DrOptimistic: Thanks much for your advice. Just as you said, I have checked YouTube and I have listened to experience of people and Vlogs owned by Africans schooling there. There are fascinating so to say.
Their system give room to do menial jobs while schooling. Most Universities in the Caribbean admit during the September, January and May session. What we know as Pre-clinical in Nigeria, is done in the Caribbean while the Clinical rotations is done in the US. There are lot of Universities in the Caribbean that you can check out, if money is not an issue. Can i get your whatsapp contact..please |

Intelligentdude: HOW TO GET FULLY-FUNDED SCHOLARSHIP(S).
For MSc/PhD Scholarship:
1) Go to University pages in different countries, look for your course, and email professors in your field. (This is the best and most efficient).
 For MBA Scholarship:
What do you need?
i. A strong GRE/GMAT score or
ii. Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Certification
With any of these, you will naturally get funding for your MBA.
2) Look for Government/school-funded Scholarships in different countries. Check their criteria, and apply.
Target Sweden, Germany, France, UAE, Australia, Poland, Norway, Japan, UK, US etc.
Note that this method is more competitive because it is already public.
3) Look for advertised Positions by Lecturers or Departments: Sometimes, lecturers advertise scholarship positions in their labs.
4) There are many schools in the USA where you don't need to send emails to Profs. They specifically mention on their website that all admitted students will get funding.
So, you have to make sure your application is competitive enough.
Check their Admission requirements and apply.
5) If you have a good proposal, email the Grad co-ordinators of various schools, send them your proposal, and tell them to connect you with a Prof. in that field.
This has worked for many people, especially in Australia.
6) Use your social media well: I know people who have gotten scholarships by sending dms to Professsors on Twitter and LinkedIn.
Your social media profile and page must make sense, and your message must carry essential info.
You have to Rt and share things relatable
7) Use a clear display piture and let your header make sense.
Ada, enough of using that half-naked pictures.
Make it average if not professional.
Use LinkedIn a lot. Package it and make it look nice.

DrOptimistic: Good day medical students and medical doctors
I am a medical student in a Federal University in Nigeria, but due to the protracted ASUU strike and incessant strike actions embarked upon by ASUU yearly, I decide to source for other means abroad. I have been offered admission to study M.D program (Doctor of Medicine) in a University in the Caribbean (Barbados to be precise) and new session is to commence this September, but I don't know whether to go for it or not. So I have bothering questions to ask.
My questions are: 1. Is a Barbados a good country to study Medicine?
2. What can you say about studying Medicine in the Caribbean and studying Medicine in Nigeria? Which one is more preferable and better? Which one will you advise someone to go for?
Your advice will be much appreciated. congratulations on your admission bro. Regarding your first question...you might be able to get some answers on you tube. Some African folks studying there could have YouTube channels dedicated to documenting their experiences. Vlogs also could help get a better picture Jakpa is the surest way now.. this incessant strike action won't cease this year. I'm sure there'll be series of others . ASUU will definitely conjure up something next year, the one after that etc. I'm also looking for a way out of this corntree, if i could get some pointers from you... it'd be much appreciated Was thinking of going for private University, but a friend of mine was like, what's the big difference, private is expensive, outside's also expensive. If i wan to spend, then just take the risk and spend on the real expensive afterward since the goal was to finish in Nigeria and travel out, i won't have to worry about that again since I'm already out. I'm pretty sure their system will make room for doing little jobs while schooling, not to mention the plethora of opportunities when one is done with schooling. Anything but this corntree abeg |

Southernigbo: She been previously married twice, but on each occasion the husband died after 2 to 3 yrs. Now she is finding it difficult getting a husband and she is still very young and beautifu. Some ppl who other wise have asked for her hand think there is superstious about her, but actually there is not she is just a normal lady and nothing more who was only unlucky to have had the life of a peculiar type of trial. There's nothing normal here. You see a pattern and you say it's normal, how often do you see these type of things happening |

Govt needs to look into these incidents seriously no be all these live jackets talk...from my experience in Cross river some of these boat parks are very careless, their drivers worse still.. they hardly maintain their boats. I can remember one i entered, this speed boat stopped three times in the middle of the river, the driver was busy Changing from one old plug to another. Sometimes self they'll over load the boat and don't care cuz they're really strong divers and swimmers |

7thgeneration: Hello everyone how can I prepare for the jamb exam effectively. Should I make use of their syllabus? Or past questions? I have limited time to read which is around 3hrs. I believe that should suffice for one topic every day. My target score is 370. school UNN. I need advice from the great men here. Syllabus ke Just Get sharp text books (very necessary) Study/ brainstorming partners.. you'd be amazed the extent to which online brainstorming via WhatsApp, telegram and Nairaland would push you, keep you abreast and on your toes. But if you're flying solo, just get good texts (ask around from high scorers), IMHO, nothing like syllabus You Go Jack 24/7 even in your dreams Read read read and read If you've got only 3hrs tops...make it count All the best |

SF123: PLS SOMEONE SHOULD HELP A DEPRESSED BROTHER BRO NO STAY HOUSE OO I'd advise you start a course while prepping for another jamb next year. It's not easy but It's only year 1 you can handle it. Hope things turn out fine, but bruv honestly anything can happen ( just keep that in mind). Who knows you might get enuf motivation in sch seeing med students Starting a course now has it's perks for when you finally get med. |

poshemmanuel: Admission is for everyone indigene or non if you meet the cut off. 249 is okay for medicine in Delsu if he can perform extremely well in pume. Ruggedfighter is absolutely right biko I've been in Delsu for another program of course before getting med in UNICAL. Delsu's post utme is something else, 50 questions in about 25mins or thereabout ..the aptitude test is mad enuf to filter 300s..this I've seen and its so cuz you can't prepare enuf for it (YES....past questions might do little to nothing in helping you, they will not repeat questions or even the format). Its more of smartness than being book smart. I can't say enuf ( if only Salarys were here to shed more light), but 249 is a no go for DELSU. Sadly, same applies to most schools I'd advise the chap to probably get into another course and fire again. 21 years self is nothing. If He'd been on this thread way back, He'd see MEN who have written jamb like 5-6 times still vying for med. Lot of folks in my class are above the said age |

Lets be realistic at times. What chance does 254 really stand for med in most unis?? Don't even think those with 300+ are complacent enough to sleep on those scores ....baba even 320s 330s 340s will jack with every muscle They'll put in same effort as you for post utme, probably more self All these motivation and optimism is pretty surreal And to that lad saying go and smash UNICAL post utme you make it sound so easy P.S I'm a student of Unical and the competition is every where All the best tho |
