You guys need to understand a company's objectives before criticizing them E-hailing is aimed at providing the most convenient ride at the cheapest price. The business model.

Im not a driver,, but a frequent rider. Im just fascinated at the discussion on here.
That's a business model being presented to riders, not drivers!
I guess you must have read about someone driving a rider's car when he said he can't drive his own to the said destination, so rider asked him to drive her car.
I don't know if you own a car but I know riders who also owns car know what drivers face. Those types don't complain about ride fares, they even tip you!

Personally I don't see how 25k for hp is wise.
HP is a rent to own package so the quicker it is paid off the better for the driver. Paying 25k weekly may only play into the owners snare as it gives longer period for complications to crop up and then owner retrieves the vehicle leaving the driver with nothing, especially if driver hasn't been saving.
25k×4=100k
100k×12=1.2m

So it'll take him 2.5 years to pay off the car
Mind you, he's servicing and fixing whenever car issues arise.
Let's assume year 1 goes without major car trouble, year 2 will definitely have some as age and wear starts to creep up on the vehicle. Savings start to go into maintenance etc
25k might look good in the short term but, look at the long game.
So who's actually at an advantage here, driver or owner??
... Let's be thinking o
You're right oo. It's just unfortunate that the uncertainty of the business is still high, if not, I would love to pay up as soon as possible so as to enjoy the ownership of the vehicle quickly and count profit quickly too.
Gazzuzz has been right and will continue to be, E-hailing is not designed for rental, even HP. But as the country's situation is, we've got no choice!!!

Alright guys, so I finally did my first trip on Uber yesterday. It was a pick up at Ikeja City Mall and drop off at Oko-Oba road Agege. I made the mistake of using Uber navigation and i personally didnt know the route, but thank God i had a very understanding and patient rider..the fare was N1,550 minus Uber's commision. So thanks to the guys who suggested the LG G4 device to me.
Quickly switch to Google maps and input the address for navigation. Uber app is usually annoying and it doesn't give alternative unless you change route yourself. You can also use the app settings to switch automatically to Google maps for navigation, it saves you the hassle of opening and typing.
And, you're welcome wink The phone does exceptionally well cheesy

Hello Oga’s, I just want to ask few questions about being a driver on uber/taxify/bolt.

I will be a newbie on the uber platform likewise on bolt/taxify because I’m about to begin the job So I have zero experience. My questions are

1. Is it a must I register on both platforms (uber/bolt/taxify) if yes, please why and if No, would like to know why

2. I’m a young driver, with small stature, no 6packs, would you advice me to take the job? Though I know you have to be calm to the riders cus some would insult you etc.

3. I’m using an iPhone, would uber/taxify/bolt app work best on this phone or should I just an android phone?

4. Read something’s on this thread about not to lock your phone while on bolt because of the price etc. Incase if such occur, what’s the best way to approach your rider (even if the rider is mad)

5. Could you please share more tips

Thank you
1. I've been using only Uber and it's been quite good alone. Adding Bolt would be better though. Using the two is just to have constant request and money flow. So if you don't have a request on one, you could get on the other.
2. Well, don't mind your stature. Mind your "mind" . You wouldn't believe how embarrassed I felt when a vulcanizer told me he thought I was just a boy been sent to fix tyre (I chose to patronise him because he's close to my house), imagine huh
3. IPhone is good. Even though some people still complain of having issues with iPhone 6,I've actually met someone who uses iPhone 5 without problems. So use what you have....until there's a problem or complaint from Uber /Bolt.
4. Well, you can use the tactics that have been given by people with experience. But moreover, get another phone or WiFi device to share Internet connection with, I've heard that it saves you from Bolt's malfunction.
5. Island is the best place to get rides and money. Keep your car in good shape and good physical look-you might get good and mouth watering deals on offline, be nice to your riders - you don't know who might connect you to better levels. Any other thing, post here as they come and the good people here will help.
Cheers mate, welcome to e-hailing!

@dru23

Thank you so much for your post. This is the kind of experience/advice that's needed here. You have been very helpful, so very kind of you.
Like I had said sometime ago, please don't stop, you're really helping people. God bless you for that.

By the way, I'm not trying to disrespect or insult that guy by asking him not to post his earnings (I don't bring myself low to that level, Never!). What I just inquire of him is that he share how he makes the earnings (positioning, fuel usage, car type etc...). Those things are really helpful for incoming drivers and even old drivers that haven't been doing well. At least you are sharing from your own angle as owner, he should too as a driver not as someone trying to downplay those who are having a bad time.

@jesusson. Remember, life is a turntable. You have been in a not-so-comfortable condition before but you feel like it's heaven now. Don't make others that are complaining look bad, that in itself is bad. You should have words of encouragement as someone who has suffered, not derogatory words. You should choose the type of words that would encourage both new and old drivers (if you actually mean well). And like I'll continue to say, no disrespect bro!

I wish the driver will wake, last week Monday I set destination trip home fortunately got a trip very close to home, but the rider ask me to drop his girlfriend/co worker at another point entirely before heading to his destination. Got dia trip was 2400, the guy collected my account number as usual, just told me to call so number if it does drop and not to call d number that called me at point of pick up (His co worker). 2 days money did not drop, I kept calling in gentle voice and rider was forming busy. I got mad on public holiday which is Wednesday and make him understand his house is just a throw stone from mine, if he provoke me to burst his house, place a call to the girl too... It didn't take hour, I got alert straight, sometimes we need to learn how to change it for dis riders or else deh will b taking one for granted.
This is what we should be doing!

Hey dude. No disrespect, but please stop posting your earnings. It doesn't justify anything or help anybody. You seem to love and enjoy people typing derogatory words at you.
In a matter of time (very short), no one will respond to you here again and when you need info (no one is an island), you won't have anyone here to answer.

Just help people who ask questions you have answers to and not boast about what others have had much more in the past and even the present.

Sir honestly I wrote all these based on what I have heard, seen and read here .. Been doing private and company stuff a long time .. I even drove DANFO weekends.. I have Open a tear rubber car and for good 3 years with serious marketing on daily basis , No dents or accident issues .. I MAINTAIN A CAR TO THE CORE THAT THE OWNER WILL SMILE WHENEVER HE SEES IT..
You don't hit people around here sir, they hit you. There are thousands of innocent victims of dents on the road every week.
I will consider you to be lucky (extremely rare thing for that number of years without dent). You shouldn't be here looking for a car to drive, you definitely should have those that would want to give you a car (since you're so capable) , but for whatever reason it is not happening - I don't know and I don't mock or disrespect you. Just don't blame people if you don't know their story.

Hello house. I'm a newbie on the e-hailing job. I've just completed one week in the job. I must confess that the hustle "no be here sha". However, I have a small negotiation issue with my partner.

My partner wants me to do 35K weekly excluding Sundays. And I understand that most Sundays are peak days for work. I have complained that the deal isn't fair on my part yet my partner insist we keep to that arrangement.

So guys, I highly covet your opinions and advice on this matter.
It's a serious issue you have there. The little advice I can give is that you shouldn't allow desperation to add to your problems. I pay 25k weekly excluding Sundays (and we've negotiated on it that is the only day that helps me make some money for myself).
Try dropping the car so that your partner can know that you're literally dying for him/her by paying that amount......without Sundays.

WHO IS A DRIVER? I have been watching and observing when people make complains about Driving and their Drivers.. Now back to my question about ' WHO IS A DRIVER'.
1) The fact you have a car and drive yourself to office or places doesn't make you a DRIVER.
2) A person who convey or drive people to different places to make money or earn a living is a DRIVER. Hereby you can have also have your car and earn money makes you a DRIVER.
3) If you have not Driven for a minimum of 1 year and your car intact ( Accident free) no matter the location , You are not worthy to be called a DRIVER .. This excludes normal car servicing of a car at due time .
4) If you can't avoid or been defensive while driving , You are not a DRIVER ..
5)You were given a car in good condition either New or Toks and less than a year plus the SHOCK ABSORBER, BODY etc are not maintained . It shows you failed as a DRIVER and not worthy to be ONE.
6) You make excuses hereby saying Nigeria Roads are so bad all the time . Were you blind to see bumps , pot holes and even identify hidden hazards on the road . IF NOT YOU ARE NOT WORTHY TO BE CALLED A DRIVER
7) IF the interior of your car most times is not as clean as your sitting room , You have failed as a DRIVER .. Nevertheless due to E-hailing your car might be dirty often due to going to different places which is accepted but not the inside .
coolSomeone gives you a car on RENTAL OR HP and he sees sees his car few months months only to see
Dents and the car in bad shape . YOU ARE NOT WORTHY TO BE A DRIVER .
I am a DRIVER and I will accept any challenge for the above write up . And if you are a PARTNER to give your car on RENTAL OR HP. Contact me on 08120425345.
Ẹ-hailing isn't designed for you my dear, try writing.

If you're driving in Lagos. Please know all the given rules, the invisible rules and the non - existing rules. If you don't, you end up being exploited.
Entering and dropping a passenger at the newly improved park at Oshodi, I was busted by police (no long story, y'all know what happens after).

Police/Lastma office combined. The only thing they do there is bust motorists trying to make a living. No one is arrested for any crime except the crime of owning a vehicle and trying to make a living.

If you hear about robbery of any kind, it's either police force or police fault. cry (drops mic)

I'm exhausted, like sleeping for the rest of the week... Yesterday I was joking in my mind like this work don tire me, my ears are not mine again, things girl's says on phone to question they ask "how do I smell? Does it look like I've smoked? Smell it" Frown face* what's my own now... Can make one have tummy upset.

After a good outing yesterday, around 10pm, got a trip going to ikeja from VGC, happy me, prayer got answered. Just few miles 2 approach 3MB, I don't know what punched my tyres (few weeks old), came down to check, need to change tyre. Open boot, no air in spare tire, had to manage and destroy the tyre to Yaba to have it fix. I woke this morning to realised spare is bad, had to get another tyre, spending around 6k. Head on to Ikorodu this morning, notice steering got hard to turn around the road that leads to Ijede, serpentine belt slipt into 2 (one of the Boris in pulley), had to fix that, buy new belt, spending close to 14k today

It is well.... Profit of 2days gone in a day, it ain't easy, tomorrow is another day
Sorry about the loss sir. At least we've learnt something from you. Do try to check to make sure your car is in good condition next time. Have a profitable "rest of the week".

Sir, with respect to those writing negative feedback about the business, I think that THEY HAVE SEEN ALL.
Your first trial was about 8 cars if I'm not mistaken. That's #6.4m if each car costs 800k. Sir, obviously you are a rich man. And you disposed all the cars and bought another 5? Come on, it's unfair of you to think others (who ain't as rich) are impatient or don't know how to do business because they expect to reap as soon as possible from their investment.
....THEY HAVE SEEN ALL... Gazzuzz is an automechanic and he complained about the business, please don't belittle his opinions, you claimed a particular driver worked for him and still works for you. Maybe the guy turned a new leaf when he joined your team, you won't know for sure, but even though I don't know that person or Gazzuzz - I know he (Gazzuzz) will take good care of his cars.
As you are a business man (a rich one at that), I love your posts, respect em too and would like to learn from you. It's a great thing you ain't discouraging drivers, God bless you for that, at the same time sir, let them know right from here that all that glitters isn't gold.

Please don't stop writing or posting here. And please do more of experience sharing that has to do with the bad part, that's where we actually learn (even though success stories are sweeter).
BusinessRe: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by GforGee: 5:59am On Apr 30, 2019
@jesusson2020

I won't say you're fake and at the same time, you've made it real difficult to believe you're real.

Let me ask some questions:
Do you sleep at home every night? Or, how often do you sleep at home?
The last time I made 25k in a day, I didn't even have time to call my loved ones because the trips were back to back almost all through the day. I can see in your earnings that you make even more, please how did you have such time to come here and post so much?
You said to have been following this thread since last year, but you still went ahead to accept a 35k weekly remittance rental, how did the car owner manage to convince you or how did you manage to convince yourself that you'd make it?
With regards to the weekly rental, have you heard or do you know that even hire purchase is that same price? (35k per week). I met a man who pays 30k weekly on hire purchase, haven't you given it a thoughtful thought after those months of "productive" driving you've had, to take a car on HP for yourself?
Do you even sleep at all?
And you made all these on just Uber, this year?
Please, how do you position yourself that you make such long trips and drive against traffic? (driving against traffic is the only way you can make these huge amount...On one of those screenshots, you traveled for about 60km in 2hrs, isn't it in Lagos?)

I am not calling you a liar or disrespecting you in any way, but if you will actually write in correspondence with the aim of this thread, Uber drivers experience, then you will do well to please inform us (both old and new drivers/owners) how you successfully came about those figures. Not "maybe", but we can/will actually learn. We can all decide to say you're no longer new to the platform, can we?
