Jobs/Vacancies › Re: I Was Penciled Down For A Cleaners Job, But Got Lecturing Job Instead by Generaloluseye: 3:18pm On Dec 03, 2020 |
Adonis86: I once made a post here in September about a job challenge I was having in the university where I work. I wrote about how my department was using me to do donkey odd jobs, despite having a masters degree from the department and running a PhD.
My HOD was promising me a job which never materialized. As a result, I was worried and wrote on this forum then got some advice. Thanks for the godly advice that suggested I should pray over the quagmire.
So, after the prayer, I was led by the Spirit to write the vice chancellor of the university relating the problem to him. Despite the fact that, the university since last year ending has placed ban on submission of employment letter or application letter for employment. But as my case was of special interest to God, I wrote a simple plea and submitted, miraculously it was not rejected. In fact, the next working day, my phone rang as I picked it, it was from the vice chancellor's office. I was summoned, as soon as I reach. He demanded for my cv and credentials, which I handed in to him. Seven weeks after, I went to the personnel unit of the university, only to be offered an appointment letter as a lecturer based on my academic qualifications. This made it the second appointment letter for lecturing job that I'm receiving this year.
I therefore return all the glory to God
Back to my department where I've been used as errand boy, everyone there were surprised at the development, though some were not happy for me, while others were having premonition about my new position. Even the HOD was telling me to remain on his side since I already know most of his office secrets, that I shouldn't sell him out. He now gives me all the deserved and undeserved preferential treatments.
I'm so much elated at the way everything played out according to the will of God. He gave me a six digits salary job in a federal university, despite the fact that I made 2.2 in my First Degree. He did all these for me without using a middleman. Even gave me an earlier appointment as a lecturer too in a private university earlier in the year.
God bless everyone in this forum and those with godly advice that saw me through the moment of my trial. God bless you all and make your dreams come true within the remaining part of this year in Jesus name, Amen! I read the first thread and I am very happy for you. I am also not surprised that some people in your department are not happy about your success. Just be careful with them and don't forget where you are coming from and what God did for you. Don't treat students badly and when you get to the top, be humane to others. Shalom |

Arinze01: Hi Nairalanders!
I recently got job offers from 2 different companies. I'm to resume next month for the both.
Location ; Lydia is at V.I and Lekki is at Banana Island.
Remuneration: Lekki Gardens pays higher a little.
What do anyone know about Lydia Investment Ltd?
I have searched for employees' reviews. Sadly, didn't see any.
Help me out! What are JD of the two offers? Is the Lydia job a marketing job? I know it is a Fintech anyway and what about the lekki gardens? Furnish us with this and we can advice better. |

yinkaadesegha: SHARE YOUR DREAMS AND THE HOLYSPIRIT WILL HELP INTERPRET THEM Good pm sir. Kindly assist with these dreams. 1. Walking barefooted to go and by something near by. Something told me to go and wear sandal but I ignored saying the place is not far. 2. I feel aroused sometimes in the dream and it is like I want to shed sperm and I will start praying and i won't discharge the sperm. 3. In real life, someone made mention of a similar thing towhat I wrote in no 2 to you last week and I was thinking of asking you too but I didn't. However in my dream, I went to a meeting and i saw the G.O of the church I attend, he said he wants to do counselling and I was the no 1 on the queue and my plan was to tell him about the dream I just mentioned in No 2. However I was drinking betamalt and I relinquish my position to No 2, also three ladies wanted to stay in my front again but I did not allow them. The G.O attended to the first person and the adults in the church said it is time for him to minister to them and that was how he stopped. He delegated the counseling to another pastor and the pastor said he will first attend to adults who came for counselling. 4. I took a car and I wanted to collect change. I was suppose to collect #100 but I was given a tattered #100 which I rejected and after argument, I was given a neat but not new #1000 note. I was wondering what was going on. |

SeedofAbraham: Good morning Nairalanders,
I've been having sleepless night recently as I've been confused in decision making due to the fact that I'm not well experienced about Job matters.
I presently got an offer at a State Public Service with GL 8 Salary Scale of 63k+ monthly (though it's poor) but with a rest assured constant Promotion every 3 years subject to success in Promotion Exercise. There's also hope that in the next 18 years, I'll get to the Directorate levels (GL 15 - 17) where the Pay Structure seems better with Jumbo rise compared to the poor salary structure of GL 7 - 14... Meaning that I'll have to endure till then before enjoyment start coming. Please note that in addition to Promotion every 3 years, this State Public Service don't owe workers salary as they pay in due time as we all know that Public Service has Job Security. Also, I hope by God's Grace that I become a Permanent Secretary if I decide to choose this path while enduring the Salary (I can switch to Federal Parastatals if the Job Offer comes up later though).
On the other hand, I'm about to get a Full time Staff offer from a Multinational Company (Headquarter is based in the US) with more than 120k Salary for a start. There's Career growth and the chance of living comfortably & enjoying life is cool compared to the State Public Service in terms of Salary. We all know that Private Organisations can decide to lay off workers at any time as there's no Job Security. Also, I don't know if Multinational Companies usually lay off only Contract Staff or they can decide to lay off Permanent Staff as well... Though, the Multinational Company have a Pension Scheme for their Staff & didn't lay off workers during this COVID-19 Pandemic as they were operating during the lockdown since they provide essential services.
I wasn't born & brought up with a Silver Spoon and I never pray to struggle in life henceforth as Poverty must die. I'm a Second Class Upper graduate with proven abilities and outstanding performance as I'm a Problem Solver.
I need the assistance of experienced Nairalanders as your advice and point of views with detailed explanations will be highly appreciated. The name of the coy will he helpful |

slydog: Underemployment is another serious issue. I have a PhD in Economics, but I work as a marketer in a commercial Bank where your certificate really don't mean anything. Hopefully by first quarter of next year, I will resign and look for something else to do. The banking system just dulls one. Are you a contract staff there? |
