@inspiredM.I got to knew of you in the post- nominee comments.Somebody mentioned you deserves some accolade. So I came round to check.I am very impressed. When I get to the States, will seek you out to learn from you some things. And thanks to the fora organiser and to you.People like you make the Nigerian dream attainable.I did not believe when the commentator said u sold so many vehicles, until I checked now!!Honest work, clean dealings in Nigeria, via the internet!!THANK GOD OF HEAVEN AND EARTH AND OF OUR ANCESTORS. May God continue to guide and keep you.God bless. |
I was reading through the Next page, and I came across this article on Uncle Tunji Oyelana, and I believe it will be a good read for the NLs that grew up in the 70s and before and also to all that are interested in anything that is excellently Nigerian.Thanks. http://234next.com/csp/cms/sites/Next/ArtsandCulture/Music/5502065-147/Tunji_Oyelana_at_home_and_abroad.csp?CSPCHD=000000010000332l8xin000000qmHiMwB_rQjvjVRjKY0sqw-- |
@Jarus, I believe you are noting the original person(s) that posted the articles that the nominees you are interviewing says made/is making impact on them? Biggjoe(the free to air Satellite Tv),these are NL "philanthropist(s)" of noteworthy. |
@Jarus.A+++ posting this one is.Very informative and inspiring for newcomers like me.I just chanced on Nl not long ago,and at 1st it was the humorous sides of the comentators that got to me, then gradually I'm getting hooked.Your posting 's like a summary/brief on NL, inception to date. Thanks so much.I will need go and check those people's contribution now, just to learn. We got brains in and outside Nigeria you know.By the way, why not Jarus?Ok I am nominating you for all your efforts both hidden and revealed for the cause/course that is Nairaland and Nigeria as a whole. Now I was reading an article, I believe i's here somewhere (Autos)about shipping to Nigeria etc,and this guy Jidody among others did a great job there.Just reading through the response was an enough class and how to do for me.Check him out too.I believe you have master access to all NLs. God bless you all.Let's keep the dream and hope alive. We will get there, crawling or walking,as God liveth.Amen |
@Confuse 10:That will be a hell of a union.Whatever you do, DO NOT stay anymore in that relationship. If you are not owing anything to the person, get off now and put miles between you two.If you are anxious of been left behind in dating and getting hooked, there are resources to help you find the right person. Please for the sake of your heritage, leave that man!! He is an obssessive pervert and does not regard you at all as a person or human being.Do you want to live all your life bending to his every whims and caprices?Tell you what he is like a desert land that will never be satisfy,no matter the amount of rainfall. One day the guy will just kill you pointblank for no reason!! |
@moderators, honestly I don't know why you don't or choose not to edit some of the postings here!!The grammatical errors are just too much!!I figured out it is allowed to write the internet slangs, abbreviations, pidgin english etc, but what about someone thats writing in Queen's english and cannot spelt correctly? The moderators and owner(s) of Nairaland should take time to edit or input a add-on that can automatically spell-check!!! Pls and Pls foreigners come here too, not just we Nigerians, Let's show we are educated!! @Posters(those affected only) kindly endearvor to read through your comments and to spell check before you hit the 'add comment/submit comment button. Thanks "Check out the posting by "OPC" Builty is in the eye of the beholder!!! As per the main article, some relationships are like a mini-captivity,some are like mini-zoo,and some, the rare, are paradise like. But in all there is always a way to work out a midway. |
Culled fromYahoo news 04/01/10 http://finance.yahoo.com/family-home/article/109225/why-blackberry-users-will-defect |
well, I do not know what the @poster meant to get by the posts. But yes there are ladies out there and in this NL that are all in all packages, the problem is that most of them are so unfortunate to meet the wrong guy, and so they iron clad the best parts and majority of the packages!! @ ebonyeyes, that's not so cool of you to have that kind of pics on ur profile and to direct people to see it.You really got me big time, lol, And @moderators,which is legal on here?no pics or false/non representative pics on user's profile? |
Are you limiting urself to Nigerian ladies only? If no,then do u care if the lady has an issue already, not living with her? |
I am a guy.but I have added you for a reason in my yahoo. When we chat, I'll let you know. |
Well, guys looking for ladies etc You need to make urself actually available and really be serious in knowing what u are looking for. Love, dating and marriage is not something that you could handle with levity.I noticed some of the posts here are like jokes which shouldn't be.(I suggest the moderator should screen people that posts here).Make your profile up to date etc And I noticed that some contributors were of the opinion that u cant get nothing from NL and the calibre of ladies here are trash(user aka obnoxious' post). That's not true 'cause ladies that are here are progressive and open minded and advanced ladies. They are professionals that are here just to contribute one thing or the other as well as share ideas. Do you guys not know the Westlife song , everybody is looking for something, ?It can be find anywhere, keep hope alive! |
U need to update ur profile with ur pics, ur location and some datas about you. |
@1luvkipsus You may wish to check http://www.internetslang.com/ for the meaning of that and more |
This is absolutely beautiful!!!! Kudos to you guys that contributed here especially to Jidody. This is how Nigerians should interact open heartedly and with trusts without suspecting the other of trying to scam him/her.If we lay the example otther nations will follow suit. But, how come some of the enquirers asks repeated questions? Some thing that has been asked and answer has been provided? It is annoying.People should take time to look through the whole conversation and make a wise decision as to what to ask or do next. Thanks to y'all once again and to NL fora organiser, God bless you too and God bless dear Country, I am impressed and proud, |
Medlabgirl, I got this post from actual searching for you.I got to know about Nairaland just 3 or so days ago,and I read through the discuss and on getting to the comment postings, I was so engrossed in nairaland that I stay till like 3 am just reading the comments, I laugh ,hold my side till water oozed from my eyes.It was a new discover fun for me.Now your commnets back and forth with one of the contributors on the 'US probe 2 pastors' etc really get me to want to know more of you. Anyway, as to this 'lonely abroad'thing,I could feel your longings, though you have been there longer , 12 years, but for fresh arrivees like me, sometimes I wonder why did I leave my country to come to this, atimes it get so lonely that I am a step a way from booking my ticket back home, but then when I think of what I left behind and the opportunity that could be garnered for my folks left back in NG, I stay and live 1 day at a time, moment by moment. How to cope,I think you should invest more in people around you, your kids, volunteer for this and that,if u have the time to spare. Also thinking about some info or talents that u have that may be educative /enlightening to others worldwide and posting it on wikipedia.com or ehow.com will occupy your time and is very rewarding too.The other thing left is to have a chat buddy that u can connect with anytime and just unwind.Movies,u've seen some impossible movies like the beverlyhills chihuahua,Beverly hills hillybillies,Matilda,multiplicity,007 collections etc, I know u may have gone through all that taking note of your long sojourn abroad. You may think of going over some of them with your kids. Now how about learning to do something you have always want to do, belle dancing, learning to play a musical instrument, yoga, singing, writing a poetry etc , no more space, 2 write |
Begining of good times to come, hopefully. We should not be skeptical about this development, rather we should prepare to play our own part by paying the tarrifs as and at when due just like they do elsewhere that has sanity.By the time u carry, I carry, they carry , Nigeria will be up in no time. Do you know how much talent/craftsmanship will be manifest if there is constant supply of power? How much turn around will come for the economy and individuals alike? How much knowledge and awareness from just being able to enjoy simple things as the news and happening of the worlds, being able to view the Animal planet, the Historical channel, the Health-discovery channel Atimes when I see life here and how life is here abroad,I cried silently for Nigeria and for people that are looking to God everyday for a way out of this parody of a country that Nigeria has become. Can you imagine, I never know there are other Channels on the Tv apart from NTV/NTA and then the because/AIT/Murhi for all my years in Ibadan until I got to Ghana, and when I get here now, waow,I could view about 150 channels for absolutely nothing!! And to think this country here could not match my beloved Country Nigeria, oil for oil, resources for resources, both human and natural!!! I just cry and cry.Check out peoples comment on this issue here, we have been so traumatized and so harrassed that it is an abnormality to our psyche to have a normal and working amenities that others eslewhere just accept as regular!!!!!! |
I think it is high time we start proffering recomendations for a way forward in our Country.Whether they will take it or not is left to them, but when we have the suggestions out there, then we'll be on the look out for a beffiting /suitable person to vote in and then petition the NASS.But unfortunately, alas, Nigeria and operations doesnt go like that.Let's not lose hope, redemptions comes soon, |
What will you recommend to GON or the Minister of Mines and power as a way to Nigeria having a durable power supply. |
This is two-fold. 1.Let's say we have something like NNN.COM/Heroes,and you have a chance to nominate just three(3) individuals, who will they be,and for what reason? 2a.Has being put in charge of something ever changed your view of leadership? How? 2b.Have you ever had to question or challenge a leader? What did you learn? 2c.How have you learned to work with leaders? 2d.Who was a great leader in your life? Why? While you are at it,take time to thank a leader for his/her investment in your life, |
