No one was ready to shift ground for anyone during the run up to the primary.
Onor was the only contestant from the central senatorial district. The rest were of southern extraction.
Wike supported Onor so zoning was out of the equation.
At the primary the failure of the southern contestants to speak in one voice made Onor to win.
Assuming Dansuki had withdrawn for Gershom and vice versa,a southerner would have won the ticket.
Their division plus delegates from the northern senatorial district where Sen Jarigbe controls gave Sandy victory.

Why do you like stressing me? Victory is beyond popularity and performance.did gej perform in ss to warrant their votes in 2015? What of buhari in 2019? In crs,it is beyond popularity.it is always about federal power and party structure.Alex egbonna is the most popular candidate in his constituency but he never won until he had federal might in 2019.same with ouk in abia north,Abe in 2016...before ayade defected,pdp won almost all elections in crs.during the primaries,all the big bigwigs in crs went to ogoja to support jari but he lost to odey before the court ruled.during the rerun,wike was in ogoja but jari candidate lost...crs is a poor state,almost everything revolves around the govt.it is difficult to dislodge the govt.pdp outside ogoja cannot withstand apc.even in that ogoja,the apc men there are formidable.

The Federal Government has declared Monday October 3, 2022, as public holiday to mark the nation’s 62nd Independence Anniversary Celebration.

In a statement signed by the permanent Secretary ministry of interior Shuaib Belgore, the Minister Rauf Aregbesola, who made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government, congratulates all Nigerians on this year’s celebration and assures of government’s commitment to tackle all the challenges facing the nation.

Aregbesola admonishes Nigerians to use the occasion of the celebration to reflect on the challenges facing the nation and the role individuals can play in addressing them.

While urging Nigerians to work hard, shun any attraction to get rich through criminal and other immoral means, saying only through productivity can an individual and the nation create wealth and get rich.

While wishing Nigerians a memorable independence celebration, he reminds them of the fact that our founding fathers, in spite of the differences in faith, tribe and tongue, still came together for Nigeria’s independence.

He therefore, called on all Nigerians to join hands together with the Muhammadu Buhari Administration in its quest to ensure a better Nigeria for all citizens, both at home and abroad as this, he said, shall be a befitting tribute to our hero’s past.
