SCAM! SCAM!! SCAM!!!

A Rider named frank with the two following numbers just scammed a fellow driver close to me the sum of 10,000 naira. cry
0703 487 3437, +2349012911948

I will want every driver here to save the number on your phone just incase he tries to play the prank on another driver.

The rider requested on bolt and called the driver at the pickup location to recieve a package for him. On get to the place the rider call the man with the package tgat the driver is waiting outside. The man came out and gave him some drugs and told him the rider was meant to pay him 10000.

Driver called the rider and the rider ask if he has some cash on him that he will pay the total when he gets to radisson blu. Driver said yes and accept to pay on his behalf cos that was his 3rd trip after sitting hours in the car around mushin.

On getting to the hotel. The rider's number stopped going thru... rider already blocked him. After waiting for hours trying the riders number cos he cant just leave like that when he has 10,000 @ stake.

Eventually, driver checked the package and found out that it contains broken candle sticks. The driver, A married Man with kids could not help but cry.

What a bad experience.

Lets find a way to catch this guys when the call and request you.. save up those numbers.
That's too bad of him, the driver.
It's simple now, don't pay for any package. Like we do tell ourselves here, no desperation is worth anything, no rider is worth anything, no money is worth anything. If those things try to take you away from the norm, just leave for somewhere else.

I pity the driver though, sometimes, what we're after do cloud our judgement. I wish him back to back long trips that will return his lost cash, time and fuel; and even add extra.

It's a lesson to us all.

Don't be scared or worried. Tell them the weather is too harsh for the AC. Would you like to come to the front? That question dey make rider shut up wella. One of my rider, a man, himself asked to stop the car and came to the front.

I asked first security where the manager is, he said that he has gone to the bank and would return soon. I asked second security and he said that the manager has gone to Apapa. Na there I know say something dey Cook.
But as the guy see say I don dey everywhere, he just jejely ask me to bring car and added more fuel.

Hi guys. For those on rental, do you have agreement on a particular number of days you're to work?
My car owner says I will have to pay 30k if I work on Sundays but 25k if its excluding Sundays.

Lagos ==== Akure ==== Lagos

Fuelling == btwn 10k - 15k

Service Charge - 10k - 15k
By your quotation, that's 30k max. I think that's too small.
He should bill em 40k at least or even 50k, then let the negotiation begin from there.
I took some people to Barracuda beach yesterday (from Surulere), trip started around past 12 and I was to return them, billed them 15k.
So going that far should attract more.

Was it worth it? Your RPM will be so high at that speed and you'd be burning more fuel than someone travelling around 100km, only for you to arrive not more than 5mins earlier. Baba, abeg dey careful oo,. No job is worth our lives oo

Make I no lie enh, I get fault wella. The thing is, I missed a turn when going to MMIA from Ikoyi. But since it was the man that requested for the Uber (He's at PH I guess), he was monitoring all the way. The next thing was his call, naso the man begin para for him wife say she dey sleep when I dey carry am go wrong way. He ended the call and called me too, (me wey dey try find alt route). O'boy, I couldn't survive the para as I dey pity the wife join (she had started crying). Worst case scenario, these unending para-mode calls made me take another wrong turn. Abeg, make I leave the rest of the story jàre... grin grin grin

But enh, I will never shout at my wife like that for anything, it was just too much for the young lady. sad sad

I had to report myself to uber without hesitation that I want to refund my rider citing reason that I made wrong turns and increased distance unintentionally. Uber was nice, they only reduced the extra fare and still promised to pay me the original estimate (after being sorry for what I might I have passed through too).

Hello, unless you dont vslue the platform you work with. Some riders can go to any length to have you permanently blocked for just behaviours. Uber especially places emphasis on value.

A guy simply advised his rider against abortion in the US and was reported and blocked.
Again, I disagree. If you read where this was coming from, then you'd understand better.
And your example; advising someone against abortion? Him dey craze, na him put am there, why the guy come become pastor instead of driver begin dey preach against abortion? huh huh huh

Lastly, I've had an extremely terrible ride with a man's wife before where the man was calling and shouting and threatening to report me to uber (he did actually, gave me 1 star and left a bad review). But I didn't get banned. In the light of this, please let us make this job a respectable one for ourselves, this platform was created to share experience not to condemn someone's way of running his business. Blessings sir, and tons of back to back trips wink

I believe u must have used okada and keke napep, do u show them any respect? How many times have u greeted an okada man or keke rider old enough to be your father before mounting bike? What kind of respect do u show to them because u didn't buy d bike, fuel and do maintenance for them? I am not saying Uber riders maintain same job status with okada riders, but if someone is paying for a service, i think respect should be d least of your worries attending to them. As long as they did not insult u.
Guy, you are so good at getting on people's nerves. You didn't get on mine though, I'm just laughing out here grin
I haven't written anything bad back there. I'm only trying to say they both disrespected each other on purpose. Talking about okada, kèké or danfo, I no dey call them for phone na, so what's up with greetings. Moreover, I do show a lot of courtesy and respect to anyone and everyone. Eg, I gave a guy money when he wanted to clean my windshield (despite the fact that I refused his offer). Bottomline is, I respect people's hustle a lot, no matter how dirty or less paying it might be, as long as they hustle to feed themselves and not become beggar.
And accusing the guy of dragging this issue over some pages, you are the one doing the dragging sir, if you had kept your fingers off your keyboard, he wouldn't have had to reply.

Now, let's get to to drive wink

oga you are just being rude for no reason, that young man you called a small boy is paying for a service you are about rendering, he has every right to choose to respect or not respect you,
forget about d respect, do your job, get paid and leave
I disagree with you. Both of them needed the service, it's ride sharing not driver labourer.
And moreover, they were both rude to themselves. Bringing the rider's ego down isn't disrespect or being rude sir, it's maintaining your own dignity /self respect.
Maybe you should ask rider why he didn't buy a car, fuel it, pay a driver and do car maintenance every month.

Seriously is this even worth it? Uber will definitely be more than this, from lekki!
It would have been #2142 on Uber. So, no much difference.
What I would love them (Bolt and Uber) to do is increase fare price at night to complement the risks drivers take. I've carried different riders that had said people reject their destinations at night due to distance and/or traffic. These kind of people will glady pay more because they understand what it entails to travel at night.

Good evening everyone. Pls I'm a new driver on Uber. I dropped a rider some mins ago and thought it was cash, only for me to discover now that it was a card trip. If there a way I can recover my money?
Maybe you should retype your statement. You thought it was cash but didn't collect the cash?

Or you meant to say you thought it was card but was cash and you didn't collect the money? If this is the case, then report the particular trip that the rider didn't pay

You should have returned the threat by telling her that she should not use Uber again because you'll start the trip and drive around till evening. That way, you'd report that she didn't pay you, Uber will pay you and bill her. Believe me, she go run give you your 400 cancellation fee grin grin grin

Me: (happy) Yes I can
Rider: Okay, end trip. Let me just go inside and come back, I won't spend more than 15mins.
Me: Okay, but at least you'll pay me for this one first.
(Rider pays and enter, me just drive off).

You can't pay for waiting time but wants someone to wait. undecided

Seriously this Uber rating is really annoying, them just spoil my mood, infact I no do again..
Riders should be educated on how these rating stuff works
Just see how I stressed myself for this rider even gave her free trip, bought water For her, cause she was cashless..(just Goodwill) she was so happy and gave me 1 star thinking it was the highest
The next thing I heard was "oga is only one star that hv entered o, how will I go back and add the remaining stars lol, I just weak and dumbfounded .
From 5 star to 4.7stars wtf
I've been clamouring for that too. They need to educate the riders about rating, a better option will be to bring out the option of rating or not after the ride. If they choose to rate, those mistakes will be lesser.
