gaby: please note, the dollar is 450 it's the black market that is 800+ and who buys from black market? They are the people who can't explain why they want dollars and most people usually sell to aboki rather than selling to bank at official rate. mean why, aboki is ready buy from you and sell to those who can't buy through bank at whatever rate he likes. Nigerians are the biggest enemy of Nigeria. It's more of the people and less of the policy. 2 Likes |

Someone wrote: If you think Nigeria N740 Naira (at the black market rate and 450 CBN rate) is useless just because it is equivalent to $1 please read to end. I came across people making a mockery of the Naira vs the dollar in the last 48 hours and I have been laughing and pitying them since! Is the currency exchange rate a yardstick for the basic cost of living comparison? I am not happy that our Naira is depreciating always but hey....it is not that bad and this is why 1. N740 can buy me 2 square meals in Nigeria but $1 can't buy you a meal in the US. 2. N740 can buy me a 1.6gb worth of data in Nigeria but $1 can't buy you a 250mb of data in the US. T-Mobile charges N32,500 for a 30gb of data, AT&T charges N37,500 for a 30gb of data, and Verizon also charges N40,000 for the same 30gb of data in the US. Glo charges me N10,000 for 50gb and MTN charges me N10,000 for 40gb of data. 3. A 75cl bottle of water in Nigeria cost an average N100, a 55cl bottle water in the US is $1.45 which is N1125. 4. The most expensive place to live in Abuja is Aso Drive, a single room cost N600,000 per month, and the same room goes for N450,000 in Lekki all in Nigeria. The same room in Manhattan, New York City goes for N2.4 million per month. 5. N740 can buy me a Dudu-osun bathing soap and a Vaseline for the harmattan season, $1 can't do the same in the US. 6. N740 can buy me almost 4 liters of fuel in Nigeria, $1 can only buy you LESS THAN 1 liter of fuel in the US. 7. It cost an average of N280 daily to earn a degree in Nigeria, and it cost an average of N2,650 a day to earn the same in the US. We have and most be a producing nation, and the easiest production is agriculture at the basic level JUST PRODUCE WHAT YOU EAT, currency devaluation is a trap which we might never recover. Ghana has done it 3 times in the last decade and they are still the worst currency in the world. Keep Insulting Yourself Thinking You Are Insulting Nigeria. The challenges we are facing will be over soon Good bless Nigeria **Copied |

detectivejones: Majority of those people leaving Nigerian can not afford the training fee of tertiary institution in those country they moved to, after been train here. Nigeria subsidies the education they have for them. if anybody is migrating its not a problem but it becomes one when you compare the pay cheque here to the one abroad without comparing the education fee too. its unfair to the nation but however migration is part of life and that was how it would continue to be. 1 Like |

Politics / Re: Festus Keyamo Replies Atiku Says PDP's Agreement Caused ASUU's Ongoing Strike by gbengaeed(m): 9:48am On Aug 16, 2022 |
No Govt. can fulfill that agreement, PDP sign it then to score a political point and once the media noise died down it became clear to them what they've got themselves into, bring-in the best party and the best president from anywhere in the world they would never honour that document they would prefer to have a fresh conversation leading to a new era but ASUU don't want fresh agreement because its all about lecturers interest money money money for lecturers, IPPIS and holding on to four jobs at the same time while young academicians couldn't get one. INEC is quiet about the religion thing because if they should take action with would be seen as an action from the APC govt. while do you think Atiku withdraw the first SURE jingle they make. noble71: |

Education / Re: Why A Nigerian University Professor Does Not Deserve More Than 200k A Month by gbengaeed(m): 9:34am On Jul 20, 2022 |
...Tell the Lecturer to quit lecturing and be a Senator, if he so much in love with the pay. Some works are noble work (Law enforcement, Farming, Clergyman/Spiritualist and Teaching) and at the University level you needs to be on top of the game not repeating same textbook for decades and coming to class twice in a month. Some of them have 3-4 lecturing job at major institutions at the same time using the same static methods while young educationist are roaming the street without jobs. They keep going on strike because of a request they made to the then Military Govt. and you know what they collect salary for not coming to work Think About That. ayo2008: 4 Likes 1 Share |

You know an average Nigerian is either an arrogantly uniform or a liar. Transportation section have been witnessing Agbero since the days of colonialism, they are not notorious like this but they there generating revenue for government and coordinating motor parks across the nation. Some people damage the sense of history of their wards by telling them that tinubu create Agbero or that Agbero only happens in Lagos. That is why it's good to be exposed either by travelling or by reading, it helps 1 Like |
Education / Re: BREAKING: Strike Can End Tomorrow – ASUU by gbengaeed(m): 11:04am On Jul 05, 2022 |
...The truth is that, the ASUU strike would continue till eternity they would call it off today and go back to it tomorrow. if you've seen the agreement between ASUU and FG you would know that it's all about money money money for individuals apart from the normal salary. Yes they want Govt. to upgrade infrastructure which is just like 20% of the issue, it would be difficult for any Government to sustain such agreement across the board without failing which is why Govt. is reluctant to fulfilling part of the agreement because once you do that you are under obligation to fulfil everything. This agreement comes to be as a result of re-negotiation of a re-negotiation of another re-negotiation from the Military era. ASUU don't want a fresh talk everything must come from the last agreement or-else we go on strike (well that is how its, they go on strike and come back to collect the salary for the work they didn't do from the FG they are fighting. Can anyone try that in a private sector?) If Obasanjo Administration is Unfair, Yahadura is wicked and Jonathan Administration is clueless too (PDP doesn't value education) is it that Buhari and APC too are the same as previous FG and ASUU is the only saint and an Hero like they always claim (fighting for good education system) ASUU has tested NO WORK GET PAID and they knew it's sweeter than anything you can imagine. I can only blame Nigerians (Parent in particular) people would tell you to vote a good leader into office but wouldn't tell you to shun a bad follower, the people working at the ministry of Education have been there for more than 25 years and yet they are expecting 4-8 years politician to come and solve the problem. This is not Jonathan's or Buhari's problem its the problem of the Ministry of Education both at the Federal and State Level. Hope the GOOD NIGERIANS have a reason to smile for public education system in the nearest future. 6 Likes |
