TANdroids are simply too 'thick' to take seriously. Good policies have never been the issue with Nigeria. Beyond the policies are the sincerity and delivered results which convince FDI to take us seriously and not head to Ghana or Uganda. Whether some clannish illiterates wish to admit it or not, it is crystal clear to the entire world that Amosun's driven and focused leadership has made Ogun State, according to a world bank report, one of the "five most improved States in Nigeria" to the extent serious investors now see the State as probably the number one destination in Nigeria for their investments.

Shall we start inspecting laudable policies from various Nigerian government that still did not convince many foreign investors to come to Nigeria simply because the on-the-ground conditions and realities did not match what these investors were looking for? This is a lesson for all Nigerian States. they need to learn from the approach of Amosun which relied heavily on courting FDI via the delivery of all that was missing in the past which made investors overlook Nigeria. As examples, can we imagine the massive influx of high-level FDI Nigeria would witness if the FG sincerely tackled insecurity, power shortage, corruption and deficient transport infrastructure?

Can we not all remember when Okonjo-Iweala was appointed a Minister by GEJ and she went on a charm initiative, highlighting positive policies and plans, to attract top-line investments from the George Soros of the world only for those people to tell her and Nigeria that many conditions on the ground were not even near optimal enough to attract them? Why did those investor not just simply plunge their capital into Nigeria as Okonjo-Iweala tried to make them do with her presentation and policy drive? TANdroid mumus. Investors do not follow 'talk' and goodwill policies alone which are never in short supply anywhere in the world. They go where efforts and reality on the ground assure them a good ROI (returns on investment). That is the business and economic reality sentimental and unintelligent TANdroids will never accept.

Ogun attracted $10bn investment in 36 months – Amosun
Posted by CM in Biz & Economy Sep, 26 2014 No Comments
Gov. amosunLAGOS – Gov. Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State on Friday said the state had attracted investment worth up to $10 billion (about N162 billion) within 36 months.

Amosun disclosed this at a forum jointly organised by the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and the Senate President, Chief David Mark.

He was represented at the forum by the state Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Chief Bimbo Ashiru.

He said that the investment came from about 50 companies that invested in the state within the last two years.

“Before now, Ogun was nowhere in the investment circle, but today I can boldly say that we have risen to be among the first 10 investment-attracting destinations.

“In the last 36 months, over 50 companies have invested in Ogun, and the investments are worth up to $10 billion.

“The state government has made this possible through its efforts in creating an enabling environment that would attract local and foreign investors,” the governor said.

He urged the Federal Government to endeavour to provide sufficient infrastructure to encourage investment in the country.

Amosun said that lack of good roads was a major heartache for most business owners and multinationals, and called on the federal government to urgently repair and construct major roads in the country.

He advised key players in the private sector to support the government through their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, adding that government should not be left alone in providing for citizens welfare.

“It is important for local and foreign investors to earn the trust of the government especially in the time of transition to a new government.
“Infrastructure is also an area where the government needs to work on to promote investment, poor infrastructure like bad roads are the bane of any investment climate.

“While this is established, it is also necessary to point out to multinationals and key players in the private sector to lend their support to the government in the form of their CSR initiatives.

“In doing this, the CSR should be done with the stakeholders or host communities leading the way.

“CSR should really be areas where the beneficiaries have identified as a need, and should also be a sustainable venture, not just something that will not last,” he said.

Amosun urged the private sector to partner with the government to promote good governance and citizens’ welfare. (NAN)

Walahi Joathanians and TANDroids are really 'dense' cavemen with no clue as per how the world functions . Even within the article, it is crystal clear Governor Amosun unambiguously enunciates the reasons these Automobile brands chose Ogun State. Pointless attempting mischief over what is clear and straightforward simply because of clannish and ethnocentric support for an ultra-corrupt and hideously failed leader.

Governor Amosun, who expressed satisfaction for the choice of Ogun state by these automobile companies, explained that the location of‎ both local and foreign industries to the State in recent times, “is a testimony to the latest ranking by the World Bank report on doing Business in Nigeria which listed Ogun as one of the five most improved states in Nigeria.

Shame on you Gbawe. You and other APC attacks spend all your life abusing and insulting GEJ simply because he is not your tribesman but here you are trying to claim credit for working policies. Here you are trying to deny the working automotive policy of the FG all Because of tribal bigotry.
Is Ogun state no longer part of Nigeria? Is GEJ no longer president of Nigeria? When companies are attracted into Nigeria thru the policies of the FG, they are free the set up shop in ANY part of Nigeria
STFU shameless herbalist. Do you know what creating a "conducive environment" means? I.e delivering tangibles like infrastructure essential to business success, security, efficient tax reforms/policies, minimising business bureaucracy/bottlenecks,provision of a dedicated investment enquiry office etc, etc? In so far as even your paymaster (GEJ) has admitted directly that Amosun created the conducive environment that is now seeing investors choose Ogun as their number preferred destination in Nigeria then I have nothing to discuss with a wretched and hungry fool like you.

You can play the ethnic card all day but the bottom line is that no one asked you to support a grossly failed leader who is condemned even beyond Nigeria and Africa. When the Ghanaian Professor Ayittey condemned GEJ did he do it because GEJ is not his "tribesman"? How about Cameron? He too demanded accountability from the ultra-corrupt GEJ because he is Yoruba? Hilary Clinton is a Hausa lady and hence the reason she concluded that the GEJ government is not "serious" about fighting corruption? People like you are the real problem of Nigeria. You are shameless and I am sure those related to you in real life must be ashamed of your highly unprincipled, sycophantic and dishonest nature.

That is the modus operandi of ethnocentric and religiously intolerant SaTANists. They must always steal achievement for GEJ because our President has very little real achievements to point to. In regards to the major problems of Nigeria, i.e the ones preventing our nation from developing optimally, their messiah GEJ is a universally acclaimed failure. Laughable they now want to steal Amosun's achievement for a President too busy looting to even see let alone care about the major issues troubling Nigeria. At least the Jonathan they try and commit daylight robbery for is not foolish enough, in the face of incontrovertible evidence, to pretend the transformation of Ogun State is to do with anything/anyone other than Amosun's outstanding effort.

Ogun, most industrially developed state in Nigeria - Jonathan

14.Mar.2014 16 Comments

President Goodluck Jonathan has described Ogun State as the most industrially developed state in the country and attributed the state’s new status to the economic plan of the Senator Ibikunle Amosun-led administration.

The President further expressed the readiness of the Federal Government to partner with the state government in its rebuilding mission.

Speaking at the commissioning of the Procter and Gamble multi million dollar plant in Agbara, Ogun State, Jonathan, who was represented by Vice President, Namadi Sambo, affirmed that the Amosun-led administration was creating a conducive environment for business to thrive in the state.

By repairing South West roads??

What exactly did he do to provide an Enabling Environment for business??
Why do you respond to that dishonest TANdroid when the reason for this development and many others is even stated within the article? It is known, beyond even Nigeria, the work Amosun has done to make Ogun State one of the favourite destination of FDI, businesses and industry in Nigeria. The reality of Ogun has zilch to do with the indolent and very corrupt GEJ and everything to do with the driven, focused, visionary and very efficient leadership of Amosun.

Even the world bank now confirms what I have consistently argued which is that Amosun is one of the very best governors in Nigeria and a truly transformational leader from a transformational political party. These are the sort of evidence even sane fans of GEJ or the PDP cannot dispute as proof APC politicians are simply the most impressive and most efficient leaders in Nigeria.

This Senate adventure is only the beginning for Alamieyesiegha as far as Oga GEJ is concerned. We must remember that mere stealing is not corruption.

Calm down. Don't be afraid to say you are scared Jonathan is about to be booted out. Don't patronise the intelligence of Nairalanders with what is an obvious attempt to use scaremongering and blackmail to try and muffle the very vocal, confident and overwhelming support Buhari is gaining by the day.

Buhari fans, whether from Katsina or Osun State, will continue to talk confidently and passionately about a Buhari win which holds massive hope for change after the corruption-centred and worthless leadership we have endured for the past 5 years. GEJ made it so. Jonathan had 5 years to make a positive difference. He squandered it to the extent the clamour for a man seen as the real change (Buhari) is now even more urgent than ever. Blame the abysmal leadership of the boy with no shoes for how Buhari is now transformed into the 'last hope' of a sane Nigeria that will work for the common man and not militant billionaires , private jet-owning scammers, government cronies, crony capitalists, corruption barons et al.

Yes I believe in God and the concept of a supreme being but I am not dogmatic about religion. Most important for me above rigid religious faith, and as guiding principles I try to live by, is a dedication to being good, morally upright, fair, humanitarian and societally productive as much as possible. In other words, you won't catch me bashing the bible in church on Sunday only to then be looking for ways to defraud my fellow man on Monday. Too many people believe in God fervently and intolerantly yet are not godly in their ways.

What you do not want to accept is that societies evolve to embrace tolerance and change. In the end, and as we have seen to be the case elsewhere, most hetorosexual men will ultimately conclude that the choices and activities of consenting gay adults does not affect them and is therefore not their personal business. That is how things will develop going forward regardless of how passionately you feel Nigeria will resist and ostracise gays.

Nigeria cannot be more homophobic than the West were decades ago. But their societies evolved and moved on, so shall Nigeria in years to come.
Absolutely correct. Those not prepared to live and let live will have to find remote Islands to relocate to because the trend is always that homosexuality is resisted vehemently then tolerated tacitly and eventually accepted conservatively. Nigeria and much of Africa may be at the beginning stage but the latter stages will surely come same as the Sun rises daily. Would it surprise Nigerians to know that homosexuality is legal in Turkey? homophobic discrimination always reduces with time in even extremely homophobic nations and societies. Scaremongering will change nothing.

There is no phase Nigeria is going through now that others have not experienced before us with equal passion and vehement indignation. One thing is 100% sure. Society will evolve and grow in tolerance and not the other way round. This is why America has a black President today when it was not that long ago that blacks in the USA used to be slaves to be used and traded like livestock and commodities by Caucasians.

All these articles are wasted on our President. He has even been heard to gloat over the number of private jets owned by billionaires, his people in Otuoke don't have light and millions of young people in the Niger delta are bursting crude oil pipes and engaging in crime and militancy. Is that a normal human being? Many people do not understand the serious intellectual limitations of our President. He was chosen carefully by the Godfathers for qualities that he lacks. The man is a delight to all those who work for him because they can do and steal anything and get away with it. He just does not understand much about anything, a complete blank tabular Rasa. Oga, what you are doing is pointless. The people you are talking to are secretly angry with the situation of the country and the way the commonwealth is looted by a few untouchable people. It is this anger that makes them set upon any vulnerable person in the area. Homosexuals are a very, VERY easy target for such brutality. What they do is frowned upon by many religions and for that reason it is easy to mobilize people to hunt them and kill them.

LAST BULLET: As for the guy they beat up, my advice to him is to apply for asylum in Canada. now that they have beaten him, he can easily be given asylum in America, Canada or UK and even get a job as a spokesperson for one of the many organizations that are promoting gay rights. A man should not be intimidated by a homosexual. By that I mean, those people who set out to preach “fire and brimstone,” the beating, killing and harassing of homosexuals and lesbians, in most cases are people that fear for a dormant personality that might come forth from themselves. If you are sure about your manhood or womanhood, then you should have no fear of socializing or befriending a person with different intimate preferences than you. The very fear is a confession that if you were to socialize with a homosexual or lesbian you’re afraid you might become a homosexual or a lesbian.
What you intelligently espouse is even established scientific fact and the basis of many formal studies which ultimately go on to conclude that the most vociferously homophobic men are the one who fear their own subconscious homosexuality and effeminacy. Your conclusion is exactly the same as many scientific studies which suggests that balanced and assured men, secure in their own sexuality, have no reason to hate gays to the extent of wishing them harm i.e extreme homophobia.

I think human relationship, in the simplest form, must focus on preventing wrong (rape, murder, assault, robbery, terrorism et al) blighting the lives of law-abiding citizens. Can all those who have rushed to support the lynching of gays here make a cogent argument for how the private and bedroom activities of two adult gay men harm them personally or constitute a direct criminal act against their person or that of their loved ones?

So because animals have homosexuality behaviour,it is now an excuse for human beings to be homosexuals?

Seriously?
No Berem. Tatiana and LastOkpaBender are just correcting the ignorant misconception that homosexuality is limited to man alone. other animals engage in it also. I think many are getting carried away here. This is not an issue about whether the act of homosexuality is right or wrong. That is a different argument altogether.

OP stated that a man jumped in to defend a gay couple that were about to be set-upon by a lynch mob. OP simply wanted to know if the good samaritan was right to intervene or not. It is a simple enough question same as asking if white folks who risked their lives, to prevent the savage lynching of black people by racist lynch mobs in slave-trading period and the times shortly after that, should have intervened or simply looked on.

It may not be in the heart of many Nairalanders to intervene as the good samaritan did but is it wrong that this man followed his humanitarian instinct and respect for the sanctity of life to the extent he got involved to prevent the lynching of two men in cold bold by an ALUU mob who arrogate upon themselves the right to murder homosexuals?

Those willing to lynch and murder a fellow man, in cold blood, simply because of sexual prejudice should remember that there are many places worldwide where they too will be lynched mercilessly by hate-filled racist barbarians who hate black people and insist we are all "dirty scum" who have no right to life.

Nigerian gays too should tone-down their display of public affection because they must be sensitive to the reality of the society they live in. Nonetheless, no one should be lynched or summarily executed because of their sexual preference. That is a level of savagery no one should support because we can all be victims of discrimination sooner or later.

GEJ has so played-out that angle to the extent many Nigerians now realise that the politicians too keen to show he is like the average man is likely the one who hates ordinary Nigerians the most and will only work for the "more of the same" political system enriching an elite class at the expense of the majority. This is what GEJ has done and Maku is only wasting his time embracing stale tactics.
PoliticsRe: PDP Must Be Worried Over Tambuwal's Defection- Former Senator by Gbawe:
TANDroids run on feudal petrol and ethnocentric diesel hence the reason they can never comprehend that the defection of Tambuwal is a big loss for the PDP as I told them it would be for many strategic reasons. This development resonates loudly home and abroad and sends out messages the ruling Party is weak, disunited and uncoordinated. The PDP hosts many, many powerful 'enemies within' who are seriously disgruntled with the dictatorial way a ruling cabal has broken promises, ruined erstwhile gentlemen's arrangement that had served the Party well, heightened treachery and disloyalty, disenfranchised others, promoted infighting and monopolised power completely. Many are waiting for the right time to stab their own Party in the back and weaken it fatally, leaving the ruling Party no time to recover from it's 'wound', before the general election.

Beyond the noise and the current feudalistic politics many of the PDP fans have mired themselves in, it is a big blow for any Party worldwide to lose its number 4 citizen (after the President, VP and Senate President) to an opposition Party not even two years old and predicted to not last a year by the ruling Party. Putting aside sentiments, Tambuwal's defection show how weak, dishevelled, discombobulated and fractured the ruling Party really is. It is now obvious to the world that most PDP members are not tied to the Party by ideological belief but by an abiding interest in their own stomach infrastructure. This is perhaps permissible for a Party seeking power but not for a ruling Party with 16 years of unchallenged monopoly of the Nigerian centre behind it. The PDP , if it were an effective political entity, should ideally be popular and able to retain the loyalty and patronage of its influential members given how long the Party has controlled Nigeria at the centre . It beats me how some Nigerians fail to get this very important point.

So far, non of the predictions of the PDP for the APC has come to pass. If anything, the APC continues to wax stronger making the PDP to appear a terminally ill entity now completely reliant on inducing and coercing support/endorsement. Some of us say things here that most Nigerians do not have the maturity or pragmatism to accept and I will deliver another prediction here. This is only the beginning, in my opinion, of what is a strategic plan to emasculate a PDP now completely hijacked by power-drunk and sit-tight elements. Momentum will slip away from the PDP while the APC will gain more traction, acceptability and wide backing locally and internationally.
