I have forgotten his name also even as I remember he was the character who went around telling the world he had no shoes. Would it be that man who always appears, in front of a camera, like a scared rabbit caught in the headlight of an oncoming car unlike GMB who is looking at the the camera confidently and in a completely assured manner? Well, you cannot buy Buhari's Presidential poise and charisma at the market otherwise our dull and charisma-bypassed President would have used all Nigeria's wealth to purchase the stuff.

Can anyone, even those who despise him deeply, deny that Buhari looks Presidential in the picture below?

If you want to break the activities of your opponent using the apparatus of the state, at least make sure that you get your story right, accurate, authentic and believable.
And you raided a place and recovered an incriminating evidence, you just don't broadcast it until you present it as an evidence in court, Meanwhile everything listed are normal basic things you see in any modern office. There was no mention of any smoking gun in relation to cloning of a card as if APC do not have the right to produce their party membership cards.
Who on earth sets up a hacking office, when you can do it anywhere while sipping a cup of coffee?

This has been my consistent argument also. Nonetheless, simple logic is now beyond many Nigerians because of how bitterly divided the nation is. No serious security agency would act as the DSS has done on this occasion and at other times recently. As simple as that.

Get a life please.

Village boy how far? Nigeria extends beyond your 1 square kilometre village you know. Perhaps this "transformation" is limited to your village alone because majority of Nigerians cannot see it. Sadly for you, it will take more than votes from your little village to allow GEJ remain in Aso Rock beyond 2015.

@Obiagelli.

Whatever anyone is up to , as part of an agenda to demonize the APC, will not work. This is simply because Nigerians are fed up of the current government. Anyone with time to waste is therefore welcomed to do his/her worst on Nairaland or elsewhere. Issues for many Nigerians is now ultimately about a personal struggle for liberation from a highly corrupt, morally bankrupt and callously inactive government (happy to watch Nigerians die) that was given a chance to make a difference yet failed horribly. The Nigerian people have had enough and this is a message all these desperados need to understand and accept.

Do you have any semblance of logical and intuitive reasoning in your system? APC had come out to tell Nigerians that millions of Nigerians had registered with them and that has formed the basis of boasting to coast home to victory in 2015 failure of which they will "form parallel government". If the premise of their projections and optimism is on a faulty foundation of multiple registration, don't you think APC will set Nigeria on fire if they loose next year and you said that's not the business of DSS? Common, apply some common sense, please.

Look at issues with the "common sense" you want others to use. Our security agencies are set up to prevent and apprehend crime. They are not investigative journalists who are free to insinuate wrongdoing without a corresponding responsibility for arresting and prosecuting such. It is not the place of the DSS to be announcing that a certain individual registered many times.

What the DSS must do is to establish clearly how this act is conclusively linked to a crime. Are there corresponding PVCs to these multiple registrations to support the insinuation of multiple voting? Please always try and seek the best standards for Nigeria by rising above pettiness and bias. This is Nollywood drama from the DSS. What this GEJ regime has consistently done is to bastardise and compromise institutions/processes to the extent unprofessional/bizarre conduct is now the norm everywhere. We remember the Otedola-Farouk Lawan 'James Bond' spy saga which came to nothing. We can also remember the public farce and insider sabotage (Allison-Madueke compromising Otti and Orasanye with conflict-of-interest NNPC appointments) that played out before the President over the work of Ribadu on behalf of the petroleum task force he headed which was set up by GEJ.

Fundamentally, no sincere security agency anywhere in the world will sabotage its own effort to convict lawbreakers as the Nigerian DSS is doing with antics that are a clear breach of universal investigative protocol. I can promise you one thing. Nothing will come of this because it is a PR exercise by the compromised DSS to tarnish the image of the opposition before the Nigerian public and not a sincere effort to tackle crime.

The comments from the perceived APC apologists here are so myopic and crude that it leaves one to wonder what sort of country they really want to live in. I can't Imagine where a report allegging that someone's picture was used over 15 times with different profiles and some people feel its normal! Barging into apc's privacy is unacceptable, but when the dss have court order and search warrant it becomes safe enough to go ahead. ( Thought apc alleged that the dss didn't have a court order or search warrant!). I will keep saying it, the apc of today is not anywhere close to what Nigerians need! He who lives in a glass house should not throw stones!

Dude, do you know the world beyond Nigeria? Where have you seen this sort of behaviour from police/security forces? Is it not normal for security agencies to establish conclusively that a criminal act has occurred and then prosecute offenders before publicly releasing sensitive information that may prejudice and sabotage any future attempt to bring offenders to justice? The conduct of the DSS discredits the ethos of sincere crime-fighting as we all know it to be practised worldwide and appears merely a smear campaign against the opposition with the clear and unacceptable breach of investigative protocol the DSS is guilty of. Think things through for a minute and tell me if it is normal for a security agency to announce mischievously and suggestively that "someone's picture was used over 15 times" when we are then not told of a specific crime or any corresponding formal criminal charges? Is this not the same as the spokesperson of the DSS (Ms. Ogar) showing clear bias by claiming, without any corroborating or conclusive investigative proof whatsoever, that bombings followed each time the APC had an election? Is this not similar to the PDP, through mouthpieces like Metuh, ridiculously and childishly insinuating that the APC are sponsors of terror yet the ruling Party and C-in-C cannot bring these known sponsors to justice and prefer they continue killing Nigerians?

You should be worried about the institutional bankruptcy GEJ is entrenching as part of Nigerian life that will take decades to reverse. We all saw the likes of IBB wantonly legitimise corruption to the extent Nigeria is still struggling with that legacy till date. The likes of Odili assisted the birth of militancy and that menace has now come to stay. Likewise the deadly nuisance of Boko Haram that political desperation helped grow massively into a hydra-headed monster. Now we are in a new age where it is virtually legal to openly bastardize and compromise Nigerian armed/security forces (police, Army, DSS et al) to then use them as pawns in a political power struggle. Sad development.

This statement from DSS is a shame of a nation and a disgraced to security agency.

Indeed. Could it be more obvious this is a highly partial and compromised security agency doing the 'plant damning evidence by all means' bidding of its master? How unprofessional is the conduct of our DSS? Where is this done in the world? I.e no thorough investigation and proper collation of evidence yet a security agency can run straight to the press with a list of 'recovered items'.

Is this not an ongoing investigation and is it not obvious to even a layman that evidence found should remain confidential till those suspected of a crime are charged to Court and prosecuted successfully? The protocol-defying rush to present 'damning proof' to the public tells objective Nigerians all they need to know about how institutionally bankrupt Nigeria is under GEJ. The DSS are not looking to check criminal conduct and ensure offenders are prosecuted. They merely want to sway public opinion against the APC and in favour of a very unpopular and desperate President. It won't work. Sorry.

Does it mean that the opposition has more influence than the fed govt in international relations? Never has Nigeria descended this low

Idrismusty97: No cause for an alarm. This is another reason to diversify! India might be our largest buyer but they can stop anytime soon. We should aggressively start turning to agriculture and the numerous mineral resources scattered all over Nigeria. We should stop importing Bitumen from Iran and revived our Bitumen production in Kaduna and ondo. We can export that too. The US have since stop buying Nigeria oil, We were informed in June. The ones we were still exporting to them may be already paid for since June.

Indeed and we are going to need a sincere, proactive and focused President who can take Nigeria into this new age bravely. What we have had, since 1999, are opportunistic business-as-usual 'protectors' of oil income supervising the historical looting of Nigeria by the same AGIP and elitist cabals. I personally welcome, for the sustainability of man, a world moving towards less dependence on oil. For Nigeria, this could be a good thing that will help us embrace the sayings "necessity is the mother of invention" and "when the going gets tough the tough get going".

bnovative: All because Nigeria didn't support gay law!

Guys, get real. So the USA will cuts its own nose to spite its face? The same USA that invades nations, at the cost of American lives, will be that pettily focused on a small scale arms deal not concerning the USA or threatening her interest directly? Americans cares more about gays than filling their 5 litre SUVs and houses on wheels called trucks? If the USA is not buying our oil it will be because, first and foremost, it is economically beneficial for the highly self-serving Country to do without our oil. Everything else is secondary for a Country that will deal with the devil covertly if such advances her interest or gets her what she needs.

If a sensible nation, Nigeria should deal with this new reality and worry about implementing economic measures that will nullify this development. We should stop deceiving ourselves that we are more important than we really are and then crafting all manners of conspiracies to validate our delusions of grandeur.

Below was Akinkunmi's original design modified by the judges to produce the green-white-green design that has endured till today. Brilliant and coherently significant simplicity can often be lost on those with 'loud' taste.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_Nigeria

Design[edit]
The national flag is an adaptation of the winning entry from Taiwo Akinkunmi in a competition held in 1959. The original had a red sun with streaming rays placed at the top of the white stripe. This was removed by the judges and the flag has not been altered since. Like other countries, Nigeria has special ensigns for civil and naval vessels. Some of its states also have flags.[1] The designer of the national flag was Michael Taiwo Akinkunmi, a twenty three-year-old student. He was studying at Norwich Technical College in England when he saw an advertisement in a newspaper that entries were being accepted for the design of a new National flag. In 1959 Akinkunmi's design was chosen as the winner and was first officially used on October 1, 1960, Nigeria's Independence day.[2]

Because the incumbent, outgoing governor displeased some people, they voted him out and brought in the very one they rejected to slight the incumbent, outgoing governor. They will surely suffer for it.The recent rioting is the first straw.More coming for them.

All what you have said is correct . Do people forget Fayose's terrible first outing as Governor? Anyway, Ekiti made their choice and that choice should be respected even if it makes no sense to the rest of us. My own opinion remains that everything should be done to expose Fayose as disqualified from running if this is indeed the case.

PDP must stop retrogressive politics that shames the African continent. It will prevent our political system evolving as we are seeing to be the case for our African neighbours. Is it too much to demand, in this day and age, that a ruling Party fields candidates of good conduct with no criminality or controversy attached to their name?
