Mine was like 5 yrs ago when i was travelling from aba to ore...when i got to onitsha,it was already late so i entered a bus going to benin,then to ore,dat was actually my first time in benin,but when i got to benin,i dint see any car goin to ore,was almost crying cos i knew no1 in Benin then,and there came a bus with jst 2 people inside,den asked where i was goin and i told them,they said i should enter dat they are going there too,i entered and dis guys started driving me inside d town o,i was scared,i asked dem where they were taking me to,they said dey wanted to go carry anoda passenger, i immediately knew i was done for,i started telling dem to drop me dat am not goin again,these guys said i must go o,i was shouting bt no 1 could hear me,,as my God neva fails me,dey entered one street and d bus broke down insde d mud ,dey tried to revive to no avail,immediately i got down,d bus came to life,dey told me to com in,for where,i ran,nd one guy who had been watching us told me follow him home,i was so relieved nt until midnyt,d guy strted distrbin me for sex,i was like 'u shud hav jst left me dre na'...nd dat was d story i can neva forget in my life,never

I am a HR officer for one of the Top 100 companies to work for in Nigeria (jobberman ranking) and i can say for a fact that alot of your excuses are just crap (excuse my language).

This email of a thing is not important and i have come across alot of funny emails and they eventually get the job. Its not a requirement.

As for acknowledgement, what else are you looking for? You want the person write an epistle to confirm attendance? Oh please. One time someone had an issue with distance and would be able to make it. Guess what, i scheduled a skype interview and another time, i told the person to visit one of our branches and i scheduled a Tele-presence (video call) interview.

Furthermore, i have on different occasions had candidates who are running late. Guess what, i call them to ask if they will be able to make it or they want to reschedule.

This is how HR is practiced and not the unnecessary bias you preach

It is people like you that give HR practioners a bad name. You need to check yourself
