Politics › Re: Resolution Of The Northern State Governors Forum Meeting by GEEBITE: 11:19pm On Sep 27, 2021 |
Brilliant submission, good job man. seunmsg: Nobody ever said that rotational presidency is constitutional. It is an established political practice for unity, equity and national cohesion. It was on this basis that the north demanded for power shift in 2015 after Jonathan had completed Yaradua’s term and his own full tenure. It was also on this basis that all southern candidates who were far richer and popular nationally stepped down for Yaradua at the PDP convention in 2007.
So, saying it is unconstitutional is just playing the Ostrich. It was never about the constitution. The north has had its fair share of power from 2015-2023. Exactly on May 29, 2023, a southerner will takeover from Buhari. It is what it is and nothing can change it.
On VAT, I agree only with the part of the resolution calling for all parties to stay action till the matter is decided by the Supreme Court. VAT is a consumption tax and should never be a federal tax in the first place. However, we should all wait for the final judgement so as to avoid confusion in the system.
On open grazing, it remained banned in southern Nigeria. Livestock whatever is none of our business. Anybody that wants to go into cattle business should set up a ranch. It is as simple as that. |

He was the Editor in Chief till he was killed during the IBB regime. Tell Magazine was founded after his death by Nosa Igiebor, Dare Babarinsa, Kola Ilori and Onome Osifo. Easy with hyperboles, what's punchy about an address begging for loan forgiveness and vaccines. Over to IPOB that is focused too much on coercive sit-at-home orders that kill local economy rather than draft a Economic/Political Roadmap to convince the people and carry them along. They need to be more strategic. Most importantly, show clearly the better deal their dream Biafra will offer Igbos as opposed to what Nigeria offers. |

Disingenuous fella, why didn't you mention Dangote amongst his godsons in the third to the last paragraph. I gave up when I saw Mike Adenuga that Obasanjo almost bankrupted and sent EFCC to break down the gate of his house on Oko Awo V/I. Till date Obasanjo and Awujale of Ijebu are not speaking terms because of his cousin Adenuga. It took France arm twisting OBJ because of the heavy investments of ALCATEL and BNP Paribas in Adenuga's telecom's business for them to find a way to grant his GLOBACOM a license after shutting him out of GSM licensing bid .He forfeited $250M auction bid in that process. Ibkhaleel001: PRESIDENT OLUSEGUN OBASANJO (OBJ) TREATMENT & COMING 2023
In the whole 8years of OBJ's administration he did not see a single Hausa/Fulani northerner worthy of appointment as Service Chief, IGP or DG (DSS). Victor Malu, Martin Luther Agwai, Jonah Wuyep, Luka Yusuf, Ibrahim Ogehi, then IGP Tafa Balogun, Musliu Smith, Sunday Ehindero, Mike Okiro up to the DG (DSS) Col. Aare (rtd), were his selected appointees to oversee our security architecture.
Where appointments were to be made from Kano or Sokoto (whole seat of Chaliphate) he would look for the Adamu Baikis, the Solomon Matankaris who are indegenous Christians of the area. If Hausas/Fulanis complained, Obj’s response was, “all the appointees were your people, brothers from the North”. Of course they were; he even used sme tactics to play a very dangerous divide and rule politics with northerners; his arrow - headmen, Jerry Gana & Solomon Lar were part and parcel of the Villa cabals, members of his kitchen cabinet who determined most appointment made by the government Agencies. Google all the very sensitive position then, there was no single Hausa or Fulani there. CBN, Joseph Sanusi later Soludo. Custom Buba Gyan, NNPC Edmund Dakoru, to mention just a few.
Never forget that OBJ flushed out more than 500 soldiers of Northern extraction, from the ranks of Major and above, who held political appointments during the past military administrations, including orderlies and ADCs. Those who survived his hammer, like Bamalli Nuhu were assembled and bombed in the mountainous region; between Benue and Cross River States.
Obasanjo’s civil service reform were mainly targeted at northerners who mostly, (80%) became victims; from NEPA,Maritime, NPA and Aviation etc. Northerners were major casualties. Similarly all the replacements that followed were from his kiths and kins, and his god sons.
Prior to 1999, more than 15 international airlines operate or had their routes to Kano, but Obasanjo made sure he decimated that to only 3 before he left. Very very fresh in our memories is how he stylishly killed all the Northern textiles, groundnuts and cotton pyramids as well as many other agronomic economies; particularly the poultry using the hoax claim of “birds flu” conspiracy that obliterated all major players in the sector, from northern region. He also deliberately opened our boarders for the importation of all kinds of agricultural goods, which tactically killed virtually all local industries in Kano, Kaduna, Gusau to mention just a few. He stated and ensured DIC and Peugeot and Steyr plants became comatose.virtually all critical northern enterprises were put out of business with deadly attendant consequences.
For example, in Kano alone there were more than 5000 factories / industries located in Challawa, Bompai and Sharada industrial estates. Before Obj’s tenure ended he made sure 80% of those factories folded up, and the remaining 20% were operating at half level, below minimal capacities due to his well designed, well executed, skewed economic policies.
Remember the housing, monetization and privatisation policies he used our people to execute? This program was conceptualised and well executed to basically empower his kiths and Kins to owned choice properties in Abuja and Lagos. The privatisation was used to catapult cronies and surrogates, as well as God sons, into multi-billionaires. People like Mike Adenuga, Fola Adeola, Jimoh Ibrahim, Jim Ovia, Chris and the Andy Ubahs, to mention just a few.
Most of these people were, prior to 1999, using night buses to & fro Lagos/Abuja. Incidentally within a span of short period, all were flying private jets, while the country, North in particular was rapidly sliding backwards. One can continue on and on; why the north and northerners tolerated all that, only God knows.
The current clamor for self determination by some states from previous regions are nothing but blackmails that, to me, are dead on arrival. Rather than experiencing the Obj treatment again, it suffices if every single region go its separate way. The north can not afford to make the 1999 blunder again. Democracy is a game of numbers; anybody who thinks he/she is competent to lead us should come out and contest. The north is not ready to concede to any blackmail. |

If Ronaldo with 5 golden balls and a guinness world record is a fraud. Then there is no word to qualify you excite bile. Christiansen: Well said. Like I told someone earlier, Ronaldo moving to England would be the last straw. Epl is the most watched league in the world. The media's and pundits in there are extremely retarďed.
If he impresses very well, which I doubt he's gonna do, then good for him. He'll be watched by almost everyone who follows football from all continents. The media's would hype him.
But if somehow on the long wrong, he gets exposed like the fraud that he is, millions of people are gonna be aware of it since they all watch their live matches and it's also the most followed League.
The pundits who are currently dićkriding him are gonna criticize every living thing out of him.
Man utd just shot themselves in the foot when they purchased him. If they hadn't signed Ronaldo this summer, they would've signed haaland in the next for nothing more than $60m. But it isn't gonna be the case since Ronaldo is gonna be with them for 2 years with option to even extend.
The players at united would all now start searching for cr7 with all their passes which is going to affect the team severely as with juventus.
United fans should enjoy this very moment as they're currently playing and winning against the likes of Newcastle. Come October, they'll be playing Leicester, Liverpool, man city, arsenal, Chelsea etc. I believe Ronaldo would get exposed and his true quality whether still good or now bad shown to the world in that month.
For now, they should enjoy while it lasts We'll wait |

God bless you for speaking my mind absolutely. The EPL is an economy on its own. Reference: It is you that doesn't get the point. Like most who were running round in the past comparing the EPL to Laliga, the English have been clear since the birth of the Premiership in 1992 that it is A SHOW.
And a show it has been ever since complete with all the hype and eye candy professional sports can offer. That is why we watch it. For the drama and the actors, for the scripts you cannot get anywhere else. It is that popularity that hurts and enrages others so much. Because they have said against the english game time and again and I quote, 'that is not how the game is to be played'
I watch and have watched all the leagues in the developed world and there is nothing near the Premiership. Just watch the LaLiga preview shows on DSTV and tell me if you will not fall asleep. All they talk about is weaknesses, faults, inadequacies in search of perfection. Sure they win all the continental trophies but how many teams outside the top 3 are watchable on a recurrent basis....
Please they should leave the Premiership alone and let the 'English Hype' be. They are getting the aspect of growing their brand right and this is reflected in their teams still able to command considerable resources despite the financial difficulties of our time.
If you donot like it cancel your subscription, but I bet you cannot. What else is there to watch..... Laliga.... I laugh... |

A penalty shoot out loss qualifies for a spanking in your definition. Do away with bitterness or hatred of a culture, the English are the major inventor of the media, their language is the most widely spoken in the world. So what do you expect of them if they wont deploy their main assets to propagate their culture. But obviously you hate Ronaldo as well. Christiansen: Their analysis are always one sided. You don't have to make your riposte to him to be ridden of invectives. Even if you had your points well marshalled it still did not justify that. The whole write up in a flowing prose eventually became a tirade. IjeBos: Who pays you to post this propaganda? It's like you just vomitted out all the right wing talking points. Biden's approval is low right now but it's the same as Trump's during his whole presidency! Think about that, you're excoriating Biden for Trump's average approval rating. While saying somehow Trump was a better president because he had the same approval rating THROUGHOUT his presidency. The mental gymnastics your cognitive dissonant riddled brain must do.
And all this Afghanistan propaganda. There was a Senate and House hearing with SoS Blinken this week. You should find it and listen to it. You'll probably feel stupid posting this stuff afterwards.
Here is one especially galling one.
Here is the fact check. https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2021/aug/20/viral-image/no-proof-biden-left-taliban-80b-weapons-or-he-want/
And even the weapons that were left behind were the ones given to the Afghan army. Now dust the cobwebs off that decrepit mind of yours and riddle me this. When should the US have gotten the weapons back form the Afghan army? Should we have taken them before we left when they were fighting the Taliban, or after we left when they would have needed them to keep fighting the Taliban? You see how stupid you sound when you just post stupid things from Facebook or Twitter or wherever else you get you propaganda?
Lastly, it came out this week that Trump after losing the election and after firing his current Sec. of Defense (after the election) secretly had some sycophant's draft an order to remove all Troops from Afghanistan by Jan. 15th so he could take credit for ending the war. Miley his Chairman of the Joint Chiefs found out and was pissed 1.)the order went around the normal process about 2.) It was CRAZY to try that in less than 1 month. He went to Trump and got him to rescind that (imagine the clusterfuck it would have been if they tried to do it by Jan. 15). Milley was so concerned the President had mentally declined, Was CRAZY and may go ROGUE he 1.) brought together all the stakeholders (anyone who could launch weapons and told them to give him an oath that they would follow the normal process (The President can't declare war without a Congressional War Resolution)). He even went as far as to call his counterpart in China, who he speaks with regularly and tell them that we were not going to launch missiles (they had been concerned Trump would and were preparing for such). You think the Afghanistan pullout looked bad, imagine a war with China. And this lunatic is the man you are sitting half way around the world, wasting your data on. I see you want the US to know the same misery Buhari gives you in Nigeria.
Here is a source for Trump's Afghan pullout in Jan. If you don't like CNN put it in google and find your own source. New Woodward/Costa book: Trump secret memo ordering withdrawal from Afghanistan blindsided national security https://www.cnn.com/2021/09/14/politics/woodward-costa-book-trump-afghanistan-memo/index.html Woodward and Costa reproduced the memo in "Peril." The directive was titled, "Memorandum for the Acting Secretary of Defense: Withdrawal from Somalia and Afghanistan," and the memo read: "I hereby direct you to withdraw all US forces from the Federal Republic of Somalia no later than 31 December 2020 and from the Islamic Republican of Afghanistan no later than 15 January 2021. Inform all allied and partner forces of the directives. Please confirm receipt of this order." |

When Macron the French President came to Nigeria in 2016,the only place he requested to go and unwind is Afrikan Shrine. That is Fela's legacy that almost a quarter of century after his death he is still being celebrated. It is absurd to put him on the same pedestal with people singing with synthesized beats with a colossus which sang with a band of at least 25 people at a go.Let these guys perform with a live band and all you get is a flat atmosphere. I have been opportune to watch Fela and all of these artistes bar one in live performance. You might want to compare Bob Mariey and Ras Kimono then. axeman10: Did you read my post? Wizkid is still very much active, no one should judge his music career or his character as a man, he is still developing... He may not even be at his prime yet.
Only when he is done, then people can compare whatever legacies he leaves with other legends.
