So this lady (and her friend) ordered for uber from Magodo, going to VI. Map shows I'm just by the corner but I was actually on the other side of the estate at a dead-end trying to find my way to her. She just called and started asking where I was, why am I moving away since I'm already close--explained to her but she be "èlétí dídì Alágídí-ọkàn" (stubborn hearted deaf). My surprise. I got to her location to pick her, as soon as I moved the car, she asked me to hurry or "I should come and drive?". I looked at her and said in my mind that Ọlọ́run májẹ (God forbid). Imagine, going that distance and still prepare late, now call uber that will come to your doorstep oo You will now be showing attitude again. See Complaining all the way, me just kept my cool and was smiling gently all along. At the end of the #2,796 trip, she no even get enough cash to pay, na transfer she do. Saying she will transfer #2700 and gimme #100. I don't have change, just told her to transfer all, transferred after some moment.......the money never still enter, though she showed me the debit alert. She got the most beautiful 2star I have on my rating list. |

shollywendy1: 1.2x boost means that u ll get 20% of each trip fare back on your payment. 1.1x boost means u ll get 10% of the each trip fare back on your payment But if it's 1.2x surge (orange in colour), means each trip fare ll be increased by 20%,but only last for a period of that time of surging. Now rate me 1*, 2*,3*,4*,5* 6* |

aaronson: Absolutely true because, only owner driver has the flexibility to take time out, post on nairaland, Go home if the day isn't going well and go sleep rather than hustling to get rental fee and also make ends meet. Drivers on rental barely has that time coming on here unless the week has been extremely flourishing to him. You are right. I'm a rental driver though, and I'm still very new (today makes it a week). I come here to learn and ask questions. You guys have been helping, thanks to y'all. |

izzou: Extra tip: Don't use the same phone you use for the app to answer calls. Get a smaller phone
And always use the "calculate price" button at intervals, especially when you don't trust your phone. This will help you to know when you're on a "Charity and NGO" trip Is that button also on uber? |

busayo2uk: I experienced a scam from two drivers same day in a two successive requests.
It was late in the night at Diya Street, Gbagada, i requested for uber ride and a driver accepted. He called and asked the location, i told him it was Ikosi in Magodo area and he accepted. I was following him on the map, he drove not too far from me and he switched off his engine and refused to pick my call when i wanted to ask him where he was. When he got closer, i actually saw the vehicle so i called to confirm but to my surprise he told me he was still far away. then i suspected he wanted to play a fast one on me as i am a driver myself.
Using the app, i was able to locate him, i moved closer and asked why he did that. Apparently he moved closer to me so that after 5 mins of waiting, he would cancel under "rider isn't here" so that i would be charged and he would be credited. I told him to his face but he denied and refused to accept to go to my destination. I now insist that he should cancel using "dont charge rider". I forced him to do that and i wasnt charged.
immediately, i requested for another uber ride. to my utmost surprise, the 2nd person pulled the same stunt claiming he didnt remember he accepted any trip after i used the application to trace him.
This is a new level of fraud by drivers which should not be encouraged as it can frustrate riders.
Can anyone advise how these two drivers can be reported for such fraudulent activities? I also think is better to call people's attention to such. It's almost as if you were referring to me. I got a request but didn't know the area. I tried following the map, I got to a place that seemed like the next door, but to my greatest surprise, it was a dead end. It was when I got out of there and asked someone that I was told I was still far away but by then, my rider told me to cancel. Yes, I was at Magodo estate and the request was from Ikosi. You should have seen how that map made me make a 90k blunder, I just begged the policemen and they let me go for 5k I'm still new in Lagos. Started Uber yesterday |

izzou: No flight will be coming in till the next hour. Get out from that place
Your target should be residential areas. Go to Mende, Kudirat Abiola, Ojota or Ogudu. You should get a trip there
Always target residential areas by this time on weekdays I was just about to thank you for the tip after getting there, then I got a rider. Dropped off, now at Ikeja GRA. Many thanks |

I greet the gurus in the house, the seasoned drivers and engineers. I am just going to register on Taxify and I need some clarifications before I move. Will I pay for the training session? (There's a training session written on the website slated for 1:30hrs) There's also something about Taxify cover being insurance, please how does it relate to driver. I have a temporary residence in Lagos but my permanent address is Ogun state, should I register with the Lagos address or my permanent address.
Thanks in anticipation.
PS: I'm not a car owner |
