Hello house

Please If I want to invite my mother inlaw to the UK.
She's unemployed and I will be the one funding.
What advise will you give on how to fill in the application:
-The amount she's contributing
-The amount she spend on her self in a month
-Why am I paying for her bills
Kindly note: she's coming basically for child care as my wife just put to bed.
Please on the form never write she is basically coming for childcare… you can say this is her 1st or 2nd grandchild and she is coming to see them

PLEASE ANY NEED RENEWING MY DRIVERS LICENCE BEFORE MOVING TO THE UK?

HAVING IT WITH ME OVER THERE WHAT'S THE USE. IS IT RECOGNIZED AS A PROOF OF MY DRIVING SKILL OR I MUST STILL PASS THROUGH UK DRIVING SCHOOL?
with your Nigerian drivers licence you can drive for 1 year from the time you enter the UK. You do not need any international drivers licence, the Nigerian usual one is just fine.

Gurus in the house.

Abeg I'm a PhD student in the UK. I have £2,500 in my account and I want to fully sponsor my dad's visiting visa. Dad is not working and has no money in his bank account. Please, will the ECO agree £2.5k is enough for me to fully sponsor someone? If not, what is the minimum you will advise for me to have in other to sponsor him?
You have bills to pay and if you need to fully sponsor him without ECO worrying that he may fall into public funds then I’d increase it. Aim above 4 to 5k and keep his length of stay on the application form less or equal to 2 weeks.

We are not arguing.
I know is better with court order at least to be on safe hand. Probably the rule is just changed. I know it depend on who's handling the case as some may require the court order as you said.
Ok sir/ma.

It must not be only court documents.
I have a family friend who did theirs. The dependent had her first daughter with ex partner. They weren't married.
The man just write consent letter that she's happy to let her daughter migrate with the mum & step dad.
As far the dependent who's the father or mother of the child can proof with birth certificate, photos of the child from birth, attach monthly payments or tuition fees for the child, school fees receipt, child school results etc they will grant his application.
I am not here to argue with you. The rules do not work that way. You need more than a consent letter and birth certificate to travel with that child.
Poster should feel free to not send a court order in 2024.

Good day house, please help me out on this. Below is my refusal letter. Please I need your advice. I got a refusal letter yesterday. Thanks
Marketing manager earning 900k and with their exchange rate of 482 to 1 pound this is almost same as here earning over £1800 monthly. Good figure but your profile sounds sketchy and picked up by ECO.
Someone in a low income country as yours earning this high figure would also have a lot going on in their life and with property and assets to show and possibly travel history. Looks like your profile is fake or you have provided insufficient evidence and proof to back up the huge financial picture you are trying to portray. Again this looks made up like the last poster.
It is easy to spot this. If you are for real with this kind of finances, then they must be proved on paper and you won’t be refused again.

@nasire your claims look fake and bogus. Looks like you tried to create a picture of a well established person and then also did 5 million naira credits to back up this your story.. very easy to pick that all of these were done to influence the visa decision. Because after crediting yourself 5million, your profit was only 9k naira… hmmm… I am unable to help when everything looks fictitious. Sorry please others would respond soon.

If the mother is in the picture, she can write a letter of consent backed by law that she allows without objection the child to migrate with his father to the UK.
no she cannot. It does not work that way.
If the mother is in the picture then UKVI expects that the child can stay back with the mother.
Only court documents stating that father has sole responsibility and sole custody rights of child is all that will be accepted. Anything short of this and mother is not dead, O.Y.O

Please house, advise me on this. Me and my husband are in UK as skilled worker visa, I am the main applicant, my husband is the dependent. My daughter and my step son are still in Nigeria, So we applied for visa for my daughter and my step son(my husband had a son when he was still much younger).Today, we were sent a mail from UKVI that we should send additional documents below:
1. The parent with permission it’s a skilled worker is the sole surviving parent or
2. The parent with permission as a skilled worker has sole responsibility for the child’s upbringing or
3. The decision maker is satisfied that there are serious and compelling reasons to grant the child entry clearance or permission to stay with the parent who has permission as a skilled worker.
Please what can we do now. The son lives with her mother grandma but my husband takes full responsibility of him. I will appreciate your contribution. Thanks
I am guessing this was sent only for the step son right?
Your husband is a dependent and not the skilled worker and so ordinarily his child is not linked to you the skilled worker. Does your husband have full custody and sole responsibility by way of court documentation stating this with proof of all their financial and domestic payments in the child’s life. Or is the biological mother dead with proof? If he doesn’t have these, forget it.

No. Get an international driver's licence and I also heard that's sometimes they ask for the normal drivers licence instead of international driver's licence.
Maybe you can find someone to bring it down for you when it comes out.
you dont need an international drivers licence. What is asked for is the Nigerian driver’s licence

@vivianchi98 is it too late for you to apply for a student dependent visa? Just checking your options as that makes more sense since your husband.. like a whole husband is in the UK.. visa officer might not be too convinced that you are coming in only as a visitor.

Hello house,
Please I need a clarification. Whats the policy on maternity leave . My fiancé is a registered mental health nurse(NHS) on COS from Nigeria. She’s pregnant and would have to go on leave. She’s just 6 months into the job. Is she entitled to maternity leave 6 months to 1 year(paid) ?
Nothing was mentioned about that in her contract letter.
she should check her Trust’s intranet for the policy for maternity leave and pay. Everything will be there. Just read the fine lines . In the NHS, every employee is entitled to compulsory maternity leave for the first 2 weeks and can stay upto 52 weeks on maternity leave.
The determinant of whether you will be paid or not depends on length of service with your employers . These and more are always written in the maternity policy

@kunleop this is what is called penny wise pound foolish. Is the cost of changing flights equivalent to a terrible border experience for a 1st timer like her who stated 1 month on their visa application and appears at the border stating over 4 months?
Since you feel taking the risk would be fine, I don’t think you need to keep reasking same question in 4 different ways. We wish your mom all the best.

My mum was granted a 6month visit visa and she staying for 4month,
Can i book the flight from february to july for that period of 4month. Kindly note that i stated in the application that she staying for 1month.
Kindly advice if i can go ahead to book the flight for the 4month period or i should book one 1month.
Thank You
Kindly assist with this@cashmadan, giselle430 and Amelia T.
stick to a changeable ticket of less than 2 months. When she gets to your house comfortably, then you can change the ticket.
Ps- she will be asked how long she is staying for first and some officials proceed to ask to see any return tickets. Please no lies at the border. State exactly what’s on the ticket.
And also February to July is 5 months not 4.

Hi everyone. I want to put in application for my mother to visit me in the UK. She is a petty trader with very low income, can I say that I would be sponsoring her visit 100% and not provide her statement of account at all? I am planning to submit my statement of account showing over £10,000.
It is tricky. Sometimes they overlook this and grant the visa and other times it is the refusal reason 1 when they want to refuse that you have not shown the applicant’s living situation in Nigeria.
Yes you can fully sponsor her 100%

Hello, Good Morning
Please I have a question:
If I apply for a 10year UK Visit Visa and my passport validity has 9yr left, please how many years will I be granted? Will they grant me till the expiration of my passport same way Canada does or what?
Thanks... From experience please!
they will grant you the 10 years even if it was a 2 year passport left. Once you qualify for the visa you will be given. You will simply get a new passport to travel alongside the old one where your visa is.
