A South African lady accused of murdering her former partner by throwing acid over him has told a jury that she did not mean to hurt “her boy” and felt “so sad” at the terrible injuries he suffered. According to the woman, she thought it was water she spilled over his face.

Former fashion student Berlinah Wallace, 49, insisted she had thought she was throwing a glass of water rather than sulphuric acid over engineer Mark van Dongen at her Bristol flat.
Giving evidence at Bristol crown court for a second day, she claimed on the night of the alleged attack Van Dongen had told her to drink the acid, which she said she had bought to clean smelly drains.
Wallace, 48, is charged with murdering Van Dongen by leaving him with such catastrophic injuries that he opted for euthanasia at a clinic in Belgium. She threw acid over him in September 2015 and he died in January 2017, the jury heard.


Before he died, Van Dongen, who had a new girlfriend, told police he woke at 3am to hear Wallace laugh and tell him: “If I can’t have you, no-one else can,” before the acid was thrown.
Wallace told the court she picked up a glass and hurled its contents at Van Dongen after he pulled her underwear during an argument. “I thought it was water,” Wallace said. “I just wanted him to stop. He was hurting me. The contents went on him. I was trying to run away then he said: ‘Ooh you threw acid at me.’
“I just turned around and I think I saw smoke or something. The only way I can describe it is black. I was so shocked. I said: ‘Come on, let’s get into the shower.’ He was saying: ‘It hurts, it hurts.’ He went in the shower.” She wept:
“I didn’t mean to hurt my boy.” He got out of the shower, pushed past her and left, Wallace said.
Wallace claimed Van Dongen must have poured the glass of acid for her to drink and left it by the side of her bed.
She said she did not phone the emergency services to assist Dutch-born Van Dongen. “I didn’t think until the police asked me,” she said. “Then I thought: ‘I should have called the ambulance.’ I was so scared, so shocked and so scared. I didn’t think about it. I was so shocked, really, really shocked.
“I was thinking: ‘Oh my God, Mark, Mark.’ My legs couldn’t carry me properly, [they were] like jelly.” When asked how she felt about what happened to Van Dongen, Wallace wept and wailed in court. “Bad,” she eventually replied. “I feel so sad. So sorry. He was my best friend. He was my family.” She dressed and threw the liquid in the glass at Van Dongen when he prevented her from leaving by pulling on her underwear, she said.
Wallace denies charges of murder and throwing a corrosive substance with intent.

Her trial continues.

He was my first love, and we had dated for just Five (5) months. We had so many dreams together – for our future.He mysteriously died.
“I dated a married man, at age, 20, for just, Four (4) weeks. The first time we had sex at a hotel, he died in his home, the very next day.
“I didn’t date for a while, due to fear – until a friend at Church, proposed to me, four years later. I was 25 years old, when I first got married. Two (2) years into our marriage, he died one dawn, after making love to me. We had no kids.
“I moved to Canada, to further my education. I met this Nigerian Army guy, who showed interest in me. He married me, when I was 30 years old. He died when I was, Seven (7) months pregnant, with our first child.
“When I was 34, my third husband, a White Canadian Man, also married me. We had an argument one day, when I was Three months pregnant with our daughter. He was getting involved with his Ex wife, and apparently, they had had sex. He confessed to me, about sleeping with his Ex, and was asking for my forgiveness.
 “Dave, I loved my husband very much, so I willingly forgave him that afternoon, and made passionate love to him, that very moment. He died in his sleep that afternoon.
“Since relocating to Ghana, two years ago, I decided never to date or marry again, however, I was getting Hot a few times, so I hooked up with a colleague at work, for just a one night ‘something’. He died in the house of his girlfriend, a day after sleeping with me.
“As I write this letter to you, I am in Takoradi. I had to move from Accra, to a different City. I couldn’t stand the horror of my life. 16,000 Bitcoin which amounted to around $141 million which is associated with the current defunct Bitcoin exchange Mt Gox were transferred on Thursday.
In accordance to CryptoGround, which is involved in the monitoring of Mt Gox remaining wallets, the Bitcoins were gotten rid of the four separate addresses in the increment of about 2,000 which have 0 BTC remaining in each of the wallets which funds were extracted from.
The wallets are said to have been under the control of the exchange bankruptcy trustee, Nobuaki Kobayashi who is a lawyer based in Tokyo. The lawyer also announced in March that he sold a total of $400 million of Mt Gox bitcoin and also Bitcoin cash in 2017 December. Currently, the Gox addresses have approximately 146,106 BTC according to the data.
Therefore, additional network data shows that the trustee holdings in Bitcoin cash are still proceeding with about 16,000 bitcoin cash sent over about four transactions.

San Francisco Grace Cathedral opened their doors to the church’s first-ever Beyoncé Mass Wednesday night and it is estimated that over 900 people came to the celebration.
The mass was a traditional service that was devoted to Beyoncé’s music and accomplishments.

The Beyoncé Mass was announced via a Facebook post two weeks ago and made local and international news. “I heard about it about a week ago and was intrigued,” said Devin Daniels, 28, of San Francisco, who sported a hat reminiscent of the singer’s headgear in her “Formation” music video.

“I’ve followed Beyoncé forever and was of course revved up to come tonight by her recent Coachella performance."

The idea sprang from a class called “Beyoncé and the Hebrew Bible” led by the Rev. Yolanda Norton, a San Francisco Theological Seminary assistant professor whose specialty is the Old Testament.

One of her students, Sam Lundquist, is a pastoral intern at the cathedral, and a collaboration was born.

For Norton, both the class and the Mass came from a desire to explore female-centric interpretations of the Bible — specifically how biblical texts reflect African American female identity.

She said: “When we talk about womanist biblical interpretation, Beyoncé felt like a natural fit.
If we look at the trajectory of her person and her relationships, we can see so many issues black women face and how it can affect how we interpret the text.”

Lagos—Justice Sedoten Ogunsanya of a Lagos High Court, sitting in Igbosere, yesterday, refused the bail application of a man charged with defiling a 10-year-old girl.

The defendant, Chinonso Kalu, who was arraigned in November 2017 on a count charge of defilement, had filed the bail application through his lawyer, Mrs Victoria Ubong.
Justice Ogunsanya, while rejecting the bail application said the defendant failed to provide credible facts before the court.
She said: “The court has always exercised its discretion while granting bail but the nature and gravity of this offence is to be taken into consideration.
“The defendant’s affidavit shows that he has no credible sureties, the affidavit also failed to provide any credible facts before this court.
“Some paragraphs of the affidavit provides falsehood against this court, therefore the application has failed and is hereby refused.”
Ogunsanya, however, adjourned the case until July 10 for trial.
The defendant was first arraigned sometime in April 2017, at the magistrate’s court and was remanded in prison, pending the legal advice from Director of Public Prosecution DPP. However, the case was transferred to the High Court following the advice of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP). The Prosecutor, Mr Adebayo Haroun, had told the court that the defendant committed the alleged offence on March 23, 2016, at 1, Malomo Close, Pen Cinema, Agege, Lagos. He said that the defendant defiled a 10-year-old girl. “The defendant had sexual intercourse with a 10-year-old girl, which contravened Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015,” Haroun said. The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The plan to forcibly deport thousands of illegal African migrants has been shelved by Israel, but is encouraging voluntary deportation.
In a written response to the country’s Supreme Court, the government said forced removal of the migrants “is no longer on the agenda”.

However, Israel’s immigration authorities are still seeking ways to deport migrants voluntarily, it said.
The fate of Israel’s roughly 30,000 illegal African migrants has become a hugely contentious issue.
The supreme court previously suspended a plan to expel the migrants – mostly from Eritrea and Sudan – unless they voluntarily accepted a cash lump sum and a plane ticket out of the country.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu then cancelled a UN deal to resettle the migrants in Western nations.
Under the deal, Israel would give “temporary residence” to a migrant in Israel for each migrant resettled abroad.
On Monday, 18 Democratic members of the US House of Representatives reportedly wrote to Mr Netanyahu saying they were “dismayed” and “disappointed” that he had dropped the UN proposal, saying it left the migrants “in limbo, with no clear next step”.
Most of the African migrants in Israel are from Eritrea – a one-party state whose leaders have been accused of crimes against humanity by a UN inquiry – and war-torn Sudan.
They say they fled danger at home and that it is not safe to return to another African country, but Israel considers the majority of African asylum seekers to be economic migrants.
Most of them entered from Egypt several years ago, before a new fence was built along the desert border. This has ended most illegal crossings.
A decision in January to offer the migrants a cash lump-sum and a plane ticket to leave Israel voluntarily or otherwise face forced expulsion has been criticised in Israel.
Some critics in the country and among the Jewish community abroad – including former ambassadors and Holocaust survivors – said the plan was unethical and a stain on Israel’s international image.
The UN refugee agency said it violated local and international laws, and large protests were held in Israel.

Lawyer Foh-Amoaning speaking to Joy News in Accra on Monday disclosed that it is quite evident with Christiane Amanpour on how she is touring African countries with her ‘Love and Sex Around the Globe’ series. The Ghanaian lawyer in his conversation revealed,
“Anderson Cooper is a homosexual, Richard Quest is a homosexual, Christiane Amanpour is and the lady who asked our president the question that is Jane Dutton is homosexual…the gay or lesbian and that is a fact.

”Mr. Foh-Amoaning insisted that a number of these international media practitioners will admit and have opened up about their sexual preference, while others cover theirs with marriage. “I’m not too sure that Richard Quest will deny that he is homosexual or Anderson Cooper, he’s not going to deny it,”
he said.

When asked by the validity of his accusations, especially regarding Christiane Amanpour, lawyer Foh-Amoaning said:

“Well go and find out, she has got a child but I know as a matter of fact that she’s involved.” He further alleged that persons championing the LGBT agenda have connections, contacts and high profile, people.

“In Europe they are the ones that go to the Oxford, to Cambridge, in the United States they go to the Harvard, Yale, and Standford and when they finish they are the ones that go to the business, politics and in the United Kingdom they lead the way as they got people in the media,”
he said.
He believes that the agenda geared towards getting Africans to accept homosexuality has been well planned and the right persons put in strategic places to ensure that is achieved.

“When the United States Ambassador says in an interview that in ten-years-time Ghana will adopt LGBT rights, the Canadian High Commissioner with the Australia Ambassador was on air and whatever they said was connected,”
he stressed.

My mom thinks I am a cat with nine lives, a girl after God’s heart. After constantly being in and out of the hospital , facing near death situations , I can confidently say, I am not your everyday kind of girl. I have never been normal, but who needs normal when I can be abnormally me. I know i am made to break records, I do it everyday. Your future is not tomorrow, it’s in the victories of everyday. You are not your past, you are whom ever you think you are. Think wisely about yourself, for if you say you are a queen, a queen you are. Our journey in life will take different paths, respect your experiences and grow with them. It’s not always rosy, afterall even roses have thorns.”
