You dont need a passport with 6 months validity for the UK. Your passport only needs to be valid after your trip. Please my parent applied with a passport 4 months validity and 2 of my cousins as well. For their very 1st visas.
The 6 months visa was given which was after their passport validity.
UK does not require 6 months and that is why you can not find this information about 6 months on the UKVI bible site which is www.gov.uk

My child was born in the UK and this is not capping. This is me saying what i know and did to get his brp.
That is what you wanted to do. That is not what the UK visas and immigration office require.
U filled that the child had a passport when you were filling the form. Nobody would deny the child BORN INSIDE THE UNITED KINGDOM a visa with only a birth certificate and ask them to go and get a passport. THIS IS NOT TRUE.
U guys can not equate ignorance to the law.
The law is the law for Jew and Greek.

What lolo said is right. I went through this process last month. This is the new way. I had to take my child for capturing at UKVCAS and a passport was required as part of the process.

I hope your child was born in the UK? If your child was born in the UK, the UK birth certificate is all that would be asked for to secure their very FIRST BRP. Stop capping!!! I am tired of all this misinformation

First BRP/First Child dependent visa for a child born in the UK, all that would be required is a UK BIRTH CERTIFICATE!!!!
Whatever happens for a child in a different circumstance is what does not concern me.
I have kids and all that were born here, nobody asked me for Nigerian passport first before getting visa. Pls. E reach to shout because you people are overdoing it. If you fill ur form and state there that all the child has is a UK birth certificate the form goes through for all children born inside this UNITED KINGDOM.

I think children who were under 6 years of age as at the last time they applied for a visa need to go for biometrics. I'm having same issue, my 8year old was able to use the app while my 6 years old has to go to the center because she wasn't yet 6 the last time she applied and didn't have her fingerprints captured.
Nope. My colleague’s 9 month old twins used the app.. the 5 year old they asked the boy to come for biometrics. .. but the twins used the app
Note the 3 of them had done biometrics in UK before though.. so no one can really understand how the app selects its ‘precious’ candidates

Hi
Land documents and receipt, no certificate of occupancy,
Letter for from my mosque confirming her role and reason for travel.
Letter from Nigeria union of tailor with membership ID card.
Shop rent receipt and agreement documents.
Letter from my siblings and their prof of relationship.
Pictures with siblings and grandchildrens.
Thank you so much @cashmadam,@giselle237.
Is all this documents okay to proof of ties back home.
I’d add pictures of her in this shop or tailor union carrying out her tailoring or market activities. Pictures should be from different dates. Try to take some from outside the complex or store to give a great angle.
I’d add evidence of her children and other grandchildren that would be remaining in Nigeria when she is away eg passports or ID cards or work details or residency details
Pictures and other proofs from this land and if possible herself in them.
Where is her husband by the way?

This shouldn’t be an argument. Have you had kids in the UK and gone through the process yourself or speaking from what you’re seeing on the Gov UK website which the caseworkers sometimes don’t follow verbatim.
Again like I said earlier, it shouldn’t be the case but they sometimes do which I experienced with my kids hence my advise to the OP. You saying it’s not true is an interesting position to take.
Yes I have gone through the process myself for minors including a 1 week old. Thanks.

Pardon my curiosity, but my dear moslem brothers and sisters, what does a man with more than 1 wife do when he wants to migrate?
Does UK law permit polygamy?
Which wife will be the chosen??
the UK immigration would not grant say 3 dependent visas for 3 women. Only one would be allowed as the UK law although recognises ur marriage would not issue visas for a polygamous situation. The others can come on their merit on a work or student visa.

Thanks to everyone who has replied so far, one more question please. I didn't have to visit the UKVI centre for my biometrics when I renewed my visa last year and a couple of people I know as well used same app this year and recently as well.
However, for the kids there was no option of using online biometrics app, is this the norm? Do kids have to travel for visa biometrics within the UK?
Not all the time. Mine used the app this year. The app does a selection criteria so maybe yours have never had an in-country biometric taken… this might automatically put them in to go in for biometrics.

Hello,

I would appreciate some help with my sister’s visa. She just received her third refusal(attached). We are quite confused about what happened with her CAc registration and are checking to see if she was scammed.

I wanted her to attend my baby’s christening which is unlikely to happen. I was going to suggest waiting until next summer the applying again.

Would it be easier if I offer to sponsor her trip 100% while she only declares her employment? I did this for my brother (they were meant to be travelling together) and he was successful.

Please help. I spent a lot of time on her application.

We did a spreadsheet explaining the source of her income with receipt. Her husband also wrote a letter confirming his monthly contribution to her account. I also provided all my details (house documents, payslip, British passport, invitation card and photos) I'm not sure what else can be done.

Would it be easier if I offered to pay for all her expenses? Help
3rd refusal and she can not afford her trip so much so that you now want to sponsor the trip wholly is not a good look. At least her husband if at all, should be able to sponsor the trip if she is not able to. How did she arrive at been a sole owner and not able to prove the financial status of her business and be extension her financial status? I would leave the UK alone for now. The application otherwise begins to scream of desperation.

My comment was based on my previous experience. You don’t put it in the initial application, but there is a chance the case worker working on the kids application will send you an email asking for the passport or evidence you’ve started processing it. I filled the Nigerian passport application form online, booked an appointment and sent them screenshots of both and it was resolved.
not for kids pls. This is clearly stated on the www.gov.uk website. No child born in the UK who is a dependent child would be asked for Nigerian passport inorder to apply for a visa. Adult- maybe. Child = capital NO.
This is not true as they are permitted to apply for leave to REMAIN with the UK birth certificate alone.

Typically no. However you might get asked for this by the case officer in which case providing proof of commencing the passport application process should suffice.
They don’t ask for kids born in the UK. The birth certificate and parents BRP is ALL they need

Hello all,
Please has anyone recently submitted an application for a dependant child under the tier 2 healthcare visa from inside the UK. I need some clarifications.
For the main applicant and partner dependant,it did not request for any evidence to be uploaded but for the child dependant it is asking for some evidences as seen below. I am thinking maybe I did somethings wrong.
it is correct. Upload your bank statement and requested documents if available etc

My boyfriend who has a visitor visa to Uk was denied boarding by Royal air maroc official because his return ticket is from Turkish airline.
As per policies, I want to be believe all airlines are independent and royal air has no business with his return ticket.I am so pained, frustrated and confused.
What can I do?

Sorry. Apologies to him on his experience. I don’t really know what you can do but send an official complaints to the customer care of the airline and escalate it from there.
Did he have a valid Turkish Airlines ticket actually booked and paid for on his travel date? If yes, I would escalate all concerns until everything is refunded. Drag them everywhere draggable on SM if it gets to that.
think they find the airlines when a passenger travels on a one way ticket when it’s a visit visa.
If you are buying tickets from Wakanow, Travel start etc you would notice immediate you book a one way ticket they would call you up to ask you why.
If you go on to say, I have a studnet visa or a work visa, then they would proceed to issue your tickets.

It is because of the huge fines they pay when visitors travel on one way tickets and never return. Ordinarily if the Turkish airlines ticket is also valid I don’t understand why they did this. Royal Maroc is Morroco’s airline and sometimes they can be quiet intense with fellow Africans especially if it’s a Nigerian. Egypt air does the worst out of the bunch.

Quick one please, do you have an idea of the number of days before biometrics that an applicant would no longer be able to upload supporting documents
thanks
u can self upload until the day of the biometrics. However it’s best to conclude this before stepping out for the biometrics incase there are any mistakes you can correct them without going late for your biometrics .
You are also more organised

Good morning everyone, please I need your help on something confusing.
My parents were issued a 6-month visit visa in 2013 and they came to the UK in May 2013 and used just a few days. Now, I want to apply for a visit visa for them as my partner and I are expecting our first child before December. My question is can they apply for a 2 years visit visa because it has been over 10 years since their first visa?
Whats the rest of their travel history like?

Nope. They just quoted the law for you.
It's better both you and your son apply for dependent visa and you go with him You don't have to live in the UK you can take your son their , do your initial new immigrant registration get him settled and come back to your business.
It won't affect your current 5yr visa. Having it is a plus for you.
The visit visa will be cancelled once the dependent visa goes live as can not be visitor and temporary resident at same time but yes with dependent visa can go and come at any time.

Good day guys!
Thank you for all the works you on this thread.
How can i invite my mother to UK as she's unemployed back home, I lost my father years ago, she's doing anything in Nigeria, I'm the taking care of her needs.
How can i invite her and what are the documents she need to provide.
Pls note my wife pregnant and due to deliver in March.
Pls note, I'm a resident in UK, working with NHS and i have all the documents I can used to sponsor her.
Kindly assist.
I'm asking because of the limited ties to my home country.
Think of anything else that could be her tie.
1. Her other children are they in Nigeria? Other grandchildren? If yes add this to the application and provide proofs of their passport or birth certificates or id to show this.
2 . The house she is living in, it would help if it belongs to either her or your dad.. u can provide this. If it is rented, it would also be a little bit helpful if she has lives here for a long time. Some people also provide receipts of rent payments and agreements to cover over the period the applicant would be in the UK
3. Any assets at all? Any cars? Any society she belongs to ? Any trade she is into even informally? Farming,? Fishing ? It’s about showing something so try to think outside the box and see what u can find.
Reason of trip- should be that your mom is your best friend and you miss her. Working with the NHS, due to short staffing sometimes leave requests are not approved in time and u may not get enough time to go visit her but you would really like your mom to visit as tomorrow is not promised bla bla bla

Hope I can write that I have made adequate provision for the child through my younger brother who is already living in UK
What is the documentary proof? Does your brother not have his own life? Have you legally transferred parental responsibility to your brother? There are grey areas and any decision the ECO is taking will be in the best interest of the child and not your interest or your wife’s interest. Wish you the best.

Good day to all and happy weekend.
Please what can I do in this kind of situation.
My wife is the one going to UK as a student and she is going with our son, while I continue to do my business in Nigeria. Attached is the message that was sent to my wife now as regards our son's application. Meanwhile I have 5 years visiting visa. Looking forward to your responses. Thanks.
The email is very explicit.
Not going to work because you have 5 years visit visa.
Both parents have to be going for child to be granted OR provide serious compelling reasons why child should travel without the father seeing that you are not divorced and that mother also does not have sole custody. Mother also can not say you are dead or not in child’s life.
ECO’s argument is that the child can as well stay back with you in Nigeria since you do not plan on travelling and mother is going for studies which is temporary and can come back after her studies. ECO wants child to have love and care of both parents 24/7 in foreign land.
Both of you should be applying or providing strong COMPELLING reasons why you cant go + evidence of school and care arrangements for the child that you have already put in place.

you’ll also need to write a cover letter to explain every grey areas especially about your business.

Good morning to you all.
I intend to apply for a Visit visa to the UK. My sister is a medical doctor in an NHS(her 3rd year in the UK). She is sponsoring me. But I have my own business that I run here in Nigeria with a physical location which is CAC registered since last year march and with an ACTIVE STATUS on their site. In a month, I have at least 2 million naira debit and credit alert for my business transactions though the money I use for my business is way more than that and my profit in a month goes close to 500k and 1 million. I don’t have landed properties but my parents do.
I plan to apply by November ending to spend Christmas with my sister in the Uk.

My question is with my sister’s bank statement in the UK and my own bank statement in Nigeria, would i be qualified to be granted the Visiting visa if I apply?
Ur bank account is not clear. As an adult they are more comfortable when you the visiting adult would be able to pay for your trip.
Your sister’s circumstances as a medical Doctor will not be used to assess your application as it is your circumstance that matter. If you land the UK tomorrow they need to be able to guess that you won’t run away and this does not have anything to do with ur sister as if u abscond they can not hold her.
It looks like your bank account is not straight forward. I dnt advise that but u may be lucky to meet an ECO who does not look at ur account but wud look at ur sister’s own alone as she is d sponsor. The chances of this is very slim.
Even though u will not be sponsoring the trip, I would advise you have an account of someone that can comfortably sponsor your trip as this way the ECO would be more willing to fake chances on u than what u have written above. Few exceptions might be if you are quite young or quite old like the parents who they believe might not necessarily want to run away at that age.
Money moving to and fro the account is NO proof that the account is making profits at a certain level and that you would not recourse to public funds if the need arises.
What’s your age range if I may ask?

Hm.
A DD for an ongoing service like a gym or subscription is very different from a DD attached to a credit agreement.
This one is the latter, and if he stops it, it could reflect as a default on his credit record. He needs to check if the credit agreement is already on his credit record - if it is, then it would not be prudent to stop it on his own.
Hello I have been in same shoes… The cows are here on this same thread.. if I talk more, fight will happen now now because I am not talking about ongoing gym, internet or any subscription. Can you please not assume?

I plan to reapply next year, meanwhile I am receiving my regular monthly salary from my Employer,Which has also been increased.
That's is all am asking.
your monthly salary has been increased to what if I may ask? Since your employer is sponsoring, have you answered the questions why they are not sponsoring you to other countries, what other staff members have they sponsored this way, why they have decided to sponsor you, of what benefit is your attendance to this conference to the company, what this conference would do for you etc.. have these been answered ?
I think the question also is why you need all this extra help if it is for a conference?

1. If I receive a large deposit of Above 1Million from a Social Club which is my savings with them at the end of the year been December 2023 and also receive money for Rent From a Tenant into my Salary Account.
2. Please will this pose any problem or how do I explain it to avoid any issue from the Visa Officers.I intend to apply by February 2024.
However,I am receiving my monthly salary into this same account from my Employer.
Please I need the guidance of the gurus in the house.
Thanks and God Bless.
cashmadam has already told you to defer this application with reasons- You can try to visit other countries as well if it’s holiday you applying for. It doesn’t have to or must be the UK.
Now it is no longer your employer sponsoring, it is now savings and rent.
