Waliyllahi:Let somebody who can speak the language call the elder brother NOW, that nairalanders have decided it is UCH immediately. We already have somebody on ground at UCH. HABA!!! |
Dammy68:SECONDED (Though I used my last bullet yesternight, but I ve got more now) Plan B= move him to a tertiary hospital to stabilize him, while we set up a committee to plan on flying him out to india. |

chaircover:It is very clear dat majority of us are angry at the decision of the family. Please and please, those who can speak d language should call the elder brother and inform him of our displeasure. Tell them in clear terms to take him to UCH as was suggested. Based on this and further tests we can work on plan B if need be. #flydjtoindia. With the way things are unfolding, this anger will turn to loss of interest soon. Though i put him in prayers during this evening mass. 100k from me if it comes to plan B. My last bullet as i watch from the sides. |

WORDS FROM A FATHER TO A SON ABOUT MARRIAGE 1. My son, if you keep spending on awoman and she never asked you if you’re saving or investing, and she keeps enjoying the attention, don’t marry her. 2. My son, a woman could be a good wife to you, some could be a good mother to your children but if you’ve found a woman like a mother to you, your children and your family, please don’t let her go. 3. My son, don’t confine the position of your wife to the kitchen, where did you get that from? Even in our days, we had farm-lands where they worked every morning . . .that was our office. 4. My son, if I tell you that you’re the headof the house, don’t look at your pocket;look if you will see a smile on your wife’sface. 5. My son, if you want to have a long life, let your wife be in-charge of your salary, it will be difficult for her to spend it when she’s aware of the home needs and bills topay but if it’s in your care, she will keepyou asking even when all has been spent. 6. My son, don’t ever beat your woman, the pain in her body is nothing to be compared to the wound on her heart and that means you may be in trouble living with awounded woman. 7. My son, now that you’re married, if youlive a bachelor kind of life with your wife, you will soon be single again. 8. My son, in our days, we had many wivesand many children because of our largefarm-lands and many harvests, there arehardly any land for farming anymore, soembrace your woman closely. 9. My son, under the cocoa tree that I didmeet your mother could be your eateriesand restaurants of nowadays, but remember, the closet thing we did therewas to embrace each other. 10. My son, don’t be carried away when you start making more money, instead ofspending on those tiny legs that never knew how hard you worked to get it, spendit on that woman that stood by you all along. 11. My son, when I threw little stones orwhistled at the window of your motherfather’s house, to call her out, it was not for sex, it was because I missed her somuch. 12. My son, remember, when you say your wife has changed, there could be somethingyou’ve stopped doing too. 13. My son, your mother, Asake rode the bicycle with me before I bought that tortoise car outside there, any woman that won’t endure with you in your little beginning should not enjoy your riches. 14. My son, don’t compare your wife to anywoman, there are ways she’s enduring youtoo and has she ever compared you to anyman? 15. My son, there is this thing you people call feminism, well, if a woman claim to have equal right with you in the house, divide all the bills into two equal parts, take one part and ask her to start payingthe other part. 16. My son, I met your mother a virgin and I took more yams to her father, if you don’t meet your wife a virgin, don’t blame her, what I didn’t tell you is that our women hadprestige. 17. My son, I didn’t send your sisters to school because I was foolish like many tothink a female child won’t extend my family name, please don’t make that mistake, thekind of female achievers I see nowadayshas made the male-gender an ordinary tag. 18. My son, your mother have once lockedup the cloth I was wearing and almost toreit because she was angry, I did not raise my hand to beat her because of a day like this, so that I can be proud to tell you that Inever for once beat your mother. 19. My son, in our days, our women hadmore of natural beauty, though I wouldn’tlie to you, some had minor painting of theirappellatio n mostly on their arms, the onesyou people now call tattoo, but don’t forgetthat they didn’t expose any part of theirbody like your women of nowadays. 20. My son, your mother and I are not interested in what happens in your marriage, try to handle issues withoutalways coming to us. 21. My son, remember I bought your mother’s first sewing machine for her, helpyour wife achieve her dreams just as you’repursuing yours. 22. My son, don’t stop taking care of meand your mother, it’s a secret of growin gold and having children to take care of you too. 23. My son, pray with your family, there isa tomorrow you don’t know, talk to Godthat knows everything, everyday. Culled from facebook wall |

rosety: Apples CAN grow in Nigeria and other tropical regions but not all apple varieties will fruit even when they grow. This is because most apple varieties require cold periods to begin fruiting (trying not to use technical jargon). However, varieties like Anna and Fuji do not require long cold periods or require higher temperatures to stimulate fruiting - temperatures that are reachable in Nigeria, temps in the 25°c region.I am interested, let us have ur email. |

Much ado about Voter's Register: Many people registered two times...so many registered in Onitsha and registered in their villages, a lot registered in Enugu, Awka and other urban centers and yet registered in their villages....INEC only called upon the biometric identifiers to sanitize the voter's registers of double registrants across the country... if your fingerprint is detected by the computer in more than one place...all entries bearing your fingerprints are removed...and you need to re-register. There is nothing that makes you a PDP or APGA supporter in the register with which someone can identify you and deregister you. Your fingerprint is very unique to the computer....no two people have the-same fingerprints. It does not make sense to remove people's name from the register across the state without concentrating on a particular L.G in other to rig an election; You will end up De-registering your own supporters too because nothing on the register identifies their party affiliations. The theory of using it to rig an election can only stand only when the De-registration is concentrated in a particular region...but in this case, the complain resonated evenly across the state. INEC has come out to tell us that they de-registered over 600,000 voters in Anambra state alone due to multiple registration and incomplete required data. INEC went ahead to tell us that they informed the stakeholders (political Parties) of this development in August this year and they never cared to check out the register. |
funshint: Most of u are just so ignorant of what is hpning on ground. Hp u all know that the Returning Officer of the Anambra election has been changed which means Ngige/APC has been vindicated about their allegation against d former returning officer. Secondly what INEC is saying nw is that they've accepted that the whole election is a sham but they cannot order a total cancellation since some results hv earlier been announced because that would be against the electoral law; "once an election result is announced it cannot be re-called again except by a competent court of law". So essentially what INEC is telling Ngige is to approach d court of law if he wants a total cancelation and re-run of d election. Thirdly Ngige/APC were right when they said that a re-run election shld be carried out in nothing less than 4 Local govts instead of just 65 polling units; nw inec whats to rush re-run in more than 150 polling units. What is basically hpning nw is that INEC is nw confused but they don't know hw to admit it. Ngige shld just head to court; he shldn't even bother participating in any rush-rush re-run because that election will definitely be cancelled in its totality. My 2cents!!Which returning officer are you talking about. Let me educate you a little, Anambra has 21 local government and Idemili North is just one. So if the returning officer for Idemili North is changed for incompetence or fraud that does not make the rest a sham as APC media hype has made you to believe. Ngige started my calling for cancellation in 3 LGAs: Idemili North, Idemili South and Awka South but as the results were coming in he resorted to total cancellation. Apga has scored 25% in 18 LGAs and won 16 LGAs, Did you here any of the local and foreign observers mention that the election was marred by rigging and malpractice to the extent that their is no credibility in the remaining 20 LGAs. All the places where INEC has called for supplementary election are base on report of independent observers, use your tongue to count your teeth and know that it is not about media hype but about market men and women in there villages voting for the party they believe in. |
SECTION 179 SUB-SECTION 2 OF THE NIGERIAN CONSTITUTION SAYS: (2) A candidate for an election to the office of Governor of a State shall be deemed to have been duly elected where, there being two or more candidates - (a) he has the highest number of votes cast at the election; and (b) he has not less than one-quarter of all the votes cast in each of at least two-thirds of all the local government areas in the State. As I write, APGA has scored one-quarter of votes cast in 18 of the 21 local governments. Supplementary election will only extend this lead. |
Onye daa election, ya baa uno. Do the same election 3 times, Apga will still win. The market woman in the village who is the real voter any-time any-day does not read newspapers nor watch all these media hype on TV. It is you and I in the cities who do not have voters card nor vote that are victims of the media hype. When the master riggers are prevented from rigging, their controlled media tells us that the election is rigged but if they had been successful in rigging, then it is free and fair. SORRY, ANAMBRA HAS PASSED THAT STAGE. |

I think we are talking of Nigerian Universities here. It is pure crap in our universities as far as real computer science is concerned. Those of you who did computer science for 4 yrs, can u point to one area you are good at aside your certificate? No offense intended. You will agree with me that anything you claim that you can do is pure self effort. Show me one area you are good at because you did computer science in Nigeria and I will link you up with an Indian secondary school graduate who will mess you up, no, I mean to say, humiliate you. I did arts in the university but I am good at network management. [s]My friends who are comp science graduate that work for our gsm providers will not stop disturbing me to help out resolve network issues[/s], hahaha... The problem is not just computer science but our educational system which prioritize kindergarten theory over ever evolving practical knowledge. We are more interested in the certificate than the practical know-how. Or you the Nlander, are not interested in having prefix added to your name as: Engr., Computer Scientist..., Architect, Dr, Prof, U.G....(university graduate...), Educationist..., Barr..., etc. Just certificate thinz |
Just planning: 1) Move back to villa from Abuja, that is the best option I have now. 2) Raise some loan (money matters!!!) 3) Start small Have always thought of starting big and it has remained a dream but with what I have read here, am gonna start from my uncle's uncompleted building. I will be back to villa by end of this week. Of course I will major in broilers because I know that it is the money spinner or doubler if you like. I have these concepts I call INTEGRATED FARMING AND MARKETING or INTEGRATED FM. I will be discussing them on this thread and see reactions to help me or anyone who buys into it to fine tune the ideas. Hello guys, my INTEGRATED FM are not written down anywhere but they are ideas I have thought through and developed with my naija local intelligence since the first time I developed interest in poultry farming(broiler) and as well observed others who have ventured into it. Having experienced failure twice in other areas of life and being penniless at this stage in life, I shall rise from the dust and journey along this line to stability and prosperity. Goodnight guys. |
It is with great pleasure that I greet and appreciate everyone who has contributed to this thread. To the lady that started this thread till the last person that did post, I say you have really contributed your quota positively in building the nation(a la JP Clark's poem). @Hindsight @basking4me @fnk Your leadership contributions to this thread is highly commendable. This thread struck the right cord of what I have been dreaming of doing so much so that from around 10pm yesterday to 5.30am this morning, I was studying this thread from page 1-40. From my past experiences in life, such obsession that I am having now comes from my spiritual self rather than just mental self. I hereby declare that I am in and in for good. |
? Wow ... Students will really like this new priest.
