Justice Nicholas Oweibo of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Friday, July 5, 2019, ordered the interim forfeiture of some pieces of jewelry and a customized gold iphone all valued at $40m belonging to Diezani Alison-Madueke, a former Minister of Petroleum Resources.

Justice Oweibo gave the order, following an ex parte application filed by EFCC. The applicant, through its lawyer, Rotimi Oyedepo, stated that the items were found and recovered from the premises of the respondent, Alison-Madueke.

The EFCC further stated that it reasonably suspected that the items were acquired with proceeds of unlawful activities.

The items are: Bangles( 419); rings (315); earrings (304); necklace (267); wristwatches(189); necklace and earrings (174); bracelet (78); brooch (77); pendants( 74); necklace(48); necklace, bracelet, earring and ring (44); necklace, earrings and rings (32); pendants and earrings (30) and necklace and bracelet (18).

The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2018 Osun State governorship election, Senator Ademola Adeleke on Friday stated that he has taken the judgement of the Supreme Court concerning the governorship election in the state in good faith.

He appreciated the leaders and members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as well as the people of Osun for supporting him all through the legal battle.

While congratulating Gboyega Oyetola on his victory, Adeleke affirmed that his ambition to be governor of Osun was never a do-or-die affair.

In a statement issued after the ruling, Adeleke said the Supreme Court remains the highest in the land.

He said “As a democrat and law-abiding citizen, I accept the ruling no matter my misgivings.

“I wish Governor Oyetola well in the governance of Osun State.”

“In all circumstances, we must thank God Almighty. We gallantly fought a good fight in pursuance of a democratic cause.

“The ideals we fought for lives on.

“Our ambition was never a do-or-die affair.

“We aspired to serve and deliver democratic dividends to the people of Osun state.

“Our ambition was altruistic.

“We wish Governor Oyetola the best in the governance of the state.”

Sarkodie has slammed the Ghanaian government over its plan to build a new parliament, which will cost about $200m.

The new Parliamentary complex is expected to have a 450 sitting capacity, house facilities including diplomatic offices, a library, a museum, a church, a mosque, eateries, press conference rooms, galleries, a car park, an upper gallery garden, and a post office. The present chamber will be converted into a conference room, as confirmed by the architect, Sir David Adjaye.

Sarkodie who however reacted to this, described it as a misplaced priority as Ghanaians are facing lots of challenges including bad roads. He also lamented that both NDC and NPP governments have failed the Ghanaian citizens.

“Politics and politicians will always be the same till the people change and become one putting this whole NDC NPP on the side and tackle issues together …If All these potholes on the motorway and other roads in Ghana causing accidents can be overlooked to raise 200mil for a chamber then yall know the kinda people we choose to be in power. Every project should target the betterment of the people first,” he wrote.

Simi who reacted to a tweet by Candace Owens, a prominent pro-Trump supporter on Nigerians being the most successful ethnic group in the United States, stated that Nigerians go outside to give the magic they can easily bring to their land because even when they try, it doesn't work.

Candace Owens in her tweets claimed that Nigerians are the most successful ethnic group in the United States, because they were not exposed to victimhood most black Democrats play. She tweeted;

Nigerian-Americans are the most successful ethnic group in the U.S! If you want to know how it’s possible that blacks who come from under-developed Africa, keep outperforming blacks from overprivileged America— it’s bc they weren’t exposed to the Democrat parasite of victimhood!

Simi in response to the tweet, said it was 'bittersweet' because Nigerians are capable of surmounting any challenge and just need an opportunity to show this. The 'Joromi' crooner also dropped an advice for those who break the law, because 'nothing' is working in the country. She wrote;

Mannnn! I just saw these tweets and it was bittersweet for me ?. Imagine the magic we could do in this country if it were conducive. If electricity was stable. If the health sector was reliable. If public education was up to standard, etc... We Nigerians go outside and give out the magic we could so easily bestow on our own land because even when u try to work it here, it doesn't work. Doctors, creatives, tech people, entrepreneurs...etc. We're capable - we just need a chance to show it.

I wish with all my heart the leaders would put Nigeria and the people first. Not their greed, nor their thirst for power. Imagine, just imagine actually making this country work and having ur children grow up proud they were born to people that care enough to make a difference for everyone - not just for themselves. Imagine foreigners being desperate to come to Nigeria because it's incredible.

Also bloggers, you need to do better men. Most Nigerians go to you for ALL of their Nigerian news and most of what you have to offer is the pain, the bad, the evil, the chaos. People come to u and practically everything u have to say is depressing. Everyone else sells their country so well, we wanna run there - but we drag our country in the mud so well, nobody sees anything good in us.

Also the people, everything has been difficult and frustrating so long, you're becoming the thing you detest. We don't even try anymore. We're just as bad. Break the law cos you can. You steal cos you can. No one understands that all we have is us. And when we lose that, we have nothing left. There'll always be stupid people - but you definitely don't have to be one of them.

Do better. Think bigger. Money, fame, power, likes, talent, traffic is not everything. It only lasts as long as people are paying attention. Do better. ??

It should however be noted that Candace Owens has been described as anti-black, even with her tweet about Nigerians. She has been accused of pitching blacks against blacks, for white politicians to have their way.

After watching @busoladakolo account, I believed her 100%. But I was advocating for proper procedures of getting justice on this matter because of reasons best known to me. Again, I was still in shock too. I admit, I still am in shock. I'm also not a fan of jungle justice or court of pubIic opinion because I suffered it in secondary school wrongfully.
But after the behaviour of the church organisation today on this matter, not just the pastor, there is no need.
It is shameful for me to call myself a member of that church. A friend said to me "his moves are like that of Pablo Escobar". I couldn't help but agree. It has taken me time, but I am finally here.

We will say it for what it is. Pastor @biodunfatoyinbo is a rapist. There is a syndicate around him that protects him, and this involves Pastor Flo of Lagos Church, Pastor Wole of PH parish, church staff, other ministers and I dare say, his wife.

I am no longer a member of that church. I call on every one who has a conscience to boycott @cozaglobal.

Thank you to every Nigerian fighting. Thank you to every celebrity using their voice. You understand that your influence is not for you. Thank you. I dream strength from your voice.

We continue to pray for him that God will touch his heart to own up to his crimes and the light of God to expose everyone involved in the syndicate.

A 30-year-old man, Segun Olawoyin, has been arrested for raping the 16-year-old daughter of his friend at Mapara Makogi, Ibafo, Ogun State.

The suspect allegedly committed the crime at the residence of the victim’s parents while they were attending a church service.

His arrest followed a report by the victim at Ibafo police station, that the suspect came to their house on the said date, at about 1:30 p.m, asking for her parents.

She stated further that having realised that her parents had gone to church, Olawoyin grabbed her and forcefully had carnal knowledge of her.

In an attempt to rescue herself, she gave the suspect serious bite, but he still had his way.

On interrogation, the suspect who confessed to being a friend to the family of the victim, claimed not to know what came over him that made him do such thing to the girl who always saw him as her brother.

She said this in a recent interview with Sunnews, when asked whether she is scared of marriage.

A lady, identified as Adewewo, has been arrested for biting off the cheek of her neighbor, Seun Ayilara, in Surulere, Lagos.

Trouble allegedly started on Sunday morning, after the husband of the victim rebuked Adewewo’s daughter and she wasn’t pleased with his move.

It was gathered that the suspect then started instigating a fight with Mr. Ayilara but he left the compound for her. However, when he eventually returned home, Adewewo confronted him with a knife and started assaulting him verbally.

Angered by her action, Mrs Ayilara moved in to caution her, but she was nearly stabbed. After successfully escaping being stabbed, the suspect pounced on her and bit off her cheek.

In recent times, the rate at which youths and adults commit suicide after suffering from prolonged depression has raised disturbing concerns among health experts and stakeholders in the health sector.

While experts are yet to proffer lasting solution to the disturbing emotional trauma and the adverse effects it exerts on its victims, plus sized Nollywood actress, Monalisa Stephen has proffered a solution.

According to the curvy actress, depressed people considering suicide as an option only need to think of two things, sex and food, and they would probably change their minds on committing suicide.

“Are you depressed and want to commit suicide? Wait a minute, just wait. Think about food and sex; oh my God, they are so sweet to just let go like that. No o, we die here o”, she suggested. Monalisa who on account of her size and physique get several overtures from the opposite sex advised men to quit seeing fat girls as sex objects.

“Some of you see fat girls and you have nothing for them but to see them as a sexual object to warm you; that’s wrong. Fat girls are just human. Do not see them as a sex object or fetish. Some of you will even come and say “send me your nude”, nude kill you there.

If you really want a woman, then love her for whom and what she is, not trying to get to her so you can experience the rubbish fantasy you have in your head. Don’t tell me you want a fat girl or you love fat girls. Good for you, it’s none of my business. I’m not your play thing, I’m just a normal girl”, she blurted.
