Hi @olukemiyemi pls when you had your 1st baby @Virginia, how long did it take to get birth cert, SSN and U.S passport. I'm currently in Virginia, awaiting baby's arrival. Did a little research and found out expedited birth cert and passport here takes 2-3 weeks min for each. ie 4-6wks after delivery! Any advice? All Virginia mums pls help! I only planned 3wks stay after delivery |

Pls,Can i ask why u are having a baby in US now instead of canada? Since you already had your toddler there. Any specific advantage? adluv: Congratulations on ur smooth POE it's God, pls send ur email or pm me or better still email at adhezekiah@gmail.com I need some clarification from u plsssssss.
I'm sorry it took a while to share my own Point of Entry story. I travelled on Etihad and had a connecting flight at Abu Dhabi. Also, the Abudhabi airport has an alliance with the US Immigration system such that you are expected to meet the CBP officers before connecting to your US flight. Also, bear in mind that i travelled with my toddler son who is a Canadian Citizen. And i was 34 weeks old and wore a maternity winter Pea Coat.
So Please see below my conversation with the CBP Officer.
CBP Officer: How you Doing Me: I'm Fine Thank You CBP Officer: Can i have your Passports? Me: Hands him me and my son's Passports CBP Officer: Please Place your hands on the Scanner Me: I did as asked CBP Officer: Where's Your final destination? Me: IAD in Washington CBP Officer: Stamps our Passports till Marc 2017, hands them over to me and says "You folks enjoy your holiday" Me: Was shocked at first that he didnt ask me what we were going to do in the US. I quickly gathered myself and tells him "Thank you".
I collected our Passports and briskly proceeded to the our connecting gate.
My sisters and brothers, na so God do am for me o. I was already over prepared with cash and documents, but i ended up not requiring them. All i can say is that it is the Hand of God at work.
I look forward to sharing my testimony of child birth and hospital fees too very soon by God's grace.
Goodluck to everyone. and remember, Prayer changes things! |

gtkay: Hello sabi mamas. I had my princess 3weeks ago with tears and cut. Now i feel a pulling pain around my urethra when i stand up, most tyms i ve to bend cos of the pain. I'm really worried cos i took all my drugs and i still do my sit baths. I feel no pain when i pee and no smelly discharge. Please has anyone been thru this? Congrats on your princess. The pain will go away with time. Its from the sutures of the episiotomy site. You can use a pain reliever spray around the area or just take pain relievers. If the pain is so severe, you have to see the obstetrician |

Hi dumdum,I would like to know if you got a doctor's correspondence before travelling. What did you show at new York poe apart from the mail Christine sent about the price quote? How do I get a doctors appointment before I travel. TX dumdum001: The name of my doctor is Dr Shirley webbe... I remember the dietician mentioning to me that I had a very good doctor when she saw her on the corridor. She was quite busy running from her office to the theatre and had a medical student following her about. She gave me a two weeks appointment. |

Pls rectify the bills with the finance department of the hospital. The maternity package fee you paid covers it. Be very sure of what you pay and hold all receipts.[ quote author=Alemo50 post=30400171]Hi. A word of caution for those who plan to use Delaware County Memorial Hospital (DCMH): Expect more bills after paying the full maternity package. My wife delivered there after we had paid the so called self-pay maternity package of $7500 (6000 for delivery, 1500 fro antenatal care). After delivery we received a bill of around $3000 or so for anaesthesia. Then another bill for paediatrician. Today again, another one called physician bill. I don't know when the bills will stop coming: am I to expect nursing bill? JOHESU bill? Etc. I seriously regret using them now. Just for those who do not know. The funniest thing was that their financial person told me that after I had paid the full maternity package, all I needed to pay more is anaesthesia fee, which would just be a couple of a hundred dollars, but she was wrong. At any rate, it was her word against mine[/quote] |
