PoliticsFayose, APC Lawmakers’ Meeting Deadlocked by gingger(op): 6:53am On May 26, 2015
The Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, and the 19 aggrieved All Progressives Congress lawmakers in the Ekiti State House of Assembly met behind closed doors on Monday in Akure, Ondo State.

The meeting, which was held at Sunview Hotel, Alagbaka, had five of the APC lawmakers in attendance and lasted for over five hours.

At the meeting were the embattled Speaker, Dr. Adewale Omirin, his deputy, Tunji Orisalade, Bunmi Orilowo, Churchill Adedipe and Gbenga Odebunmi.

Also at the meeting were the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Dipo Anisulowo; the Ekiti State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Owoseni Ajayi; a lawmaker-elect, Mr. Kola Oluwawole, and the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. John James.

Both parties, however, kept sealed lips on the outcome of the meeting when journalists approached them after the meeting.

Fayose said, “I don’t want to answer any question, but we are only going to make one statement and the statement is: today we have met, in the overall interest of our state believing that we will be able to find solution to the problem.”

When also asked to comment, Omirin too declined comments saying, “What the governor said was actually what we have done.”

Shortly after the meeting, the governor left while the five lawmakers continued with the meeting.

The lawmakers had on April 30 shunned a peace meeting convened by Chief Afe Babalola (SAN) to reconcile them with the governor in Ado Ekiti citing insecurity.

However, in a statement later issued by Omirin’s Special Adviser on Media, Wole Olujobi, the APC lawmakers, who said they acceded to the governor’s request for a fence-mending meeting following his phone calls to the Speaker, insisted on a return to the status quo as at November 11, 2014 before any peace deal could be struck.

The statement partly read, “While the governor emphasised before the lawmakers the offer of their salaries and other entitlements, the lawmakers insisted on return to the status quo as at November 11, 2014.

“That means restoring all the principal officers to their positions and all aides of the Speaker, Deputy Speaker, including those of other principal officers should be restored to their positions.

“The lawmakers made it clear they were ready to return to their jobs and the governor should provide atmosphere for that possibility. They asked the governor to clear the House of Assembly of thugs and create conditions that would make them do their jobs without any security threats.

“They insisted that restoring the security aides of the principal officers and opening the Assembly for resumption of their legal duties should be the starting point for the restoration of peace.”

PoliticsNECAN Accused Discos Of Extorting Customers by gingger(op): 8:38am On May 23, 2015
The Nigerian Electricity Consumers Advocacy Network, NECAN, has accused the Distribution companies of extorting customers by billing them for unsupplied power. This is even as customers in Isashi areas in Lagos state has warned DISCOs marketing officers in the area not to venture entering the areas with the notion to disconnect resident until there is improvement in the power supply deliver to the community.
“In a chat with Vanguard, the Interim President of NECAN, Mr. Tomi Akingbogun, said “There is a big challenge in the billing system of the DISCOs to customers because tariff is so high with the bills pegged at a constant and increasing rate despite the drop in power supply to make up for such demands from the public.”
According to him, the power sector is faced with total collapse. “The actions of the DISCOs and GENCOs are not yielding positive results, as they seem to show more interest in generating money without maximum satisfaction to Nigerians.
He added that the SMEs and other businesses are suffering due to their inability to meet up demands as they spend over 20 percent of their income on fuelling generating sets. “Due to this lingering issues associated in the industry, I can say something is deeply wrong with both the GENCOs and the Distribution companies because the customers on their part are ready to pay high as long as they see the dividend of what they are paying for,” he said.
The NECAN boss however charged the incoming administration to investigate, probe culprits associated with all forms of irregularities in the power sector, as well as put in place measures that would help rid the system of extortion customers presently experience. In the same vein, A residence of the affect community, Kenneth Ikechukwu, observed that power supply to community is not encouraging yet they are being giving exorbitant charges at the end of the month as bills.
“How can one be paying for what he did not buy? It is very unfortunate that these companies owing the defunct PHCN assets are not bothered with the plight of customers, but instead they are always consistent in collecting money month end.
Another resident, a business tycoon at the area who prefers not been mentioned in the print, said he uses an average of N1000 daily to power his generator. “When I calculate what I spent on petrol for my generator a year, it is amounting over N350 000 and this is because my family cannot stay without power.
“Also, irrespective of the heat we have to rid, I still have to power my generating set to watch programmes on the T.V, this is because if you do not go that far you would lose money paid to watch the cable network connected as there is no refunds to such payment,” he added.“Residence however, urged in the incoming administration to look into this issues and proffer a lasting solution to fraudulent act ongoing in the power sector.

Let's share among ourselves about the kind of power supply we re experiencing for this few days if it's good or not.. .
As for me for d past 4days have not seen light and still I pay #750 for maintenance charge of which if my meter is bad I have to pay to repair it or if I have a broken pole I have to buy for myself.. The most annoying part is they will come and start threatening to disconnect my light even for d light I have not seen..

I rest my case here.. Let's here from others..

If Barrys mum is back, then the flash has messed up with the timeline. The consequences of this would be dire as he has created an alternate reality of both the past and present. Reminds me of Flashpoint paradox. .

Exactly.. But will there be season 2? Since d mum is back.. It means his dad will not do to prison.. But Barry was big not a kid wen his mum came back to life.. When he told his mum it's him.. His mum was surprised
