we have three players sublisted for POTY award
having 3 players from our team is definitely gonna divide the votes. Personally I am voting for Gabriel, my friend said it's Raya for him and some already had Rice in mind especially the english fans. I just hope one of them wins it in the end.

I been think say na just bants but men, when MOTM curse hold Arteta last month, I turn believer sharp sharp.

I pray the curse touch Guardiola well well.
Aside from the manager of the month stuff, Arteta has never won an epl game in April since 2022 I can remember. This April is the best April cus we even won an epl game. Motm plus his own village curse affect am well for April.
City to draw again before the last day biko.

Gabriel has been the best of the duo this season arguably our best player this season. Only Raya comes close to how important Gabriel has been for the team this season.
Gabriel for me is our best player this season, from his early goals and assist in the season, to his mad blocking and clearance, to his defensive awareness. Though Rice has been great but I feel like Gabriel deserves to be in epl best player talks ahead of Rice. That's my personal opinion. Him, Saka and Martinelli(even though he get craze for head) deserves this league more cus they have been there from the beginning with Arteta with all the criticism and laughs at them. The three of them started this movement and jesus with Zinchenko made it even better with the mentality they brought from city.

You get!

A lot of our players have had their ups and down this season. We've criticized them at verious times for how they've been faltering and we praised them when they live up to expectation.

There's no need pulling Havertz down or trying to undermine his contribution because Gyokeres is now doing well. Gyokeres had his trying times too with heavy touches, wrong positioning and terrible shots that didn't find back of the net when they should.

Me I just want the team as a whole to do well. Let Gyokeres bang in goals, let our Midfielders rack up assists and our defenders help our goalkeeper keep as many clean sheets as possible. Let everybody play their part and let's have the trophies in the bag.
there's a reason why watching a match is different from watching stats. Against ATM, Gyokeres was one of the best players but had the lowest rating. This season he had bad moments so much more than good moments but he has the best goal ration of any of our forwards in recent times, and some always pull up that stat when you try to talk about his general play. Now that he started getting involved in games our wingers are coming alive with more chances at goal, that's the Arsenal way. I've always said next season is when we would experience the real striker in Gyokeres and that's already showing if he can maintain the form till season ends.

You need to drop this agenda about not playing to his strength abeg. We watched matches Gyokeres got the right weight of passes and he missed them on different occasions.

I'm sure if he had scored those chances nobody will be pushing this agenda say "they are not playing to his strength ". I know you in particular will be waxing lyrical about how recommended Arsenal getting a striker and how it has made the difference.

It's like you didn't know how poor Gyokeres was at some point with his first touch, his ball movement and even some lame shots he was attempting on goal. Maybe if you watch of the clips below, they will refresh your memory and you will understand that what you are doing is that you are only using his latest performance to whitewash his past average performance

It's okay for us to appreciate his performance in the Athletico match and recent matches but e no mean say others no try. Even the recent goals he scored na the players work am out for am, he didn't carry ball from defence to opposition goal post by himself.
dave feels like there are a certain fan base that hates Gyokeres when in reality we just want him to shine. He feels attacked whenever a criticism comes Gyokeres way and it is understandable cus of how he really advocated for a striker last season.

Not having a preseason and being pushed to starr every game because of kai and jesus injury made his adaptation difficult. Kai's equaliser against leverkusen gave us an edge in the return leg, his goal against sporting put us in the semi final, even the two times he assisted Gyokeres he really did the most work and Gyokeres scored, so I don't know why we have to slander a player just to praise the other. With Gyokeres staying in form as he is currently, no one would love to see him on the bench. In the end we all just want to see our team win.
No be Saka wey be king of Emirates collect woto goto criticism from fans this season too?.

While we can both agree to the struggling part, also notice that almost all the Barclays era legends seem to be saying one same thing in the last 2 months

And some of us have been saying it too

They all seem to align on the fact that the team is not playing to his strength

Name it

From the CBS trio to the Man U hothead to the Beckam, to mention a few.

Its funny how this last game, he showed his beast side immediately his strengths were ticked on.

All the advantage to our beloved club las las.

Yeah. That GF matter was even recently. I think the Trossard situation might have made them to include him. The two put up a show in last 2 games as though someone switched something on.

This guy is a beast if we continue to play to his strengths. That's just the truth!! We need a box beast and not a kai regen that many fans have been clamouring for all along.

For me, i happy he stayed fit. Cos all our attackers in LUTH wouldn't have helped anyway
playing to his strength is one thing, holding his own against epl defenders is another. We can argue that the team wasn't playing to his strength but we can't deny that his hold up and link up play which has nothing to do with playing to his strength has Improved. The Gyokeres of past months, would get to the ball and then lose it to defenders, or his touch would be too much, his heading of the ball used to be very bad, but now all of that has changed from what we see in recent outings. I just want him to continue being involved in general play and really create chances for others even when he doesn't score. He picked up at the right time, and with his clinicality level above Havertz, I wouldn't mind seeing kai on the bench all through the rest of the games.

They said Gyokeres only scores against small teams and teams below 15th, guess who our next three matches are against?.
18th placed westham
20th placed burnley
15th placed crystal palace.
We're winning this epl and we never stopped believing.

They just hate us for nothing, our club is on the headline saying our celebration was way overboard since we haven't won it yet.
When city celebrated after beating us it wasn't overboard
these guys just purely hate Arsenal. They hate that they are gradually losing every edge in the banter with us. 3 seasons in ucl and we have only been on upward trajectory, same with the league, never finishing below the previous season. They're scared of how strong we are and can still become. The epl is in our hands now, I would happily take three 1:0 wins at this point and get the epl over with.

Igwe suggesting the tag The Unforgettables if they win the UCL fire

Fans like this guy below no get better eye. Lucky this guy stayed fit till now.
Tbh Gyokeres really struggled earlier in the season but that can be attributed to him not being part of the preseason and aslo jesus and kai's injury that forced him to play every match from the beginning without much understanding of our game play. I am really happy that he picked up at the right time. I read that Arteta and some staff talked him into getting back with his ex, na loneliness follow de affect our striker. Even without his goals, he's been a major threat in our last 3 games.

They're 8points ahead of Brighton. Lol.
well it is still mathematically possible for them to lose ucl spot even down to the last day. It's better for us that all the remaining city games are against teams fighting for Europe.

For the first time since we started competing for the title, this is the first time we won an epl match in April. Let's build on this momentum and beat Fulham by 2 or 3 goals and hope Everton does their Monday night magic as usual.

Kai vs Bournemouth after Raya give am direct pass from back and he pass to opponent from midfield 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Gyokores at advantage to assist a sweet goal with Martinelli and Saka awaiting and he passes rubbish too, ending the attack. 😭😭😭😭😭😭

On a straight line for all of us.

Arteta should trust 7×7 over his beloved 6×6 abeg.
If we have to be honest, Gyokeres has cost us games this season more than any other attacker, but i know you are not ready for that conversation.

He is bang average!
personally, Havertz isn't an elite striker and can never be. The two forms of Havertz showed in this game. His aerial game and hold up/link up play was evident in the first half, and his not clinicality showed and killed us in the second half.
That's Havertz for us. Gyokeres can easily score that chance but can't guarantee the type of ball we played in first half.
Fingers crossed to see what happens after the season.

An intense first half display. Havertz being the best player in the pitch for me. exactly what was expected of him in this game.
Madueke needs to come out sooner than later.
Mosquera should get his sh!t together.
We need full concentration in the next 45 minutes.

A good starting xl to get a result if they put their mind to it. And even a better bench to finish up the game. Brave of Arteta to drop both Trossand Martinelli for Eze in lw. Just attack and finish off chances as early as possible.

Lol they thought we're hating. Gyokeres is a poacher like you said. Maybe next season, we will tweak something for him so he can score more. I believe everyone should understand why Sesko was in the conversation then.

Wetin pain me pass na the muscle wey man gather. He shouldn't be losing duels with those muscles. 😂😂
early in the season Ian Wright said if Gyokeres can get 15 epl goals, it would be considered a successful seaon for him. And few fans said he was looking down on Gyokeres. If Gyokeres was still in sporting by now, he would be at 30+ goals that's fact cus even his downgrade is doing better. Now imagine we signed sesko and he gave 20 goals in all competition while Gyokeres in sporting gets 40+ or 50+. One factor that a lot of people checked when signing Gyokeres (i included), was that we need a striker who is old enough, experienced enough and would go out and all to win us the league, a proven goal scorer and not sesko that is still young and will be learning on the game. But..........
Na next season we go enjoy Gyokeres more, but that will also depend on if we win this epl.

I don't really dig all this argument about rest and whatnot. A player who has played little minutes can still get injured. When you're at a front foot in Europe and you have City breathing down your neck, you go wan rest your best player? VVD, Benardo and the likes have been playing regularly. The only exception is if a player is injury proned. Should we even talk about injuries these guys brought home from international break.

Let's not overflog this issue. Injuries are just unfortunate situations.
I understand you, I do. In the case of Saka, this lad started playing minutes after minutes from a young age. I don't think there's any forward player at his age that made or has the same number of minutes as him. Fatigue can affect muscles and tissues, and it can be a factor in how fast or slow you recover from injuries. Many times Saka have played through injuries, you know what constantly playing with pain can do to a player, so no need to talk on that one. Injuries can happen to anyone at anytime without even playing, that's right. But overpaying a player can also contribute to issues that can bring about injury. These are muscles we are talking about after all.

BTW, Gyokeres should start from the bench today please. We need an aerial outlet especially with Guehi and Khusanov likely starting. Kai should start up top with Eze in #10.

Starting Gyokeres at CF and Kai in midfield will be even worse.
Against city in the efl final khasonov won all the aerial duels Against Gyokeres and most of the ground duels without even fouling him. I was telling a Gyokeres fan this and baba wanted to turn it to an argument of leaving your best player again like kepa and Raya stance. Gyokeres isn't great with hold up play and 1v1 duels, at least kai can provide aerial threat and hold up to open up an attacker like Eze. Gyokeres is a goal poacher but take out his goals he really doesn't offer something significant to the team play, only twice have I seen him play really well all round. Kai and jesus that can play that kind of game are not clinical as him, so over all we are fuccked. No matter who starts, we should focus on winning this game, if they can't win then don't lose.
