corperscorner:Thank you. Nigerians should vote, remain calm, shun violence and watch votes counted and collated. It is your future you are fighting for. |
The same "Statesman" openly sponsoring and compromising a militia group with government contract I.e the OPC? Dude your sycophancy na wa. GEJ is not a President any honest person, even if totally drunk, can call a "Statesman". After Monday he will become Otuoke's top "Statesman" and not Nigeria. |
7lives:Indeed. Jonathan continues to make very, very wrong moves because of desperation. Imagine empowering two uncouth agberos, i.e FFK and Fayose, to be the main mouthpiece of his campaign? To then top it all, Jonathan desperately begins bribing and coercing dangerous militia groups consisting mainly of killers, unruly touts, drug-taking urchins and poorly educated thugs who cannot be controlled by anyone. This was how militancy began in the SS and this act alone shows that GEJ does not care about the security of Nigerian lives and property even as we knew this already with how he callously watched as over 15,000.00 Nigerians were butchered by Boko Haram only to start begin a desperate vote-seeking assault on Boko Haram 6 weeks to the general election. Jonathan is simply too crude, too callous and too anti-people to be allowed to remain in power. He will completely destroy our dear Country if allowed to continue and I think all reasonable people know this. That is why they will go to the polls tomorrow to vote out GEJ overwhelmingly and send a strong message to the PDP that Nigeria is fed up of their 16 years of wanton destruction. |
@Aresa. Proud of you bro. Keep it up. A country where our people have the basics that dignify their existence is what we are asking for. This is what the PDP has refused to give Nigerians despite leading us for the past 16 years. Instead our people, like rats, are left celebrating 4 hours of power per day when 24/7 power supply has been the norm in many nations for the past 50 years. We must oust the marauders who are only about themselves and their avarice. Change we want and change we shall get !!!!!! |
pendy79:Man mi, the ethnocentric and religiously-prejudiced brigade behind GEJ will be shocked at the resistance that will emerge against their messiah. Nuff said. Even the election postponement was anticipated and planned for by the APC. |
KwoiZabo:Continue deceiving yourself. http://www.nigerianbulletin.com/threads/cnn-tags-nigeria-worst-performer-in-africa.109184/ http://www.nigeriatell.com/news/cnn-tags-nigeria-worst-performer-in-africa#.VQ24PvmsWJg http://leadership.ng/news/419081/cnnmoney-rates-nigeria-worst-performer-in-africa http://www.amazonherald.com/news/cnn-tags-nigeria-worst-performer-in-africa http://bacladtvonline.com/2015/03/21/cnn-tags-nigeria-worst-performer-in-africa/ |
chukwudi44:I am not wisdomflakes to be indulging a bigot with comprehension issues who does not know what "influential" is, in relation to politics, and assumes it is about winning elections. You are very 'dense' and I have no time to waste on you. |
WisdomFlakes:Why are you indulging that bitter, ethnocentric and hateful chap? He is programmed never to see anything good about anything/anyone Yoruba so of course he will deny Tinubu is influential when even the worst enemy of Asiwaju wll tell you the man is political influence and sagacity personified. The saddest thing to in the world is when people cannot even be truthful to themselves because of prejudice against others. Denying the political influence of Tinubu, from 1999 till today, is like denying that Alli was a great boxer. Anyone doing such is nothing but an irredeemable hater and liar. |
I Think people are confusing "influential" with the word popular. If we are talking of influential, in the strict sense of the word, then it is Tinubu and "the rest" as Edogirl2 stated. What Tinubu has achieved in the past 8 years is phenomenal and unmatched. He retrenched the PDP from the SW and created an entire political dynasty of leaders like Fashola, Aregbe, Fayemi, Ajimobi, Amosun et al. He worked tirelessly for the formation of the APC and outwitted the PDP at every step of the way. Tinubu is the ultimate kingmaker and the most intellectually sagacious politician in Nigeria. No other has matched the achievement of Tinubu in Nigeria's post 1999 politics. As an example to put things in perspective, Atiku was a founding father of the ACN along with Tinubu. While Atiku ran from pillar to post seeking whatever he felt would make him President, Tinubu sagaciously and single-handedly built the ACN into a formidable Party that would go on to produce 5 out of the 6 Governors in the SW. In the process Tinubu, with no political position, outwitted and out-manoeuvered very powerful politician and office-holders like OBJ, Gbenga Daniel, Dimeji Bankole, Alao-Akala, Segun Oni, Oyinlola et al. The ACN went on to merge with others to form APC and Tinubu remains probably the most influential politician in the Party to the extent he got his candidate for Lagos (Ambode) over the line ahead of that of Fashola and got his choice (Osinbajo) nominated as VP candidate to Buhari. Tinubu was also responsible for getting all SW Governors to deliver unanimous delegate votes that saw Buhari emerge the APC candidate easily. That is grade A political 'influence' that is not to be confused with popularity. |
babysheju2:Indeed. The Amosun example is one other leaders should learn from. Perform and the electorate will automatically support you back to power. Deliver and you will not need any election cancellation gimmick and last minute bribing of Obas and opinion leaders. Amosun did things how it should be done. |
mmsen:No one has a problem with the constructive criticism of Fashola or LASG. Yet we know each other here on Nairaland. That poster I commented on is another hardened bigot in the camp of those who never see anything good in the leadership of any Yoruba person yet they are ready to bathe in the poo of GEJ. The sum total of issues is that Fashola and the APC are performing and genuinely transforming Lagos. This is more than can be said for others. |
OrlandoOwoh:Don't mind the ethnocentric fool. These "suffering and smiling" imbeciles are a disgrace to Nigeria. They will praise and worship crass mirulers like GEJ while attacking Fashola who is universally acclaimed as the best leader in Nigeria. All because of 'good old' ethnic prejudice. Sad people. |
OrlandoOwoh:This is why other world leaders are fuming with GEJ and barely able to acknowledge him or be polite to our President. The action of the Moroccan King of late is an example. The man showed he could not stand GEJ at all. His disdain for our President was very obvious. There is real horror and shock that GEJ could be so irresponsible with the lives of his own people. Other leaders cannot understand it and find our President absolutely repellent because of this. It is the same as all sane and normal fathers would despise another father who sexually abuses his own child. It is clear to the world that GEJ abandoned Nigerians to die for 5 years, to the extent Boko Haram claimed territory bigger than the size of Belgium and murdered over 15,000.00 Nigerians in cold blood, only to now begin this cynical initiative because he is desperate to retain his position. Jonathan is fooling no one and I personally hope he pays for his crimes. The death of innocent people is something most leaders will not like to have on their conscience but we all know our President is a heartless man who does not "give a damn". GEJ will get his just 'reward' in the end. |
Sunnybobo3:You are shameless. A lousy sadist and an enemy of progress. I wish we could ship people like you to Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia et al and dump you there permanently. |
harde2lah:Because some "owners of Nigeria" , like OBJ et al, value the need for 'business as usual' to continue more than they want Nigeria to make progress. This is why all Nigerians must go out to vote for Buhari next Saturday. He will be the first President since 1999 who will be independent-minded, his own man entirely and completely focused on working for ordinary Nigerians and not any AGIP, cabal or interest group. |
WisdomFlakes:Indeed. The very poor and totally negligent handling of the Chibok kidnapping showed the entire world what GEJ is. Any adult not into self-deceit will realise that this current military initiative against Boko Haram is linked entirely to GEJ's fear of electoral rejection. This a shameful and disgusting because over 15,000.00 Nigerians have died needlessly when GEJ did not "give a damn". We are now supposed to praise him for this self-serving initiative which will immediately be scaled back once GEJ receives 4 more years? "Never again". GEJ is going back to his Village. |
OrlandoOwoh:This is one of the reasons they feel they must never hand over to Buhari. I.e the fear that the blood they have on their hands will be exposed for the world to see. GEJ and co spent the last five years playing politics with the issue of terror and falsely pointing fingers at others , like Buhari, when they should have been doing all in their capacity to protect Nigerian lives and property. They are now all afraid of jail because of their heinous deeds they feel Buhari will insist they be punished for. |
Bishop4bella:Indeed. Continuity is the name of the game and Lagosians are aware of this. Nothing for Agbaje or the PDP in Lagos. As simple as that. Fashola and the APC have done well and all true Lagosians know this. Lagosians will vote overwhelmingly for continuity. |
wirinet:Oga Wirinet, folks like you are too intelligent for this forum. You know many Nigerians run on the fuel of sentiments and bias. They will therefore say the most illogical things to support their corner or affiliate. Naturally TANdroids and Jonathanian will try to spin anything negative under GEJ into a positive even if this involves saying the most senseless thing a well-educated 8 year old can discredit easily. How can any intelligent person claim falling value of the Naira is a good thing for the so-called biggest economy in Africa that is entirely import-dependent? To be honest, I am flabbergasted at the arguments peddled here sometimes to the extent I am rendered speechless. I am not even willing, like you, to explain to sentimental folks the many disadvantages to Nigeria of the Naira losing value drastically over a short period of time. The clue, for those still willing to learn, lies in investigating the effect of drastic currency drop in value for a Nation, like Nigeria, that takes far more from the world (import) than it gives to other nations (export). There are many case studies to help our fellow sentimental Nigerians. People who cannot understand the very important synergy of economic interdependence that makes import-reliant nation very vulnerable to drastic drop in currency value will simply not get the huge risk this situation poses for Nigeria. |
omenka: The desperation of these TANdroids gets greater by the minute. When they point one finger at the APC they do not realise that they are inadvertently pointing the other 4 at the President , i.e GEJ, and his ruling Party who lead the country. Who has the responsibility of prosecuting those who are corrupt in Nigeria? If indeed APC leaders are corrupt as OP states then why has the ruling government not done anything to bring them to book? Anyway, you know the score. When so many are talking as if the APC is the ruling Party it means in their heart they accept this to be the case. |
helinues:Sorry, I cannot praise him for watching idly while over 15,000.00 Nigerians died when, all the time, he had the power to mobilise the Army to tackle and deal with Boko Haram and thus prevent those deaths. That is inhuman wickedness bruv. It lends credence to the accusation that GEJ has always been happy to use terror and the blood of Nigerians for his own selfish political agenda. We are on the same side as supporters of GMB/Osinbajo but I cannot and will never agree GEJ deserves any praise doing today what he could have done, throughout the 5 years he has been in charge of Nigeria, to prevent the death of so many of our people. What if he ignores and let Boko haram continue to be killing innocent people. Even if he looses the election, he has nothing to looseWith what you write above it seems you have not taken the right lessons from what has happened in the past five years. Jonathan was happy to "ignore" Boko Haram for 5 years and watch Nigerians die. That is the reality none of us invented. This military initiative only comes because of the election loss GEJ fears. He will go back to ignoring Boko Haram if Nigerians give him the 4 years he craves desperately. Nigerians should feel insulted and humiliated this awful leader is doing this now after over 15,000.00 preventable deaths. Let us just agree to disagree because I know citizens of ambitious nations, where life is valued and folks are not worshippers of their oppressors, will never feel gratitude to GEJ. They will call for his removal and punishment because this military initiative now 100% confirms that GEJ always had the ability to prevent the death of so many Nigerians yet he chose not to do so because he did not attach any value to their lives. GEJ is wicked and entirely self-serving. Each to there own. If you want to feel gratitude to someone whose cynical inaction let over 15,000.00 Nigerians die, simply because of this election-motivated military initiative designed to fool Nigerians and win GEJ votes, then that is your prerogative. |
babysheju2:Same for all my folks in Ogun State. |
Mynd44:This is the bottom line. Of the class of 2011, i.e Governors voted into power in 2011, Amosun is probably the best in Nigeria. In fact he has performed a 1000% better than many two-term Governors. No electorate, especially in the misruler paradise that is Nigeria, will betray such a performer. |
helinues:Why should you even respect that action? Don't you get what is obvious? There would be outrage in virtually all nations on earth, where human life is viewed as sacrosanct, that GEJ waited for over 15,000.00 of our people to be killed before he is now doing what he should have done to improve security and prevent so many deaths. How can you respect a totally cynical and self-serving action that is being carried out after so many Nigerians have died needlessly? We need a leader who will do what must be done when it must be done. We do not need a deceitful opportunist happy to let Nigerians dies for 5 years only to begin acting when he is faced with an election loss. |
Scatterboss:Sometimes you have to let these liars understand that they are fooling no one but themselves. It was only a few days ago I told another deluded characters that the real opinion leaders the Yorubas respect and obey will come out to have their say with voice and influence that will rise far above that of the Yoruba omo ales who are engaging in initial 'gra gra' on behalf of their desperate paymaster who misruled Nigeria and personally glorified in neglecting and insulting the SW , by proxy through his loquacious kinsmen like clark and Dokubo Asari, for 5 years. Is it the characters we Yorubas ourselves know and accept to be worthless omo ales, who have never done anything for us, that GEJ will now use to make us ignore his 5 year misrule of Nigeria? Is it these desperados, many who were never respected in Yoruba land to begin with, who will make us sign up for 4 more years of misrule and the ethnocentric denigration of the Yorubas? I dey laff because some people do not understand that the Yorubas gave GEJ a chance and he effed up big time. That is a big no no in the SW. https://www.nairaland.com/gbawe2/posts You are one of the few posters here I like and respect. This is the only reason I am even responding. I have absolutely no interest in contributing my opinion on any thread started by this OP. Doing so is like a father with young children having to 'hang out' with a hardened and unrepentant paedophile. The OP, as you know now, is a totally disgusting human being any decent and morally upright person , whether APC or PDP, will avoid. |
focus7:Bruv, even on that post I pointed out that, as usual, he was talking crap and 'guessing' to mask his lack of knowledge. Those who truly know the SW will appreciate that the leaders the people respect and obey, not the riff-raffs omo ales and unprincipled mercenaries who have now aligned behind GEJ, can never be behind any candidate but Buhari. The Yoruba mindset is very simple and like no other in the way it anchors it outlook and judgement about everyone, whether Yoruba or otherwise, on the concept of 'Omoluabi' decency. It is a pious state every decent Yoruba will aspire to obtain personally and see in others. GEJ has proven over 5 years he is not an 'omoluabi'. Of course the Yoruba ethnic group consist of unprincipled individuals and turncoats who will place personal greed above the greater good of society. Yet these folks, now lined up behind and deceiving GEJ, are the cads and omo ales of Yoruba land and they can never be more, in number or influence, than the morally upright and decent leaders of an ethnic group famed, virtually more than any other in Nigeria, for its tolerant nature and determination to stand up for what is best for Nigeria. We produced Fela, Gani Fawehinmi, Falana, Soyinka and many others who, in Nigeria's darkest hours, stood for what is right and against what is wrong at the risk of their lives. Jonathan is "wrong" and the omo ales behind him cannot suddenly convince Yorubas he is right given what GEJ has shown over 5 years. The decent leaders of the SW have not suddenly disappeared, in number or influence, to then be replaced by omo ales like FFK, Fayose, Obanikoro, Teslim Folarin, Kashamu, George et al. These people were simply letting the paid PDP Yoruba omo ales and mercenaries have their say and 'exhaust' themselves sure in the knowledge that they, who have the respect and ears of the people, will have their say too when the time is right. https://www.nairaland.com/gbawe2/posts You are one of the few posters here I like and respect. This is the only reason I am even responding. I have absolutely no interest in contributing my opinion on any thread started by this OP. Probably card reader ![]() |
Scatterboss:Oga mi, I dey laff. There is so much we cannot say here. Do people know how many desperados Osoba coerced, even when they had nothing against Amosun originally, to fight the Ogun State Governor? How many know that Osoba promised all these guys the single guber SDP ticket? How many know Osoba extorted as much as N30 million each from these guys to 'guarantee' them the SP guber ticket? How do people think all these guys are feeling today knowing Osaba 'punked' them? 'Pound of flesh' things. I just dey laff. Uncharacteristically of me, I have even said too much yet I want some things known so that we can refer to it after free and fair elections has given some wannabe upstarts a lesson about how nuanced and complex SW politics is. |
