Yung6ix says he is presently the only rapper in the country and that no other artiste is doing rap music.

Real name Onome Onokohwomo, the artiste said 50 Cent, Jay Z, Lil Wayne and Kanye West are the foreign rappers that inspire him.

Yung6ix said “it’s a fact” that there is no rap artiste like him in Nigeria.

“I am the only rapper in the country right now,” he said during a show on Hip TV.

“I can’t see anybody doing modern day rap music apart from myself. It’s just the truth. It’s just the fact. They don’t do it like I do it.”

The rapper said being a native of the south-south region of Nigeria has been the most challenging thing for him in his career.

“Coming from south-south Nigeria has been the most challenging stuff because when people want to do anything, they keep the south-south out of it,” he said.

“When they want to give awards, they keep us out of it. First of all, which other rapper from south-south has been doing this for the past ten years?

“I had a chance because I came into the industry under the right record label.”

Young6ix, who released his first single in 2011, also commented on the rise and growing influence of the Afrobeats genre.

He said: “When we started, the industry was not on this level. We are past the point where Afrobeats is so big. We are about to conquer the world.”

When asked about his relationship status, the rapper said it “depends on my location”, adding that “sometimes, I wake up single, sometimes I don’t”.

He added: “Music is a selfish career, very, very selfish.”

The much-celebrated relationship of David ‘Davido’ Adeleke and Chioma Avril Rowland is in troubled waters, TheCable Lifestyle understands.

The lovers are said to be having incessant disagreements over alleged infidelity on the part of the superstar.

“Chioma has been complaining and they are having problems,” according to an insider in the loop of things.

TheCable Lifestyle understands that their disagreement recently reached a head when Chioma confronted the singer over allegations of impregnating yet another woman.

Before their relationship entered a rough patch, the pair was inseparable, often sharing pictures of their trips around the world.

Chioma was also known for accompanying Davido on his foreign performance engagements.

On Chioma’s 23rd birthday, Davido caused a stir on social media when he released a song titled ‘Assurance’ in homage to her.

He also generated a torrent of reactions by presenting her with a N45 million Porshe as a birthday gift. The car came with a plate number which reads ‘Assurance’.

Chioma, an economics undergraduate at Lead City University, is the latest high profile woman Davido will be involved with.

The singer has two children from his former relationships.

Ex-Big Brother Naija housemate, Leo Babarinde Dasilva, has made some revelations about the relationship he had with his late father, Leo Babarinde Dasilva Snr, who he rarely talks about.

He took to Instagram to share this:

"I always avoided speaking about my father while growing up. This wasn’t because I didn’t know who he was, in fact he never hesitated to tell me exactly who I am and who he was each and every time. One major reason I avoided it was because who he was didn’t match my reality and kids would label me a liar. My reality was never what he told me or my name, my reality at the time was my struggling single mother who gave me more than she had to make me a great man.
My father taught me two important things in life on this day

1. Do not trust or rely on anyone asides yourself.

2. Don’t ever get carried away or plan your life around promises from people.
One of my greatest regrets is still alienating him during his last months alive. But it won’t have been the first time. We had loads of arguments from 2009 - 2015 because I became too aware too quick. I believed all the family I needed was my mother so my dad and I could go an entire year without speaking.

I will give him credit for one thing which was I still believe was a huge gamble, telling me to start making my own money at 16 while I was living in another man’s country. Without him cutting me off, I would not have become a serial entrepreneur.
Long and short of this, I loved my Father very much and people close to him would know he loved me just as much. We had our differences but it was mostly because we were the same people.
