Kobojunkiee:You're saying you don't evangelise? How about what I told you in another thread about using the scriptures to teach your points. You talked about being a believer and follower Jesus Christ. Then I expect you to know that Jesus always teaches His points to anyone who questions Him from the scriptures. In Matthew 15:3,4; He was quoting from Exodus 20:12. Also in Matthew 22:37, Jesus was quoting Deuteronomy 6:5. Now, where are your responses from? Is it from your head (as in you just imagine what is right and wrong without consulting anything)? How do you come to know about Christ and the truth about Him? (without reading). Or you're one of those lucky ones who God appears to and show everything that needs to be known? Can you be less defensive/offensive and share your knowledge of the Word of God instead of tackling people, please?! The Jesus I know, whom you claim to also know doesn't talk to people the way you are doing, unless there's something I don't know which I would very much appreciate that you share! Jesus is Lord. We win. |
Kobojunkiee:Now I don't know how to reply to you anymore. However, I have questions for you. How do you evangelise to people? And, how do you teach the Gospel to those who had been getting it wrong before now? |
. |
@youngchopper @Kobojunkiee You guys are on the same page, you just seem not to agree with each other’s point of view. I'll suggest that using the scriptures to back up every of your points will make it much more better and easier to understand that you're not talking from what you think/feel but from what the Word of God had said. Amos 3:3 KJV Can two walk together, except they be agreed? Use what you both have in common, the Bible, and you'll discover that you can agree. Jesus is Lord. We win. Pass the next person a crumb and a drop, and the world would be great. |
youngchopper:There are hundreds of instances of Prayer in the Bible. Mark 9:28-29 KJV - To cast out demons, Jesus said its by Prayer, and fasting. Isaiah 38:1-2,5 KJV - To recover from sickness and live longer, Hezekiah used prayer. Genesis 20:17-18 - To heal Abimelek and his household from barrenness, Abraham used prayer. Numbers 11:1-2 - Moses prayed and the fire of the Lord which was consuming the people was quenched. 1 Samuel 1:10,12,17 - Hannah prayed, and God gave her a child. 1 Samuel 12:23 - Samuel would not sin against God by not praying. Matthew 14:23, 26:36,39 - Jesus went apart to pray Matthew 14:41- If you don't want to fall into temptation, pray. Luke 1:13 - Zacharias prayed and his wife conceived and had a son. Luke 2:37 - The old prophetess, Anna, served God with prayer and fasting. Luke 11:1 - Prayer was necessary, Jesus didn't turn down His disciples' request to teach them to pray. Acts 1:24-27 - The Apostles prayed, and God helped them (answer to their prayer) to choose someone to replace Judas as a Apostle. Acts 8:15 - The Apostles prayed for new converts, and they received the Holy ghost. Acts 9:40 - Peter raised Tabitha, a dead girl by prayer. Acts 12:5-12 - Prayer was used to set Peter free from prison. Philippians 4:6 [6]Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. - In everything I had to stop typing, Prayer instances are very much in the Bible. In most of Paul's letters, he always tell the recipients that he cease not to pray for them - Romans 1:9, 1Corinthians 1:4, Ephesians 1:16, Philippians 1:4, Colossians 1:3...etc. Too many. Jesus would always leave His disciples to go and pray - Luke 22:45, Mark 14:39, Matthew 26:44, John 17:15 May God help us. Pass the next person a crumb and a drop, and the world would be great. |
Kobojunkie:You are writing from feelings rather than from the knowledge of the scriptures. You are supposed to teach the Word, not argue it. If Jesus had fulfilled the scriptures like I said earlier and you corroborated (Matthew 5:17,18) then it is the more reason why you should still learn from those scriptures. Romans 15:4 KJV For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. Now, I said "learn from", not "subject yourself to". Romans 3:28,31 KJV Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. [31] Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law. These verses show you that you are not subjected to the law, and that what you do (in respect to living your life like Jesus) in itself has fulfilled that same law. You are not perfect, yes, and God does not expect you to automatically be perfect since believing in Christ Jesus, but the singular act of believing in Jesus has set you free, forever Hebrews 10:10,12 KJV By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. [12] But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; |
Kobojunkie:Dear Sir/Ma. The law and prophets (old testament) are there for us to learn from, hence what Jesus did when He came to the earth. Read through the Gospels again, and you'll see that Jesus quoted from that same old testament. He said He didn't come to abolish the law but to fulfil it Matthew 5:17,18. You cannot have the full understanding of the new testament without making reference to the old. The old testament is like past mistakes that have to be studied, learned from and amended in the new way of life. Don't don't discard it, it is the Word of God. Jesus is Lord. We win. Pass the next person a crumb and a drop, and the world would be great. |
Thank you very much. I have seen your gift. God bless. Pass the next person a crumb and a drop, and the world would be great. |
youngchopper:Well, I will accept your gift. Thank you. 0706.531.4235 Pass the next person a crumb and a drop, and the world would be great. |
ethicallyright:I will agree with you that Innoson should do like Tecno. Make very cheap and affordable cars, then when they get their footing, they can now enter the luxurious car markets. Like you rightly said, I wouldn't leave a Toyota with better to buy an Innoson, I will even choose the Toyota if its used. New car, low price, low spec, low cost of maintenance, it conserves fuel. Nigerians will buy it, I am very certain. Pass the next person a crumb and a drop, and the world would be great. |
youngchopper:You're welcome. I'm glad we found our footing in the same foundation. The Word is easy to confuse oneself if there's no good teacher. But I pray like Paul in Philemon 1:6 that we may have a deeper understanding of our union with Christ Jesus. Pass the next person a crumb and a drop, and the world would be great. |
DrBrainstorm:I was replying to message in the picture you uploaded ☺ |
youngchopper:Good. That means you prayed. And you prayed for the right thing. Now, I would like you to encourage others on how to pray and what to pray for. That way, people will be out of their confused state. |
youngchopper:The riches of God is not measured in human currency. Philippians 4:19 KJV But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Note the phrase "riches in glory". It is not riches in naira or dollars, it is not riches in material things, but riches in glory. Do not mix spiritual and material things, you will get it wrong. Like you have rightly pointed out, many people are getting it wrong. They think they can ask God for money. Jesus was a carpenter, He worked to feed Himself. Peter was a fisherman, and Paul was a tent maker. So, prayer is been used wrongly by people, and that is what you should tackle, not that people shouldn't pray. Even if you're going into a business that you know and are sure of, it is a good thing to ask of God concerning it, that's the kind of prayer that God expects from you. Not that you should wake up in a rolls Royce. Remember when Jesus told Peter to go and catch a fish and use the money to pay their tax Matthew 17:27. He told him (Peter) to go and work, the only difference is that Jesus had authority to answer prayer, so He had blessed the work of Peter's hand. Deut. 28:12, Job 1:10 And your assertion that the devil can quote bible, well, didn't Jesus use the same scriptures quoting to win over and rebuke the devil? Matthew 4:1-10 Jesus is Lord. We win. |
youngchopper:It is obvious that you are one of those who pray amiss. You cannot start praying to God for money, money is an earthly thing created by men, if you want money, then you earn it by the rules of the earth that created it - that is, by working. If you go through the scriptural prayers, material things are not in focus, there are divine things to ask for in prayer. How about you ask God in prayer for what your purpose is in life? And from His answers to you, you can then know in what career you can venture into that you'll even make your earthly money from. Pray that God should help you discover who you are in Christ, lean not on your own understanding Proverbs 3:5 KJV Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. |
DrBrainstorm:Counter question: Now that you have freedom and knowledge, did you force the religion on yourself or you believed because it is the truth? |
diridiri:S/he is not a Christian and is definitely not quoting from the Word of God. Prayer is effective when you have a precise knowledge of the Word of God. This simply means, now you know that if you ask (in prayer), you will receive Matthew 21:21-22 KJV Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done. [22] And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. In these two verses, the knowledge is having "faith and believe", the action is "prayer". Please don't leave God out of anything. Jesus is Lord. We win |
I like how you have tried to establish the truth and facts of the faith. I hope people will continue to hear the Gospel truth as preached by Jesus, the Apostles and Paul. Many people refuse the Gospel today because they feel it gives them a set of rules to follow, and this problem comes from the preachers of the Word who themselves have no clear understanding of the Word. May God lead us into all truth and feed us daily with His words that we may grow thereby. Jesus is Lord. We win. Shalom! |

Canberra55:Good. There are many pastors out there who will stir you up in a violent way, desist from listening to them. Like they say, too many cooks spoil the brute; therefore restrain yourself to listening to few men of God. I listen to and read Chris Segun Onayinka. You can also add Kenneth E Haggin. These people will teach you the word of God as it should be taught. You will learn how to tolerate other religions, you will learn that terrorists are terrorists - not Muslims, not Jews, not Christians or any other religion for that matter. You will grow into what God wants you to be. If God can tolerate so many religions on earth and still not wipe us out, then, as a child of God yourself, you should have the characteristics of your Father. Shalom! |
Canberra55:You came here to start a fight and you still think you're justified. If you're a real student of the Word, you wouldn't be doing this, writing violence inciting words. Oga, Jesus never taught you to do this. Wake up! |
Canberra55:Dude, you came to a Muslim thread to write all these? Please change your library and mentality. Jesus definitely didn't send you to do this |
The Quran is a "holy" book given to Prophet Muhammad by an "angel". Hadith is a book inspired by men, as they "learn" from the prophet. My question is, why don't you have rulings and teachings directly from the Quran? Most of the things I see here are from man-inspired Hadith! Before you come for my head. I am not a Muslim (u obviously know that already), however, I have brothers and sisters who are Muslims and I interact with them everyday. The food I ate today was prepared by a Muslim, so don't even give me that excuse of "its not your religion", because Yes, it affects me. Religious extremists kill people from all religions, so Yes, it is my problem too what is being taught in your religion. So I ask again, why do y'all mostly use Hadith and not the Quran? Oya hit me!! |

jesusson2020:Thank you so much for telling us not to mind you. God bless you sir, more grace to you. You work so much and earn so much, but you have all the time in the world to read all sections on Nairaland, really? ![]() And you have enough time to respond to all quotes and mention of you and anyone that writes against your sentiments. First of all, please change your moniker or create another account because a true "son of Jesus" or "Jesus's son" will not type in the manner that you do. I know you will come for my head, I'll be waiting. Oga dru23, maybe you could write on his behalf... |
sammirano:Obviously that other person was right, you have no..........and you come here to...... |
sammirano:Sir, nothing is wrong with what you typed if you can prove to us that you have a car viz: 1. How much did you buy it, Toks or New (you don't have to answer this though) 2. How often do you spend on your car (through servicing and other maintenance) and how cheap/easy is it to shell out the money? 3. Why do you use e-hailing so much of you feel drivers here are just "making noise"? (you didn't use the quoted, but your post suggest that). 4. If you really think low fares is a good thing, have you considered buying a car for e-hailing yourself (or maybe you already have one running). If you have no answers to the above questions, angry drivers here would "e-maul" you. Start answering!!! |
