But even occupations on the temporary shortage list had to be paid new salary threshold of more than 40k For example a laboratory technician still has to meet salary threshold of 49k plus. Who is going to pay a technician that amount? @zarah correct me if I am wrong Zahra29: Those already on the health and care route are mostly exempt - they can continue to extend their visas and bring in dependants if they already had the right to do so. The main change is the increase in the relevant salary thresholds which they will have to meet when extending their visas.
For new applicants - most NHS band 3 and 4 roles will no longer be eligible for sponsorship except a few roles like nursing auxiliaries and assistants (6131) which have been added to the Temporary shortage list until the end of 2026 (new sponsorship applicants for jobs on the shortage lists will not be able to bring dependants)
Though not explicitly stated, it is implied and likely that anyone who is sponsored before this date (and the 2028 cut off for care workers) will still be able to renew their visas after the occupation codes are demised from the shortage lists. |

I wasn’t sure of the delivery envelope. Thank you. jedisco: What part do you need more explanation on?
The delivery envelope and postal order can both be sorted at your local post office. Only thing to note is that the receivers address on the envelope would be yours. |

Please explain these items I would need to take for passport renewal for a child. Appointment date is fixed.
Is the vetted application form same as standard application form with applicants photo?
What about others like; a prepared special delivery envelope, • £20 postal order payable to the Nigeria High commission.
Thank you.

Thank you Zara I am looking at Montego Bay and Negril. Zahra29: It's generally safe if you plan to stay within the tourist resort, but if you plan to go sight seeing further afield you need to be careful.
What region/parish are you looking at and I can come back with more specific information. |

Hi All Has anyone been to Jamaica for holidays Can you give more info, how safe is it. I was looking through flights and I see stopover at Miami. Will that require a USA visa? I am planning for next summer.
If anyone has a cheaper option but not Europe I will be willing to change my destination.
Thank you. |

I had exceeded the right to appeal which is 21 days from travel date( I had no idea) I will do that Thanks Lexusgs430: What do you mean by '' out of 21 days ''.... If all your appeal fails, you might have to take your chances with the magistrates in court (by contesting the fine)......
In the interim, send an email to the rail ombudsman(clearly stating your position) .....

I have proved everything to them including the tickets but it was rejected based on the fact that it was out of 21 days from the day I got the ticket. Is there any authority I can write to because if I don’t pay they said something about court. Cyberknight: That's fine. If you say that was indeed the case, then you'll need to prove that to them. Conversely, in my experience, anytime I buy a train ticket on my phone which subsequently requires me to print out a paper ticket from a station ticket machine to pass the barriers and show the ticket inspector, the app has always clearly informed me that this is to be done. I use a variety of apps including LNER, Trainline, and CrossCountry (tried Uber too a while back). |

I bought on my app and didn’t print because it doesn’t say so on the app and that was my first time in that location so I had no idea I had to print it out. As soon as I got to the next stop I printed it out but I had already been fined. I explained but they just didn’t want to hear. Cyberknight: You haven't provided the full story. Did you buy an electronic ticket which is saved on a mobile device or did you buy a paper ticket which needed to be printed with a ticket collection reference number?
If the second type, you are supposed to print the ticket out at the ticket machine at the train station using your bank card before you travel otherwise you can be charged a penalty fare. |

Hello everyone Who do I write to if I don’t want to pay a train ticket fine. Appeal was refused I didn’t print a paper ticket( I didn’t even know some train stations still print tickets) Giving me a fine for a ticket I already paid is absurd
Do I contact citizens advice or who please
Thanks |

Which oil company is paying a nurse 5 million in Nigeria? Is it a contract job? Una dey make person laugh for here It’s like most people don’t understand what is going on in oil companies in Nigeria. What’s the role of a nurse in an oil company They don’t even pay subsea engineers, installation engineers up to 5 million lol
Madam nurse will you be going offshore? Or your company has a hospital? It’s very unlikely as most oil companies put their staff on HMO
Maybe she won’t be working as a nurse sha Let’s not fight over funny stories 😂 |

How did my daughter get her visa with letter of consent? Remember on the other thread , you guys said I shouldn’t waste my time? Did I do anything different from others ? giselle237: sometimes you people just argue without recourse to what is happening in real life. Goodluck with your signed legal letter of consent that suffices. Go and also cancel all the refusals UKVI has given out and tell them the signed letter of consent is enough. |

What happened to Nivea? I am surprised you are getting dark when you are meant to be lighter Anyway order original fair and white from Paris https://eu.fwparis.com/en/EJIOGBENIMI: Is there any one who sells original body creams imported from Nigeria? I’ve tried EBay but what was sold to me was an expensive fake cream. I use FAIR and WHITE. The one that comes in blue plastic. My skin is now becoming darker and dry. I’ve tried several products locally but none seem to be working on my skin. Any suggestion? And if someone is coming from Nigeria can help me buy some, I’m happy to pay for the cream and luggage space. Thank you |

Zahra I am still finding it difficult to understand some key words in the link i read. I even had to use chat gpt to understand some parts lol So are you saying a radiographer with the NHS will still be affected by salary threshold? So I get a band. 5 radiographer role at 25,000 does this mean I am not qualified to have dependents after April 4? Zahra29: Not ignorance, we're all getting up to speed with the new policies.
Yes there will be salary thresholds in the NHS from April 4 as follows:
- Health and care visa jobs not on a pay scale or on the Immigration Salary list: £29,000 (currently £26,200)
- Health and care visa jobs on a pay scale or on the Immigration Salary list : £23,200 (currently £20,960)
- Skilled worker visa jobs : £38,700 (currently £26,200)
Note- the Immigration Salary list replaces the Shortage Occupation list from April 4 |

How long did it take you to get your passport back after you sent it over ? I have been asked to send mine but I also need it for another visa Thanks jedisco: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/submit-profile/rounds-invitations/category-based-selection.html
This lists the professions eligible for a category based draw. Worth noting the job codes can be manytimes flexible. If you can't see yours but see related fields, it'd be worth reading the description of the job code to see what it actually entails.
With Canada, their process takes time. Visit visa took me about 8 months. Applied as a tourist, filled online form + showed funds and booked a refundable stay for my duration (cos I knew I'd need to cancel it later). After a month or 2, they asked for my biometrics. Took several more months for them to ask for my passport. I had just got a 10yr validity visa before commencing the process so overall multiple entry visit visa valid for 10yrs was worth the wait. |

Yes there was an error, dependent was not charged for IHS Thank you Goodenoch: Was there an error with paying for your dependent's IHS originally?
Anyway, your application period is from when you paid that IHS because they wouldn't have considered the application properly until that was received.
So, be patient. Nothing is wrong. You'll get it soon. |

Graduate Visa
Is anyone in same shoes as mine? I applied for graduate visa Jan 4th 2024 , they sent confirmatory email that they intend to make a decision by Feb 29th which is today
Everyone I know who applied with me and after me has received their BRP, in my case no email. The only email I got from them last week was a link to pay for IHS for my dependent which I did immediately and sent the confirmation.
What is going on with my application and why is mine different? Can I call them ?

Oh It’s a graduate visa, biometrics has been done online already before submission. I will send a paid mail. directonpc: I was charged around 600 USD for IHS. I thought maybe I'm paying less because the MA's visa has only 1 year left. 3 days after my application, I got a mail asking for top up. I believe that delayed my application by a week.
Please send a paid mail ASAP (it's even better if you do this before biometric) |
