Goodday follow Nairalanders, I am currently in a serious dilemma.
It all started last year when I applied for a UK visa paid #1m and to pay another million naira when the visa is out but by March of this year the pandemic started and knowing fully well the probability of the pandemic extending for long time I requested for a withdrawal of my visa I was told I am not going to get my full money I was paid 700k and I had 800k in savings.
My problem now is after receiving that money in march this year I currently have spent #650k from family problems and personal issues and as the pandemic has left me out of work I only feed from this money I now have this fear if things continue like this I wount have a dime by next year my house rent would expire next year February and that's a 300k problem on me.
Please follow Nairalanders how can I invest this money of 800k knowing I have no job for now and would need to feed.
Please matured advise only.

People have been giving themselves headache, this whyna has just been going by and front, this her audio agent that got her job, refusing to share details SMH.You opend thread yet your giving half details.
WhyNa:

I have already answered these questiions before in details/

1. Yes I did. No it wasn't. I didn't take the job sha. Glad I didn't

2. Hmm. This question is somehow. The agent does whatever you discuss and agree with him. From visa alone to visa and work permit, to visa, work permit and job and even certificates (shey you jasi?)

3. See 2 above

4. Lol. Why else would I go there. It happened as stated

5. It depends on you. If you work full time or part time and if you work in a school or a center or both. The least you can be offered is $800 with accomodation and it's mostly in a somewhat rural area. That was the kind of job I was offered. It was full time to and thankfully, I didn't take it. You should expect to make from $1000-2000 but remember, it depends on you.

6. I'm sure if you read through the thread, you would see some of the costs stated there. I have started forgetting some. A good estimate is 2M and no you won't use it all up. I stated this before too

Hello, i enrolled for certified Nursing assistant program, its a 4months course, the school said they help their students in getting a job after the program?Do you think its a good idea to go for this course considering the cost is like 450k,if truely they will give one job?
Ope4Christ:

None.

Every other menial jobs like cleaners, maid, waiter/waitress, packers, construction assistants etc pay between 750 to 1200 Dirhams monthly since they are likely going to give you accommodation. But if accommodation is not given, the salary might increase a bit.

Few technical jobs like drivers, tillers, mechanics, sales attendants etc can earn between 1000 to 2500 Dirhams monthly.

Graduates who have authenticated their certificates like Admin officer, Teachers, Assistant HR, Accountants, Nurses etc can earn between 2500 and 4000 Dirhams monthly. It could be a little bit higher or lesser depending on experience and the type of organisation you work with.

I want to apply for the MSc in Nursing I have a 2.2,but I have worked in the hospital since 2017 till date.I worked as Managed health care call center agent. Can I apply?
Arhmiee:

Search for "Msc Adult nursing Uk" on Google, you will see results of different schools offering the program. It's a pre-registration nursing program. Most schools take people from any disciple but having a 2.1 and above is needed unless u have work experience in a healthcare setting then 2.2 may be accepted.
I hope this helps.

274 universities in China are offering fully funded scholarships for BSc, Masters and PhD studies.

If you are a Nigerian who is interested in studying in China, this is a detailed overview of the processes involved.

*Thread

You can find the list of Chinese universities involved in this CSC scholarship here

CSC Scholarships | China Scholarship Council | Chinese government ScholarshipsStudy in China on CSC Scholarship offered by China Scholarship Council also called Chinese Government Scholarship. CSC China offering Undergraduate, Master, PhD, exchange program, and Chinese languag…https://www.chinesescholarshipcouncil.com/

. Most universities do not need IELTS or TOEFL, they accept English proficiency letter. Language of instruction in universities can be in English or Chinese language.

If you select a Chinese-taught program, you will be enrolling a one (1) year language program in China before you start your main program. You must pass the language before you proceed to your main course.

For MSc and PhD applicants, after selecting the universities you want, enter their website and look for the “Scholarship” tab, click it. When you see “China Scholarship Council (CSC)”, click it to view the programs available offered by the university for the scholarship.

When you see a program that interests you, the next step is to navigate to the "Faculty Professors or staff" section of each universities website so that you can contact a potential supervisor. Some universities have a direct link that will lead to the complete list of their

supervisors, they are usually grouped by departments or fields of study. It is advisable to apply to a maximum of three schools.

After identifying a supervisor, send a mail to them requesting for their supervision. Send to as many professors as possible. Any supervisor that accepts to supervise you will give you an acceptance letter which you will attach to your online applications.

You can also APPLY without a supervisor’s acceptance letter so don’t let that stop you from applying except in cases where the schools says is mandatory (which most schools don't). Just that having a supervisor’s letter will boost your chances

but if you don’t see or receive a response, still apply cos you can still get the scholarship.

As you do this also gather the relevant application documents required by your preferred university. The application requirements and documents needed for most schools in China are very similar. Start the application immediately you get your documents ready.

You can only certify photocopies of your original certificates. After certification/notarization, you can either upload the certified or the original copy. You can certify your document in a high court in Nigeria.

After uploading your documents, you will normally be required send some documents to the Chinese university. The list of documents will be shown to you be the Chinese university. Make sure you attach the scholarship application form to the documents you will sending to China.

Your recommendation letter is also a huge part of your application. If possible, appeal to your referees not to write a generic “To whom it may concern” letter. Beg them to write a detailed recommendation letter for you that shows that they know your strengths.

If they will allow you, you can write it and give it to them to append their signature and stamp when you write it. Do this if you can.

You must sign up on the Chinese government website here studyinchina.csc.edu.cn/#/login. Each university participating in this scholarship has an AGENCY NO. Take note of the number of the university you applied to because you will need to add it on the Chinese government website.

The Agency No tells the scholarship authority the specific Chinese university you applied to. The agency no of each university can be found on the Chinese university’s website. After applying on the scholarship site, print out the application form because you will be sending

it alongside the application documents required by the Chinese University you applied to.

Have it in mind that most Chinese universities collect an application fee of about N27k. The list of Chinese universities which do not collect application fees can be found here

These individuals vet all applications submitted and select the qualified applicants before sending their recommendation to the CSC for final approval.

In summary:

* Apply on the Chinese university website and note their agency No

* Apply on the CSC website, specify the agency no of the university you choosed

* Print out the application form of the CSC scholarship and that of the university too

* Certify your documents at a

If you love your son and don’t want to have regrets for not taking care of him, rent a small apartment even if it’s one room look for a guy that can stay with him,or better still take him to a boarding school you know u only have to worry during when he is on vacation and make sure u show him love take him out always explain things to him. That boy might be the bread winner for your entire generations to come.

Well left for me I just feel your statement sound fishy?Because I actually called the Vietnam embassy in Abuja what ever visa you want to apply for comes from Vietnam embassy,if the so called agents I found online still referred me back to the consulate in my country that they don’t help Nigerians with visa.Dont leave people hanging by saying everyone should you google what you searched might not be what another person searched for, once a Nigerian travels its always so difficult to either help or give full details, that’s what countries don’t trust us,even we ourself don’t trust ourself.its better you tell us your adventure than to give us half story, cost of your visa u ignored the message, the agent that you used u ignored answering people and you were the one that said there are lot of scammers out there.your concern should be people not falling into the wrong hands.I mean no harm or to criticize anyone just saying the fact.other threads I see they give u details even the site you will go.
WhyNa:

If you read through the thread, you would have actually seen that I mentioned these things and no, everyone doesn't need to do the exam same thing I did. Gosh! What works for A in January might not work for B in February!//

See I don't know it all. Nothing is permanent and if there's one thing about Vietnam, they pass laws on a steady. People should do some research on their own too and I bet you, they'll find things even I didn't find.

If I had waited for the guy who talked about Vietnam and refused to help me, I would still be in Nigeria today eating into my savings and reading travel threads hoping for someone to spoon feed me.

You people should not bug her cos she wont give u any response, she already made it clear in her words that an agent did every every for her. She was lucky to have fallen into the right agent though. If you all critically observed her words from page 1. Her intentions was to go the Way of english teaching but she met one agent who changed the whole narative for her. Subsequently, she now talked about different categories of visa that are available from 6 months to working visas and the likes. Most of readers dont always read inbetween the lines. I understand her very well. She never wanted to lay emphasies on the agent aspect so the mods wont think she is stylishly advertising . So, make una jara yin o. You realise that there are actually some things google can help you do right?

I mentioned it earlier in this thread that I was adviced against doing the CELTA in Nigeria/ Doesn't that mean I didn't go ahead with that plan?

I also mentioned that I did some research and found official centers that conduct these tests.

Common bro, do some digging. It's not a must you use the same center or website I used. If the one in Nigeria is okay by you, please go ahead and use them. The person who adviced me may be wrong and I'm not about to tell you not to use them too cos I never tried them and can't say anything about them. It would be wrong to do so

Where did you get your TEFL certificate?
WhyNa:
When I found a genuine agent and decided to start the process, I had just 14k in my account. Lol. I had ajo I was supposed to collect and also a kolo but all put together wouldn't even have been enough. I just told God to surprise me....and HE DID!

The very first thing I got was a police character report from Alagbon. Then I proceeded to get my medical and TEFL certificate.

With this 3 documents and my degree, I left for Abuja for authentication.

First stop was Ministry of Education and boy! a suprise was waiting for me there
Travel / Re: My Journey To Hanoi, Vietnam by Gernny(f): 7:56am On Mar 08, 2020
Whyna you are not really giving us detailed information as where the TEFL certificate course is written, even the Celta school I think you should give us the official websites l,because there are so many sites popping up.
WhyNa:
Some more updates.....

Internet is free here. Your room comes with internet. When you're in a public place, say a gym or restaurant, you can request for wifi password. Some write it and paste on the wall. I no longer download movies, I just watch online and there's no interuption.

I've said it before that things are cheap here. Was going to upload some pictures with prices but some people deem it fit to ban me anyhow ontop something I'm not being paid for. One year gym subsription is as low as 28k naira. A very big fish, those very big ones they sell specially in lagos is just about 700 naira here. 10 big eggs is about 300 naira. Things are sold per kg here. Remember to price Lagos style. If the price be like say e too much, then it's too much. Walk away to the next store and sure enough it would be cheaper. There are the honest ones who tell you straight up the price. Some would try to rip you off especially those mamas.

Things are cheaper in the market than the supermarket so try to buy things from the market. Some things are cheaper in the supermarket plus there's no language barrier and prices are fixed and you have a variety of options.

Ask ask ask for help when you are in malls and need to buy a product but don't know the section or can't read the labels. Or when you need to find out something. Some of them speak little English. I always start with "Do you speak English" They are always willing to help. If you don't find one who can speak English, use google tranlate. They will willingly type back and assist you

Their food is really nice. Never say never, try it out and you'll find out that 95% of the time, you'll enjoy it. You could spend a month trying out different types of food here. At least for the next one week after you arrive here, you'll be eating out so get ready to try new dishes and use chopsticks. I got the hang of it on the 3rd day. Now I have one fork and 4 chopsticks grin grin

There are lots of street food sellers here and they are cheaper and tastier too. there's also KFC and the likes if you don't want to go local

Pork is their main protein here but there's also beef which is a little expensive. But there's fish which I already told you guys is cheap and there's chicken.

Fruiits are in abundance here and different types too. I've counted up to 10 and they don't seem to be seasonal. They also have lots of vegetables here.

Someone asked if Hanoi is developed. Yes Hanoi is developed. It's the Capital city. So is Ho Chi Minh, Da nang (This is the beach city), Hai Phong, Lao Cai. Ha long, These are the ones I can say for now.

Houses come fully furnished here too. The degree of the furnishing sometimes determine how expensive. Like does it have a washing machin, TV, rice cooker, pots and plates, etc.

If you're the type that doesn't eat sticky rice, you might have a little problem here as that's the way their rice is. Still looking for the ones they said they export to Naija. The one I currently use isn't too bad. It just needs to be cooked on low heaat with little water.

Just like their rice, their noodle takes just 1 or 2 minutes to cook if not, akamu straight up! Like you'll stand there and rice don done. Not the Naija one you cook forever.

Their detergent/liquid soap is foamy. Thank God I used some to wash my undies and socks before using it in the washing machine. I for don resemble Mr. Bean with lots of foam coming out of the washing machine and me looking confused

SN: Learning to ride a bike is kinda difficult. I'm finding it hard keeping my balance. I tend to tilt to one side and feel like the bike is about to fall. Any ideas/advice?

Please how much is the first payment? And what documents did you DHL?
WhyNa:
I started this journey the first week of December and it was sort of a race against time. I had already spent more than one week in Abuja due to the little mistakes I made

1) I gave myself a deadline remember? February 2020
2) The Tet Holiday was coming and I needed to get the visa before then or risk not meeting up with my timeline.

Another reason though was that school resumes in February and the demand for teachers are high around that period.

By the time my documents arrived and the application process began, it was Christmas period and offices went on break. The Christmas and Tet break affected me though but there was one good side to it.

I was still gathering money.

By now, I had paid the first installment. The second was to be paid when the visa and work permit was out (This is the package I chose for good reasons too)

Late January, my work permit came out. One week later, my visa approval letter followed. See bah, my joy knew no bounds. I remember I was in the office when it came.

Upon cross checking, I found a minor mistake

please how much is the cost? And where can one take the course.
WhyNa:
Sometime in 2019, I started nursing the idea of teaching English abroad.

I did a lot of research, lost a lot of sleep, penciled down and weighed my options. I was also lucky to meet a senior bro who towed the same line and is doing well. God bless him real good.

The first thing I found out was I was going to need an English certificate, preferably CELTA which was going to be a one month intensive course.

Only problem was....it would cost a fortune
