Hi house,

I have a 2.2 in Accounting, Masters in HR from a UK uni and over 5 years working experience in HR. I want to apply for an MBA and I understand most or if not all Canadian schools accept a minimum of 2.1. Please, does anyone know of any school in Canada that is likely to overlook my 2.2 degree? If none, I will appreciate advice on how to go about my application for an MBA in Canada. Thanks in advance.

Bia, girlloom everybody has been on this your issue since yesterday a part of me says I should advice you not to post an update on this platform anymore. You never can tell who is reading this thread and your descriptions are too vivid it's very easy to guess who you are. I think people have given you enough sincere and matured advice it's now left for you to do the needful. Somebody can know somebody that knows somebody that knows your SIL. Pls don't compound your problems you have enough to deal with already and besides its you marriage we are talking about here. Abeg e don do oooo.Come back home and warm yourself back into your DH heart.
Thanks for your advice and thanks to all who had something to say, I won't be able to reply all your messages. I have decided to make peace with my SIL and leave my husband to handle issues. For peace, I will play the fool.

@girloom the moment I read that you exchanged words with your MIL, a chunk of the sympathy I had left. Yoruba people say, ile oko, ile eko ni (your matrimonial home is where you learn good behaviour).. I might sound terrible to you right now, but imagine your younger brothers wife exchanging words with your mother under your roof.. Would you hug her and take her to dinner afterwards? As a woman, you have to learn patience. Not every war is won by confrontations. Some are won by silence. Yes, it hurts, but knowing when to speak at times saves nine. I am sure you know your husband and from the little I have read, his family is important to him than his wife. The moment a man threatens you with divorce, you need to start evaluating your worth to that man and most importantly, what values the man attach to his home. At that point, you should have learnt how to thread carefully. Your SIL might have attitude and as such it might be killing you.. You could have easily evaluated your position and know how to chose your battles wisely. Silence is golden especially for a woman.

I think now, you should let your family know what you are going through, if they can raise cash for you, great! Pack your bags and leave that house. If your husband calls to divorce you because you sort for your own sanity, give him a clap on the phone and let him do as he pleases. To me, all is not fair with such threats in a marriage.
2) before you leave, apologise to your SIL for the disagreement (makes you look like a fool and cheated yea?, it's a game plan) thank her for the hospitality and bounce. Don't look back
3) head to social security office to log your complains and either ask for another card or a Pin for the one you have
4) inform your husband about the change in the number or that you have obtained a Pin for it. I am sure he will mention it to his sister. If they go ahead to use it and end up in jail, that's their cup of tea
5) Pray! That's the greatest weapon a woman has.

I wish you the best of luck
I totally agree with you, I am not proud of what I did and I knelt down afterwards to beg my MIL, not once. I was going through a lot and snapped. There is really no excuse for bad behavior. As for the SIL, her behavior towards me started way back before the issue with her mom.

Wait o Girloom you have been there since November 3 and today is March 21 that's 4 month already.

Hmm. Too long to be a guest in anyone's house. See finish has also entered the matter
I know right, all thanks to my husband who kept pushing that I stayed back till our son clocks 3 months. Also the sis inlaw wanted me around for nanny services. I wanted to leave in January to some other place when his mom came over, my husband called my parents that I wanted to put the newborn at risk. He said if I took his child outside his sis home that I should as well end the marriage. His mom frustrated me real good. One particular day in Feb, the mom told her daughter that my son could have been handsome if not for the nose I gave him, I couldn't take it and let out all she had been doing to me, unpleasant words were exchanged, she said yes because I want to separate her from her son and destroy her family. The sister was extremely happy to call my husband to let him know I exchanged words with his mother and my once peaceful and happy marriage turned into something else since then.

See? See why I said you should report to the authorities? Gosh, they didn't even seem apologetic one bit! See reasons? Nigerians I hail thee!! They held on to it cos it was delicate? And as you be 11 year old Pikin who cannot keep things safe, not to talk of her son's personal property. shocked shocked they were not even repentant! Just look at the arrogance and flagrant disrespect of privacy, telling you they opened it cos they can. Nawa! Even ordering you to leave their house? What do you intend to do now?

Justwise, Oya come and see o. what have you to say to these people's behavior now?

People coming here to give birth, please and please, if you can afford it, get an apartment. A lot of people will host you in their house and turn themselves into demigods. Want you to be docile and never question their ways even if it's wrong. They'll tell you they're feeding you and putting a roof over your head, so you should be grateful. Save yourself stories that touch like these and don't let anybody disrespect you, all because you're living off them. I'm sure all of you are queens of your households back in Naija, nobody should dire spect you or turn you into a semi-maid in America. Stories like these are abound on this thread, it's sad and painful. Smh.
My dear, coming here was a massive mistake. I am 30 and this lady is 34, I knew I had entered one chance when she told me to attach Aunty to her name and uncle to her husband. Few weeks after I arrived here, I had a chat with my husband on bbm that I was being treated like a maid, this lady went through my phone while I was sleeping, read the chat and got upset. My husband made me apologize to her for invading my own privacy. Despite the fact my pregnancy was high risk, this lady turned me into a semi maid. Things I haven't done in my own house I have done here. She once instructed me to warm food for her 2 year old, my son started crying and I went to attend to him, she asked about the food and I told her my son was crying, her response was 'so you left my son's food because he was crying, let him cry now' Her son comes back with all sorts of sickness from daycare, she gets upset when I try to protect my child. Now my son is ill, caught a bad cold, thanks to her son sneezing on his face severally. I have had sleepless nights in the past 2 days and will have to take him in tomorrow and pay as we have no insurance. Back to what happened today, she said I was ungrateful because I asked why they opened my son's envelope...imagine? My husband delayed in sending money for his visa and that's the only reason I am still here. Her husband was able to pacify her to let me stay saying what would people say back home. Let me also add that she keeps saying she and her brother were very close before he met me and I want to change him. I plan to change my ticket to the earliest date possible and I am still going to call the IRS. Apologies for my uncoordinated rant, I am upset that I am in this kind of situation. Left my spacious house to come and chop insult in this cabin.

Okay house, after reading all the comments I decided to ask my sister inlaw about the SSN. I went to her that I was worried that his card came without an envelope and got a shocker...she said what do I want to use the envelope for? I said SSN is private information and why was it opened, she said they opened it because they could. I lost it and told her respect was reciprocal and it was wrong. She turned it into fight and asked me to leave her house. The husband came and intervened that they held on to it because it was delicate, dumbest reason ever. Unfortunately, my husband is scared of his sister and not saying much. I am so mad right now, I never wanted to stay with his family but didn't have a better option. Just looking to get his visa and return home asap

happytbaby:
Hmmmm.

@ the lady with the SSN issue

I advise that you thread with caution here. The man is obviously up to something but lets look at other ramifications of reporting as people advised.

Yoruba people have an adage that translates to 'it's the beginning of a fight we know, no one knows how it will end'

Let's paint a scenario; you report and the issue is investigated and traced back to him and he receives a 3month jail term; he becomes an ex-convict, his job opportunities become limited, your sister in law is thrown into turmoil. Even though the man has done a despicable thing, the family will point a finger at you.

I don't really know how this SSN thing works but can we explore the possibility of just having that one cancelled and then you or baby can apply for another one later in future? I know one is entitled to a limited change of SSN though.

You just need to weigh it,is it worth a family feud? Abeg next time you wan born for obodo oyinbo, go rent house.
I totally get what you are saying and that was why I asked if the card can be blocked. To be honest, this man comes across as a very nice person and has been good to my son and I. I was highly disappointed when he gave me the SS card, I am pretty sure he doesn't know that I am informed. I really wish I rented a place cos the sis inlaw is story for another day.

Thanks to @mamaOO and everyone who had something encouraging to say about my ish with my host and son's SSN. I called the IRS no. and was told to call back on Monday, I would update after my call on Monday.

So let me share my birth story.. My edd was 25th of December but there was no sign of labour up to the 29th. I decided to book an appointment for 30th, I went in and was told I have to be induced that day as they were not satisfied with my baby's heart rate ( thank God I had my bags packed). The induction process started at 8pm, labor kicked in at around 10pm and my baby's heart rate was still irregular. I was put under close monitoring and different things were done to ensure his heart rate normalizes but unfortunately it didn't. After all the pain and torture I was scheduled for an emergency c-section at 5.30am on the 31st. I got into the OR at 6am and did not come out till 3pm because I was hemorrhaging, I ended up getting blood transfusion. To cut the long story short my son and I spent 2 weeks in the hospital. Now to my bill, the total came up to 41,000 usd but since I was self pay it was reduced to 15,000. I am just glad that my son and I are alive, coming to the U.S. was definitely God's way of saving us. I don't want to imagine what could have happened to us if we were in Nigeria with the complications that arose. I plan to return at the end of the month with my LO. Btw I used Henry ford hospital in Michigan.

Hello all, please I need help.
Okay, I understand ssn should be delivered to the address provided 2 weeks or so after birth. It happened that I didn't receive my son's as at a month afterwards so I felt it actually got missing and was going to request for another. I also mentioned this to my host and they agreed it was probably missing and I should forget about it as there was no need need for the number. At 7 weeks after, I decided to apply for his passport and there was a part on the application form where they requested for ssn, so I told my host that I would be going to the social security office to request for a new one. He then asked to see where the number was requested on the form so I showed him. Surprisingly, my host told me I shouldn't bother that the ss card would be delivered that day and he was very certain. At 8pm that day, he handed me my son's card lnot looking new with no envelope and his ssn exposed. Why would he open a mail that was clearly addressed to my son? I couldn't even say anything because he is my sis inlaw's husband and don't want to come across as rude. Now I suspect my son's card has been used fraudulently for tax claims. Please is it possible to block the number from being used? May I add that my host is now suddenly over protective of his mailbox. I believe there are letters he is receiving that he doesn't want me to see.

To God be the glory! With faith, I said I was going to come back here and testify. I conceived naturally by Gods grace and had my baby boy on the 31st of December 2015. I am thankful to God Almighty, he alone is worthy of my praise. Despite all the reports from doctors, Gods report was final. God is real, he answers prayers and is still in the business of performing miracles.

All the glory to God! I arrived Detroit yesterday via KLM, flew klm to Amsterdam and delta to Detroit. I flew at 31 weeks and wasn't asked for fitness to fly. After paying 34usd for a preferred seat on the flight to Amsterdam I was so disappointed. The seat beside me was vacant and some annoying guy with a stinking breath who didn't like his original seat was made to sit there and made my trip so uncomfortable with his constant poking, turning and yawning. There were so many vacant seats o, I wonder why he was directed to that one mschewww. Got to Amsterdam around 5.30am and had to wait 4hrs 30mins for the flight to Detroit. Thank God I requested for special assistance, I was driven in that their auto wheel to a service centre where I chilled and was picked up later and dropped at my boarding gate.

Getting to the gate o, i go find trouble. Instead of me to just lay low with my big belle and green passport, I got up to go speak with one of the ladies at the counter ( after all I was honest at my visa interview so why hide), the seat on my boarding pass and seat I reserved did not tally and I wanted to know why. I hadn't finished asking my question when one black guy in suit asked to see my passport. That's how questions you expect at Poe started, he took me aside and asked for my reason for going to the U.S.

Me: childbirth
Guy in suit (GIS): you are quite direct
Me: (b4 Nko)
GIS: let me have your documents (he types on his phone for a while)
Before I knew it, he said you were denied a visa to the UK in 2014
Me: yes I was and I reapplied in 2015 and got it (y do they keep hammering on this denial sef)
GIS: what do you do and what does your hubby do
Me: I sha respond
He asked a lot, went through every single doc and finally let me join the queue to board the plane.

Got to Detroit and was wheeled to immigration, the friendly Cbp asked the normal questions and requested for docs and sent me for secondary inspection. Let me add that Detroit airport was empty so they had a lot of time on their hands. The guy who wheeled me left me, the Cbp was initially acting all tough but he later relaxed and joked with me. Went through my documents, I had just 3kusd cash on me ( he didn't ask to see it). Had bank statement of 4m Naira which he asked to see. He concluded that I made sure all my bills were paid and receipts collected. Let me add he also talked about the UK visa that was denied ( how long will dt singular denial hunt me?) I was stamped till may 2016. Someone finally came to wheel me out after spending 15mins listening to other people's interview. Went to Agric and tuber of yam was seized. Finally with my wonderful sister inlaw and family. Baby is due Xmas day and I will be using henry-ford. May God grant us all safe delivery and all the best to the other moms who are just starting this mission.

Hello people, I was just able to save more than 100k on my KLM return ticket to Detroit. So here is what I did, I searched using cheapflights.com.ng, saw different deals but the best for me was a ticket for 289k and I selected. I was then redirected to mytrip.com for payments, opted for a premium charge of about 7. 99 euros to enable me make changes if the need arises and an additional 21 euros was charged as service fee.

In total I paid 296k on mytrip.com for an exact ticket that was 2274usd (452k) on the klm site.

Let me add that I did my research on the site before paying cos it looked too good to be legit. I got my booking reference immediately after payment went through. Sharperly, I went to the klm site to test the reference to be sure it wasn't a hoax and it wasn't! As I type, I haff reserved my comfy seats for all the trips and made my special requests. So for those looking for cheap deals and are willing to take the risk, you have your guinea pig.
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 3 by girlloom(f):
Hello all, I have been following this page quietly for a few months now and will love to share my experience. The first time I applied for a U.S. Visa was in 2012 and I was denied. I had just got back from my Msc program in the UK and resumed the work I left in Nigeria. I re-applied immediately and was denied again despite my travel history and work history, I concluded it was because I was single and gave it a rest. Fast forward 2015, I got married in March and by April we were expecting. Hubby and I decided to apply for a visa together with the hope I would get it since I was now married. We had our interview slated for August. I was already 19 weeks, I tried my best to conceal the pregnancy adding a pair of heels to my dressing ( I almost fainted that day, pair of Jean was tight). Below is a summary of what transpired between us and the vo

Hubby and I hand our passports and confirmation pages to the VO
VO: where will you be traveling to? Also where will you be staying?
Hubby: Michigan and we will be staying with my sis and hubby
VO: to do what?
Hubby: vacation with my wife
VO: have you travelled together, we answered yes and mentioned the country
VO: do you plan to have a baby in the U.S.?
Hubby and I: not at all
VO: you will be turned back if we find out that you lied
Hubby and I : okay ( with fake smiles)
VO: where do you work and what do you do there?
Myself and Hubby: we took turns and responded
VO: (question directed at me now) I can see you were denied a UK visa in 2014
Me: yes I was
VO: (now looking surprised) you work for xxxx and you were denied a UK visa?
Me: yes I was because I failed to submit complete documents
VO: ( still not convinced) you could have have reapplied and why didn't you?
Me: I didn't feel like it again (honestly, I didn't see the need to reapply then because I couldn't postpone my travel date)
VO: (still not convinced) how long have you worked for them? You have a right to reapply
Me: X years, yea I know I have the right but I was too disappointed to reapply ( I was already tired of the VO sef... Lol)
VO: Okay, I will be making two decisions, hubby's visa was approved and mine was denied.

I was so sad ehn, that would be my 3rd denial. Hubby wished he was the one that was denied, I told him I wasn't going to try again that it wasn't compulsory to give birth in Yankee. My mother inlaw and sis inlaw called later to plead with me to reapply. I finally agreed and told them I wasn't going to hide the pregnancy. The first step I took was to reapply for a UK visa, I then reapplied for the Yankee and selected 19th October for interview appointment (selected this date to give enough time to reapply for the UK visa and also apply for a Canadian visa because I felt the U.S. Was just a waste of time). I finally got the UK visa in sept and we submitted our online application for Canada and had our biometrics done on 29th sept. All I had in mind was that we will get the Canadian visa and our baby will be born there later in the year.... the wait began and we were optimistic. Fast forward to 12th October, hubby is talking about preparing for Yankee visa, he is putting so much energy into getting correspondence from a hospital in Michigan, calling friends whose wives have been issued visas while pregnant, talking about our statement of account and how I should get ready for the interview. I started wondering why he had suddenly given up on canada and asked and he said he didn't want all our eggs bla bla. By 16th October, hubby handed over to me a printed out correspondence from a hospital in Michigan and his statement of account, to help with his effort, I told him about a budget sheet(got that here) and he prepared one. With all these, my mind was still on Canada because 2 of my siblings are there and my folks will be there later in the year. About 7pm on Sunday, I was checking hubby's phone for God knows what when I stumbled on a message from the agent that was handling our Canadian visa, the message was dated 9th October and the content was basically telling my hubby that we were both denied and he has forwarded him a mail with the reason...I was weak... I confronted hubby for hiding it from me and he explained he didn't want me worried and all. Long and short was I didn't sleep till my interview which was slated for 8am today. We held hands and prayed last night, this was the last option. So today, I got up ( exhausted from not sleeping) got ready and took my burden of proof. Hubby decided to drive me for the appointment and offer moral support. I went in with my big belly and the below transpired with VO ( she was a lady and I was scared cos I heard they aren't so nice to preggos)

Handed my docs
VO: where will you be traveling to?
Me: Michigan
VO: what's your purpose
Me: love to birth my first child and take my maternity leave
VO: have you contacted a hospital there?
Me: yes, handed over correspondence
VO: who is sponsoring and what does he do?
Me: hubby and he does bla bla
Me: I jumped in and said) we were here together in August, he was granted but I was denied
VO: why were you denied?
Me: talked about the UK visa ish and how I reapplied and got it this time around.
VO: (typing with a straight face)
Me: (trying to push hubby's statement of account and budget sheet)
VO: ( takes my passport aside and handed over a white sheet) visa approved, pick up.....
Me:oh my God! Thank u! thank u! Thank u!
VO: (looking at me with a straight face)

In all, I am happy I did not get the visa the first time with my hubby cos I denied being pregnant and who knows I would have found it tough at Poe. To all those hoping, do not lose faith in God, do your best and trust him.

Biko, ignore my typos, still haven't slept.

I am so happy to come accross a post like this. I was diagnosed with endometriosis in 2010. Prior to diagnosis I used to have unbearable menstrual cramps and nonstop heavy periods and pains during number 2. In 2010 painkillers stopped working, my periods became a nightmare. I am always rushed to the hospital on emergency and injected with pentalucin. Endometriosis affected every area of my life, I was always on sick leave and sex is a nightmare.

I had a sugery to take out cysts in 2012. In 2013, I developed another cyst plus adhesions which blocked my ureters and caused my kidneys to enlarge. I had to travel out to remove the cyst and get stents implanted . I will be on hormones to stop my period till I am ready for children.

I don't have kids yet but I strongly believe in Jesus name that I will have my own kids when the time comes and will come back here to testify.

Endometriosis is real!
