during Abacha’s regime.

tatiana009: Wow shocked it's crazy the kind of evil agendas some people have on this forum. By the way I'm a lady
Apologies Madam. My bad.

As per Aljbokoharem, the chap is scary. How can one single person claim to belong to every Nigerian ethnic group if not operating with ulterior motives and a nefarious agenda? Dude is an agent of chaos and disharmony.

tatiana009: Lol but he claims to be from the north, the guy is a clown . He can't even keep his stories straight grin
Bro, he has claimed to belong to every single ethnic group in Nigeria since his time here. His divisive ways, seeing him always wanting to set ethnic groups against each other, makes me conclude he is not Nigerian. He simply adopts an ethnic identity as he goes along and as suits the agenda he is pursuing at the time. Aljharem is from Chad or Cameroon with a Maitatsine-style modus operandi.

Steadmann: Overserious dey worry me.

Now I'm hustling and making papers, by the time I make enough papers I'm going to resign. I don't have to work till I grow old.

Then, I shall devout my time and resources to Issuing Visas To The Saboteurs.

I'm going to start with our PastorPreneurs.

Those Bastardds do whatever they like as if Nigeria is a lawless country. They commit great attrocities on a daily basis yet they mount the altar to preach.

They are all going to pay.

God punish them all.

They've All Failed The City.
Thank you. I despise them immensely also. Whether it is Oyakhilome, TB Joshua, Oyedepo or Jimmy Swaggart, I consider them to all be conmen who rob in the name of religion. They need to be tackled by all men and women in society who simply wish to side with what is right and reject what is wrong.

In Nigeria however, everything will be tainted with ethnicity and hypocrisy. Rather than see the whole Pastorpreneur scam as something condemnable and afflicting the entire world, some backward caveman will postulate it is a problem typical and indicative of one ethnic group alone. That is what I resent.

Steadmann: We dubbed him Bank-Ole. We bash Daniel and his fellow thieves on a regular basis. Everyone knows we don't support our own when he or she errs. Yorubas bash Obasanjo more than every other tribe.

As far as we are concerned,

If you do well, we'll praise you. If you err, we'll bash you very well.

I think some people are only using the opportunity to bash us, yet nothing do us. The useless Oba(Oba of Lagos for that matter oooooo) caused the whole confusion.

Someone above me said "If The Oba Could Condemn His Fellow Obas In The Presence of SLS A Northerner, What Does He Except SLS To Say About Us".

Some of our people no dey try, e dey pain me.
Thank you. This is my opinion too. No need to politicise or ethnicize the actions of one person or a few individuals. Most Yorubas will not be found embracing bias and prejudice to support blatantly obvious wrongdoing even if it is their own son guilty of such. Nonetheless, we all know this is the sort of thread some ethnocentric and anti-Yoruba bigots will descend on to begin peddling their nauseatingly prejudiced views. Many Nigerians, because of an innately prejudiced nature, love to fool themselves "others are the problem" when all the negative attributes of mankind thrives very well in all Nigerians from all corners and all ethnic groups of our nation.,

Go back to my first response (see below) to this thread to see that I addressed how someone predicted my opinion before I was even allowed to give one.

Bobo yi, kilode? Wetin I do you ? Why always mentioning Gbawe negatively? Do you even know my opinion about this matter before giving me one by force? "Issokay".
At the end of the day,my opinion is that majority of Nigerian politicians are corrupt. Traditional rulers and religious leaders may be corrupt and warped also. It is left to us to look at individuals and their specific actions rather than begin to make generalisation based on ethnicity and the conduct of individuals.

YOU JUST EXHIBITED ONE OF ANOTHER FLAWS OF THE YORUBA'S - HYPOCRISY
Grade A caveman, what illustrates your backward mind more than all the ugly and prejudiced conclusions you are making here? Hypocrisy is common to all men whether Chinese, Black, white, Hausa or Yoruba. Yet it is only an underdeveloped mind like yours that will argue that an entire ethic group is defined by a singular negative characteristic common to humanity.

It shows you are operating from a base grounded in prejudice. This is why I will continue to tell people like you to mind your own business. You have nil objectivity towards others and can only contribute negativity when talking about them so why don't you then spare everyone your jaundiced and prejudiced opinion by keeping such to yourself?

Exactly. How many Yorubas celebrate and blindly worship Dimeji Bankole, Gbenga Daniel et al for non-Yorubas to then begin saying the actions of those sort represent the characters of all Yoruba people?

Mumu, With your input here, is it not obvious you are the one keen to face the problems of others on their behalf? No ethnic group in Nigeria faces its problem more than the Yorubas while uninvited guest like you join in to be talking ignorantly . Why not mind your own business? If a Yoruba Oba is misbehaving, how is that your problem to the extent you have to comment here to be delivering prejudiced and discriminatory opinion about an entire ethnic group based on the action of one person or a few individuals? You are the person in trouble mate in so far as the malevolent obsession you host for others is totally one way. That flaw will keep hurting you till you begin to mind your own business.

DidierKing: I don't mean to undermine the race.

But the greatest problems with the race is denial, hypocrisy, betrayal and cowardice. All these due to deep rooted tribalism and neopotism.

In 2011, when Mustapha revealed that the Yoruba Leaders collected money bags and betrayed their own, all Yoruba's denied it even if they knew it was true. They thrive in denial failing to forget that "there is never any truth that can be hidden from the Sun"

The Yoruba MOD's in Nairaland go the length of banning anyone who states the obvious or anyone who presents valid facts.

When they were making these denials and cooking up fallacious statements to cover up, I told them that all that is needed was time and every secret would be blown open. See my tread below
Get the eff out of here. Why won't people like you, with major problems of your own, not be here talking prejudiced nonsense about the Yorubas when the likes of Ola6 and fake Yorubas like Aljharem give you 'ammunition' by killing their kings in public while you deify your paedophiles and ignore their wrongdoing? The problem with the Yorubas is that we are too honest and forthright in the cesspit of hypocrisy and duplicity called Nigeria. This makes us susceptible to the character assassination antics of those, like you, who have no problem operating with prejudiced double-standards.

"Tribalism and nepotism" indeed when nowhere else in Nigeria beats Yorubaland for tolerance and the provision of an environment where anyone can be whatever they want. People like you are brainwashed to never see anything good about Yoruba people anyway so it is no surprise you can claim they are most guilty of what reality shows others Nigerians are, by far, more troubled with.
PoliticsRe: Oba Of Lagos’ Bombshell: I Shared Abacha’s Bribe To Yoruba Monarchs by Gbawe:
barcanista: I have my reservations. Most of Fashola's policies were/are actually Tinubu's policies that he is implementing. I can make a list out of them. Even the Justice and economic system, I prefer Tinubu. Not putting Fashola down though because I admire and respect him. but in my opinion Tinubu is a better Administrator and politician
A lot of people are actually ignorant about the administrative brilliance and vision of Tinubu that Fashola eventually went on to gain credit for. Like you, I also admire Fashola but I rate Tinubu highly too because he was an all-rounder who overcame extreme federal government resistance to still be, for those aware of the full picture, the brain and brawn behind the success of contemporary Lagos.

Could Fashola have survived the persecution of the ultra-vengeful OBJ if he were in the shoes of Tinubu back then? I seriously doubt it. Only the analytically discerning and pragmatic Nigerians know what Tinubu truly is. Could Fashola, stride for stride and thug for thug, have matched the dedication to evil many in the PDP are irredeemably devoted to? Could Fashola have been the opposition Elliot Ness to the ruling Party's AL Capone like Tinubu was? That is why someone like the very intelligent Pat Utomi, many worshipped like a god who is "presidential material", willingly chose to join the ACN then (now APC).

Personally, I feel sorry the most for the confused Yorubas (like Ola6 - Aljharem is Chadian anyway and not even Nigerian let alone Yoruba) who are to be found always vilifying Tinubu. Tinubu, for the reality of Nigeria, is far better, more pro-people, braver and more solution-driven than those other Nigerians host and celebrate in their region(Odili, Orji Kalu, Orubebe, Ohakim, Andy and Chris Ubah, Ifeanyi Ubah, Ibori, Anenih, IBB, Danjuma, Ciroma, Yakassai,David Mark et al) only to then be hypocritically attacking Tinubu everyday as if he is the only politician in Nigeria. The Yorubas should be careful. Others have not lynched their murderer and serial killers, decimating their own societies directly, but they want to execute your own pick-pocket whose action does not affect them?

Can Yorubas and most especially Lagosians see what happens when you put a politician as an oba. This useless oba must be removed! The throne rightfully belongs to the Balogun family but Tinubu and his fellow foo.ls forcefully installed the sanile man. I am a full blooded lagosian and this man is not my oba.

For you all to know, Tinubu did the same thing in Elegushi Lekki. He installed the younger brother as against Aremu (next in line) because the younger brother was once his pa forcing Aremu to go in exile.

The evils Tinubu and APC planted in Lagos will surely come back to hunt them. Oba ode!

Initial gra gra my good man. APC will have its time soon to presents its plan and sell the Party to Nigerians. We must never forget that African politics still involves ruling Parties using the money and might of the nation to coerce an unsophisticated and myopically 'hungry' (stomach infrastructure) polity but I am confident GEJ will be rejected. A lot of Nigerians, especially in the North and SW, will only 'chop his dollar' because his 5 years has been a disaster overall.
PoliticsRe: The APC Vs PDP Thing Worth It ? by Gbawe: 5:41pm On Sep 23, 2014
@OP

APC is indeed the better choice. By far. PDP is simply a 15 year old 'agbaya' that has proven itself a total failure unable to take Nigeria forward. Are biggest problems 15 years ago are even worse today. Is that not an indisputable indictment of failure for a sane mind? APC, at State level, has shown far more than enough to convince objective Nigerian it can do a great job moving Nigeria forward if in control of the centre.

@topic.

Let me get this straight. A highly embarrassing situation has transpired that raises the real possibility that the Nigerian Government is shady, corrupt, highly dubious and a glorified money launderer. This is a situation every sane and upright person will agree must be investigated transparently ,minus any cover-ups, with heads made to roll if wrongdoing is proven. Those with the most power to perform oversight function and check gross abuse of power by the executive arm are our lawmakers.

APC Reps are insisting the matter must be discussed so that the truth is known and answers given to the Nigerian public.
PDP, which is the majority, is insisting on a cover-up which disregards the need to account to the Nigerian people always as obtains worldwide.

Yet some forumers are actually criticising the rightful and responsible conduct of the APC Reps while inanely backing the backward and clearly insincere conduct of the PDP reps? Walahi, Nigerians deserve all the misrule visited upon them by their crooked, irresponsible and callous leaders.

The state (and slowly the whole SW) is providing refuge to the IGBO nationationals and yet loudmouths are here talk like Uzor Kalu?.
Don't mind him. We are "all Nigerians" means the man from Abia should ignore or even praise the likes of Orji Kalu, who did absolutely nothing to secure progress for the people of Abia, to be proclaiming Tinubu the "problem of Nigeria"? We are all Nigerians means those who are from Enugu, and have never set foot in Lagos, should disgracefully ignore their Governors months long absence from office while they talk insultingly of issues related to Lagos obsessively everyday to be hurling abuse at Fashola and wishing Tinubu death? Did any Yoruba even have the time or ill-will to wish Chime death when he was sick?

We are all Nigerians means it should be SE folks championing the fight to introduce religious strife and disharmony into the affairs of a people who are known for their religious tolerance with, as one example, the effort to blacken Aregbesola as an "Islamic fundamentalist" when the man is loved by his own people whether Moslem or Christian? That is the sort of thing that VICTORCIZA character I responded to, and his kind, do here all day and this is why I tell him to mind his business. Abeg, let some people shove the 'all Nigerian' BS where the Sun does not shine. "All Nigerians" is an invitation for posters mainly from the SE to come here daily to insult and vilify the SW, her people and leaders and even nauseatingly wish death on a man who has nothing to do with them while they ignore and even exalt their own misrulers responsible for their frustration? Yorubas should then remain silent in the spirit of "we are all Nigerians" when we do our bit to accommodate "all Nigerians" hospitably and get along with every ethnic group without rancour?

Similarly since we are all human beings it is all right for the caucasian to take to the net everyday and only talk about black people malevolently to call them criminals, rapists and the "problem of humanity"? I guess the black man should embrace such vile folks all for the sake of "we are all human beings". Nonsense.
