Former Real Madrid striker Ruud van Nistelrooy has said that Lionel Messi is better than the world's best players rolled into one.

Messi was named on Monday night amongst the 30 players on the shortlist for this year's Ballon d'Or and Van Nistelrooy says that 'no one comes close' to the Barcelona man.

Speaking to SPORT, the former Manchester United striker said, "Nobody comes close to Messi, tell me who: Cristiano is a scorer, Iniesta is a brain, Salah, Mané, Hazard and Mbappé are excellent players, but Messi is all that together. When you have to chase animals for food and run away from lions for survival, your body has no choice but to adapt. I was lucky enough to travel to Europe for a conference, me and my friends went to a zoo and there were lions in cages; one of the oyinbo people asked if I'm very good with handling lions since I'm African, I laughed and told him we don't have lions in Nigeria, as a matter of fact I had to travel all the way to Germany to see lion for the first time.

There was a lioness at the port Harcourt zoo at the last time I visited last April.I don't know if it's dead now because they said the make(lion) died of starvation.Although you would see the carcasses of two lions shot dead because they ate up a foreigner.

CRISTIANO RONALDO and Lionel Messi need to sort their haircuts out, according to the mastermind behind Paul Pogba's do.


Barber to the stars Ahmed Alsanawi believes that given their fame, wealth and standing as the two greatest players in the world, the duo suit a more grandiose style

He wants to see more footballers take to the pitch with the glitzy styles Manchester United ace Pogba has become known for.

He told The Sportsman: "I would love to do Messi and Ronaldo's hair.

"Whoever they're going to, I don't know man…

"Terrible, terrible! No disrespect to their barber but to have that profile and not have a good haircut is annoying."

Pogba's critics feel he tends too much to his hair and not enough to his game, a verdict Anasawi strongly disagrees with.
