Chief said as he storms out of the room
leaving Favour on her kneel and Simon
standing……. “La la la,”Simon began singing in the
parlour, on seeing the reaction of Chief to his
daughter. “And you think that you have
won?”Favour said wiping off her tears with
the back of her hand as she raised up her
head looking at Simon with a heartless mind. “Well,if you say so,but I’m letting you
know that you have no choice than to marry
me and *forget* any other
dude,Hahahha”Simon exclaimed as he gave
out an evil laugh. “I promise you once again
that,you will not see my Underwear talk less of having me
, I bet it with you*”Favour said that
looking up to Simon and as she finished her
words she angrily went downstairs leaving
Simon on the couch .As she was getting
downstairs,she met Karis who was preparing to go to the main parlour. They
saw each other,their eyes puckered in
attention “Favour,Favour!!!”he called her
but She
was just staring at him with tears .“Answer
me please, I have been hearing your voice with dad’s own from my room,what
was goin on?”Karis asked her again ***No
reply**** “Karis,follow me ”Favour
said and as drag Karis
downstairs. “Where are we going this early
morning?”Karis who was uncomfortable with her mood said that to her. Unknowingly
to Karis,Favour was actually
dragging him to his room .“Open the
door”she commanded *****What has gone
over this girl,why is she
behaving in this manner,I think she is being depressed and fustrated******Karis said
within himself. “See Favour,I can’t open
the door for you
because this is my room and moreover ,you
need to tell me what happen ”He charged at
her .“Karis,please open the door”She barked
at him again ******On seeing her level of
desperation,and
to avoid more trouble,he opened the door
and Favour entered,she quickly dragged in
Karis and lock the door from behind**** “Favour why are you doing this to me for
*GOD’s sake* you are hurting me
now”Karis
said pitifully .“Karis,I want to ask you a
question…do
you love me?” Favour let slip with some drop of tears from her eyes and at this time
she is still
with her night gown loosely wore on her
****Why is she asking me such question?
****Karis said within him self
and finally let slip, “Of course,Favour I love you with all my
heart”Karis replied as he fixed his eyes on
Favour. On hearing this,Favour ran close to
Karis and
began to kissi every part of him…. She begin
to remove her night gown but Karis stopped her.“Favour
Stop!!!” Karis stopped her as he
held her hand..”why are you doing this
now,what has gone over you,I knew you
are precious gem ,what happened?”Karis
asked as but she cooled him down .“My dad is pushing me to the den,he is
pushing me to the snake’s hole…(She
bursted into tears) .“Favour don’t cry,I
understand you and I know we will
overcome this,”Karis said and held her
close to himself. “I don’t love Simon,I hate him,it’s you I love Karis,please don’t
make me regret
ever falling in love with you because I
don’t
think I will ever leave you for any other
man, Karis”Favour said as she continue to cry. “I love you too Favour.”Karis said as
he
wiped her tears away from her eyes
.Suddenly,a knock was heard from the
door,***Who could that be?** “Karis open
this door for me.”The voice shouted from outside. “I’m dead,who
could this be?”Karis who
was afraid, let slip .“I don’t know
either”Favour replied while trying to re-
adjust herself .“Karis, don’t you hear me,I
said open this door for me” the voice shouted again. On
hearing this Karis took a deep breath and
said as he faces Favour,”Whatever the
consequence,I will always love you”Karis
said as he kissed Favour and headed to
open the door but to his greatest suprised ,the figure
standing at the door was………Who could it

wife’s room?” .On hearing this, Favour’s
head rang…..***What the hell does my dad think
he is doing*** she said within her self and
stood up facing
her dad .“No,no dad,is too early,let him
stay
in the guest room”She said trying to convince her dad but it all turned into
deaf hears….. “Don’t you know he’s
your husband,so
he must sleep in your room”her dad said.
“No, I don’t want him..”Favour shouted
as she flewed iñto her room in anger. “Dad I don’t know what’s wrong with
Favour,right from the time I arrive, she has
been trying to avoid me”Simon said as he
was shedding *crocodile tears* .‘My in-
law,don’t mind her,she hasn’t
adapt your way of life,but with time she will get to like you”The chief said. “Thank you
Sir”He replied ,on seeing chief
going upstairs ***Plan 1 exhibited,I'm getting
in there***Simon thought and he laughed
wickedly ********At about five hours later
in the night around 11pm,Favour heard a gentle twist of
the door knob in her room****** **who is
coming to my room by this
time**She thought and finally asked, “Who
is that?” “It’s me,Simon your
husband”The voice silently spoke from behind the door
***ooohhh,why has theisguy been so
troublesome**Favour thought as she
reluctantly move to open,(Although,she was
wearing her night gown which was revealing
her c bossom) .“Yes,yes,what can I do for you
at this time
of the night”She shouted at him .“Calm
down,babe,at least,you should usher me
in”Simon replied holding
on to the wall. “Ok,come in” ***He comes in and immediately locked the
door from behind*** .“Hey man,what’s
wrong with you,why
did you lock the door?”Favour shouted as
he jumped on her bed. ” Well,since I’m
your husband . I have the authority over you ,girl”Simon said
giving out a wicked laugh . “Look,Simon you
must be joking,Because I don’t love you and
I don't have feeling for you,my
love is with someone else”Favour said
defiantly as she turns her back at Simon. “You see,either you like it or not ,I will
be the guy that will disvirgin you”Simon
said and move closer to
Favour.Favour was shock when she
heard what Simon said ****Oh my goodness
who told this goat that I’m still a virgin,no wonder he’s been
desperate to lie with me****Favvour said
within her self and faces Dimon again. “I
know that my father has been feeding
you with all these dirty stories for you to

“Dad,please try to hear my
complaints”She tearfully pleaded with her father , the Chief looked up angrily

out of the

Mohammed
Airport* at about 9:45am in the morning,so
the passengers were alighting and they were
going into the welcoming section when Karis
saw a figure coming towards him,the figure wore a shirt and tattered jean,somehow
sagging and the way he was coming one can
predict that the figure is at his *middle 20s*
(23-25 years) ****Could this be Simon..No I
doubt it***Karis thought on the seat he was
sitting at the reception .“Hey yo Man,are you
Karis ?”the figure said as he approached
him .“Yes,”Karis replied
shockingly on how he quickly know his name
.“Are you suprised how I got to know your
name ,right?”Simon asked. “Not really”Karis
replied bravely. “Ok,I’m Simon and with
what I heard,I guess you are the *Errand boy
of chief*”he said rudely and extend his f
oran
hand shake. *****So,then tell you say I be errand boy****Karis thought. “Yea,you are
right” he replied with an hand shake.
“Well
no problem,pack this and put it all at the back
seat”Simon commanded him pointing to his
heavy luggages ****What!!!so this guy is truely rude like the way Favour said,see
how
he was comanding me****Karis said within
him .
“You said??”Karis said pretending not to
hear what he told him. “Are you deaf !!,I said pack it all to the boot,now..I mean
now”Simon said as he moved to the
car waiting for Karis put his luggage inside
the back of the car. On their
way back home,the way Simon was talking
made Karis replied him so rudely ,and Simon keep mute ………Finally
they were at home…………….. “Oh my son-in-
law,how are you”The chief greeted Simon,
who greeted his father’s friend back like
an old time friend. On seeing Simon
downstairs,Simon knew that trouble has arrived because she could remember some
years back,at their childhood time,when
Simon and his father came to pay them
a christmas visit,she could remember that
day that Simon wanted to rape her in her
bedroom when she was dressing up (but thank *GOD* he did not see her unclothedness)
because she attack him with a broken vase
at the edge of the bed,but she dare
not tell her father (Chief) because he will not
answer her and take her as a big liar! the
very,she can still see the scar on his head from afar….Now what is he up to
this time around .“Favour!!!”her father

downstairs.
“Yes daddy,I’m coming,she said trying to
gether up herself .“Woo,(faces Karis),Karis abi, what's your name,,pack all those things
(pointing to his luggages) inside”Simon said
in a rude manner .“Excuse me?”Karis
replied pretending not to hear what he said
.“Boy,you heard him right”the chief
snapped at him .“Okay Sir”Karis replied. “My inlaw,this your driver of a thing is so
rude like shit!!,he has been disobeying me
since my arrival at the airport”Simon said
”. *Mtcshwww,that's how he does.”The
chief
replied ****Na *GOD* save you oo if Chief no talk
,na that compound your luggage for
dey****Karis said within himself. As Karis
was packing
the luggages upstairs,he met Favour at the
stair case,She looked at him, looked her back in
return and he Sighed “Karis!I’m
sorry,Icouldn’t help the situation”Favour
said
trying to hold Karis' hand .“Hmmm,I
understand,hurry,go and meet your husband outside there,they are waiting for
you”Karis said as his eyes went red and he
wanted to shed tears. “Favour, your
husband is back from the state”.The
chief introduced him to Favour. “Whatsup
babe,come and give dad a hug”Simon said *****who is your dad,lol..rude Simon
*****Favour thought as she reluctantly gave
him a hug. “”Ehn ehn that's good
dear”Simon said after hugging her and they
both went inside to eat together .“ Favour,
when I was in the state..” .“Shut up man,you don’t talk while eating,finish your
food,first”Favour snaps at him .“Oh I'm
sorry”, “Favour,you don’t talk to your
fiancee like that , don’t you know that he
will be your husband sooner or
later”her father jokingly corrected her. *****Fiancee indeed****She thought While
eating,chief noticed that Karis was not
with them on the table ,so he asked,
“Favour,where is Karis,won’t he come
and eat?”Chief asked. “Oga,I don go call
am,him tell me say, him no go chop, say him belle don full”The gateman cuts in….
“Okay no
problem,when him belle don low,him go
come
chop”Chief jokingly said and all of them
laughed except Favour. After taking their dinner at night,the chief faces Simon .“

and suddenly Karis’ phone rang… He
looked at the name on the phone and he was shocked to see who it was “Chief!!,it’s
chief calling”He fearfully said as he stood up
from the bed *****He picks it up*****
Karis:-Hello sir Chief:-where have you put
your phone since ***the chief who has been
calling him angrily asked*** Karis:- ehm ehm I…I’m soorry sir..He stammerred
Chief:-Get dress up fast,come with
your files down to my office Karis:-Ok sir,I
will be with you in a jiffy
***He hangs up** Swiftly,he reached for his
shirt and trousers on the wall .“Where are you going?”Favour sadly asked,having the
feeling that if he
leave her will killed her emotions suddenly
******Karis gave out no reply***********
“Karis,answer me now”Favour yelled on
noticing that Karis wasn’t answering her either .“Your dad just call me to bring my
document to his office and you know what
that means.”Karis said as he continue to
dress up,as he was about stepping out of his
room,Favour run to
block his way .“Favour,not this time again”he snaps, She wants to shout back at
him but her voice went low on talking.
“Karis,I must confess,you are killing me
slowly by neglecting my feelings,and…..
**She was about coming closer to Karis to
hug him,but Karis quickly stopped her . “Favour,we’re not
supposed t be doing this”Karis said as he
was walking out of the room. on seeing
his rejection,Favour called him back
.“Karis”She called, She looked at him,Karis
looked her back and their eyes met . “I love you”she said
with a drop of tears in her eyes,Karis could
not say a word but nodded in affirmation
and walked out. After couple of hours,he
arrived at the Chief’s office ."Good day
Sir”He greeted in a cultured manner. “How are you
man,you came late”The chief queried.
“I’m sorry sir,it was due to traffic
jam”He lied. “No problem,drop your files
there”the chief said as he was pointing to
his table. “Okay Sir thank you sir”he said as he was planning to take his leave.
“Karis!!!!”the chief called him back
.“Sir”he replied as he turned to face the
chief. “When you get home,remember to
wash the black Range rover and that
reminds me.. by this time tommorow, you are going to the airport to bring my son-in-
law,Simon”the chief ordered as he was
sitting on the rolling chair in his office
.“Excuse me Sir?” he wanted to say
something .“Karis,you heard me loud and
clear. “Okay Sir”he said as he headed for the exit On his way home,Karis begin
to think ****Is it not the guy
that Favour claimed is rude that I wanna go
to the airport and wait for his arrival,but
favour loves me with her life and I love her
too,but…,Chief…her dad***different thing ran over his mind , When he got home,he thought
of going to his room
but the devil in a man whispered to him,
“Go
and check Favour upstairs” and he did not
hesitate at all On getting upstairs at Favour’s room,he knocked but the way he
saw Favour threw his mind up in the air, She
was coming from the bathroom and was on a
white towel gently tied round her body
***Daammnnnn,my goodness Favour is
damn beautiful,**He thought on seeing her from
her toes,to her laps,to her novel and her
toppy
cleavage,immediately he moved closer
thinking he should move up to her and grab

at the door entrance. “So what else?”Favour asked as she gave Karis a

noticing that for some seconds,they kept
looking at each others face not knowing
what to say, Favour walk toward Karis with
the towels on her, she was trying to loose the towel on her
, she was about coming close to Karis.On
seeing that Karis quickly gave an excuse
.‘That’s what I came to tell you”he said
as and rushed downstairs .***Hmmm,upon
seeing me like this,he still control himself,what manner of man is
this***Favour thought as she entered the
bathroom. Days after days,weeks after
weeks,Karis is begining to feel like telling
Favour how he felt about her but *no* he
dare not ********A week Later*********** “Karis!!”Chief called but get no answer
“Karis”he called again .“Sir”he
answered as he rushed to meet chief at the
garage in the compound .* (Am counting the
numbers of times I
call ed you)”the chief said,been a little bit angry .“sorry sir”He reluctantly said
.“Ok,now go get dress up,you are going to
the
airport now to take my son-in-law down
here”the chief said as he was manipulating
his tab. “Ok sir,I will go and take him right away”he replied .As he was about going to
the car,his eyes got caught with Favour….The
imagination of Simon flowed into her head
and from where she stood,she began
to weep, Karis looked at her thinking all the

He was suprised to see what she(Favour)
sent to him.. “Hello,Karis,how was your night,missing you here****kisses**”
****Ahah *hmmm*,why is she sending
this to me***Karis thought as he yawned and
stretch his body on the bed. Suddenly he
heard his name being called outside.
“Karis!!,Karis!!”The gatekeeper shouted from the other end of the big compoud “Oh
my goodness,this man and his *early mo
mo* shouting like this”Karis mummured as
he stood up dazzling from what one can tell
that he is not fully awake .“Ehn ehn sir am
here “He said after half-opening the door to see the gatekeeper. “See you,by
6:45am you
never wake up, *lazy boy*”the gatekeeper
said
mockingly. “Ohhh sir what do
you want to tell me this early morning because I’m too weak for your early
morning call ”.Karis replied leaning his head
at the
door post .” *Mumu o*,oga say make I tell
you say make you wash him car this
morning because him one go out”the gatekeeper
explained as he spit out the remnant of his
chewing stick. On hearing the word *Oga*,
Karis eyes suddenly opened “Sir you
mean Oga”He inquired .” “No, na
*Omo’she*, foolish question”The gatekeeper
snapped as he turns back to his
duty post Within a twinkle of an eye,Karis
has widened his face,rushed out to wash the
jeep
and was waiting by the car for Chief. “Good Morning Sir”he postrated on seeing chief
coming with the brief case in Favour’s
hand.
“Morning man” The chief replied as he
was entering the jeep. “Are we set sir?”
He asked on collecting the brief case from Favour. “Yea,We are, so let's go”
chief
replied .As Karis was about entering the
jeep,Favour made sure that her father is
sitted in the car,suddenly she ran up to Karis
and gave him a kiss at the back of the car. “Oh whaaa,…..”Karis stammered.
“Shhhh,get into the car man,my dad get
angry easily”Favour interrupted

****** After about 2 hours,he came back
from where he drove chief to,he went to park the
jeep in the garage and he headed straight to
his room to pay back nature the sleep he was
owing . Suddenly,he heard a knock on his
door “Yea,who is that?”he asked thinking
that it is the gatekeeper. “It's me,Baba”she (Favour) tried to change her
voice
in order to enter. “Okay enter Sir”He said.
***Favour laughs as she enters knowing that
Karis is suprised*** “Favour what are you
doing here in my room?”Karis shouted as he
stood up to lead her out .“Hmm,your room
looks very nice and neat”Favour said as
she
was looking all over the arrangement
pretending not to hear what Karis said. “Is that what I’m asking you,I said what are
you doing here,shey be you wana kill me ni?
Karis asked fidgetting. “Can’t I move to
anywhere I like in my father’s
house!”she exclaimed as she jumped on the
bed .“Hmmm ,but your father can kill me if he sees you here”Karis said trying to
defend himself. “Forget about that ,were
you not the one that drove him out”Favour
said as she jumped on Karis’s bed. “I
am,and that aside,why did you do what you
did at the back of the car in the morning when I’m going out with your dad”Karis
questioned. “What is that,oya tell
me”Favour said pretending not to know
what Karis was talking about .“The
ki…”Karis tried to talk .“Oh shut up and sit
down,and let's talk”Favour said signalling him to sit. “Okay why did you
come here?”Karis asked calmly this time as
he sit opppsite to her .“Ehmm,I’m not
happy at all”Favour eyes changed .“Dear,
why not tell me”Karis got concerned as he
adjust closer to her holding her face. “My dad said Simon is going to come back
from
America , next week and I’m not happy
”Favour started to sob. “You mean
the guy you told me about ?”Karis asked
.“Yea,he is the one”Favour started crying .“Ohh!!!
sorry,but why can’t you tell your dad that
you don’t love Simon and tell him the guy
you love”Karis said as he tried using his
left hand to wipe the tears away from her
eyes .“That's the problem,I have a guy I love,I feel happy whenever I
see
him,I always love to see him around
me”Favour continued and this time touching
Karis’ jaw. “Initially,I’m liking
him,gradually,I think I’m falling for him,and
now I really do love him”. “Then who is
he?”Karis asked suprisingly .On hearing
this,Favour looked into Karis’ eyes,she
began to move her lips to his, Karis sensed
what is about to happen but before he could talk,Favour looked him,he looked in
return,eyes puckered in attention,Favour
moved closer to Karis and planted a deep
kiss on his lips .“Mmmmhhh”Karis opened
his eyes in suprise as he suddenly felt the
warmth from her lips, but could not resist Favour. Little by little, Favour continued

“Really, Karis is that true?”The chief
asked in suprised. “Yes sir”He replied
trying to dodge his eyes .“And you didn't tell me , all this while,and there is a vacancy
in one of my company”the chief said.
“I’m sorry sir”. “Okay later
tonight,bring your credentials to me
upstairs,”chief said as he went inside.
“Thank you very much sir”Karis said happily. As soon as the chief went in,Karis
hugged Favour happily. “Oh!!!sorry I
don’t
mean it that way”he quickly apologize
joking.“Don’t worry,I understand”Karis
said ****he look handsome when he smiles,I’m always
happy when he is happy,I don’t know
why****Favour thought .“I think I’m
falling for him” she said as she watches
Karis as he carries chief’s bag to his room
jubilating along the way *************************************

hearing the rattle from the opening of the
gate,he tried to compose himself very well after seeing the KHAKI worn by the old
gatekeeper,
which one can tell that he is an old-
soldier "Ehn ehn,wetin you want?"the
gatekeeper asked him to verify if he wasn't
a spy "Good Morning Baba,i am Karis,and I have an appointment with Chief today Sir"He
explained fully "Are you sure?"The baba
asked him again and he was
frightening his face at Karis just to be sure if
he's real "Yes sir" He replied ''See Oh boy,if i
enter and ask Chief and he tell me say he no expect anybody,consider yourself as meat
for the Dogs in this compound"The Baba said

Karis left the chief's mansion happily because

himself knew that he no even get Torch light

heading home,at around 8:30pm he knocked
and his friend Ehis opened the door for him

as he jumped on the neatly prepared bed by

asked anticipatedly "Ahah my friend i thank
you very much"Karis said as he lay helplessly like 2018 christmas chicken "Talk

just accepted you since yesterday and since you no tell me the reason why you come
Benin just for no reason"Ehis asked him
after making attempt to step out with him
."Ehis you should know what I'm facing
now,you know that I'm jobless and will I
continue to stay with my mum and dad at home there without even working"Karis
replied anxiously ."Well you dey kampe,buh
sey you fit to do the kind of job I dey do
here?"Ehis asked "Yea,I can do it also learn how to sew ,You just have to put me through in certain areas"Karis said *Ahhaa see life,see my friend,A whole graduate begging me an

Gone are the days when graduates in
Bayelsa,before finishing their educational
career,would have secure a stand-by job waiting for them. But nowadays,things have
changed,should we say it is caused as a
result of breakdown in the economical sector
or the rate at which the number of students
are graduating each year....This also affect a
young graduate called........ *Karis*,a handsome and good-looking guy who is
averagely-tall and at his *late 20s* in age,he
emerges from a family of 5,his Dad,mum,
himself and his two sisters. He has also
graduated for the past two years as a
English and Literature student from the University of NDU
and his way of living has been
nothing but *a hand to mouth* lifestyle
"Maybe i will go to Benin to meet my friend
*Ehis* who is a fashion designer (although I
know a little about him) and from there I can
raise up a little fund to be on my own"Karis
thought about this one day after working as
a *Load-Carrier* at a popular waterside
locally known as FMC waterside

day he sat down his parent to have a
discussion with them. "Mama,Papa,seems

I was still contemplating on what to do before the man that owns the credit card walked out of the bank briskly,looking worried and confuse.I stalked him and gave him the credit card."Thank you"he said and asked,"where did you see it.I narrated how his credit card fell out of his pocket and he thanked me the more."What's your name?"he asked ."My name is Karis"I replied."My name is Richard.I am the manager of Richard's motors.I will be glad if you will work for me as my financial secretary"he said with a look on his face that is like ,I don't want this guy to reject my proposal."I can't work as your secretary"I said sadly as he look at me."Is people like you this country need .If I may ask,why did you reject my proposal?" he asked anxiously."I am not a graduate .I don't have experience to work under you"I cried out and he felt pity for me."Would you mind if I train you in college?"he asked."Yes.I don't want to attend college .I only need a job for now that can help me to take care of my mum and younger sister"I said .He brought out is wallet and gave me #5000 before he entered his toyota hilux and zoom off.
Am I dreaming or not.He just gave me Money that I would have take one month to work for, If I was to accept the restaurant job.I went back to the restaurant with an happy face and I sat down on an empty sit .The black girl that I approach earlier walked up to me."Did my madam gave you a job?"she asked passionately."Lol"I laughed seeing the seriousness on her face."I am no longer in need of a job,just give me a plate of rice and stew"I requested with a smile on my face ."Have you gotten a job"she asked anxiously as she hold her waist ."No ,I just don't need a job anymore.Please stop asking me question and give me what I requested "I said slowly.She went into the kitchen and came back with a plate of rice and stew."How much is my fee?"I asked with a smile ."#300"she said rolling her eye.I gave her #1000 note and told her to keep the change for her self.She thanked me and dance as she go to serve other customers .I ate the food like an hungry lion that has not eaten for days.I headed home after I left the restaurant ."Good evening "I greeted my mum who was sitting down on the only plastic chair that we have in our home."Mum is everything alright"I asked curiously ."I don't think everything is alright,'cause I am tired of seeing you and Ebiere drinking garri "she said sadly as tears dropped out of her eyes freely."Lol"I laughed and my mum was like,"why are you laughing or have you seen a job?"she asked anxiously as she wipe her tears with the back of her elbow.I gave my mum #3000 and told her everything about the money.

I was so excited to be in Bina's High School .The school gate was made of steel with a gold pain on it and the fench was surrounded by rose flower.All the building in the school compound was painted with red and yellow colour.The school was just like another planet to me,seeing different boys and girls heading to their class in their numbers.I stalked a boy and asked him to tell me where I can see the principal's office."The principal's office is at the back of the library opposite the cafeteria "he said and I thanked him.I went to the back of the library and I saw the principal's office .I knocked and a voice from inside ordered me to come inside."Good day sir"I greeted him."How may I help you?"he questioned.My name is Ebiere ,I am the daughter of Mrs.Gabriel .I'm here to find out my class from you"I said ."Don't worry ,I'll call someone to come and take you to your class"he said and called a teacher with his phone.Few munites later a boy whom I found out to be my class captain came and took me to my class ."This is Ebiere ,she is our new class mate"he introduce me to the class."Welcome to senior secondary school 3 (sss3 ) "the whole class roared in unison."Go and sit down their" my class captain pointed to a sit that was occupied by a girl.She was dark in complexion ,short and she was a good talker."My name is Juliet,I'm happy you are sitting down with me"she giggled .To be continue

Living in a roomlet with my mum and younger sister was so annoying.Anytime my mum or younger sister want to change their outfit ,I'll leave the house for them and whenever I want to change mine,they will do the same .I am tired of living in this kind of condition.Maybe I'm not man enough to be the head of my family.If not of the way my mum do struggle to provide for us,I don't think my sister and I will be able to eat twice a day.I was still in my habit of mind before my mum tapped me on the shoulder."Is high time you looked for a job.Ebiere will begin high school tomorrow and she will be counting on us to support her financially "my mum said."Don't worry mum.I will go out tomorrow to search for a job.I may not go to college ,but I must make sure Ebiere finish high school and also go to college "I said.I was still mouthing with my mum before Ebiere cut in."Mum,I'm hungry .When will you prepare something for dinner?"she asked faintly ."No money to prepare food for dinner.It was all my savings that I used to registered you in Bina's High School "my mum said as Ebiere look at her in awe.You would have let me know before you registered me,'cause you know fully that I would have object to it.Why didn't you use the money for something else.I don't think I can go to school happily while you are labouring for my academic needs"Ebiere lamented bitterly. Seeing the way tears dropped out of Ebiere's eyes ,makes me feel like to cry.I can't help than to console her."Stop crying.I'll do anything that I can to support you"I said ."How will that be possible when you can't even help your self"Ebiere giggled as she look at me.I was touched by her words,though she was right for what she said."I'll go out tomorrow to look for a job"I said sadly. We have nothing to eat for dinner than to drink garri with salt before we retire for the day.
It looks like today is going to be a good day ,hearing the humming voice of birds that sounded melodious.I drank the cup of garri that was left in the house with Ebiere and my mum.Ebiere went to school while I went out to look for a job. Most of the jobs I saw were meant for graduate and not undergraduate like me.I went into a restaurant ,feeling tired and hungry.I walked up to a black girl that wore black and blue outfit with an apron tied around her waist.She was lanky like broom stick and she looks like a girl that is in her early twenties.She was holding a tray of food."Excuse me"I manage to say after struggling with my lip ."I'm coming ,let me give this food to the guy that order for it"she said.She left me and came back to me with an empty tray."How may I help you?"she asked nicely."I am looking for a job.I don't know if there will be vacancy for me "I said while paying her attention to her beautiful face."I can't tell for that,maybe you should ask my madam"she said with a wink ."Where is your madam?" I asked curiously.She took me to her madam and left to resume her duty."Good day madam"I greeted."Did my steward offend you"she asked curiously."No madam ,I came here to look for job"I said."There's no vacancy again ,except you will be washing dishes for me"she letted out a smile ."How much will be my wages"I asked with interest.I don't like to wash dishes ,I might accept the job if the wages is big."Your wages will be #5000"she said with a smile .I pretend like I didn't hear her and asked her again."I said #5000.You can leave if you don't like the amount"she said rolling her eye ."Thank you madam"I said and left the restaurant.I was extremely tired and hungry.I decided to sit on a stone and watched the moving vehicles on the road.A black Toyota hilux packed at my front and a light skin man with a grey hair that wore black suit alighted from the hilux . It seems that he want to withdraw money,'cause I was sitting outside a bank .His credit card fell out of his pocket while he was bringing out a white handkerchief from his pocket to clean the sweat that was on his face.I picked the credit card . "Go and withdraw all his money that is in his account.This is your only opportunity to be rich"Negative thought started flowing in my head."How will I withdraw his money when I don't even know his password?"I asked myself."Use the last four digit that is at the back of the credit card "I heard a voice but I didn't see anyone speaking.To be continue
