Juwohn: This is not entirely True. Address the reasons adequately and reapply. Trying to appeal the decision is just a waste of time and a fruitless exercise. If they does not respond within the ten day window, he will be banned. So according to your logic, how can he reapply when he ignored the consulate's request for clarification? They are already have suspicions about his bank statements and have given him the opportunity to clarify. If he doesn't respond, the next time he applies, it will be a straight denial with the reason being fraudulent account statement on file |

cucumbar: I just got a ups mail and visit visa wasn’t given. Reasons: 1. insufficient funds to embark on trip( had about 1.460m in the account with very healthy transaction flow)
2. Bank Statement transactions lacks credibility (wonder what they mean by that)
I was told I could appeal within 10 working days. Do I appeal or apply again later? If so, how long do I wait before I re-apply?
Is there anyone that was denied on these grounds and later issued a visa on subsequent applications? Do a breakdown detailing your expenses out of the 1.40m E.g flight xyz naira Accommodation Local transport Feeding Shopping Is your bank statement legit? Did you have lump sum deposits? They are giving you an opportunity to prove that the account statement is genuine and that you can fund your journey. If don't appeal, it's by default an admission of guilt and you fit chop ban and they would record you as having submitted fraudulent documents. All tha best |

SouthieGirl: I totally agree 100%. Jo'burg is not ideal for a naive tourist. The phone I bought just before I came here, they have moved it today at a mall. Not even CBD o, close to Sandton sef. My friend's cash, moved from her bag too. How they do it is amazing. The crime rate is something else, you always have to keep watching your back, front, sides.. tiring!!! You pipo should stop painting Jo'burg like one bad place. These things could have happened anywhere else in South Africa. It's also your responsibility to be security conscious at all times. |

Please note i dont have anybody or any place to reside, but i know if i move over there i will find accomodation please what type of visa do i need to apply for and how much will it cost me and again what are the necessary documents that i need to have before applying for the visa!!
Thanks waiting for quotes! Don't let anyone deceive you. Life in South Africa as an illegal immigrant is extremely hard. That your 500k will barely sustain you for 3 months. As someone rightly stated, use that money for business. A word is enough for the wise. |

mroyato: To begin with, if you have plans to travel by June I advice you apply at least 6 weeks before your proposed departure date.
Secondly, visa application fee is less than 40k if you apply by yourself. However you need to find out the list of required application documents.
Depending on how early you book your flight and where you are going to flight prices vary. For instance, flights to joburg are usually cheaper. Less than 150k for a return ticket to joburg. Flights to Capetown and other cities are usually expensive. On a average, keep a budget of 250k.
For accommodation, I will advice you try airbnb. It's usually much cheaper and gives a variety of choice to make. If you have a big taste for houses, keep a budget of 100 dollars per night. If you are going to SA for the first time I advise you don't go to Joburg on your first visit Capetown is a very lovely city. You will love it.
Lastly, nobody books flight and accommodation during visa application. When you get to vfs, those guys hustling around would help you for a token.
I hope this helps. This your information get K leg sha |

Deji63: I bagged a PhD five years ago from Chicago Illinois and know for a fact that a lot of PhD holders in Nigeria have very low IQ and interacting with them makes you wonder how they became "doctors" of letters. Hmnn. I wonder why a PhD holder from Chicago Illinois would make very sweeping generalisations it seriously puts the quality of your PhD in doubt. |

It's all about wearing gown& title and answering doctor that their levels of intellect don't match. A majorly for green pasture and to start up something, what kind of visa is suitable for such endeavor and also can tourist visa be extended while in S. A. And again, how easy is it to acquire S. A work permit. Plz I need some advice on this guys. Thanks Short summary. SA is not exactly welcoming to economic immigrants unless you have critical skills. As per greener pastures, the grass is not necessarily greener on the other side. Life as an illegal immigrant is SA can be very challenging. |
