But if we give Dangote our crude, it would still reduce our exports of crude especially when we give him in naira. Don’t forget that Dangote mostly imports WTI from the U.S which is a cheaper crude, so when you add logistics, the prices are almost the same or still even slightly cheaper than when he buys the expensive Bonny Light from NNPC or Chevron.

However, I think the major reason NNPC can’t supply Dangote as much as we would expect for now is the issue of the forward sales contracts which are estimated to be around 300k bpd currently. NNPC and the Federation together doesn’t have more than 750k bpd from the 1.45 million bpd we currently produce. This means they may only have around 450k bpd left to give Dangote and also export. Servicing Dangote alone requires 650k bpd.

Dangote can buy from IOC’s in Nigeria and the new indigenous players but I think the deal to buy some parts of the crude in naira is only possible with NNPC for now.
IOCs have scheduled use for their crude. Most of them have refining interests across the globe and need the crude to service them. They also have a long standing customers and contracts.

That is not to talk about selling the refined products, Dangote retail programme is monstrous and a killer, NIgerians will be better for it though.

The circle contnues, the era of sitting back is almost over in business, you've got to be dynamic and innovative.

Same rule works even if price hits N100k per share.

It's not really a rule bending. Tiered volume for price adjustment was the original rule, they ammended it to address the concern of index distortion, what I'm saying is that there's a way to keep that concern addressed while avoiding the adverse effect of illiquidity.

Board responsibility is to deliver optimum share holder value na, liquidity for listed equities is more of an NGX responsibility than the board's.
Na NGX suppose dey drive innovations that'll improve market participation, make board face the business of driving profitability and operational efficiency
Humm... don't you think it is time to introduce fractional shares into NGX? The US Stock market received the largest boost in patronage when fractional shares were introduced. The question is, are our Stockbroking firms ready for that?

Sanusi Lamido Sanusi also deserves some mention.
Soludo brought massive growth to the banking sector. But some rogue CEOs took advantage and nearly destroyed everything with their fraudulent and corrupt dealings
Sanusi was the man that brought sanity and discipline back into the system. He was able to sanitize the system and made the CEOs pay dearly for their sins without depositors losing any money. He also ensured the naira was stable during his tenure as CBN governor
Seriously? You are free to commend anyone but don't be insensitive to people who lost values. You said depositors don't loose money, what about several thousands of investors whose live savings were wiped out when some banks went down. Intercontinental bank and Oceanic came to mind and the pains are still very fresh.

The president's work is not for those who are not tolerant to criticisms.

We need to hold sub-nationals responsible. They get 65% of allocation. Progress loving Nigerians need to focus on governors, they have the land, they have the grassroot and have a significant role in bringing us out of this current mess.

Obi said President should visit the states, now the President went to Enugu, it was just ceremony and praise singing all the way. What does PO has to say to Enugu government and people?

The difference is jurisdiction. There's areas that state governments are in charge of while there's areas local government work. Example Tertiary Education, Roads etc are duties of state governments while markets, primary education etc are duties of local governments
There are federal roads (mostly inter state), state roads (mostly inter towns within the state) and roads within the towns in a local government is for LGA.

Also, primary education is for LGA, secondary education is States, some tertiary education is also for states while Federal government supplements with federal Colleges and Universities across all states.

Do you see why it is very appalling when we all focus on President this, President that who takes 35% when the governors are docile with our 65% wealth.

We should put pressure on governors the way we are putting on President.

Tell Obi and Atiku to stop envying the President but push him as well as governors, ministers, LGSs, Senators, civil service if they are interested in National development and not just the President's position

Listen to yourself, who gets the 22%you stated for LGAs? The governors. The LGA autonomy that we have been discussing will give it directly to LGA and not to state governors. When it is implemented, you can say what you are saying.

What do you get for misrepresenting the truth.

We need to make the governors accountable for the 35+22% allocation they are getting and that is the key to national development.

We do ourselves a lot of disfavour when we focus only on the President.

The market will not crash soon. At least not in the next 2 years. Unlike what happened during the global crisis of 2008-2010 when foreign investors dominated the NGX and the market crashed when they sold off, the market is now dominated more by local investors who took advantage of the crash in prices to load more shares. Hence the NGX is a bit more shielded from the volatility of foreign markets.
More funds would be pushed into the economy between now and next year when politicians start their election campaigns and some of the funds will trickle into the stocks market. But a serious political crisis or uncertainty can cause the market to shed some weight
True.

I also think of regular pension fund money coupled with the fact that the companies are now bigger and better than 2008-2010 era.

zero8zero:
Lauretta Onochie, a Nigerian presidential aide, has reacted to a video showing Canadians queuing for palliatives.

In the video, a large crowd of Canadians can be seen waiting in line to receive palliatives. The scene is reminiscent of similar scenes often seen in developing countries, where citizens may queue for essential items.

Onochie's reaction to the video highlights the unexpected nature of the scene, with many Nigerians expressing surprise that a developed country like Canada would experience such a situation.

The video has sparked a wider conversation about the impact of economic conditions and the importance of social welfare programs. Many have praised the Canadian government's efforts to provide support to its citizens, while others have criticized the perceived inefficiencies in the distribution process.

The reaction from Onochie and other Nigerians underscores the global nature of economic challenges and the need for effective social safety nets.

I live in the UK, I am volunteering to serve in one of the Soup KItchens in the city, we usually open 3 times a week and could you believe that we serve over 70 families, three times a week and they are mostly whites. I also know more than 7 soup kitchens different from ours doing similar things. They queue up. very orderly, very patient and understanding. Also, very appreciative, praying for us.

One thing I like here is that the people are not greedy, they prefer one another and are even willing to share among themselves if we don't have enough.

We like making noise in Nigeria and our media houses too which have been blinded by partisan politics magnify the issues in Nigeria as if there are not problems somewhere else. God bless our country.

For oils tocks we see good set up in ET and for semiconductors "HIMX:.

For our Caucus members. We will get a number of stocks we should buy on market opening tommorrow. I will likely buy maybe some fraction (low dividend does not interest me again these days, as our caucus member know, 30% or more yield is available for us with payment every month). A Rufai would have asked about the 12 times "fainting" of the national grid.Which is a national disgrace and what are the major improvements in the power sectors with empirical facts as Rufai normally ask.

A Rufai would have asked him about his claims of a 22.1 billion Dollars from fuel subsidy and savings and yet still went to senate to get approval for 2.2 billion dollars loan.

A Rufai would have asked why appropriate 1.92 billion for PMS in Aso rock? He would have asked why the appropriation of funds for cutleries and new SUVs in Aso rocks ? What happened to the ones in the previous administration? Where are they?

The day Nigerians will understand that their leaders aren't there to do them a favour but they have the full rights to demand accountability and see the likes of Tinubu as a public servant and not a demi god.

My concern is that if Rufai really likes the country, he would have asked those whose direct responsibility it is to run such sectors like electricity etc. and we know that they will give better answers since it is their line of duty but no way, they must speak with the President on every item, this shows their true motive, recognition, crowd etc.

Our focus should be to develop our services so much such that it works irrespective of who the governor or president is. If you live abroad, electricity, health, education, sanitation etc is handled A-Z by the ministry incharge. I don't even need to know who the MP or Mayor of the city is to have my bins picked up, the only time you know about them is during elevctions. The unit that provides such services is what we know.

The first thing I learnt here is that, to Rufai Oseni;
1. The Media Chat is the only way a Nigeria President can engage directly with Nigerians.
2. The Media Chat is the only way a Nigeria President can address Nigerians.

I stopped reading afterwards because I do not want to listen to toxic, biased, reckless opinions for my sanity.

I wonder what some journalist takes Nigerians for? Some of them like the public space so much, they feed their egos by casting bitter and sentimental aspersions on leaders while throwing decorum, decency, truth and sincerity into the dunghill. To some of them, their over bloated sense of importance tells them they are the Nigerians so if someone has not talk with them one-on-one, he has not talked with Nigerians. It pained them so much to accept that there is life outside their cocoons with lopsided idea of democracy and governance.

Dr. Abati must be a very patient professional and personality to be able to engage closely with some journalist with their self-inflicted Selective Dementia. He kept coaching them but pride will not let them see. He swore on his integrity and 20 years experience with media chats that the chat was a success, that the president was not even primed nor given prior questions like most media chats; but they must still spew out their infections everywhere.

I think most times, we just follow the crowd on issues. We should be strategic.

Let's leave the presidency a little. Do we need both upper and lower legislatures, I mean the 109 senators and 360 House of representatives members? You can say they represent the whole country, but so are the ministers too, they must be from all the states of the federation.

We also like focusing on Presidency and its ministries that get about 40% of the federal money and leave the state governors that share the remianing 60%.

Even on the issue of national debt, we must not focus on Presidency alone but also State governors who usually go on borrowing spree. The Ogun state issue with a Chinese company comes to mind readily, the chinese company had to seize Nigeria assets/planes worldwide.

We have got to be strategic.

How can human being be satisfied?

Those who are complaining about the party or OandO not paying dividends are myopic, ungrateful or just mischeivous. We had a company that is almost done and dead and the management, through their doggedness turned things around and the company, though not totally free but has a path already set for a great future and some of us are still complaining.

The first time I bought OandO was N4. I have already written the company off as bad investment but just decided to keep it since the money is not that sizeable or enticing only to wake up one day and saw 8 digits, only from OandO. from N4 to N89 then. Dividends could not have done that. Capital appreciation did it smoothly. I can have my own party by selling a few shares from my stake in OandO if I need a party badly.

As somone said, the end of the year party is not for shareholders, it is for the staff who have worked tirelessly to turn things around and the management did very well to recognise them by throwing a big party to celebrate the gigantic achievement and motivate them for future exploits.

Lastly, for my fellow shareholders, Capital Appreciation is much better than dividends payments, that is why some great US companies e.g. Google, Amazon, Nividia, Apple, Facebook, Microsoft etc are called growth stocks, they deliver capital appreciation and not just dividends even though some of them still pay but not at the expense of growth that will create capital apprecaition for their shareholders..

How do you pay for international transactions if there is no Dom acct ?

Are the banks ready to remit dollar and debit my account in Naira...?

We like to implement laws in Nigeria without first building the operational framework ...
We operated like that before dom accounts become popular.

You receive money in forex and bank credit you in Naira.

You send money in forex with naira from your account.
