ER-VIEW OF CRISIS Walter views Crisis as something that makes one strive for a different and unusual solution of the problem (44). This implies that Walter’s view is that crisis is positive and solution oriented. Adegbola, averred that Crisis is both negative and positive, it is positive when it’s brings good changes in the society and becomes negative when it is at the stage of destruction of life and properties (18–19). Akintayo eribake, However says that Crisis occurs when there is misunderstanding that graduate to the stage of tension, struggle or quarrel (13). This means Crisis is a natural and certain turning point for negative and positive crucial time from differences in altitudes, beliefs, values, or needs of individuals or groups. However, Adegbola E.A, suggested that Crisis is a process that erupts when a group sees that another group has damaged or about to destroy something that is important to them (28). Abercrombie, postulated in an opinion that Crisis can take place whenever people have contacted an incident stage of conflict which occurs between people in a group and words are probably exchanged which leads both parties satisfied or unsatisfied (46-47). This led the researcher into the five stages of conflicts; stated by Edem Moses, on his lecture note (13). Okai, insists that crisis is prevalent within and between social relations constituted to pursue common goal. Crisis is a universal reality in almost all the societies of the world. Adegbola contributed by saying Crisis can be dysfunctional when it becomes destructive but if it is properly managed it can become functional (28). TYPES OF CRISIS The followings according to Prachi Juneja are considered as types of crisis, otherwise a discussion on types of crisis could be vast or complex since different scholars resorted approaches by which they describe the various kind or types, forms and varieties of crisis. Ethnic crisis: According to George, S. Farrell, who explained that An ethnic crisis is a situation that has reached a critical arena, environmental, juncture between two or more contending ethnic groups (321). This means that crisis may be political, social, economic or religious, because this is the only way in which different religions and ethnics are found in one society. Social institutions crisis: According to Akintayo eribake, who explain that social institutions crisis are those sufferings, pains that institutional societies like schools, Churches, mosque and even the home in which every who started learning passes through (75). Organizations crisis:Adiele N.S. said’ this type of crisis is regarded as the occurrence which happen around associational society. He further implies that were there is organization body there must always be crisis; it is a worst pain or attack that is situated in a state organization (86). Political crisis: Bambela, hold that when two or more parties are involved in a competition then must be Crisis. This could best summarize that the Political parties in Alakuko Akera community are suffering crisis either by many reasons. CAUSES OF CRISIS There are many ways in which one can study causes of crisis since there are many scholars in the field of conflict and crisis resolution but for more clarity this research shall attempt to trace some possible crisis that are within the scope of discussion. In light of Akintayo eribake, who said crisis can be triggered by a wide range of situations including extreme weather conditions, sudden change in employment/financial state, medical emergencies, long-term illness, and social or familial turmoil (76). Edem holds that Steriotyp, Prejudic and Anger are terms that seem to create problems in relationship and society ( . In addition to this Ahuja and Akintayo eribake, hold that causes of religious crisis are held by misinterpretation and exchange of words (77). To follow this up let consider Ethno-Religious Crisis in Lagos state by Tanwa Ashiru on interview, who narrated that Lagos state Police Command averted a religious crisis started by the Hausa Muslim community in Alakuko area of the state .At about 9.05pm, the Ketu division received a distress call that a boy was about to be lynched by some youths because he wrote blasphemous words on their magazine. According to the police, “the man wrote something on a magazine which the Hausa youths said was blasphemous. When other Hausa men saw it, they became angry and seized him. Some of his friends tried to rescue him and that almost started a fight. The police were alerted and they responded quickly and doused the rising tension between the Igbo community and the Hausa -Muslim community”. Religious intolerance among mostly the Hausa Muslim youths continues to lead to clashes across the state. The following day, a violent clash at the abattoir in the Hausa community of Oko-Oba area of Agege, Lagos State, and after few hours claimed one life and left scores injured. The Guardian gathered that the crisis was triggered after a Fulani man allegedly beat up a young Hausa girl over a yet-to-be ascertained matter. The young girl ran home to report to her parents, which incited some infuriated Hausa youths who set out to avenge the beating of their sister. The incident had first started with an exchange of words before it became bloody. They fought with machetes and other dangerous weapons, at the end of which a man was killed and several others seriously injured. It took the intervention of the Commander, Rapid Response Squad (RRS), Olatunji Disu, alongside the Area G Commander to restore peace, while arresting four suspects. Another news source reported the incident as such: At least nine people died during a clash between scrap dealers and cattle sellers at Oko-Oba Abattoir area of Lagos State. It was learnt that the scrap dealers, mostly Hausa, accused the ‘Seriki Fulani’ of supporting the officials of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) to demolish their shanties where they transact business, which falls within the territory of the corporation. The confrontation between the two sides started on Tuesday night but snowballed into a major conflagration on Wednesday. According to Tanwa Ashiru, “The fight was as a result of demolition of some shops and shanties by the government. The Hausa were not happy about the demolition because they felt they were mostly affected since shanties and shops belonging to Fulani were not demolished. The
