By the way, as I am not a twitter user, can someone go and correct this dullard entertainer that Buhari was a head of State and not a "President" as she claimed? This is why these materialistic airheads and bimbos should keep their annoying mouth shut.

Why are so many Nigerian entertainers attention-seeking, materialistic and ill-exposed dullards? Does being a General and former head of State (and not "President" as this intellectually challenged entertainer wrote) automatically translate to the accumulation of copious wealth simply because this is the Nigerian way? Is Buhari not allowed to be like Thomas Sankara, Mahatma Ghandi, Nelson Mandela, Mother Theresa and many, many exemplary human beings who have no interest in material wealth yet are above reproach when it comes to selflessly and bravely doing what can benefit the advancement of their fellow human beings?

Has it occurred to this "money above everything" charlatan that Buhari, like many of the worlds most outstanding and influentially transformational men and women, may simply be ascetic in outlook? Sometimes I am ashamed of Nigeria and how we have made what is bad to be good while representing what is good and desirable everywhere else in the world to be a crime in Nigeria. Those who say "it is a crime to be poor in Nigeria" are correct because one feels this to be the case when a lot of Nigerians open their mouth to talk. No respect for the qualities Buhari has, which makes him godsent to Nigeria at this stage, yet focus is on his lack of wealth. No wonder Nigerians are reviled worldwide as a warped and aberrant people who worship money and material wealth above principles and human decency.

Story there was a similar thread yesterday that stated that Osun generated 12 billion in 10 months.

Why do you APC like lying like this?

If you are not intelligent enough to understand what is written then have the humility to refrain from claiming that others are "lying". That thread, even as I did not contribute to it, confused virtually all posters who responded to it. The thread talked about income accruing to Ogun through taxation. Any averagely intelligent person will know that IGR (internally generated revenue) is not limited to collection of tax and levies. The problem with Nigeria currently is that divisive and desperate politicians have enshrined politics of rancour and hate many have embraced to the extent they cannot even engage their thinking faculty adequately. They just support and oppose blindly and even illogically.

http://www.businessdictionary.com/definition/internal-revenue.html

internal revenue

Monies collected by a government through imposition of levies and taxes on facilities, incomes, sale of goods and services, transfers of properties, and other domestic transactions, as opposed to monies collected from duties imposed on imports and other international transactions. Also called inland revenue.

It's time to return fire for fire to this people, they have gotten away with all these innuendos, slurs and calumnies for too long.

No more siddon look. We have to destroy the SaTANs in
all their ramifications.

That may have been appropriate tactics last year but not today. Nigerians now know the truth and are in no mood to listen to the PDP lies and scaremongering aimed at demonizing GMB and Osinbajo with the hope they will appear unelectable to the benefit of GEJ. At this stage , after GEJ has conclusively shown the entire world how brazenly corrupt and callously inept he is, these lies, when ignored, will only strengthen the resolve of Nigerians to vote for GMB and Osinbajo.

If you start responding "fire for fire" then you join them in the gutter and it won't be long before Nigerians conclude you (APC and PDP fans) are all Pigs wallowing in mud and filth. The momentum is with team GMB/Osinbajo arising from how the APC have shown overwhelmingly , since PArty Primaries commenced, they are a Party that does things in a better, more dignified and classier manner than the PDP. The fans should toe this line too. We know the PDP fans have no choice but to lie and behave like touts because this is the last card they can play since Nigerians now accept that their messiah is a monumental failure. APC fan do not need to be like them as the side with the goodwill behind it. Our conduct matter as well bro as it shows the team APC is better than team PDP candidate for candidate, supporters for supporters and process for process.

Atiku will always do what Atiku knows how to do. Whereas OBJ will bully him openly while GEJ will outspend him (2010 PDP primaries) the brains behind APC will outsmart Atiku in a manner that will leave the Party's democratic credentials intact and even enhanced. The real 'booty' is the Presidency. Nothing can transform Atiku into a candidate capable of delivering that for the APC if chosen as the candidate of the Party. He will disgrace the Party because GEJ will win by a landslide in a ridiculous mismatch. I would personally advise Atiku to not waste his money on an exercise in futility.

My bro, majority of the politically serious members of the APC inner caucus know the Party will be humiliated at the general poll if Atiku flies the flag for the Party. GEJ is only a "dead man walking" at the general poll if he faces someone, like Buhari, viewed as a distinct departure to our ultra-corrupt President. Atiku will never be viewed by Nigerians as different to GEJ . In fact many Nigerians will prefer to vote GEJ or stay at home than support Atiku. All this is known to the movers and shakers in the APC and this is why Akeredolu fires off this warning. The Party is not suicidal or self-destructive in my opinion.

All the gains of the past 22 months, since the formation of the APC in Feb 2013, could be destroyed tomorrow if delegates make a monetised choice and I don't think anything will be allowed to threaten the progress the APC has made to become a strong main opposition Party. The wrong candidate will make the Party a laughing stock with hugely diminished credibility.

http://www.today.ng/politics/presidential-primary-apc-leader-warns-against-monetisation-of-votes/

The part in bold font below is a thinly-veiled broadside aimed at Atiku in my opinion. It is clear , all things considered, the candidate that represents APC's best chance of defeating PDP.

PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY: APC leader warns delegates against monetisation of votes

Mr Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN), an All Progressives Congress, APC, leader in Ondo State, on Tuesday warned against monetisation of votes in electing the party’s presidential candidate at its national convention.
Akeredolu, who was the candidate of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in the 2012 governorship election in Ondo State, spoke with NAN in Lagos.
The APC national convention to pick its presidential candidate is scheduled for Dec. 10 to Dec. 11 at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos with five aspirants.

Akeredolu told NAN: “If really we want to be taken serious, we must put aside money and go for who we believe can win election for us at the national level. “What is important is the presidency and we should not allow money to determine who emerges as the party’s presidential candidate.

“We cannot allow that to happen at the presidential primary because we must put the party above money politics and pick somebody who can win election for the party.

“Also, it is important for us to ensure that the exercise is free and fair like what happened at the primaries in the states.”
NAN reports that Akeredolu, a former national president of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), urged aspirants to see the election as a “family” affair and work toward winning the presidential election in 2015.
The APC presidential aspirants are former Head of State, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Rabiu Kwankwaso, Governor of Imo, Chief Rochas Okorocha and the Publisher of Leadership Newspapers, Mr Sam Nda-Isaiah.

Politics / Re: Remi Tinubu Wins APC Ticket For Lagos Central Senatorial District by Gbawe2: 2:54pm On Dec 09, 2014
In any nation of the world, where citizens are sophisticated and civilised, the conclusion will be that Remi Tinubu, because of her landslide victory, is the choice of the electorate who are the direct interest group and legitimate stakeholders her Senatorial office and leadership affects. Not so in Nigeria full of ethnocentric, hateful and prejudiced folks who cannot reason effectively because their thinking is compromised by sentiments and the senseless and often bigoted hatred of others. Remi Tinubu stole nothing from all of you haters.

She is not banned from holding public office because she is the wife of Bola Tinubu. She presented herself to be elected, as the constitution of Nigeria allows, and got the overwhelming support of those who matter i.e the electorate who are the direct stakeholders capable of judging her as acceptable or otherwise. The rest of you who do not even live in her constituency can stay here insulting her and her husband but that will not stop her returning to the senate next year. It is always too much to ask Nigerians to know their place, face what/who concerns then and remove their nose from what is not their business as others worldwide seem sophisticated enough to do.

As one example out of many , who is foolish enough to think our recurrent expenditure , year in year out, has to be as high as 70% (at the expense of pro-people capital spending) if not that it is our politics of elite and AGIP patronage that is entirely responsible for this? Do some appreciate that recurrent expenditure for many developed nation is in single digit i.e under 10%? Is it not the heights of idiocy to talk as if we cannot realistically bring this down drastically with genuine and pro-people political will? GEJ has failed over 5 years to do anything about this deplorable situation but others not as materialistic, corrupt and as beholden to the rapacious elite class as our President is will succeed easily to free up trillions of Naira to spend on what benefit ordinary Nigerians instead of ten planes for one President and private jets for his many cronies and 'partners in crime'. Yet many Nigerians have completely lost their humanity and morality because of the hate stirred up in their heart by politically divisive leaders who will never do the right things, to bring solutions to problems ailing all Nigerians, but prefer crudely setting Nigerians against each other so that their own hideous misrule ,sheer incompetence and looting of our commonwealth is ignored and never put in perspective. According to Sanusi less than 1% of the population consume 25% of our budget. This road map will turn that equation around to provide a social support to the most needy, by plugging this waste. When you factor in stolen 100,000 barrels of crude per day one starts to get the real picture of today's weak budget numbers.

Besides the 25m people stated is the maximum planned, and, everything considered, implementation will likely be phased. So that by the time this limit is reached the economy will likely be bigger than current N4.5trillion budget. The other elements of the road map will also have a ripple effect of our economy... so stop using yesterday's (read PDP's) failed plans for tomorrow (read APC's) solutions.

In my view they should watch out because PDP will steal some of these ideas into their campaign lies... the road map might have been released too soon.

Meanwhile Sai Buhari

Not surprising at all that the most analytically intelligent Nairalanders are fans of APC and optimistic supporters of progress for Nigeria while PDP fans/TANdroids are bitter and negative enemies of progress who cannot see good in anything others suggest and would have us persevere with 16 years of abject and criminal leadership failure. This is why I would personally read and respond to this post, which is an example of progressive and solution-driven intelligence, while ignoring the unintelligent and self-righteous drivel of Jonathanians. Constructive criticism is essential in life but entirely illogical and hate-filled criticism is a waste of time no one should entertain or take seriously.

literally many billions of dollars can be released for use on Nigerians, capable of funding a badly-needed welfare scheme for the least-privileged, if we gain a President and government that will shun our patronage system of governance to take all actions in the interest of average Nigerians and spend every kobo on the masses. Everything can work with a pro-people approach a leader like Buhari will bring whereas everything will fail, with even the simplest things appearing terribly complicated, under pro-elite, pro-patronage system and "business as usual" Presidents such as OBJ, GEJ et al. As simple as that.

And this will give 25 million poor Nigerians some life line to at least manage to live like a human being.
Imagine what all the 50 Billion, 100 Billion, I trillion that disappeared under this government or used for phantom subsidy payment could have done if properly channeled to proper use.

Diezani's private jet bill of 10 Billion within a year could have funded 2/3 of this scheme for 25 million Nigerians, we are really a nation of wasters.

Indeed. This is why I have no time, on this thread, for pseudo-intellectual mischief-makers masking as erudite and objective critics. Do some wannabe analysts know what corruption, lack of accountability/transparency and profligate/bloated governance cost Nigeria yearly? The monumental sum stolen via the fuel subsidy scam alone ($6.8 billion shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked ) could comfortably fund a social security scheme , as part of broad reforms to usher in a new Nigeria of empowered and productive citizens, for a substantial length of time !!!!! And we have not even factored in the billions and billions of dollars an austere and committed President/government could save Nigeria by initiating broad and sincere cost-cutting reforms and absolute insistence on judicious use of public funds everywhere !!!

Literally ,and in simplifying issues, many, many billions of dollars will become available to spend on Nigerians when we gain a President, like Buhari, who genuinely believes the wealth of a nation should be spent on her people and not on a small and rapacious Oligarchic class of callously anti-people opportunists. On better management of Nigeria's natural resources:

Better Manage Our Natural Resources
Nigeria is blessed with a wealth of natural resources,
from its oil and gas to reserves to minerals such as
iron ore, coal, tin, zinc and limestone.
These precious natural resources belong to the
Nigerian people and must be managed in a way
that improves lives and ensures their availability for
future generations.

APC’s Roadmap for Managing Our Natural Resources Includes:
◾ Make sure people at a local level benefit from mining
and mineral wealth by vesting all mineral rights in land
to states.
◾ Protect people from dangerous pollution by enforcing
laws to end gas flaring. This will reduce air pollution and
make sure that gas is not wasted and can be sold at
a lower cost.
◾ Halt the pollution of rivers and waterways in the Niger
Delta and other parts of the country and adopt a
comprehensive approach to erosion and shoreline
protection across the country.
◾ Reverse the effects of the expanding desert by
creating shelterbelts in states bordering the Sahara
Desert.

On Peace, security and foreign policy:

Strengthen Peace, Security and Foreign Policy

Peace and security are fundamental to Nigeria’s social
and economic wellbeing. Every Nigerian should be safe
and free to work in any part of the country regardless
of tribe, ethnicity, or religious beliefs.
Our law enforcement agencies face significant challenges
on many fronts: terrorism, especially in the Northeast,
unresolved high-profile homicides and the rise in new crimes
such as kidnapping, abductions and cyber-crime. The result
is an international perception of Nigeria as a failing state
where violent crime, corruption and fraud are rife.

APC’s Roadmap for Peace, Security and Foreign Policy Includes:
◾ Enable states to have their own local police forces that address
the special needs of each community, including community policing
initiatives that restore trust among local citizens.
◾ Establishing a serious crime squad with state-of-the-art training
and equipment to combat terrorism, militancy and ethno-religious
communal clashes.
◾ Provide a comprehensive compensation plan for victims of ethnoreligious
crisis, communal clashes and terrorism.

On critical infrastructure.

Build Roads, Power and Infrastructure
A Nigerian economy that produces jobs requires a modern day
infrastructure that includes affordable and reliable power, quality roads
and improved transportation.
Corruption and mismanagement have cost Nigeria dearly. While
80 percent of the government’s revenues are derived from oil and
gas – a resource that belongs to all Nigerians
– considerable money is lost every day to inefficiency and corruption
Nigeria’s lack of reliable electricity and poor
transportation system have made business
activity and the movement of people and
goods more difficult, raised our cost of living
and caused needless deaths and property loss.

APC’s Roadmap for Roads, Power and Infrastructure Includes:
◾ Provide captive power to critical facilities.
◾ Build an integrated gas pipeline across Nigeria to
increase the availability of clean energy at a lower cost.
◾ Construct an interstate rail and highway system that
links major cities and centers of production.
◾ Increase Nigeria’s broadband Internet capacity through
a national fiber-optics network to spur economic growth
and create thousands of new jobs.
◾ Develop an integrated inter-modal transport system that
maximizes the transportation of goods, raw materials
and people.

Obiagelli:
The same people who keep asking for manifesto will come and tell you, word are cheap, look good on paper.

Thank you my sister. Excuses, excuses. They will shout all day that "they have no manifesto or plans for Nigeria". Show them such, as I make the deliberate effort to do, and the excuses will become something else. Anyway,we have no time for enemies of progress. This is the time to highlight the plans of the APC without entertaining distractions from TANdroids and Jona-stooges.
