DozieInc:
Less than two months to the inauguration of the Eighth Senate, some Igbo senators are set to leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The APC, which clinched majority Senate seats in the March 28 National Assembly poll, is set to constitute the leadership.

Ahead of that, it was learnt at the weekend that three ranking PDP senators from the South-East had opened talks with top leadership of the APC.

At least, two of the senators, it was gathered, opened a channel of communication with one of the senators favoured to clinch the Senate president seat from the North- Central.

The lawmaker reportedly told his ranking colleague that the defection, coming from a high-ranking member of the Seventh Senate could not be treated with kid gloves.

The senator told his colleague that he would have to consult the national leadership of the PDP because the gentleman’s arrangement was that since there was no ranking senator from the South-East, at least, until now, “if he gets a positive nod from the APC leadership, the deal can be perfected on the day of inauguration which will then allow him to clinch the desired slot.”

The senator was yet to get back to his colleague as at the weekend because the APC national leadership was yet to conclude on the zoning arrangement for leadership positions in the National Assembly. But the snag in the deal was that the South- East senator was about being checkmated by two of his colleagues from the region who had powerful links with two former military heads of state. The former military men played significant roles in the March 28 victory of the APC.

Defecting to another party, other than the one on whose platform a lawmaker was elected can only be possible after taking the oath of office on inauguration day, after the Senate president had emerged.

The procedure was stipulated in Orders 1,2,3 and 4 and the Senate Standing Orders 2011 (as amended).

It was, however, learnt that the lobbying senators were hopeful of securing an understanding with the leadership of the APC, while the defection could be effected after the composition of the new National Assembly.

APC should resist this with all passion......

Even if they must allow these Thieves to join APC, let them remain ordinary floor members of senate.

I only highlighted and copied d 3 paragraphs that have to do with our argument from www.ngrguardian.com thread here on Nairaland. Pls, I ll want you to read this.

The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, is from the South East. Incidentally, Hon. Ihedioha and PDP governorship candidate of Imo State was a co-rebel with Hon. Aminu Tambuwal in June 2011, when they disrupted the PDP power sharing formula then that had zoned Speakership to the South West and Deputy Speakership to the North East. The duo upset the apple cart then and left the two zones without any significant positions for the past four years.

The Tambuwal-Ihedioha political conspiracy resulted in an unfair formula, which has made both the Vice President (No.2 position) and the Speaker) No.4 to be from the same North West. In the same vein, the rebellion led to a situation whereby both the Deputy Senate President and the Deputy Speaker are from the same South East Zone.

This is the thing: In the outgoing administration’s power sharing formula that reechoed at the last Yoruba Academy meeting two weeks ago, the Vice President, Senate President and the Speaker are from the North (West & Central) while the President, Deputy President of the Senate and the Deputy Speaker are from the South (South & East) respectively............

So much have been said so far by people from different works of life/ shades of opinion about the suitability of the candidature of Sen saraki as the next president of the Nigerian Senate.I must start,by saying that saraki is perhaps one of the most finest and most eloquent senator in the out going 7th national assembly. For the sake of the continuous peaceful coexistence of all the ethnic group in Nigeria, i believe(even though its my personal opinion), that he should not be considered for that exalted position. Saraki, may be from north central geo political zone, but that does not dispute the fact that he is a YORUBA MAN.It will not be fair to other major tribes in nigeria for both the no 2 and 3 positions to be occupied by Yoruba. I don't have any thing personal against the Yoruba race, because, my mother is Yoruba. I am writing from the point of view of someone who believes in an all inclusive federal republic of Nigeria.
Pls keep your opinion to yourself. Have you been following Nigeria politics for the past 4 years and see how your people filled up the entire system with Igbos.....

Take a look at this list and tell me how u feel

President - Bayelsa
Petroleum-Bayelsa
Secretary To Federal Govt- Igbo
Deputy Senate-Igbo
Deputy Speaker Igbo
Finance Igbo
CBN IGBO
etc

The only one that was left for Yoruba was Jamb Registrar-Ojerinde.

Jonathan even made an attempt to remove him and place Igbo there before Yoruba elders intervened and warned him from replacing Yorubas with Igbos.

CrazyMan:
The incoming administration should not use their victory to settle scores, rather they should use it to unite this nation.

Appointments should be made based on merit, integrity...etc, and not based on past grudges with a particular ethnic group.

Truth is Nigeria cannot move forward if we embrace a particular ethnic group and castigate another.

Buhari said it times without number that he's government is going into intensive restructuring of the nations power, academic, sport, agriculture...etc sector. And to achieve this, we have to be united and work together.

To those who said igbos betrayed the yorubas, you should know that this is democracy, every one has the right to vote whoever he wishes to vote. We joined forces with the south west in 2011 to install GEJ but he failed us. Unfortunately most south easterners preferred to give him a second chance rather than embrace change. It was their choice. The media should stop making it look as if we committed a great sin by voting GEJ.

To my fellow igbos. Well I've said this and I will say it again. Jonathan's administration was of no benefit to the south east. It only enriched a few of our leaders, but had no positive impact on the majority; its time we unite and embrace the new administration.
Well written and more grease to your elbow. However, the truth must be spoken at all time and that is why I am saying this. Undoubtedly Igbos voted for Jonathan not cos of second chance but all out to spite the South west and the North.

I expected Igbos who usually cried about marginalisation; who claimed to have felt the negative impact of marginalisation to do the right thing when the opportunity presented itself but it was even worse than what it has always been prior to Jonathan government. And guess what, It was the same story under Aguiyi Ironsi regime.

Nothing last forever in life. Can Igbos come forward today and talk about marginalisation in this 21st century Nigeria?

Obansanjo administration brought the likes of: Soludo, Bath Nnaji, Ngozi Iwealla, Oby Ezekwedili, Andy Uba, Nafdac lady, Nnamani, Okadigbo, Wabara etc

Now look at Hausa/Fulani tenure, they are already opened to all possibilities from the East so as to integrate them into this new administration. Why is life all about me not others should be a topic among Igbos.

peace out

Listen young man, life is all about disappointment and ability to deal with it via wisdom; your father, mother, elder, younger ones must have disappointed you at a point in time but because of your undying love for these people, it becomes difficult for you not to forgive them. Naturally, you forgive them and move on with the same level of love you have always had for them. And of course your own children would disappoint you at a point on time and the same undying love would kick in which will eventually lead to your forgiveness.

At this point, it's not all about the relationship u had with her but about your fear for God, Life itself and what the future holds for you. Who knows why God put you in the position of helping her? However, you seems to have failed or failing the test of life. Guess what, if God does not need your assistance at that point when she was going through that pain, He has His way of doing His own things(Bible says: His way is not always our ways). Trust me, your journey from where you were might not have been possible if God does need you there or she might have had a clean and hitch-free abortion but I believe that God wants you there

The same girl might turn out to be part of your destiny in the future, not necessarily as a wife or girlfriend. Life is not all about today but tomorrow.

Here is story of a man who betrayed me....

I remember an extremely wealthy man who did everything to frustrate my life during my service year. I was used for their wealth; I mean my account was used to embezzle as much money as my Account could take without getting paid for it. My friends asked me to disappear with this money but I said No. Why, I knew right from day one that I would be wealthy in life; it's a natural feeling that comes to you and I refused to touch their money until the man relocated abroad. He tendered his resignation letter and left Nigeria for US and this was done so as to avoid EFCC during the famous Soludo' bank consolidation/mergers. Lest before I forget, their house in Maitama was supervised from foundation till completion by me and I ensure those foreign dogs were well fed with Tantalizer or Mr Biggs left over which was usually sold in Kg then.

He got to US and transfer all his money from my Account to his own Account; fair enough but my problem started after that. He wanted to get rid of me and he did everything to achieve this. I was eventually persuaded and begged by our church's pastor and parents to leave Abuja for south west with a promise to sponsor my trip to US. I left my newly found Job and made my way to south west.

To cut the long story short, after 3 years in US, I met the same man through his wife who remain my friend. She never stopped apologising on behalf of her husband though. This man was in US and needed someone to stand in for him as a guarantor but couldn't find. His wife suggested my name and was shocked to find out I live in US. I eventually stood in for him and what he needed was later approved and we are both living in UK today. However, guilty conscience has never allowed him to be free around me....

An average igbo man is a business man, we all know this

I confirmed this statement after the 2015 presidential ellection

Some igbo guys told me that they (igbo ppl) r not moved by politics, but rather by business,

An igbo man prefer to go into business, the truth speaking igbos on NL will confirm it

So if u give igbo man any seat in government, he. Will turn it into business

So nothing join igbo man with politics

Thanks
Shut up Liar from pit of hell. You guys have never disappointed fellow Nigerians whenever they predict Igbos next line of actions.

I told some Nairalanders here before last week presidential election that if Buhari wins the election, that Igbos would change their music from being politicians to business men and here we are today. Music is changing....... ........ What a shame!!!

I can prove it anywhere that without arm robbery and drug smuggling; Igbos aren't doing any business. They have just been stereotyped as business men only in Nigeria but that is far from the truth to business analysts. 80% of those Igbo guys selling spare parts and owners of Boutiques are nothing but armed Robbers. And If you are in doubt of this submission, pls check the names and businesses of 98% of Armed Robbers killed over night in the North central and south west and you ll realise they are all Igbos who are into one business or the other. If you want to see real business men without robbery assistance , go up North and West and If you doubt my submission, come to US and UK where there are million of Nigerians, the only Nigerians doing business in these two countries are Yorubas. How come Igbos are not ready to compete in UK and US market with their fellow Nigerians? The answer is as good as your thought; no access to robbery. How many industrialists (not all these Edidi lane Idumota or Aba headquartered businesses you know) can they be proud of? None

So, spare me all dis crap, don't feed us with this your business bullshit. Why didn't you say all this when you guys "were"(from 29th May)occupying all the sensitive governmental positions under Jonathan administration and making jest of Westerners. Why didn't you tell us that those positions should be given to other Nigerians while you guys focus on your businesses.

My guy,

Ibos are bitter because when Jonathan lost the election Ibos future became desolate.

The Ijaws are stewpid for entrusting their first presidency and power to the care and custody of Ibos. Jonathan was a treasure....he was a deputy governor, governor, vice president and then president....thats a fvkng FIRST and top rate record in political ascendancy anywhere in Africa.

Equally, he was naive and untested in national politics and power and so someone so vulnerable and yet impressionable must be entrusted in the hands of savvy politicians with all-round know how. The Ibos do not fit that profile. So how did he end up in their hands?

An academic study is needed on this amazing wonder.

Ibos ruined Jonathan and his administration.

Jonathan on his own was not fully matured to lead.....he was a meek natured person. Ibos took advantage of that to Nigeria upside down.

They gave themselves rosy appointments in prime cabinet offices in the name of Jonathan.

They appointed their fellow Ibos to DG positions in crucial parastatals like financial, economic, ports authority, aviation and immigration positions to provide cover for their shady import deals and smuggles through the ports and borders, all in the name of Jonathan to boost trade for their fellows in the trade business.

They weakened law and enforcement and the judicial system, removing non-Ibos they suspected will prosecute their criminality and put in their place enablers who chop money and watched as Ibos terrorized everywhere with kidnapping and armed robbery domestically and internationally dragged the Nigerian image in mud from Ghana to Kenya to South Africa, Malaysia, Dubai, Pakistan, India, China....carrying drugs and becoming a nuisance and embarassment, all in the name of Jonathan.

Their largese is ended.....Jonathan is out, crime will be prosecuted, immorality, at home and abroad will be prosecuted, Ibos control of the ports, immigration, finance, imports is all coming to an end.....and these mofos are very bitter.

They kept Jonathan drunk and misinformed. After they pointed to him Yorubas were his enemies and Ibos were the pillars of his administration, Jonathan went to Yorubaland and called our leaders rascals....and then few weeks later went on national tv and declared Ibos were the pillars of his administration.

Well.....at quarter to go, Jonathan suddenly saw the light! But too late.... All his eight visits in one month to Yorubaland were too late and too little to save him.

Ijaws should take a toll of Jonathan's administration and learn their lesson and correct going forward. When you have a son or daughter in an executive position, be sure to keep Ibo at a safe distance or you risk getting infected with their "cluelessness".

....das all! cool
You are on point bro. Jonathan failed to learn from history; he ought to have seen Aguiyi Ironsi regime and what Igbos made that regime to look like.

However, the bolded line; the victim mentality is working on you subconsciously.

But how is that achievable in present day Nigeria? Perhaps you are one of those that does not understand Nigeria politics. If you know the damage Igbos have done to themselves politically in Jonathan administration, you ll not even suggest that.

Have you notice in the last couple of days how Igbos have suddenly became independent of govt, grin grin grin grin.

As far as Northerners are concerned, Igbos should forget their votes and without Northerners votes; it ll be an impossible mission and coming to Yorubas for their votes ll be suicidal in their thinking unless they would prefer to be deputised by Northerners....

The only way an Igbo man could give these Northerners the run for their numbers in terms of population, money and rigging is to form alliance with all parts of southern Nigeria and and let the middle belt be d deciding territory - Kwara, Kogi ll be splitted into two as a result of Yorubas there and part of Benue will definitely go with d Igbos... ....

For you to know how wicked Igbos are, they are not happy with arrest of Alex Ekwueme till date forgetting how they killed; they killed other ethnic group leaders for goodness sake. And the affected ethnic groups have moved on without holding any grudges against Igbos but they are hell bent to bring another war...

However, they killed and maimed other regions' political leaders while they ensured that their own politicians who formed the central govt then were left off the hook. How wicked can Igbos be? How stupid can Igbos be as a tribe? How mischievous can Igbo be?

Gej is an embarrassment to Nigeria.
That man called Jonathan is the most wicked, tribalistic and worthless president in Nigeria history.

Prior to his tenure, nobody was talking about Yoruba this, Igbo this and Hausa that. This useless man came and destroyed us.

lemme begin by asking u if IMO state govt nw is Nigeria's federal govt?
for ur info innoson cars er used by many federal agencies as their official car.transport companies like Chisco patronise their vehicles en the even supplied some of the vehicles provided by the FG to offset the effects of fuel subsidy removal.for the orient refinery matter,am glad ur madness allowed u to accept that at least it was built.the last I checked anambra not Kogi was declared an oil producing region.just keep ur donkey ears glued to ur obsolete radio cos the South east would keep on surprising u
Where does IMO state gets her allocation/money from dunce? From Okija Shrine I presumed Mofo.

It seems you have lived all your life away in your village Cunt, pls come to Ibadan, Ogun and of course Lagos state to see what is industrialised states are called.......

I can't even begin to name multi-international companies owned by Yorubas. We might not leave here today if I begin to name these Nigeria stock exchange commission(SEC)listed companies not all these "PLS BUY OUR PRODUCTS COMPANIES and HEAD OFFICE IN ABA". grin grin grin

That name "Aba" alone could make any investor to take to his/her heels.......

orient refinery in anambra ,innoson car plant en even imo airport where built without federal govt aid.what Igbos need er good governors in their zones.my advice to them especially to the 400000 in abia state who sat out the presidential election is that the dust out their PVCs en vote in governors who would truly transform their region
The Orient refinery indeed! The same orient refinery that was purposely built to refine stolen oil from Kogi state. Innoson car plant u said, lol!!! What the Innoson turnover over the last fiscal year? How many people buying Aba made cars? If we re talking about successful industrialists in Nigeria, Innoson company owner ll be the last person to be called.

I presumed u r talking about the same SAM MBAKWE AIRPORT in Imo state, grin grin grin, the same airport that was built by Imo state government. Chaiii!!! Deris God oooo; the lies you guys are sharing will judge u.
