O'Lord my God, save me from Nairalanders, before they kill someone with laughter. @Israelite, why did you mde them force you to change the thread??lol, ![]() And for goodness sake where did they see this pic of this guy with 20 wraps of fufu? :DThey don kill me with laughter ooooooooooo. |
I missed things happening in Nigeria a lot, for until Nairaland, I have always being apolitical. But I have learnt a lot about Nigeria and Nigerians since Nl time.Kudos to the founder, moderators and contributors. I would like to suggest that we adopt from this forum to our various day to day lives the habit of calling ourselves Nigerian and stopping at that.Even here when they asks me"Where are you from?, After answering I am from Africa or Nigeria, I will still proceed to say I am from Yoruba or from western part of Nigeria. I think this is one of the bane of our problems as Nigerians.Just now I was reading through the 2007 'https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-43206.0.html'. And I observed that all the venoms started from defensive /suspicious stance that he is this, I am that, he is from there, I am from here, the topic is an attack on my ethnic, religion, language etc.And in most of the topics in this forum those issues affected treating the article with deserved thoughts, suggestions and solutions. In essence, this is a clarion call to move Nigeria forward by being a Nigerian from Nigeria first before anything else, and not to bring the veil of ethnicity, religion and language to block our reasoning and perceptions of topics, issues and life and solutions.[flash=200,200][/flash] Thanks. |

quote from Abdkabir Wetin be your own, and who told you he's my supreme leader and the defender of My faith? I will defend my Own faith, Nigeria is a Secular or Multi-Religious State. Good one there, every man for himself, carry your own cross, lol, |
May his soul rest in peace. At least this is one name in Nigeria, we could associate with good reforms. My parents mentioned it to me in chit-chat while growing up in the 70s, so I more or less linked the name as I saw the post. An unsung hero, relatively unknown by later generations.Rest in peace the more Pa Udoji.Wish my parents were alive to celebrate as many years as you did.May their beautiful soul rest in peace too."Ile nje'niyan".O ma she ooo |
There are prospects for any establishment everywhere.A Nigerian in diaspora may be looking to come back home and seeking where to put his money etc.A true Nigerian should look to anything that portray positive image and intellect that Nigeria has to offer. As to whether cable could be afforded in Nigeria, look around you.Life is changing, Nigeria is moving are you going to hop on the train or, be a mere Nigerian spectator? Be proud.Point it out to others, that's an advert from one of the reputable banks in my Country. |
@Op, I am really fatigued by your questions and unpreparedness!!!Repeated questions on a matter that you could easily deduced answer to from a previous post? With all you have gathered, you do not even know what embassy to go to?Do you think you can really survived outside Nigeria? And mind you avoid that guy that said he is a Russian,You may not want to associate with such people, take his suggestions and advice, but do not contact him or give him any details he can trace you with when you arrive in Russia. Kudos to @Davedavy and @Opcomm for their patience and sparing time to go with you A to B to C and back to A , repeatedly.Thank God for such people, thank God for Nigeria. I would have given you a # in Nigeria, of a friend that schooled, worked, lived and commute Nigeria/Russia, but your thoughts and preparations are not co-ordinated at all,and not encouraging,i.e to me to stack any store by you.No personal attack pls, just the plain truth! You need work more on yourself or you may really find it difficult in a foreign place as diverse and racical as Russia. All the best anyway. |
@Seun and @Moderators, I do not understand how the posting/article above could pass your scrutiny.1.The @Houses have multiple posts on the same subject with slight variations. I have nothing against him.But for the sake of this forum and Image of Nigeria/Nigerians,I am not of the opinion that he could deliver. Quote from @HOUSES "Belize is a country in Belize is not in North America, but in Central America http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belize .Tourist place yes,but good economy, nada! I made typo mistakes too in some of my postings, but if this guy/gal is really into business and has track record, he would have done his/her homework well and make things much presentable. Chase your dream, but know who is on the track-field with you or leading you. |
Please see the thread "lets get you to Belize in two weeks".There is no way on Planet earth that that is possible.People should try and familiarize themselves with what is happening worldwide.Let noone fool noone here please. We are making to make our Country Nigeria better. US through Carribeans is not easy for the natives talkless of a Nigerian! And truly I did not blame the person that asked the poster where he works etc. Genuine people that can do it (if it is at all possible) will not post it the way he did.And by the way, could the @poster provide address and contacts of people who he has ferried successfully? Thanks. |
I marvel that noone has posted in a reply.Do not fret yourself.Mostly it is the regular what are you going to do where will you stay, what is your marital status, do you have any ties to US or Nigeria etc questions, what is your means of support and who is responsible for the expenses etc. If you have all your papers and supporting documents okay, you then need to be psychologically prepare and calm for any questions that the Consular may confront you with. If he/ she feels satisfy with you at least 6:10 you may be lucky.Other wise well, i's not the end of the world. But do not go in expecting the heaven of being approved.Travelling to US should not be a do or die matter. If you are refuse, note why you are refuse and make corrections forthwith in your next venture to any other embassy or US if you still want to repeat your longings to holiday there. But from what you wrote, job and letter etc, you may be considered. But like I said it is no win win situation. Be prepare and be yourself. |
This is a call to @Seun and @the Moderators.I am suggesting that a form of filter be put in place here to first check intended posts. I was reading through the comments and on getting to @Marvix,I find it difficult to make sense of his article, not much about his opinion as in the way he wrote it out.Thank God @Texazzpete observe the same lax and commented. As I understand, there is no limit on the word count and one is not paying per page(unless you are posting from your mobile phone terminal!?).And let us remember that this forum is not just for Nigerians but for friends of Nigeria a.k.a the World. So let's strive to make our comments and post as legible and credible as possible.Too much input of one's self-made lexicon will only put off the audience and readers and ultimately the wisdom behind the article will be lost. I rest my case,Thanks. Oh ok, as per the rally, Oshiomole,IBB and the boycotts, one thing is evident, a "saint/mass saviour' today may be turn gradually to the villain of tomorrow in the Nigerian polity. So we just have to open our eyes the more and sift out every "good person" that has gone bad and rotten in the next electoral engagements. |
This seems an all female affair, However the @ poster if she is in Nigeria can call Evelyn on 08052044735 to fit her up. @moderators, something should have been done to correct the typo error, Akara(beancake) cf Ankara (textile material, wax etc) Good responses @all, those styles and pics are really good to show to the female folks in one's family. Kudos, ! |
All said and done, the whole discuss here portray still the decadence that has eaten deep into the embodiment call Nigeria.I know there are some flaws in the Acting President's speeches, his posture too(half of the time Amanpour had to retract her feet.)However, if we are Nigerians and we want to be honest,we all know that wherever we go, lots of things betray us,and majority of us exhibits the same demeanour just like our President did.So there's call for improvements to be as per standard. From the Acting President to the Primary School pupils. And tell me, what are the Personal Assistant and the PR guys to Actg Pres doing? We should constantly strive to better ourselves in every facets and ramifications.Even here on this forum, the way some posters writes and constructs leaves many things/rooms to be desire. Now,if our Masqurades dances well,we will all be happy,so let's just hope and work as well as walk for the upliftment of excellence in Nigeria's governance and leadership. It touches every thing and it starts from here through me and you.Let's see how we can improve individuals more from on here on to the general populace.I wont be surprise if the polity start making nominations from right among Nairalanders. As for me, I am learning a lot from everyone here, and did I read somewhere that 'the day one stops learning and trying to improve is the death day'? |
Redemption Song from Bob Marley to Rihanna and in between: Old pirates, yes, they rob I; Sold I to the merchant ships, Minutes after they took I From the bottomless pit. But my hand was made strong By the 'and of the Almighty. We forward in this generation Triumphantly. Won't you help to sing This songs of freedom 'Cause all I ever have: Redemption songs; Redemption songs. Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery; None but ourselves can free our minds. Have no fear for atomic energy, 'Cause none of them can stop the time. How long shall they kill our prophets, While we stand aside and look? Ooh! Some say it's just a part of it: We've got to fullfil the book. Won't you help to sing This songs of freedom- 'Cause all I ever have: Redemption songs; Redemption songs; Redemption songs. --- /Guitar break/ --- Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery; None but ourselves can free our mind. Wo! Have no fear for atomic energy, 'Cause none of them-a can-a stop-a the time. How long shall they kill our prophets, While we stand aside and look? Yes, some say it's just a part of it: We've got to fullfil the book. Won't you have to sing This songs of freedom? - 'Cause all I ever had: Redemption songs - All I ever had: Redemption songs: These songs of freedom, Songs of freedom. |

AkenzuaII seems tohave a solution in mind. That's very possible perspective. But the prob is abuse and misuse. However I think things are looking up as regard Nigeria buying and selling online now. @akenzuaII,would like to link up with you. |
Well,I don't know about the animals I ate being crazy,'cause My dad like the wildlifes, so all my growing up years I was opportuned to eat so many animals caught in his trap or that he bought from road hawkers. All kind of birds,Monitor(Anta),Antelope,Deer,Snakes (different varieties), "Eta"(I do not know the English name for that. It's this animal that sleeps too much. The animal on that day was caught in the trap and yet he/she went to sleep !!),"Iki"(English name not known), "Ofafa"(Ennk),"Ajao"(The one that has the arm longer and bigger than the thigh),"Akere and Konko"(varieties of Toads),Cat(domestic and wild),"Turuku'(Wild Boar/hog), Turtle, dove, and when I really grew up,I ate crocodile(was one of the delicacies at the steak/grill in Sheraton Abuja),different kind of rats. Those are some that I could recollect now.One animal I look forward to eaten is the elephant(Was told it has the taste of every animal on planet earth) |
