emmy9500:
The Boeing 747 will take an average of 500 passenger and average price of flight to London from Lagos is ₦200,000. That means the airline operator's makes ₦100,000,000 from a flight ,when fuel and maintenance costs have been removed I believe they will still make huge profit
dey make profit .but huge I doubt.

don't forget aviation fuel is more expensive in nigeria

Boko Haram is commander in chief of lies. They actually have people working for them on social media hyping up and trying to make their operations look coordinated or focussed on objectives whereas all they do is attack weak locations at well chosen times, steal weapons run and then go on sovial media to tweet or post.
They have lost ground holding capability hence remain technically defeated. If NAF gets enough Super Tucano aircraft and the NA gets aviation units, they will be history
funny reply

Who actually trains these soldiers on base defence, base intelligence & QRF support?

How easy would it be to rush QRF in transport helicopters and surround a boko haram unit attacking a FOB? With UAV overflight surveillancehuh

By now, these techniques should have been perfected.

My opinion, soldiers on ground are doing their best. You don't take knife to gun fights.

The regular troops find it hard to sustain a heavy attack without the help of specialized units.
then our senior officers are clueless. from colonels to the highest ranking general ,should be held responsible for incompetence .
if we keep on like this which officers would lead the the army in the future

The US also spends more on research, plus it has a larger pool of professionals and experts to pick from.

In the air, the US will continue to dominate the world in decades to come.

I don't see any country coming close.

Air Superiority is fundamental to the US way of war.

No country on earth can match the US in the air. They've proved it against the Russians over Korea and in Vietnam.

Only the Russians have the capability to defend against US Air superiority, not in the air(because they know they would lose) but with ground based integrated air defence systems.
US defeating the Su57 is only if just one of the Russian pilot defects with the aircraft to he west or its allies.

don't forget even Russia are into researchs too.

with a better economy Russia will catch with the west in no distance time.

Finally. I have been wondering how much longer they would have waited. Is not a shame that educated people would be arguing like dafts.
How can a woman who gave up her father's name just for getting married to your brother and bore you beautiful children suddenly become a stranger?
At times like this, I recall my earlier posts that we will be worse off as Biafrans. Imagine Bianca Ojukwu suddenly becoming an Ngwo indigine just because of her desire to serve the only people she has known as kinsmen for the better part of her adult life. Ikemba Nnewi must be turning in his grave by now. What a shame!
Dame Bianca Ojukwu, you have my vote and that of many others. Let's do this.

Education › Re: Construction Of Transportation University To Start Very Soon - Rotimi Amaechi by giles14(m): 5:40pm On Sep 07, 2018
HigherEd:
The construction of the $50 million (N18bn) Transportation University to be located in Daura, Katsina State will start by next year, the Minister of Transportation, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, has said.

The university is to be built by China Civil and Construction Company (CCECC) and is part of the Federal Government’s efforts to develop qualified manpower that will manage the many railways facilities across the country and other transportation facilities, Amaechi added.

The minister told journalists in Abuja recently that in addition to Katsina, another Transportation University might be built in Rivers State to meet the growing demand of manpower in the transportation sector.

He said the contract has already been awarded to CCECC and the construction would have commenced if the governor of Katsina State had provided land for it, adding that once the state government provided the land, CCECC will mobilize to site and fence the land for construction to start.

He said the young Nigerians being trained on scholarship in China on Railway Engineering upon completion of their studies would be deployed to teach in those universities for a period of time before they are allowed to do other endeavours.

“If we get the land, the fencing will start this year. The CCECC has written to ask for land from the state government,” he said.

"B...but Its not that good"

20:1 K-D against F-16s at the last Red-Flag. F-16's have a *real life* K-D of 76:1. Run the numbers... if 1 F-35 has a K-D that is a factor of 20X greater than a platform with a K-D of 76:1... what kind of K-D can we expect from the F-35?

"B..but muh $1 trillion"

Now that it has entered regular production it is at $90 million per unit, its cheaper than its "competitors" (ie: F15E Strike-Eagle is over $100mil, ). Once extended production begins (production for US allies who bought it) per unit costs are projected to drop *below* $80 million per unit. which is the same price as the plane its replacing (F-16 Block 70 costs $80 million)

Just as an indicator, here is an F-35 using IR to detect enemy ground targets from 30,000ft while flying at Mach 1.2. Oh, and the red-squares you see on the targets? Thats the FCS telling the pilot that it has worked out a firing solution and that he can engage... all he has to do is press a button. Oh, and he doesnt even need to move the plane to look at the targets, his helmet allows him to "see through" the floor of his plane.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fHZO0T5mDYU

If the above video doesnt have your jaw on the floor then you dont understand enough about aircraft to realize just what an earth-shattering advance this is.
$80mln in your dreams

apart from stealth what else does the F35 offer?
don't shout networking and sensor fusage

murphyibiam15:
BUA Group on Wednesday said it was commencing core drilling in Ebonyi preparatory to establishing a cement plant in the state.
The Group Managing Director of the company, Kabiru Rabiu, announced this in Abakaliki, the state capital, when he led the management team of the firm on a visit to Governor Dave Umahi.
Mr. Rabiu expressed surprised that the state has no functional cement factory despite having enormous limestone deposit.
Limestone is the major raw material used in the production of cement.
Mr Rabiu further noted that coal, a necessary energy needed for cement production is also in abundance in the state.
He noted that the state was also strategically located for cement production.
“We are planning to set up a cement plant here in Ebonyi state,” the nusinessman said. “The state is actually the host of the first cement plant in Nigeria, the NIGERCEM but it is quite surprising that today there is no single operational cement plant not only in Ebonyi state but in the entire eastern part of Nigeria.
“We are here because the state is blessed. It has a huge deposit of limestone which is very high in quality. The state also has coal which is a necessary energy needed for cement production.
“The state is strategically located; it is close to Enugu, close to Cross River State, close to the Middle Belt. I mean the local government where these deposits are located is very close to Benue, which is in the Middle Belt.
“Your Excellency, when we were coming into the state, we saw a road being built with concrete (concrete road) by your administration which goes along way to show your commitment to infrastructure and we also found out about the development of the ring road which is also about 150kms and we learnt that it is going to be built by concrete.
“So, naturally, the state is a market itself not only being positioned in a strategic location but also a large consumption of cement is going to be undertaken by the zone.
“We are really excited about the state, about the location, about the quality and the volume of the limestone you have for cement production here in Ebonyi State.”
Responding, Governor Umahi assured the group of total support by providing enabling environment for the company to operate.
He said the state was proposing a law to protect investors in the state.
