NaijaHelper1: Men and women have different definitions of status. A woman sees material enough to sustain her as fully independent. A man who has enough material to sustain himself only sees himself as poor. A woman will not date a man in the same economic bracket as her because she'll see him as lower which is a weird phenomenon if you ask me.
Women who are financially well off and therefore refuse marriage are nothing other than a symptom of a dysfunctional society. It's not sth to be applauded. It's an indicator of a fully mature and declining society. And it goes to prove my point. That women if left unsupervised will apply principles that only benefit them in a selfish disruption of the order of society. Well, then we should expect more selfish women as more women are empowered. I have noted the same and the bolded text. |

Drfernandez: Did Atiku not do better than Tinubu in the North in 2023 presidential election? Does INEC pronouncing Tinubu a winner automatically mean that he won the presidential election? Your naievity is something else. Tinubu was going to win as long as Atiku and Obi were separate. INEC is the umpire. I am not interested in anything else. Tinubu won the election as I predicted. Maybe next time, use your profound knowledge to tell Atiku and Obi to merge so they can compete and withstand Tinubu. And oh! That should have been four years ago, not now, as Bola Tinubu would rather commit suicide than lose next year's election. |

LalaGreen247: I have been seeing schools of 10m+ total package
So is it possible I apply for masters, with only the budget of the admission fee and the first year school fee, then work for the second year school fee? Yes. The issue is that when the school requests evidence of living expenses, it wants provision for two years, and this provision should exclude tuition and admission fees. Except when not asked, just provide the provision for two years. I don't know about non-national universities, but at national universities, you are required to pay fees per semester, not per year. So in each semester, you will be required to pay for that period. Thus, you have the time to work so as to raise money for the following semester. Since national universities are the most affordable, if you max the hours working at a warehouse, as people I know did, you can raise the following semester's fees. But na your body go tell you. This is the reason you should hunt for scholarships in your first semester, so you are not compelled to work odd jobs for odd hours so you can raise money. |

dreamxhaser: Hahaha… don’t take what women say online seriously. Especially about not needing a man😂 besides how many women get to travel the world?
Also, women are nowhere near as close to men financially or economically, even in today’s world. Men still lead. How many women run successful businesses when compared to men? The only place women compete with men is in the white-collar industry, and that’s it. Those are the women who constitute the greatest number of spinsters. Finally, marriage benefits women way more than it benefits men, an average woman will prefer to get married and have kids with a man in her life than carry out some sperm donor shit. They will say otherwise online but we all know women say something and do the opposite.
Till today the average woman’s prayer is to have her rich dreams man, even more than building her own successful career. That is why they get depressed and too emotional when single at old age.
I have several aunts that are well off financially, but they still pray for a husband every day. It is their dream even after the successful careers they have. Men should stop acting desperate about marriage and see women humble. That shit dose not benefit us in anyway, they still cheat with their lowkey true loves. So what’s in it for us? Pressure and early grave?
So all those single successful women you see at 50 having the best time of their lives are actually depressed and they are a tiny minority of the billions of women outhere Until those women get their desirable men to marry, then I would change my stance. My position is for men to focus on their economic wellbeing, and not whether or not their female contemporaries would get married. So, their female contemporaries don't get married, but as long as those female counterparts are more economically comfortable than those men, in my books, they have won it in life. I focus on the economics, not whether someone is married or not. |

Funny thing is that he has not even ever had sex nor a girlfriend. Someone like him isn't meant to be taking seriously. This is you predicting Peter Obi would win the 2023 elections: Drfernandez: You are naive politically and otherwise. Your little brain did not tell you that unlike the 1993 election where the two-party system was in place and was a two-horse race between NRC and SDP, which largely contributed to SDP victory, that it is not the same in the 2023 election.
The fact that you failed to tell yourself the truth that Atiku would do better than Tinubu in the entire North using your sentimental analogy, shows that you are completely naive.
The election will be Peter Obi's to lose, so he is winning by all indices available so far. Yeah, I am nAiVe🙄 I will let the remainder of your comment slide. |

It is devastating because money means nothing in that situation. Remember money can only buy things…. Women may choose not to get married but choosing not to have a child or children is another thing entirely. We get them plenty for this America and frankly, they are all mentally ill and unbalanced and dangerous!!! Well, the reality is that these women are now in greater numbers and their numbers are rising. So, what do you say about it? |
Romance › Re: Modern Women Are Very Brutal With Their Choices by Gerrard59(m): 4:43pm On Apr 17 |
NaijaHelper1: I think your comment is naive. Don't think there is any competition. You're commenting like someone who is outside looking in without any nuance nor context. More so, they need men to remain on top. There is competition for good jobs and economic opportunities by both genders. In the '70s and '80s, men had to slug it out amongst themselves. Now, men have to slug it out with women. The best of men had only men as their competition, but now have the best of women as added competitiors. More women now study medicine than men in England. Zenith Bank employs more women than men. Thirty years, it was not like that. These positions are not expanding in number, but the number of applicants has soared over the years. Yes women are empowered. But it is men who have empowered them. Women who are high up are put there by men. Let's say we agree on this, but with a high number of single empowered women, which has led to a declining fertility rate in developed countries, why have these men not de-empowered the women? The women high up there aren't interested in the men below their status. The issue is that you think high status women are interested in "low status" men. They are not. In their lens, I wager, those "low status men" are not seen as men sef. However, these "low status men" constitute the majority of men in the society. When you have a high proportion of young, single and economically empowered women deliberately deciding to remain single or opt for sperm donors to have children, it means something. It means these women are doing away with men largely because they don't need men for their existence. I dint believe you have interacted with any high status woman for you to hold these type of beliefs. I will let this slide... |

koning: "The court held that the abuse occurred in a hotel on several occasions, noting that the victim and her family relied on the cleric for spiritual guidance."
So she went with the pastor to a hotel on several occasions for 'spiritual guidance'. And the judge believed it was not consensual. This particular judge is pushing the new LASG law to the limit. Just dishing out Life sentences as if it's a couple of weeks. That's very backward. Not condoning proven rape, but this lady, who is not underage, knew what she was going to the hotel for. The pastor just did not settle her well.
No man deserves a life sentence for what looks like consensual sex. It's like you don't know or have never experienced what a Nigerian pastor can do when it comes to manipulation. Then add a Nigerian woman to the mix. First class in Manipulation meets First class in gullibility. |

Our women grovel at their feet and respect them more than their fathers, brothers, sons and husbands. If a Nigerian pastor tells a Nigerian woman to jump, she asks: How high? She doesn't care about the end result of the jump. In fact, she will mock you - her husband, son or brother - if you question the motive of the jump. EducatedMind369: Good morning Gerrard. I've been a keen follower of your posts for years now and I believe you're the right person that'll give the needed input to the issue I have on ground.
So, I'm a recent graduate of Mathematics and I've had thoughts of furthering my education outside the country for some time now, but unfortunately for me, I graduated with a second class lower grade. I know it sucks, but it has happened. My university education was really rushed by my school (name withheld) to the point where I spent two years for a four year course(this actually is real) and as a result, I had little time to adjust myself to a whole new field(university Mathematics is different from secondary maths. We do proofs and little to zero calculations).
But I've always had an aptitude for Mathematics right from secondary school. I'm relearning my entire undergrad Mathematics syllabus, which I'm learning way better compared to when I was in school [remember, I have a knack for Mathematics? Double A's in maths and further mathematics in Waec(never had a further mathematics teacher in secondary school. Learnt it on my own and still made an A in Waec)].
Well, what is the essence of this unnecessary story? Simple. It's to show that I have the aptitude, but unfortunately it didn't reflect in my undergrad grades. People with the good grades will always be looked at first before me.
I take full responsibility for everything, and I'm not giving any excuses. What I need now is a solution.
I'd love to further my studies in Mathematics in a developed country. I'm taking the path of least resistance, a philosophy espoused by your friend Tensa, and I'm not looking towards North America or those popular countries. I've been looking at South America and some Asian countries.
I also forgot to mention that I come from a poor family too. So, self funding any education overseas is out of the equation for me. So, those ptdf, mext, Erasmus scholarships are probably out of reach for me.
My main issue now is how do I prove my competence to admission committees so I can get funding, knowing my grades will be a limiting factor for me? I need a way to prove myself. I was thinking of doing an Msc in Nigeria and graduating with good grades, but honestly I really don't want to school in Nigeria again. And besides, that'll take too much time and immigration laws are changing everyday. I need to be fast.
I've been following that Japanese thread and seeing some people there get funding, has arisen hope in my body. I don't mind learning a new language at this point, or experiencing racism.
So, I've been checking out some Japanese schools, and it's still need to me though. So, I need some time to learn about their process and all. I don't want to ask any questions since you generally frown at people asking questions that can be gotten online or from the thread.
Please, I just want you to help look into my case. Thank you.
Cc Ger.rard59 The way you write this, random person go read am and think say I get sense. I have nothing against people asking questions in the Japan thread (I am not Seun. Nairaland no be my property). I just find it ridiculous for people who want to pursue grad studies in a country where the student is expected to hit the ground running on day one to expect answers so easily in the age of ChatGPT. My time, nothing like ChatGPT o. That said, that stuff works so well. I pity management consultants sha. I knew what I experienced as a graduate student, and I have asked two Nigerian postdocs what it is like to be a postdoc or to get a postdoctoral fellowship directly from Nigeria to Japan. It is pure hard work and a you-know-what-to-do system. As for your situation, I will recommend getting a job in Nigeria, and if you are within the age range for entry level jobs, apply to them. Yes, having a lower grade does limit folks in applying for jobs, ditto age caps. My friend in school has two degrees (life sciences and engineering) from two universities (he did them concurrently), but has a "strong 2.1" in the life sciences degree and 2.2 in the engineering. Since there are more graduate trainee jobs in engineering than in life sciences, he faces disqualification for most of them. Then, we have stringent immigration rules that have prevented folks like him from getting a visa. But try to get a job, or if you can, learn some tech skills that can enable you to get a job. Why a job at the moment over a master's in Nigeria? Because nothing beats experience, and you earn an income at the same time. School will always be there, but Trump won't last forever as president. The job will provide a source of income to either learn Spanish (to pursue South American countries), if you can, run visa processes when the time comes. Yes, the path to least resistance is great! It worked for me, otherwise I would have competed with the rest of the world in sourcing for scholarships. Even then, my competitors for scholarships were Chinese, and I defeated them! For this reason, I will always recommend the likes of China, Japan and South Korea. The Korean govt has been championing more international student enrolment. These countries have great universities at a fraction of the tuition fees in Western nations and can be stepping stones to other places/endeavours in life. So to convince admission committees, you need to show some years of experience, and except you want to target the top universities (they have more scholarships and int'l students), you can undergo a master's in Nigeria. Since funds would be an issue, target first generation federal universities - UNN, UI, UNILAG, ABU etc. Get a distinction and fire at the top universities in those Asian countries. So you do a master's at say, UNN, then another master's at Tohoku University, then a PhD and so on. As we know, we are in the age of AI and advanced technologies, and mathematics and physics are the bedrock of these emerging technologies. East Asians are naturally good at these subjects. I know the admission path to Japanese universities pretty well. Countless schools would be GLAD to admit you, but might not readily offer you scholarships until they see some grit in you. p.s. There are more scholarships when you are in the country compared to when you are outside. All but two of the MEXT scholars I have met from Nigeria and other African countries had a first class in their undergrad studies. This corroborated my LinkedIn search before I came to the country. Those two had cognate work experience, and one of them almost had a distinction in his MSc program before coming here for another MSc, then PhD and now a postdoc. Your issue now is the funds; otherwise, I would have said go for it - apply to those Asian countries. Japan is "cheap" as the yen is in the toilet. |

With the responses here, the best antidote to northern men, and even southern men to an extent, is vasectomy. Our men, especially once they attain financial stability regardless of their education level and ethnicity, begin to carry women or marry more wives. To ensure they don't have more children since resources are scarce and might not be constant, they should undergo vasectomies. |

emmaodet: Lol...Feed our entire family? depends on what you call feeding. Those non-balanced diet foods? And do you actually think raising kids is all about feeding? We have a very long way to go in this country honestly. I am afraid of the future of Nigeria my kids will grow into. For the bold, there is a reason many say the ethnic makeup of the country is a hindrance to its progress. But I won't digress further. For the rest of your post, thank you as you have done well. Just that from examples across the world, the strongest force against more children is having a high number of educated women. The more educated a society's women are, the lower its fertility rate. The other factor is prosperity - richer countries have fewer children. However, Islam is a potent force even in the face of highly educated women and prosperity. Malaysian Muslims, Singaporean Malays, Saudis, Emiratis etc., all have higher fertility rates than their non-Muslim counterparts or other countries. So even if all Northern Nigerian women are highly educated today and the society is prosperous, they will have more children per woman. Maybe we should ask ourselves: On average, how many children does a university/polytechnic educated Yoruba Muslim woman have in her lifetime? How many children per woman does an educated Northern Nigerian Muslim woman have in her lifetime? |

Northern Nigeria has more poor people, out-of-school children and malnourished children than anywhere else in the country. Why do we have to lie publicly? As for farming, the productivity of our farmers does not equal that of South Africa, let alone Brazil or Thailand, before we mention the US or the Netherlands. Major concern is being able to work, left for me I’d prefer to go straight to MSc … if I can get jobs easily, then I would prefer this type of school you suggested, I would then pay attention to learning the language afterwards. If you want to work in Japan, you need to speak the language at an appreciable level. There are plentiful of jobs here, but do you speak the language? Most especially for a non-STEM field. During my job hunting, STEM folks had N3 as the minimum, but non-STEM folks had the minimum at N2. Then, no law mandated job applicants to present their JLPT certificate for visa issuance. However, it is now mandatory for jobs are customer facing. Sales is one of the employers of non-Japanese, especially those who venture into non-STEM fields. but hey, what do I know?

Secondly, the experience I had with looking after my son from 14 months old till now that he is going to 7 years old makes me realize that taking care of a baby for a lady going to 40 years is not going to be easy for her. Compared with a lady in her 25 that still has strength.
Thirdly, most of these ladies have different kind of experiences from different men that makes them to develop a manipulative attitude. To me, the video is a skit or so-called content creation. I am never taking anyone, regardless of gender, who cries in front of a camera as a serious person. As for women in her age rank who are genuine about their need for male partners, the problem is that they are fixated on marrying single aka never married men. There are a thousand and one divorcees, widowers and polygamists who would gladly marry such women. These women still believe they are young girls, hence, they have the privilege of choosing whoever they like. |

SpreshMan: Hello guys, I know i may be reprimanded for repeating questions but kindly pardon me as I want to get things straight.
I made an application to isi international lang institution and I got the attached response… however I want to know if I’m doing it right, as someone looking to do MSc in Japan … is it language school first b4 the actual MSc or can I still do MSc ignoring language advantage.
I hold Bsc in pol science Most language schools have agencies or there are agencies that send/process applicants' documents to study at language schools in Japan. Most of these agencies are run in Southeast Asian countries and China - two biggest sources of language schools. The South Asian nation - Nepal - is a new entrant. For your program and most social sciences and humanities disciplines, yes, I will highly recommend language schools (at least a year) before a master's degree. This is because almost all, if not all, the jobs you will be qualified for would mandate an appreciable level of Japanese proficiency, without which you cannot get a job. With the new rule mandating language proficiency of at least N2, it will be become very tough or almost impossible for someone who is to work in non-STEM fields to get a job without knowing Japanese. Also, you would find very few universities with humanities programs that admit foreign students who don't speak Japanese. It is rare. A friend searched for universities that offer early child/special care education master's program in English, but found two and both had stringent rules regarding her BSc. The rest were in Japanese. My advice? Search for language schools that admit directly without requiring the applicant to go through an agency. Cameroonians have it better though as there is a Japanese language school there. They study up to N3 level, get a visa to write N2 and above, then secure jobs and viola! They remain in the country. |

come to uk, south asian men dont even allow their wives to work, yet na dem get property pass even more than africans that both couple work. Men better learn to work hard, disruptive AI is coming that will wipe out more than half of all jobs in labour market. At that time, a man will even be lucky to get job not to talk a house wife. Just had to chip in...those South Asian women aren't at the forefront of feminism and gender equality. So, the arrangement works well for them. A group of people cannot advocate to participate equally in the labour market yet are angry when compelled to contribute equally to the household expenses. |
