This argument about Gyokeres and kai is never ending as much as both are still in the team. As for me, I have already accepted my fate when watching any of them play. Kai gets into good positions but wastes it most times, Gyokeres doesn't get into enough good positions and it affects his end product. We can all say kai was useless against Fleetwood but even though he started as a midfielder, he got into positions that Gyokeres who was supposed to be a box striker couldn't get into. Even the goal Gyokeres scored was almost wasted too cus of how he positioned when the cross came in.

Kai has clinicality issues which is obvious and made us cry for a striker, and Gyokeres hasn't really shown that he can bench kai full-time. Some of us will argue that he hasn't seen enough play time, but even as a sub he hardly puts in a good deal. When we talk about Gyokeres effectiveness in games it's always a once in a while stuff and not a regular performance. There's no how he will be constantly playing as expected in front of goal and Arteta will ignore starting him next match.

Last season even as most of us criticised Gyokeres, we believed a proper preseason with the team will make him better, but every match day he does the opposite of that.

In the first half against Fleetwood, there was a cross by dowman into the box, you'd expect a huge striker like Gyokeres to bully the defender and score or even hit on target, but he was already falling and the defender held his stand while gyokeres went down.

Just like Haaland does in most games, you can fight with the defenders all game and still show up in the right moments to score. If only Gyokeres can be able to do that, i see no reason why kai would start ahead of him. But if it is what we are constantly seeing with him, it will be long before he cements that cf as his own.

Saka, Rice and Odegaard have some good numbers. I wish Madueke can replicate the form he had in the first half half of the last season when Saka was injured, but this time with goals and assists.

Kai and Gyokeres back and forth argument among Arsenal fans , I enjoy watching and reading each section come alive once their stan and fave plays well cus agenda must flow. Gyokeres enter pitch gives assists we praise am and forget all the rubbish he played last week against lille till kai dem came on and assisted too.

Since rival clubs hardly banter us, we created something for ourself to drag along every mstchday.

Kai had to be forced down some fans throat by Arteta before they started showing him love, while gyokeres came with much fans love before he kicked his first ball. So i understand how most feel when he doesn't play, though all they also do when he starts is also complain but with low voices and less cussing.

Dave talking about kai's position during the Eze goal, please check who he also dragged out of position and made it impossible to cover for the other cb when Eze made the run and scored.

I really don't understand why the gyokeres talk is so heavy after that single assist as if that is the only minutes he has seen since the internationals. Why don't we bring up his overall game play since the internationals if we really want to know how good or bad he is.

At this point, i don't care who plays amongst them, I just want us to win. For me, Arteta have earned the right to start whoever he wants. The same frustration I get when watching kai is also the frustration I get when watching gyokeres. Rach has his own way of making you wish they're gone. So all of them should getout or focus on whatever rubbish or beautiful play they can offer.

During the transfer saga, I noted one thing he has ahead of the other strikers we're pursuing - his 'big dawg' demeanor. Have you ever seen him shout before? Omo.. He go scream con shine that eyeball. I'm just disappointed he has relegated himself to that cool young man since he join us. I think his confidence is low right now and he is not taking the bull by the horn. I can deduct this by how many duels he loses per match. For someone of that size eh..he should be bullying defenders.

As much as his performance has deepened lately, I want him to get back to form. He and Eze.

the way our fanbase are so divided on this Gyokeres and Kai matter ehh. To some, they just don't care about the result just play their fav. They be waiting and praying for when the other fumble so they can create agendas.
I just want us to win games, whoever starts or finishes should be able to affect and impact the game.

I didn't get the chance to see our match against Leeds but I saw the highlights, and in yesterday's match I noticed that Madueke has improved a bit. He's still not elite but some of his decision making had improved quite a bit. If he can maintain an upward projection, he can challenge for more minutes. He now knows when to release the ball and when to make a run, not the everything running he is used to. If he can work on getting his crosses and passes accurately, he can put in a reasonable number in assists this season.

they're not so happy that the team once associated with mediocre is now the template for success. We went from celebrating draws and one goal margin losses to having meltdown about conceding 2 goals in a match we scored 4. It took Arteta 3 seasons to revitalise the team from 11th position to top 2. They know what they were doing all along, that's why they always push narratives that they know would unsettle the fan base. Everyone of them knows what it is to finish top 2 thrice in a row for a rookie coach and now they're scared of what would happen now that we have overcome a huge mentality block by winning the league and still getting to two finals.

have been around checking out the thread sometimes and seeing y'all opinion but been a bit busy. Sometimes I even miss our matches and reading the comments here before watching the highlights helps me see more details.

Guimares, merino, rice, zubimendi, eze, Odegaard, havertz somebody should check the head of arteta if everything is alright. Cos am trying to imagine how this bulk of players will play in the squad. He just sold norgard because Every year he keep buying players he cannot use optimally

Rice needs some rest, Eze hasn't really shown he can play 90minutes day in day out in our system, Havertz is not a midfielder, it is evident that he doesn't impact the team when he plays in midfield, which leaves him in the striker conversation. Just like last season where fatigue got to Zubimendi and Merino got injured, we have to be prepared for any outcome.

sometimes we interpret things the way we think we see it. Rice have said it in an interview that after that game he was talking to anyone but to himself. Matter of fact odegaard saw him bending down and came to uplift him before he said those words and odegaard patted his head and moved on. It was when odegaard approached him to get him back to his feet that he stood up.Odegaard and norgaard was the voice behind the scenes always lifting the players up. No discredit to who Rice is mentally, but saying he was telling odegaard "it's not done" to lift up his spirit is not really the narrative.

I just read that Bruno Guimares will be undergoing his medical on Monday after which he will sign 5 year deal With Arsenal.

That's definitely a great addition to our squad. I just hope we work something out for our RB and striker where we need more addition to strengthen the squad.

do we really need another striker?, i don't just feel it. If we can get vini I don't think another striker would be necessary. We literally don't play for strikers and kai and Gyokeres are not leaving, so why go for another striker. Yesterday Teta said Gyokeres isn't leaving and we know kai is not leaving too, and with the midfield choked Merino can still come in as a striker.
Ps: did you notice that boy Ibrahim in midfield Yesterday?, he plays just like MLS, press resistance and always going forward.

Ethan has slot into the AM role better than the right wing. With what we saw since MLS came into the midfield, I think he can play when Rice is off and the shift won't be much.
Anybody they wan sign make them sign but I hope it's an upgrade or at least the same level to what we have and not a downgrade with potentials. Saka will be back to claim his spot when the season starts, cus he has sure had a good rest even at the world cup plus he still has to rest till season begins, so he will be fit. How Madueke and Dowman comes in will play a role in his season.

@ Mostob mosquera isn't just learning, he has proved that he can be a good cb in all his appearance last season. I can't right him off due to that ucl final error out of his natural position. There's a reason why we all was skeptical about him playing RB in the final and it happened. Yes White and Timber injury is there, why not go for a RB instead?. Saliba won't be going for surgery as the initial fears was, he just needs rest to be back. But my own is that 60m for konsa is not ideal.

The reason we may need ramsay or someone of this profile is because rice,saliba and saka won't be available fir the first half of the season. Zubi have shown he can't hold it on his own

Nwaneri younger brother has already agreed to stay at Arsenal, I don't know what will happen with his elder brother.
Ramsey is an average player to me, not the kind that can be an upgrade to what we have already. Zubimendi for all his errors and all played so well in the first half of last season that no one mentioned the comparison to partey till the second half when I believe fatigue had a hand in it all. He is a good player that can improve especially after his first season experience. We need a either a dm or central that can push the ones we've got. In that AM role, we have Eze, Odegaard and Merino and all three can be trusted to start and be rotated, but in the case of Rice and Zubimendi, it is only MLS that can enter in the conversation, so we need a good quality in that position.

do we even need such profiles again in our team?. I was surprised we went for Rogers, going for Ramsey is just the same kind of deal to me. We have Odegaard and Eze for the no.8 position which is where dem two florish. Plus we still have Nwaneri that we don't know their plans for. We can use that money to go out for Guimaraes especially considering that norgaard is not rated much by Arteta. We can have Merino, Zubimendi, MLS, and Guimaraes in the absence of Rice. Seeing how much that central and dm role played so much we really need a player that can maintain that standard whenever one of Zubimendi or Rice needs rest.

i share same thoughts about him. To me he's like a low budget Eze with potential. What ever they want us to believe he can do, Eze can do that too. We need to seek real profiles for the positions we are lacking, not packing players up and down.

I feel the same way about konsa that we are also romancing with. We have Mosquera and Ben white to fill in as cb, Timber will also be back and that will have us with a more than needed personels when saliba returns too. So why go for a 60m konsa when we can get a less value option who's young still and won't be just a quick fix. The pressure of winning a big project is off now a bit, so Arteta should trust his champions more and rotate often.

i prefer Guimaraes to Tonali that we were first linked with. In a world where players like Anderton and his likes are valued at 100m+ getting Guimaraes for 65m wouldn't be a bad deal.

Martinelli played more like a false 9 today, dropping deep, distributing the ball and all. This is my first time watching him play in this world cup and his performance was good plus the goal to cap it all.
