This is the 2nd time I'll call a rider and the person will deny requesting for ride. Is Uber making request on behalf of riders or what? |

BAZ001: The airport Tout just about to tow a Camry obviously uber/taxify driver btw MM2 and MM1 round about. I wish the guy is on this thread to explain what happened because I was two cars behind him in the traffic. How do I explain what happened? " we were all in traffic , going slowly in normal airport road traffic from mm2 to mm1 and then ikeja bridge. All of a sudden I saw one of the airport tout/authority cross and was talking to a driver on our lane to cut the long story short all the cars behind the Camry pulled out and I also did thesame but when I was about to overtake d car I heard the driver saying he didn't stop on the road but d tout saying he stopped on d road -- how can you stop in traffic for goodness sake-- by this time towing vehicle was already coming and the put iron rod inbtw is tire. I tried to help but there they were like six tout on him before the tow my car too me wey just do two trips since taxify lite done take over market But my question is what really happened inside traffic or just because you are uber driver? So instead of them to ask him to move the car, they brought a towing vehicle to move a working car. And they put iron rod to stop his tyre from moving. When they start having problems in their life now, they'll say its village people |

XGhost: Not exactly sure taxify pays airport parking, and I believe its limited to 1hr, if you stay beyond an hour you're on your own, according to uber at least Wait oo, are you saying if I go to the airport, and park: I just need to tell them I'm Uber driver and I won't have to pay? |

kayusmile: Guys be careful mostly when they say N100-200k initial deposit on Hp if its rental they say 1 week upfront.
i know there's Hunger & Poverty in the LAND
something just happen last week with a friend who went & put down N200k for a corolla which engine was bad & he wasn't aware. partner pretend as if all is well, in less than 1 month d Car started smoking & shorting oil seriously.....
When he call d partner he said return my car if u can't remits again!!! Ah ah so fast? this driver has been remitting always without stories only to discovered that the engine has been Ring twice so d partner was just looking for a maaka who he will just push it to.
An d driver has not make anything yet not to talk of buying new engine, now there's a big problem.
You can see how desperate & wicked people are just to make money from ignorant drivers.
Most of this so called partner knows the true States of their vehicles before giving it out on rental or Hp
While some don't even have any vehicle they will come online & post rubbish when u call them they started talking out of points asking u unnecessary questions.
Since January a Guy who went to check a car in partners house has not yet returned till today d wife cry & cried nothing happens that's to say Ritualist are also in our miss
So be careful God will always help those with a Genuine intentions!!! Thanks for sharing this. May God continue to be with us. |

shollywendy1: The car might be toks. What if the number plate was retained from a car he has sold? Because i heard its possible to use a number plate retained from old car on a new car if its not engraved From what I've heard so far. The cost of using an old plate on another car is almost the same as getting a new plate for the car. And it takes more time than actually getting a new plate. So I don't think people will really be taking that option, unless maybe its a private number that cost more to get in the first place. |

The guy no get time for abeg sir hence took something worth the amount he will use to fix his fender. Haba, that's an unkind thing to say. He didn't say he was begging. The guy must have gone to take the phone while he was checking out the damage. |

The gentleman pointed out that the person he's referring to put up a car for sale but still want to rent a car for uber. Everyone reading only knew he doesn't own the car when he explained. Abusing the person as not matured is a lil bit off point coming from you. He didn't insult or abuse, why did you? |

ifyeez: You're lucky you did not mention you are an Uber driver, dem for chop you mugu, you're smart indeed, also thank God the rider was calm self to follow ur flow. I remember my early days of uber driving, I followed one way on Ikeja along, dem vultures rush me from left right center. I was calm and answered dem calmly until my stupid rider started shouting that he was late and if I didn't know that was one way, na there confusion enter my body, how stupid some people can be, anyway I paid sha. I took a guy on a trip and he made an online transfer of the money to my account. Same guy asked me to deliver a package and would transfer money for that when I deliver. I had to text him the following day before I could get my money, he even shortchanged me by #100. At least he paid.
Second guy, with his babe. He made a transfer(obviously fake). He told me I will still get the alert because I didn't get it when he did his wonder transfer. I didn't get it, texted him in the morning too but he still didn't budge. I just reported to Uber and they promise to pay me.
What I did today and will continue to do. Rider said he'll transfer to me. I told him, "sir, I have a problem with my bank account, I can only take cash". He was surprised, he said he has never paid cash for Uber before. I just told him to select an online payment option in his uber account instead of the cash option, then he said he can't put his card details online. In my mind I said "so you no wan put card details online and you not fit carry cash, who you dey deceive". The guy and his friends just find my money sharply.
Unless the rider bolt away like someone had earlier said here, please tell them you have a problem with your account if they say they would transfer. Or better still, carry them to the nearest ATM machine without ending the trip, let them pay for that too.
It is so annoying that these people will not tell you before starting the trip, only for them to surprise you with transfer when they get to their destination.
Drivers are getting wiser too, riders should not rule over us. Its ride sharing, not taxi, not personal driver.
I can't put a car worth over a million naira on the road and someone who will pay maximum of 20k will now be doing like they bought the car for me. If they are pissed, let em buy a car too and get personal driver, simple! |

izzou: Please, is it true that VIO now requests for Hackney permit from Uber drivers?
I thought Hackney was for red plate numbers Did the person use Uber as a getaway for some kind of offence? If so, the person is guilty, he needs to get hackney permit. But If not, then the person is lying. Even if they know you're Uber, what gives them the right to ask you for permit when you're sharing your personal ride |

Xneg: I noticed a lot of riders don't understand the rating system, I just dropped a very happy rider now and in my presence she rated me 1 star, I was shocked, she said she tot she needed to touch all the stars to rate five so she started from 1 and just skip comment. Uber needs to educate riders more Exactly sir! All my riders are happy ones. Only for me to see them giving me 2 star. Moreover, I thing rating should be optional, not by force. As a driver, there are some times that I just don't want to rate my rider at all but the app doesn't leave that choice - you must rate. This is affecting riders too, a lot. Some are just in a hurry and will press anything (which most likely will give 3 star), just to exit the app. I wish they can make an interactive session with drivers so that some things can be put in place. |

And why that choice of car, since you are not the one driving it, have u check the maintenance issues too. Remember Hyundai have very low secondhand value You said it all. |

Truth be told. If you have had any issues with rider, it must be a regular/middle-class person. Rich people are way better and don't care. I took a rider today, immediately he saw the car, he started complaining that the car is not fine, that he would cancel the trip. The inside was acknowledged by a rich guy as beautiful, just the body needs new paint job (its not like its that bad, as a matter of fact, only 2 people have ever commented on the car's look). I just stopped the car and waited for him too make the decision to end the trip, Thank God I was just by the corner when he requested and I'll be getting my "at least" #400 because I had started the trip. Rich people are concerned about more important things like your speed, cornering, speed bumps or bad road, their safety in general. But some people that we cannot mention their names enh, dem go challenge #400 for court after wasting more than 5min of driver time |

maczig: You say what, 500 rides? oga let's see proof! And who says Uber doesn't pay drivers the cancellation fee even when you contest it and they also contest it. If truly u are a regular rider on Uber which I know is a lie because you dont appeal to me as one cos u are bereft of how this things work. Why wait for drivers to cancel when you as a rider can easily cancel within 5mins and you won't be charged maybe you are just displaying your arrogance and smartness as a broke ass rider not knowing that drivers are king and some day sometime you will be at their mercy. You are not supposed to be amongst men. Men lies, but you don't. You are too wicked, wickeder than the wickedest person I've never know. The guy abi gal na scam, it has never ridden on uber before, if it has, then it didn't order/request it. |

Don't quote me cus I won't reply u...I wan go hustle I doubt if he's even a rider. Probably someone that knows someone who does. He left other things and decides to follow drivers thread. I can't smell sense anywhere near s/he I wonder what he's doing here. |
