I hope the so called "Hybrid Seeds" are not GM Seeds! If you think there's nothing wrong with GMO, take your time and watch this documentary to the end: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6OxbpLwEjQ |
manny4life: Those figures aren't correct, this is the problem with journalism. when Forbes, an organization that values assets did thier numbers, it thoroughly carried out their research and computed their numbers very well. We can't go by hearsay nor comparing apples with oranges. My man, she now does effective from this year. NNPC relinquished their 50% of Agbami to her (she now has 60%, only God knows what her profit margin is now!). Her working interest was initially 10% which translated to 3.33% profit share on 160,000bbls/day of production. You are very correct about the WoodMackenzie report, however they have not updated their report on Agbami to reflect current realities. One thing is sure though, she must have struck a deal with the govt in power, because there's no reason why NNPC would let go of their 50% if some powerful people are not behind it. I'm telling you bro, Nigeria has gone to the dogs. God help us! To educate the ignorant on this thread and clarify the location of Agbami Block. You'll see that it's located offshore BAYELSA/RIVERS STATE.

VolvoS60: Very surprising that no one thought it necessary to reference Gideonyte's post. Very surprising. Thanks VolvoS60! I was begining to think I'm invisible...LOL. NLders should read that report properly instead of insulting themselves and see the crap going on in this country. Sadly, Alakija is not the only one in this mess, there are many more! Even the recent sales of oil blocks by Shell has gone to the same cabal again. OIL is the only reason why some people in this country still shout "ONE NIGERIA". I feel something is coming to reward these people, this evil is just too much. Whatever a man sows is what he reaps. |

I have just one sentence to summarize what I know about this: The Alakijas are no different from Militants, one carries a gun and the other does not! |

The Nigerian Offshore Concessions is posted for the ignorant on this thread. You will quickly realise that ALL major currently producing offshore blocks are off the coastline of NigerDelta, and i'm sure Agbami and Bonga are easily recognizable!

alj harem: Ijaw people have done the hardwork by voting and wooing others to vote for GEJ to be the president. Now it is time for them to relax and push GEJ toMy man, im not a bigot nor a tribalist, I hate tribalism that's why i'm even commenting here. I just present the facts because iv worked on volumes assessment of most of these fields, so i present facts without revealing proprietary information. The trouble is many of us dont have access to correct information, rely on heresays but come on Nairaland to pontificate about what they are really not sure of. I'll repeat again. Of all the platinum and gold fields Shell has, over 80% are located in Ijaw land, from forcados to Nembe to Tunu, Kanbo etc. As for Lagos IGR, doesnt it bother you that a State that has zero oil and gas production is always positioned to collect billions per year in taxes from oil companies? You may not have an idea on the volume of cash these companies bring in. I just want Nigerians to mutually respect each other because to be honest what you see on Nairaland is actually what happens in these oil companies. There is unbridled tribalism! |
basher: I don't know what you trying to say here (but I think I suspect where you are going with you allusions). I follow dodge bullet in the 90's for Warri during the tribal wars. I'm not an expert on these matters and the ownership of Warri is in dispute but methinks it's owned by Ijaw (Ogbe-Ijoh etc), Urhobo (Okere-Urhobo, Agbasa etc) and Itsekiri (Okere, etc). The areas known as Warri town itself doesn't have any oilfields, most of the oil being in the creeks. My brother you can forget these tribalists, many of them don't even know what their talking about! I can list hundreds of fields that I have worked on and >80% of them are on Ijaw land. Actually all of Shell's billion barrel fields (except offshore Bonga) are actually on Ijaw land. As for those who keep shouting about Lagos IGR, it would surprise you to note that Lagos has over 100 viable tax paying companies and a friend who works in Chevron once told me that Chevron alone pays over N800m in taxes every month to lagos statement govt! Just imagine what the total amount would be when you add what the other oil companies pay. This was the reason why there was so much anger when NLNG was asked to relocate. |
@Ufeolorun I'm sure everybody agrees about the thievery going on in govt everywhere in Nigeria. I will agree to an extent that since the IOCs are private companies, they can locate their HQ anywhere but the niggling question arises: if the NigerDeltans had the right to the resources on their land and coastal waters, will they not define who exploit those resources? it goes back again to the criminal Land Use Act!!! You see if u trace the start of the industrialized world, you will notice it happened when mankind made the bend from the FEUDAL system in which you had Monarchs that owned everything within the purview of a kingdom to the primordial Capitalist system where land was owned by individuals. Does it not make you wonder why Clinton can come to Nigeria and say the oil wealth of NigerDelta should be pushed to the north but the same guy cannot tell the Texans to give their oil money to Dakota ![]() What is key to Nigeria's development if we are to stop bickering and move forward is when there is a good environment for enterprise and I promise you, right to your land and resources therein is fundamental, this is a fact! |
@Da Lover, I used to work in an oil company in Nigeria and I tell you, most NigerDeltans are held in disdain by non-nigerdeltans. The cleaners, tea girls, gardners in the oil companies etc are from Niger delta while they are hardly found in the best positions in the oil companies themselves. I can't really start saying the things iv seen going on and how these people have been schemed out of things, You may get too angry if you hear some of these things. Many Nigerians put logic on its head when they claim Niger Deltans are lazy from asking oil companies to place their HQ where they get resources, because its a given in developed countries!!! No debate about it for crying out loud. But ofcourse its only in Nigeria that things are terrible. |
Its very bad that many people on Nairaland comment on issues that they have hardly researched or know anything about!!! I guess its the way Nigerians have been brainwashed to think. I really can't blame these people it's Obj's Land Use Act i blame! The same people who flay the NigerDeltans for asking for the relocation of the HQs of oil companies to their area CANNOT come to the US, especially Texas, and tell Texans to their face that the oil on their land doesn't belong to them. All oil companies operating in Texas have their HQ either in Houston or Dallas! So can we say the Texans are also stupid ![]() Do Nigerians people really know that 85% of wells and 65% of oil production in the US are from "mom and pop" oil companies; i.e, privately owned Do Nigerians know that if as a Texan, oil is found on your land all you do is fold your arms and cross your legs and as high as 30% of GROSS REVENUE from the oil sales is yours OR if you have enough capital you can setup your oil company and CEO. Someone actually told me of a Nigerian who married an american and later found out that oil is on the land owned by his wife, that guy now is very wealthy now. Maybe we should start calling these Texans lazy and greedy people!!!See even when it comes to recruitment into these oil companies here in Texas, goodness me they don't play with Texans!!! I'm tired to stupid commments on Nairaland about NigerDeltans. Many need exposure!!! |
The wonderful thing about this life is that TRUTH WILL ALWAYS COME OUT! Now with more information, we can see the treachery of the aristocrats in Nigeria |
This is long but please read!!! Link: http://transformationwatch./2012/02/24/deprivation-derivation-principles-why-the-north-is-poor-i-elombah/ Deprivation & Derivation Principles: Why The North Is Poor (I) – Elombah “According to official figures, the leading oil producing state, Rivers, received N1,053 billion between 1999 and 2008 in federal allocations. By contrast the North-eastern states of Yobe and Borno, where the Boko Haram sect was created, received N175bn and N213bn respectively. Broken down on a per capita basis, the contrast is even starker. In 2008 the 18.97m people who lived in the six states in the north-east received on average N1,156 per person. “By contrast Rivers state was allocated N3,965 per capita, and on average the oil producing South- South region received on average N3,332 per capita. This imbalance is compounded when the cost of an amnesty programme for militants in the delta is included together with an additional 1 per cent for a special development body for the Niger Delta. To boot, the theft of oil by profiteers in the region diverts tens of millions more weekly from federal coffers.” – Sanusi Lamido Sanusi. Yes, forget these per capita figures! I agree the North is poor. Yes, I agree the poverty has bred millions of destitutes, who have become instant and easy recruits for Boko Haram. But my question is: Who impoverished the North? Almajiris deprived of good education and proper nutrition amid Oil Block ownership by aristocrats A caveat: I am an unabashed capitalist who believes that every citizen has a right to do good business and make profit. I salute hard work and do not disparage honest efforts. However, uncompassionate capitalism driven by pulleys of aristocracy breeds a brutal class order worthy of condemnation. In my last article titled – “Elrufai’s amnesia: The day Boko Haram Wore Jeans”, I categorically stated that greed and the senseless chase for power by the Fulani aristocrats and political elites of the North are responsible for the extreme poverty of the North. I still and will always stand by that. My position did not go down well with my targets; they responded with vituperations. Mallam Sanusi’s statistics was intended to mislead us by ruffling the rudder of our common sense. See, Ekiti state has a 2012 budget 0f N88 billion; Kwara state, N90 billion; Cross River state, N144 billion; Anambra state, N82 billion; Enugu state, N74 billion. Now let’s look at the 2012 budgets recently passed into law by the four major Boko Haram occupied states – Kano state has a budget of N 210 billion; Borno state, 150 billion; Gombe, N94 billion; Yobe state, 80 billion. A simple comparative analysis shows that Ekiti state has about the same revenue as Yobe and Gombe, but only 17 students passed WAEC and NECO in Gombe state last year, while Ekiti is known for its high literacy level. Gombe state has a bigger budget that Enugu and Anambra, why hasn’t MASSOB bombed anyone. Borno state has a budget twice that of Enugu state but the poverty and unemployment level in Borno state is more than thrice that of Enugu state. Borno has a bigger budget than a Niger Delta state- Cross River, while the leaders of that state over the last decade have transformed it into the Nation’s leading tourist destination; those of Borno have transformed it into a Somalia. Kano state gets the highest statutory allocation from the FG, because on paper Kano is the most populated state in Nigeria, yet Kano has about 1.6 million destitute Almajiris. Kano has a budget almost thrice the budget of Enugu, twice the budget of Kwara, Anambra and Ekiti, but how come almost 90% of students in Kano fail WAEC? How come the poverty level in Kano is higher than all these states put together? Why is the North so poor? From the figures above I have shown that Southern states with lesser budgets have shown better development performance than most North Eastern states with bigger statutory allocation and budgets. 'Slightly matured' Almajiris are 'willing tools' for wanton destruction Now, I need to tackle the sensitive question of revenue allocation that has infuriated the Mallam Lamido Sanusi and Mallam Elrufai and their likes. Niger Delta states get higher revenue allocation because they contribute virtually all the eggs in the national crate. That is expected. Albeit the 13% remains grossly inadequate, the CBN Governor has suggested that his Boko boys are resisting the disparity. I want to posit that the North-East through their aristocrats and ex-military rulers (except Gen. Mohammed Buhari) rake in more oil money (from the Niger Delta) individually than any Niger Delta state, and collectively more than twice the entire Niger Delta put together. In this disquisition, I have attempted to show that 80% of crude oil and gas produced by indigenous companies is controlled by the North-East. It is an area they have well conquered through General IBB, Abacha and Abdulsalami. However, the loots never get back home. In this first part I will attempt to describe the very uneven nature of the distribution of the nation’s wealth among the Northern aristocratic families and their military generals who for decades looted Nigeria. They did so blatantly, and while Nigeria was weeping about oil windfall loot and others, Nigerians would wail if they know how much of the nation’s resources these folks allocated to themselves and their business fronts before they stepped aside. Let us therefore begin. To the state of origin of Boko Haram: Borno State. Enter Cavendish Petroleum, the operators of OML 110 – with good yielding OBE field. This oil block was awarded to Alhaji Mai Deribe – the Borno patriarch, who even in death will remain the richest man dead or alive in the history of Borno state- by General Sani Abacha on the 8th of July, 1996. OML 110 has a proven oil reserve in excess of 500 million barrels (More than the entire 300milliom barrels reserve of Sudan). As yet with the capacity to produce about 120,000 barrels of crude oil daily from its OBE 4 and OBE 5 wells. At current production levels, the Mai Deribes net circa N4billion monthly in crude oil sales (Using current oil price of $100pb). Cavendish Petroleum’s N4bn monthly net dwarfs the monthly statutory allocation of Borno which is about N3bn and its internally generated revenue staggers around N1billion. See his mansion, a tourist attraction - Gidan Mai Deribe http://kyata.aminus3.com/image/2009-08-17.html I will then shift to the centre of the Fulani aristocratic hegemony in the North East – Kano. Here. Enter the Fulani Prince Nasiru Ado Bayero, Mallam (Prince) Sanusi Lamido Sanusi’s cousin. He is a Key shareholder and director in Seplat/Platform petroleum operators of the Asuokpu/Umutu Marginal Field with a capacity of 300,000 barrels monthly and A 30mmfcsd gas plant capable of feeding 100MT of LPG. The Ado Bayeros, Yar’Aduas and Atiku Abubakar are Nigerian holders of Intels. It is a private port that has grounded three Federal ports in the South. Intels is discussed later. Enter South Atlantic Petroleum Limited (SAPETRO). South Atlantic Petroleum (SAPETRO) is a Nigerian Oil Exploration and Production Company that was created in 1995 by General T. Y. Danjuma. General Sani Abacha awarded the Oil Prospecting License (OPL) 246 to SAPETRO in February 1998. The block covers a total area of 2,590km2 (1,000 sq. miles). SAPETRO partnered with Total Upstream Nigeria Ltd (TUPNI) and Brasoil Oil Services Company Nigeria Ltd (Petrobras) to start prospecting on OPL246. Akpo, a condensate field was discovered in April 2000 with the drilling of the first exploration well (Akpo 1) on the block. Other discoveries made on OPL 246 include the Egina Main, Egina South, Preowei and Kuro (Kuro was suspended as a dry gas/minor oil discovery). In June 2006, General TY Danjuma divested part of its contractor rights and obligations to China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) for $1 billion (N160bn). Akpo exports about 230,000 barrels of condensate daily. Condensate export is not regulated by OPEC, so SAPETRO/TOTAL exports as much as possible each day. Egina exports about 75,000 barrels of oil daily. Therefore, Akpo and Egina fields export just over 300,000 barrels of oil/condensate daily (three times what the country Ghana exports). SAPETRO (TY Danjuma) get 25% of this. Now, note I have not talked about the gas component – it’s about 2.5 trillion cubic feet. The money SAPETRO nets each month is more than the monthly statutory allocation of all the Niger states combined and also more than the oil revenue of Ghana. Do your math. Enter AMNI (or is it AMIN?) International Petroleum Development Company. AMNI owns two oil blocks – OML 112 and OML 117. In the production sharing contract, AMNI gets 60% for owning the oil block and Total gets 40% for providing technical advice. OML 112 was awarded on the 12/02/1998 while OML 117 was awarded 06/08/1999 all by Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar. Operations started on both blocks 0n 26/02/2006. The licenses are due to expire 11/02/2018 and 05/08/2019 respectively. (Now you see why the next election is important?). The Okoro and Setu fields in OML 112 are operated by Afren Energy, a company substantially controlled by Rilwanu Lukman. The Okoro and Setu oil fields have about 50 million barrels in reserve and currently produce/exports just a little below 20,000 barrels per day. The chairman of AMNI International Petroleum and Development Company is Alhaji (Colonel) Sani Bello a Fulani from Kontagora, Niger State. Lest I forget, Alhaji Bello’s son- Abu, is married to General Abdusalami Abubakar’s eldest daughter. Enter Oriental Energy Resources Limited, a company owned by Alhaji Mohammed Indimi, a Fulani and close friend of General Ibrahim Babangida. Also worthy of note is that General IBB’s first son is married to Alhaji Mohammed Indimi’s daughter – Yakolo Indimi-Babangida, who also serves as a director in the company. Alhaji Indimi hails from Niger State. Oriental Energy Resources Limited runs three oil blocks: OML 115, the Okwok field and the Ebok field. OML 115 and Okwo are OML PSC, while Ebok is an OML JV. All of them crown offshore oil blocks. OML 115 on its own is 228 sqKm. On OML115 Oriental Energy Resources Limited has 60 per cent while Equity Energy Resources AS, which Alhjai Aliko Dangote’s oil and gas investment vehicle has 40 per cent (Aliko Dangote is from Kano). On Okwok, Addax has 40% and on the Ebok field, Oriental Energy Resources shares with none: its 100%. AMNI produces twice as much as Cavendish Petroleum. Enter Express Petroleum and Gas Limited floated by Alhaji Aminu Dantata, solely for the purpose of fronting for winning oil block(s) even though he and the company are in no way qualified for the award. General Abacha awarded him OML 108 on the 1st of November, 1995. CAMAC Houston, a company owned by Kase Lawal bought 2.5% of Express Petroleum’s 60% holdings. The other 40% on OML 108 is owned Sheba E&P Limited an IBB tributary company. SEPCOL operates the Ukpokiti offshore field in Shallow water Nigeria, which was acquired from ConocoPhillips in May 2004. Enter Shebah Exploration And Production Limited (SEPCOL) . It is the operator of the Oil Mining License 108 offshore Nigeria. Head office is in Lagos, but ‘head quartered’ in Minna. Subsistence fishing close to oil rigs in the Niger Delta. Oil wells down south are mostly owned by Northern Nigerian Billionaires Enter Consolidated Oil. Conoil Producing Limited is an integrated upstream oil and gas company. They are the operator of six blocks in the Niger Delta as well as 25% Equity holder in the Joint Development Zone (JDZ) Block 4. Corporate Head office is in Lagos, but its ‘Headquarters’ is in Minna, Niger State. Conoil signed a technical operator agreement with Continental Oil and Gas Limited (CONOG) to provide 100% funding and technical service agreement to operate blocks OML 59 on a 40% (Conoil) / 60% (CONOG) basis. Conoil entered into a Production Sharing Contract with the NNPC by virtue of an agreement executed on 17th October 2008. Conoil’s has overall potential hydrocarbon resources of over 1.0 Billion Barrels of Oil and 7.0 Trillion Cubic Feet of Gas. General Ibrahim Babangida awarded the first oil block to Conoil in 1991. The company produces about 100,000 barrels per day. Enter Rilwanu Lukman, another Fulani multimillionaire with fronted controlling holdings in Afren, the operators of AMNI oil blocks and also with very key interest in the NNPC/Vitol trading deal, Vitol is a London based oil trading company. Vitol lifts 350,000 barrels of crude oil daily from Nigeria. Enter Intels and the Yar’Adua , Ado Bayero family and Alhaji Abubakar Atiku. The Oil and Gas Free Zone and Oil Services Centres, as well as Support Bases, are operated from government-owned facilities, leased to Intels under long-term agreements. Intels runs a ‘private port’, a venture that has systematically killed the Calabar, Warri and Port Harcourt ports. There are over one hundred major companies operating at the Intel facility in Port Harcourt. The company makes more money in profit than the government of Rivers, Bayelsa and Delta states put together. I shall give details and figures in the part two of this disquisition. Finally, for the Part I of this disquisition, I introduce you to NorthEast Petroleum. The name is as clear as the message it sends. I do not need to write so much about NorthEast Petroleum registered as NorEast. NorthEast Petroleum Nigeria Limited is the holder of OPL215 license, covering an area 0f 2,564 square kilometres in water depths between 200 to 1600 metres. NorEast is the parent company of Rayflosh Petroleum Nigeria which got the 2005 bidding round and was awarded the blocks OPLs 276 & 283 closing thereupon a Joint Venture Agreement with Centrica Resources Nigeria Limited and CCC Oil and Gas. Not surprising, NorthEast Petroleum is owned by another Fulani businessman from the North East, Alhaji Saleh Mohammed Jambo. The license was awarded to him by General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida in 1991 and then renewed in 2004. So far $50Million has been spent on the very promising Okpoi-1 and Egere -1 exploratory well. In the Part II, we shall finish the discussion. We will table other North Eastern billionaires who make more money than their states of origin from Niger Delta oil blocks. The 'North' has arguably the highest number of beggars in Africa With all these oil blocks owned by ‘North- Easterners’ in the Niger Delta, it should be clear to Elrufai and Sanusi who really benefits from the Niger Delta Amnesty Programme. Sadly, National Bureau of Statistics reports from 2010 show Niger State as the poorest state in the Federation, and the North East the poorest region. http://tribune.com.ng/index.php/front-page-news/35947-nigerias-poverty-level-rises-hits-715-sokoto-niger-top-list-of-poorest-states. With these figures from the National Bureau of Statistics, I rest my case. Ross Alabo-George can be reached at imaginasion@gmail.com The rich man’s wealth is his strong city: the destruction of the poor is their poverty. Let us reason together. |
Saw it on Channels in Dec 2011 that the Facility is ready and capable of >1000MW but the director said there is no gas to power the turbines!!! Makes me wonder why a facility would be built in a place that is far from one of its key resources for operation |
Is Masturbation a Sin According to the Bible? PLEASE WATCH!!!!! (i) 3 mins video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FijAyBvAPt0&feature=related (ii) 4 mins video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GdlrafVLlg4&feature=related |
Why are most people surprised What Pastor Chris said has a root in one of Christ Embassy's pillar doctrine that says "ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED". For those who have read the bible will know that this is not true!!! From this doctrine, Christ Embassy says a Christian cannot sin, therefore if a christian masturbates, then its no sin its just an "unclean" habit. Remember that NOTHING unclean can enter heaven because God is too holy to even look at it. It's time for us to go back to the basics of the bible!!! |
I can't understand how some Nigerians think!!! People can't even differentiate the purview and responsibilities between a CBN GOVERNOR and a STATE GOVERNOR?? People here defending Sanusi cannot provide an explanation why CBN will donate to Kano and not to others instead they attack the State govt of other victims, SMH. We are really in trouble in this country! |
@Courage Your analysis is spot on only in an ideal situation which we are far from now. I only wish you know what kind of profits these guys get from Nigeria, they don't get it anywhere else. I know because I have worked for several years in one of the MNCs in Nigeria. Trust me, we are been scammed! There's practically no stakeholder in the JVs and PS contracts that is not corrupt, from govt to Napims, DPR, top mgt in the MNCs etc. So given this unhealthy situation it would still be good for the these companies to build them. As for experience, there is already a Nigerian content law. I'm supporting this because I know anything Nigerian govt involves in usually fails. |
@efisher I like your comment man! Do you know that initially when the PIB came out, Shell and Chevron kicked against it in the strongest way claiming that it'll leave Nigeria Oil and Gas industry bereft of funding. Funny enough it was an independent international Oil and Gas analyst from the Netherlands that announced that Nigeria has the most lax fiscal system (compared with Angola, Ghana etc) in place so that Multinationals can execute huge expatriation of cash. The fellow also said that for every comapany wanting to leave Nigeria, there are 40 others willing to take its place!!! |
In case u're wondering, TSKJ = Technip, Snamprogetti, KBR (Kellogg Brown & Root, Inc.) and JGC (business partnership) |
If this goes through then it will be great!!!! The truth is no Nigerian company has the internal expertise and experience to build refineries, none has ever done it before so it will be great to allow these companies do it for us, however, Exxon and Co should assume the role of contractors and technical partners. They will build it, run it for some time whilst training our people. We need jobs in this country! You may not have an idea of the thousands of jobs oil from Nigeria creates in the US, these jobs are needed in the country! Have you ever wondered how Nigeria is building one of the largest LNG plants in the world The contract signed by TSKJ consortium is such that they are paid not by CASH but by LNG! So basically these guys build what pays them! That's why NLNG has grown astronomically over the years!Another case in point is the Afam Power plant (650MW) built by Shell and NNPC. Do u know that NNPC initially did not contribute their usual quota to that project but Shell did it anyway in record time for $2.5b. I'm not saying we shouldn't encourage indigenous companies but pray tell which indigenous company can prove that it has all the expertise to build a refinery? It takes a lot o, to even find and get the oil from the ground is not easy at all. Many of the indigenous companies will still subcontract it out to foreign firms and of course you know it will open terrible avenues for corruption. I support this abeg! |
Im wondering if Mary is to be venerated as mother of God, how about Mary's mother that bore her ? She should also be venerated for being the wonderful vessel that brought forth the mother of God! Oh sorry, I forgot about Mary's Grandmother who brought forth her mother! You'll see that this reasoning propagates backward in time and the whole line of Mary must be exalted then. That's why the bible teaches that God was the one in the form of Jesus who reconciled the world to Himself and no man or woman was good enough for this. Please see below: 2 Corinthians 5:18 And all things [are] of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 2 Corinthians 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Hebrews 2:17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto [his] brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things [pertaining] to God, to make RECONCILIATION for the sins of the people. The only way to heaven my brothers and sisters is through God only (Jesus Christ), no human, pastor or pope can guarantee that or else they would have been called by God to die on the cross of calvary. I'll sign out with this scripture: John 3:16 For GOD SO LOVED THE world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. |
Sanusi is so bold to say anything to the international community these days because he thinks they think so highly of him, I wish he knew who the people in the IMF and WorldBank really are, he won't be so cocky! They even crowned him as the most intelligent economist in Nigeria and he feeling so cool, sorry for him!!!! |
The problem is that people like Sanusi and his northern ilk know that the kind of resource sharing we have in naija doesnt happen in many countries. I was taught in my MSc, under Texan Oil and gas law that a land owner with oil in his land gets as high as 30% OF GROSS REVENUE (REVENUE BEFORE TAX) of the oil proceeds from his land and the rest shared by the production company, state govt and FG. I was truly shocked! NigerDelta have spoilt this country!!! if we need to stay together, there must be true federalism and some form of semi-state autonomy!!! |
na your guy naaaa.Just for confirmation T, how long did it take ur guy to complete his series of interviews and when did he start the process? Thanks |
I really dont have the numbers but up to 30 different positions were available - ranging from subsurface to surface engineers and recently they hv been really active in recruitment. They just finished a comprehensive set of recruitment between May and September this year - twice in Houston, twice in london, once in lagos . You may want to visit this site: http://www.careersinafrica.com/en. to pinpoint recruitment events in Lagos, London, Paris and Houston (i think they prefer guys with experience for these specific events). You may also want to visit their website and register for job alerts. |
Men, those Total guys are not easy o, they are really on the prowl for talent for their new projects. The thing is i dnt realy kw wht they pay guys who doesnt have an MSc but i kw wht TOTAL HR quotes as total cost of an entry level engineer to the company which is 17m if he/she has an overseas MSc. I also know that annualised pay for 4-5yrs experience in Total ranges from 22 to 25m. The tax is about 23-25% per annum, at least that wht iv paid for a number of years working for one of these MNCs although im no longer in the industry for now. Again, guys who work on the field like drillers, completions, wellsite geologists get payouts that are overly fantastic! I must say that if u hv the opportunity try and get an MSc just because deep water development actually requires engineers with up-to-date knowledge of the business. God bless. |
