About the SA vs Nigeria thing
In the bible God told Abraham, leave your father's house to a land that l would show you.
When there was famine, Isaac wanted to migrate God told Isaac to stay in the land and he prospered.
Nigeria wouldn't favour everyone, South Africa wouldn't favour everyone. So the most important thing is to do as God leads you (for those of you believe in God)
If you say South Africa is a horrible place you are right.
If you say South Africa is a great place you are also right.
Let's not berate any one for their desire to visit South Africa or to migrate legally.
I close with this, if you are coming to South Africa to "hustle" on a visitors visa, you are in for a very bitter experience.
Shalom Shalom |

What address of the embassy should be on the recommendation and introduction letter? Lagos or Abuja?
Thank you. Lagos high commission address |

morpheus24: Nigerians without a legitimate reason should desist from going to SA. If you are visiting, go enjoy your holiday and come back to your abode. If you wish to boycott visiting then find some other holiday destination.
If you are going to school when you finish find your way out of there, the opportunities after graduating are slim.
If you are going there to hustle, that time has passed, you are headed into a den of unemployed, hungry and very angry people. Find your way to some other place.
This is the truth! This is what we keep advocating here. SA is not a place to come and hustle. I hope people listen. |

@ Yupng
Having read your post, I will say that you are deliberately twisting information to suit your narrative.
1. No Nigerian resident in SA on this platform has encouraged illegal migration to SA. I and others have spoken against it several times in this group.
Those coming for visit, we have always advised limit your visit to certain areas and leave at the end of your authorised stay.
2. Every life lost is a terrible loss but everyone who is honest with themselves knows that Nigerians who are killed by police are 99% drug related.
Even the advisory that the Federal government issued clearly said avoid "hot-spots and volatile areas"
The narrative that you are pushing suggests that the whole of South Africa is a war zone which is clearly not the case.
That you have experienced hatred from South Africans does not invalidate the account of people who haven't and it also doesn't invalidate yours either.
Can you point out with specific references the so called "falsified information" that Nigerians in SA have spread here?
Emotions are high but please let's be objective in our communication and present a balanced view of the situation and let people take an informed decision. |

@ TYPOP and realestniggah well said. I really don't understand why people who aren't in South Africa would be arguing with people who actually live in South Africa. With police escorts sef, there are certain places I would never set foot in Johannesburg. That said any one who decides not to come to South Africa based on news reports, it's well within their rights to do so. If you are in Nigeria or elsewhere, you can't know the situation better than Nigerians who actually live in South Africa People who will board that airpeace flight are people who most likely planned to travel this weekend but have seen free flight |

It's quite easy to comment on the situation based on what you see in the news and on social media.
Any one who has legitimate reasons to visit South Africa has nothing to be scared of.
There are certain areas that are volatile and hotpots, those areas are to be avoided. Even before all these attacks, these are areas that people who know South Africa well wouldn't visit at all.
These attacks are limited to certain areas.
That said people would still visit South Africa either way.
My only advice is plan your movement well. |

klexycole: Applicants should take note. I was bounced at VFS last week Thursday (15th August) and wasn't allowed to submit a tourist visa application after I got a mail from them to come for submission.
Imagine the disappointment. In fact, no reason was given. I mailed them same day and here's what I got from them today. See below.
While SA is busy granting Visa Free Opportunities to other countries, they are here playing Nigerian - it's pathetic. Sorry about it. I understand they only receive 230 applications daily. |

TYPOP: Please note that the following are not for certification in Abuja. Just to add this in case you've missed it. Your ID document (or PR letter) also needs to be certified. You can get this done at the SA High Commission in Lagos if you are no longer in SA. If you are still in SA, certify it from any police station and scan to them. Please let the stamp show very well if you are doing it in SA. Those VFS guys are something else and they may want to reject the application if the stamp is not showing VERY well.
In short, any document you are sending to them from SA should be certified, aside from your invitation letter to them of course. @ bolded is very true o. If the police stamp isn't showing well, they would reject it. So tell them at the police station to press the stamp very well o Had to do it twice |

Blastedholligan: There's this sweet Akata I met on fb, we are getting along well and she's thinking we could spend our lives together. She's a single mother of one, older than me with one year and a medical assistant.
Now the problem is, she doesn't really earn too much and she has accumulated alot of loans that could amount to 50k dols and she wants to acquire another to study at the University for 4years, calculating all these could amount to like 150k dols and I've not even talked about my own cos I'll have to sponsor myself through school.
Another issue is that I don't think I'm really ready to settle down cos I really need to hustle and make money to help my family if I eventually travel before marrying and I intend on doing a course here in Nigeria for Digital Marketing to help me secure a nice job.
My problem now is, I'm scared of marrying someone who has acquired these loans cos Las Las na me go still follow pay wetin I no sabi.
Please, I need a clear guide on what I should do cos I don't wanna be selfish here with her by using her to get to the USA, I'm very willing to let go of her if I have very good reasons to.
Pardon my scattered words. You bear no responsibility for her debts |

twnklshop: A Google search I made for the following questions directed me to this your post. This is a January 2018 post it's possible that laws could have changed. The way you answered the question showed you are quite knowledgeable on the matter and it made Google to put your post on the first page of search results. So I decided to quote you and ask you a few questions.
These are the questions;
1. Is a Nigerian citizen (man) on a tourist visa allowed to get married to a South African citizen (woman) in South Africa?
2. If the answer to question 1 is Yes, after the marriage can the man apply for a temporary residence permit in South Africa or must he return to Nigeria to apply for it?
3. If the answer to question 1 is No, in what way can a Nigerian man get married to his South African fiancee and move to South Africa without breaking either Nigerian or South African law?
Thank you. Short answers 1. Yes 2. Return to Nigeria to apply for Spousal Visa 3.You can't change status on a visitors visa hence the reason for number 2. Hope this helps. |

Let me drop some tips for any one who wants to do SAQA evaluation for masters.
Have certified copies of the following documents
1. Your degree certificate 2. Your transcripts
Plus the other application forms from SAQA
Without these two you will get an incomplete documentation email
Then have someone you can liaise with at your exams and records office or whatever the name is at your institution.
This is to minimise delays as some schools can take forever to respond. Also sometimes saqa may send incomplete transcript, so that's why you would need someone on the inside to help you attend to these things speedily.
Is two weeks possible, theoretically yes (assuming your institution responds promptly) else it could take you as much as three months to get it done.
If you have a bachelors degree, you only need your certificate plus transcript
If you have OND + HND, you need both certificates and transcripts.
Waec/Neco is only for people who are starting first degree not post graduate. |

TYPOP: This is not entirely correct. It makes sense, but it is not necessarily the case.
He/she was not asked to clarify. He/she was told he/she could appeal. So it's his/her decision to make.
While I am in support of appealing, the OP must note that appeals take a long time to be concluded and it is not certain that the decision will be reversed. However, since you intend to wait for some time before re-applying, then maybe it won't be a waste of time to appeal the decision. In my opinion, appeal and put the record straight. It's worth it. The agent already damaged your reputation. It's time to start getting it cleaned. My point exactly |

And send it via courier to the address on the refusal letter. |
