Dude, this is a war, soldiers are being killed and captured on both sides. And for you information, Russia has more Ukrainian military prisoners than vice versa and more Ukrainian killed soldiers than vice versa: around 6 times more.

By the way, in the Kursk region, Ukrainian military has actually killed and captured civilians. That is the point of the Ukrainian military opening a front in a peaceful region with very few Russian soldiers on it. But the Russian military has dispatched soldiers to deal with the Ukrainians in Kursk.

Let us just put it like this: the USA didn't save the USSR from Japan. Japan and the USSR had a mini war around 1939 which the USSR seems to have won, anyways China was enough occupation for Japan to not want to further a war with the USSR.
