How does that work? Never heard of it

Example if you want to change to naira, you’ll credit them your pounds so they give you naira. If you send them your GBP and say you have a change of mind, you won’t get your pounds without breaking a sweat. Like actual sweat. They are disastrous and disgusting. Whereas with Lemonade you get your money immediately.

Morning.
Living in UK people… whatever you do, stay away from keeping your GBP in Nala’s wallet. You won’t get that money back without losing your blood literally.
Be aware.

Please what to know what I can do differently if I choose to reapply. I applied for a visitor’s visa for six months to the UK.
Of which my husband was going to fully sponsor as we stated that our reason for my application is to spend our honeymoon in the UK since we haven’t had time due to work. My husband already has a visa.
Which other documents can we attach because we want to reapply this is an attachment of the officer’s response for refusal
Very low salary
Then you hid your own bank statement and did not give them a picture of your OWN financial circumstances.
Also people that are married truly would be able to provide other proofs apart from marriage certificate

Sometime last year I applied for a visiting visa for my junior brother to come celebrate my graduation with me in the Uk which was later prosponed . Unfortunately his visa application was refused base on the following

I have refused your application for a visit visa because I am not satisfied that you meet the requirements of paragraph(s) V4.2 of Appendix V: Immigration Rules for Visitors because:
• You state that you are visiting the UK for 9 days to attend your brothers’ graduation ceremony.
• You state your UK sponsor will contribute an additional £3,000.00 towards the cost of your trip to the UK. I note the in to your
and to or not you I must be of your own asin your and
• You state that you are self-employed with a yearly income of NGN). You state you intend to spend £208.77 (200,000.00 NGN) during your visit to the UK. I am not satisfied you would be willing to spend such a disproportionate amount of your annual income on such a short visit to the UK. This damages the credibility of your application. I am not satisfied your intentions to enter the UK are genuine.
• You also state in your visa application that you have savings of £450.00 (431,080.00 NGN). The information you have provided does not demonstrate the source of these funds and I am not satisfied that they are available to you.

He reapplied this year and his application has been refused again .
Forget about reapplying. His income is too low. If for any reason you can’t support him financially as you stated when he gets to the Uk, then he will recourse to public funds. He has no money of his own. Savings of 450k is all he has with a very paltry sum self employment wage. Graduation is not a do or die affair that he must attend. He can watch over zoom or ms teams and this ECO is not willing to take chances on such an individual as high chances of claiming asylum when he gets here.

Many thanks Lolo. i had to pay for the visa fees because of the naira to GBP exchange rates.
I am still open to further counsel.
Call up airlines. Book the unaccompanied minor tickets. British airways offers it I remember.
Someone only needs to drop them off at the airport. The airline will look after them till they get to UK and are picked up on the other end by you or your wife.

This is correct to an extent. However, it is debatable whether this provision is absolute and will be applicable in cases where parents deliberately decided not to pay for visas for their children while they continued paying for themselves and either could have afforded to pay for the children's visas or could have stretched themselves to do so or sought a fee waiver if they genuinely could not pay.
At some point any such children's status might come to the HO's notice, either when they are registering for school somewhere or if they have to seek non-emergency treatment and the parents incur a bill or if a landlord asks for BRPs when parents move house, etc.
Remember that the general thrust of visa policy in this country is to collect money from migrants to pay for public services, so allowing people to get away with not paying for dependants visas to save themselves money would entail creating moral hazard that the HO might or might not decide to follow up on.
It is happening life and clear. Don’t be overly emotional about it. Thousands of overstayers are milking it.
I don’t support this but it is what it is. Until it is banned, it remains the mode of operation of so many people. Join immigration platforms and you would be left speechless.

You mean a 9 year old can come to UK on a visitor visa to visit me, and not return.
7 years later, I can regularise that child?
Infact, you mean a 10 year old can come on a 1 year dependant visa. Then the 10 year old gets ‘lost’ in the crowd. Then have themselves regularised when they are 17 (7years later)?
Really?
yes for those born in the UK. They can go straight for ILR.
Illegals/overstayers are using this route like mad.
It clearly says if a child is born and spent 7 years continuously.
https://www.gov.uk/apply-indefinite-leave-to-remain-private-life/eligibility#:~:text=Children%20and%20young%20adults,basis%20of%20your%20private%20life.

The kids apply for ILR o. Once the kids get the ILR, then the parents apply and begin their 10 year journey to ILR.
For those born outside they can still apply under private life and get 2 and half year visas etc.

How were you able to get around the passport details section of the application with an expired date please?
In the section where it asks for passport expiry date, I add a year after to scale through.
Then at the end of the form whee it asks for any additional comments or any space I find I write a short letter there explaining the date change in order to scale through and explain coherently to UKVI my current situation with renewing my passport in the country and I did not want to delay further with my visa application and risk becoming an overstayer. That I am making all conscious efforts to have a renewed passport but have to renew my visa so I do not become illegal. I also state that I would submit the new passport details as soon as I receive it vis a vis time frames of the Nigeria High Commission. The second time I added my passport payment receipts and form and told this in the cover letter.

But this is for Student to PSW applications right?
It will not apply to settlement (ILR) or SWV (Tier-2) visas. Right?
I have renewed my visas + family x 2 without applying for Nigerian passport when it expired as High Commission gave me so much trouble . Home office allows this so that nobody can claim they overstayed because they did not have a valid passport to apply with. As long as you are a temporary migrant inside the UK with a Brp you will be allowed. Just state your personal circumstances on your application form and go through. Whenever you receive your home country’s passport, you update the Home office with its details by filling the update form online free of charge. This is what I did.
Don’t leave your child without a visa saying you were waiting for Nigerian passport or leave yourself without visa and/or overstay saying you were waiting for Nigerian passport.

Oga one need a passport to apply for a visa, even a new born need a passport but the only exception is that you can use your expired passport to apply for visa and upload a cover letter that your new passport is under processing. Some case officer will even asked for evidence of application for a new passport
Dont be speaking on what you are not sure of.
A newborn UK born child of visa-d parents as long as inside the UK does not need a passport to apply for visa. The newborn’s parents simply fill that the only identification they have is a birth certificate and the form moves forward. UKVI will never ask a child born in the UK to go and get a passport first before applying for visa.
Like an officer of the UK immigration service would be asking you a Nigerian for evidence of your Nigerian passport application when you come to renew your visa and refuse to stay illegally?? Wow.
Maybe your own BRP carries your Nigerian passport number so UKVI will not go ahead with their visa process until you renew Nigerian passport. Wow. You guys just say anything you feel like.

The picture is clearer now. Thanks!

It makes no sense they queried his application because of the date it was issued given the fact it is an official document.
The US won't do such!
They queried it because of child trafficking. People bring in other people’s children and/or their siblings kids as maids and arrange birth certificates quoting their names as though they were the parents. If you truly delivered the child 4 years ago they feel child should have its registration done then or closer to then and not when you are about to get a visa is the point they are trying to make.
For exceptional circumstances such as this case where poster says the initial ones were lost, there must be other documentary proof to show you are truly the parents. All of these have been listed and he should provide them to the best of his abilities. The master proof remains DNA test.

Thank you so much for your insight on this.
Pregnancy pictures, birth pictures, subsequent birthday pictures, family outings, hospital appointments and letters, school fees receipts, examination report cards, pictures and everything you can lay your hand on capturing their life from when they were conceived till now will prove you are the parents in addition to a cover letter and affidavit explaining the circumstances of the case

How please because the form is asking for a valid passport. Thanks
Fill im the old passport details and then fill a date less than when it is to expire.
Secondly, go on and make payment for the new passport. You will receive the receipt and acknowledgement invoices.
In the additional information part of the form, explain that your passport has expired and you have made payment for the new one and await capturing however you need to apply for your visa.
Also add that you have attached your passport application form and receipts to your supporting documents.
As long as you are inside the UK doing this application and do the above you will not be punished for any passport problem. When you receive the new passport even after your visa is out, fill the update form for UKVI.

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with doing petty trading as there are such people here who also declare to HMRC that they are making so little profit on their business ie. Less than 1000 pounds and should not pay tax.
The onus is to prove the business exists and to provide more insight into the personal circumstances of the applicant and why they would come back
1. Reduce trip duration to 3 weeks and tie it to her coming to see her grandchild that was recently birthed. Establish a lovely up to date relationship between yourselves.. include vide or phone calls, chats, money transfers etc
You must connect the ECO to seeing how important this trip is to you
2. Provide a 6 month to 1 year bank statement to give them an idea of her TRUE circumstances.
3. Personally I would not provide a 3000 pounds statement from a family to sponsor another individual, it looks small to me. You can make it up to 5k.
4. She has a 3 bedroom flat, provide enough documentation to prove ownership and how she is in authority of this property and can not leave it and also would not manage it from abroad if she illegally stays back.
5. Her petty business, provide receipts , shop rents from 1900, pictures in the shop, pictures of outside the shop, pictures with her customers, pictures from f her going to purchase her wares and any other information to substantiate that this business building does exist.
6. Show that she is only going for a short visit and would be back because of all of the above.
7. Although your sisters are full blown adults she can still say since the death of your father herself and the girls have become inseparable and they all live together and she is still providing emotional and financial support to them. That she can not abandon them. You can look for evidence of these to add.
8. Any church, mosque or organisations she belongs to in the community? Any leadership position? Even sub market leader, provide letters from them as well as pictorial evidence where possible
9. Acknowledge the initial application and address all points on the vis refusal letter.
You can also tell them there were multiple credits during that time as maybe she had so many business purchases or a health challenge or a domestic need that was been addressed at that time.. you need to provide an explanation for what they saw as multiple accounts padding.
Lastly please read the last 3 pages and the information people were asked to provide it would help especially on BUDGET.
Write cover letters from the applicant and the sponsor to UKVI explaining each party’s side. Goodluck

Hi, thank you for the response. I totally agreed it's a poorly done app.
The bank statements we printed was for 4 month, so the total lodgement for the whole 4 month was around 330k. Which was me send money back and forth for her upkeep and feeding allowance.
How much do you think we should show as proof of sponsoring her in pounds ?
She as a strong tie to home. She as a 3 bedroom flat built for her by my late dad and she stays with my two younger sister. Both are 26 & 22 yrs old.

Please what can I do to package a strong application for her

Also, the issue is that I really don't know how to go about the self employed part cos she really do not earn a lot from what she sells.
She's a petty trader and she only accept cash.
I just want to know what to do to improve the next application.
Your help will be really appreciated

Hello everyone, My mum visit visa was just refused yesterday. I stated on the application me and wife are the one sponsoring her and we attached our bank statements with savings of £3k for her needs.
She's a petty trader though, she sell in a very small scale which I mentioned in the cover letter attached.
The money in her bank statement is mainly money I sent her every month or weekly for upkeep and other allowance.
Please we want to put in another application for her as soon as possible, if you anybody can point me to what I need to do correctly to avoid another refusal please.
We really need her to come because my wife as to resume work as her maternity leave is coming to end very soon.
Any help will be appreciated guys.
Thank you. I attached the refusal screenshot In the post.
1. Over 4 months can not work. If she gets the visa then you can think about a longer stay. Her stay on her application must significantly reduce to 1 month and below.
2. You padded her account. ECO noticed. Then self employed with 100k a year. Which is so low. Why call this self employed. So no savings. What other things does she have as ties?
3. Overall 3k pounds for extra mouth and yourselves for me is not making sense for over a 4 month period.

Please can you stop with the reapply immediately notion first and try to identify her ties to Nigeria and what will bring her back? No visa officer will grant her a visa if you go back the same way you just came. It was a poorly done app.
