Market is foot dragging but quick release of results could trigger mini bull.

This statement does not make any sense what so ever- grin grin

are all the companies going to release results at the same time?
the 'mini bulls' we have had here and there, have they been the result of 'results'?
and why do you need the market to have a 'mini bull'? could it be because you are heavily invested in NSE's most sluggish 1st tier bank stock and realise only a general market upswing will stop it from further price decline and get it off the ground, northward?

my advise to you and your FBNH allies is simply this - leave FBNH alone and pay attention to the discussions regarding other stocks - there are stocks out there that do not need any market 'mini bull'

Good morning to you

Oando bounces back from loss with N4.1bn profit after tax

Oando Plc, Nigeria’s leading indigenous energy group listed on both the Nigerian and Johannesburg Stock Exchange, yesterday announced unaudited results for the three months period ended 31 March, 2016, with profit after tax standing at N4.1 billion.

The company’s Q1 results are a welcome contrast for investors and shareholders alike, following Oando’s dismal 2015 financial performance which was significantly impacted by impairments and foreign exchange pressures.

http://nationalmirroronline.net/new/retention-of-mpr-at-12-ll-boost-stock-investment/
The adoption of a flexible foreign exchange rate regime and retention of Monetary Policy Rate, MPR, at 12 per cent will boost investment in stocks, analysts have said.

The Managing Director of APT Securities Limited, Alhaji Garba Kurufi noted that considering current inflation rate of 13.72 per cent, investors will prefer investment in stocks than money market instruments.

Also, analysts at FSDH Merchant Bank Limited noted that trading in equities advanced on the Nigerian Stock Exchange yesterday on the retention of MPR at 12 per cent.

The appreciation recorded in the share prices of ETI, TRANSCORP, Access Bank, Nigerian Breweries and Dangote Cement were mainly responsible for the gain recorded.

Vitafoam Plc led the gainers’ table with 30 kobo or 6.98 per cent to close at N4.60 per share, followed by NAHCO Plc with 22 kobo or 4.82 per cent to close at N4.78 per share. Fidson Healthcare Plc appreciated 10 kobo or 4.76 per cent to close at N2.20 per share,

http://www.slguardian.org/2016/05/new-financial-order-russia-china-placing-heavy-bets-on-petro-yuan/
Petro-yuan is a strategic payment tool which would facilitate switching to a multipolar monetary systematic which would include various currencies and reflect the global balance of power, Mexican economist Ariel Noyola Rodriguez wrote in an article

China has been paying for Russian oil and gas in yuan since mid-2015
This move has helped increase the popularity of the Chinese currency in the global market.

“This creates basis for a new financial order backed by petro-yuan. The Chinese currency would soon turn into the main currency for trade operations in the Asian-Pacific Region,”

other oil-producing countries, including OPEC members, would also switch to yuan payments for oil.

“Many geo-economic powers understand that in order to build a stable monetary system de-dollarization is needed,”

I don't think buying MRS is a good idea. The stock wasn't punished due to it's illiquidity. So it is quite expensive compared to other oil and gas stocks. I don't own this stock and have no plans to buy. It is on full offer because the holders have had their capital preserved and now want to take advantage of the rally in the sector. They can't eat their cake and have it jare.
I have some units of the stock I bought in 2014 I have actually been grateful that price never really came down. They have already started buying from it – are u seeing from about 311k, now 290k on offer? Are u sure it cannot head north from 42.59 (which would mean i should be holding)?

Transcorp formed a doji on Thursday as seen by the tech indicators.

When u are considering the traded volumes, also consider the untraded vols.
That stock was on full bid for the most trading time on Friday.
Fingers crossed. We will watch and see how things unfold. Am not a fan of transcorp though but want to profit from the volatility. Transcorp have many oil wells already acquired. Why are the curbing out such results with all the assets already in their possession?
I understand but do not consider this a primary basis for action as there have been others a few weeks back. I believe you took action based on more than just a doji. Anyway like the true investor that you are you’ve taken necessary action and like you said, all we can do now is watch.

If it goes the way that is expected I will expatiate.

TRANSCORP
In 2013 upon the announcement of the company’s acquisition of the Ughelli plant the stock price surged almost 200%. At the last AGM, Elumelu made the announcement that it is concluding discussions with the NNPC to acquire idle gas plants. The last two days before the April 30th meeting there was significant increases in volumes; 11.8m on the 28th and 29.1m on the 29th and then another large volume of 20.1m on may 6th. However today’s volumes are a far cry from the 100m shares traded on a daily basis just days before the announcement of the Ughelli acquisition.

Elumelu also made mention that the company would increase its power generation from 300 to 800mw from June

Wema Bank plc yesterday sought shareholders approval to enter into discussions, negotiations, and or agreement with any bank, financial or non-financial institution locally or internationally for the purpose of acquisition, merger, and equity investment in such bank or institution or undertake any business combination beneficial to the bank.

The bank also sought the approval of its shareholders to raise additional capital of such amount as shall be appropriate for the business of the bank either locally or internationally through the issuance of tenured bonds, irredeemable preference shares, notes, equity or debts (or a combination of both) loans in any currency, whether or not convertible to shares, or any other methods in one or more tranches and at such interest rates, pricing and terms to be determined by the directors as they deem appropriate.

http://businessdayonline.com/2016/05/wema-bank-positions-for-acquisition-merger-equity-investment/

What will be the effect of this on wema bank's shares. Should we expect it to hit 50kobo?
The meeting on Thursday May 5 discussed seeking shareholders’ approval to issue bonds to raise money for expansion by acquisition of another commercial bank (remember it was granted a national banking licence less than 6 months ago) and also discussed at the meeting was the payment of dividend by end of 2016 (but in May last year Oloketuyi made same promise).
Whether it will move upwards in the coming week/s might be due to budget optimism. Whether it will move downwards might be due to its lacklustre Q1. However, share price is likely to go down before announcement of dividend payout this year. How much will the dividend be; 6kobo?

TRANSCORP - profit decreased by almost half
Cost of sales in 2015 is 42% of revenue
Cost of sales in 2016 is 55% of revenue
You will not see the impact until you view it from this angle;
Revenue increased by 32% from N9.992B to N13.192B
Cost of sales increased by 69.7% from N4.289B to N7.282B (??)
Administrative expenses remained relatively same
Finance cost increased by 24% from N1.460B to N1.812B
So the single factor that has affected the company’s sharp decline in profits is cost of sales. why the sharp increase?
Seems to me like someone is dipping his hand into the cookie jar!! cheesy

ANGOLA, HIT BY COLLAPSE OF OIL PRICES , SEEKS IMF AID

Angola has just sold its soul to the devil. After giving you these funds, the IMF would force you through its terms to devalue your currency, thereby instantly doubling what you would have to repay to them. Instant slavery!

The above is what most Nigerians are unknowingly clamouring for by shouting that Buhari has no policy direction. Foreign investors are running away because Buhari has no 'policy direction,' when in the real sense, the 'policy direction' which the exploiters are citing as their basis to run away is nothing but devaluation of the Naira. The only policy direction they want is an outright devaluation so they can rush in and rake in mega profits irrespective of the detriments to Nigerians in form of inflation. The bait is simple, 'if you devalue and allow us access to your forex reserves at will, we will invest in your country and bring in more forex to help your country.' But it is all scam, this same excuse has been used since the 80's when N1=$2, but the benefits of devaluations never worked in Nigeria. But today, Nigerians are about to play into the hands of these hawks again by accusing the CBN of not devaluing.
