Niger State Police Command on Thursday paraded 85 suspects and 300 cows said to have been recovered from armed bandits who have been terrorizing Nigeria and other neighbouring states between June and August this year.

The suspects, who abducted the District Head of Daura (Magajin Garin Daura) in Katsina State, Alhaji Musa Umar, on the 1st of May this year, were actually arrested in Minna, the state capital and the information extracted from them led to the rescue of the traditional ruler.

State Police Commissioner Alhaji Adamu Usman, who disclosed this at the presentation of Certificates of Honour to the gallant policemen who arrested the suspects said after committing the offence some of the suspects holed up in the Bosso area of Minna metropolis where they were eventually smoked out.

“Following the arrest of the two suspects and their transfer to the Force Headquarters in Abuja, they were able to give credible information and their confessional statements led to the rescue of the District Head from Katsina State a few weeks ago,” the Police Commissioner said.

The Commissioner attributed the successes recorded by the Command’s ‘Operation Puff-Adder’ between June and August 2019 to the gallantry of men and officers of the Command hence their recognition to boost their morale.

“Two out of the eight suspects arrested in Minna were linked to the kidnap of the Katsina State District Head at the time he was still in captivity, a development that led to the transfer of the case to the Force Headquarters in Abuja, before the victim was eventually rescued unhurt.”

The suspects were not paraded at the time of arrest for security reasons, adding that, “This made some members of the public to cast aspersions on the case. But I want to tell you that two out of the eight suspects we arrested were linked to Magajin’s kidnap at the time he was still in captivity.”

The Commissioner also disclosed how operatives of the Operation Puff-Adder arrested suspected kidnappers and recovered the sum of N6 million which was one of the suspect’s share from the proceeds linked to the kidnap of the son of another monarch in Ibadan, Oyo state.

Items recovered from the suspects included N39,000, an undisclosed amount of different foreign currencies, 290 cows, 6 camels, 6 donkeys, one horse which have been transferred to Zamfara State.

Contrary to claims in public domain, the Police Commissioner said one AK047, one AK-49 rifle, one Bareta pistol and 153 live ammunitions in addition to AK-47 magazines were recovered from the house where the suspects were hiding.

The Police Commissioner assured that efforts are being made to checkmate criminals during the Sallah celebrations and solicited for the support and corporation of Nigerlites by providing useful information that would lead to the arrest of criminal elements.

Among the officers rewarded for their gallantry in fighting crime included; Chief Superintendent of Police Musa Mohammed Gambo, ASP Bala Abdullahi, ASP Baba Ahmed, Sergeant Benjamin Daniel and Saidu Ibrahim and Inspectors Bala Danladi and Yisa Adamu.

Ufuoma McDermott took to Instagram to narrate how a CCTV footage busted a friend's nanny who stole foreign currencies in her children's room.

Calling on Nigerians to install CCTV in their homes, the actress revealed that the incident occurred after her friends convereged at her house with their kids. Ufuoma McDermott further revealed that what she saw in the CCTV footages is nothing short of a calculated professional career thief, waiting to be employed into people's houses.

On Sunday, my friends and I wanted our kids to spend time together. They converged at mine. The nanny of one friend stole money from a purse and denied. She was the only adult that went into the children's room. They searched her and begged her to return it to no avail. When I returned, I calmly told them I have CCTV all over the house.

What my eye saw in those footages is nothing short of a calculated professional career thief, waiting to be employed into people's houses. She took the money from a handbag in my children's room, rushed into the toilet, sqeezed and wrapped the money in tissue, used it to dab her face so it looks worn, then placed it on my office table. She knew she would be searched. She didn't want it found on her. But she also knew that no one would suspect that used looking tissue ball sitting there in open glare. My own nannies could have been accused of this theft. The cctv saved the day.

Budding actress, Irewole Olaniyan, looks daring and adventurous. A trip to her Instagram page would also show that she has no qualms about baring a little skin. All these would make many believe that she wouldn’t consider it a big deal to act a sex scene in the movie. However, the actress ruled out. She told Sunday Scoop, “I will never act in a sex scene. The most I can do is kiss. I have shared a kiss on set but it has never been awkward.”

On which actor she would like to share a kiss with, the actress blushed and said, “There’s no one for now; except you want me to mention Korean names.”

Olaniyan also maintained that she didn’t belong to the class of actresses who use the profession as a cover to practice glorified prostitution. She added, “I can’t say about anybody else but for me, I’m into acting because it is my passion. Right from my childhood days, I’ve always seen myself as an actress. I love being in a position where I can influence other peoples’ lives positively.”

Describing her experience in the industry so far, the actress said, “I started my career in 2014 but I went on a break to focus on school. I got back into the industry in January 2019. It has been hectic but I am still pushing. I, however, thank God because I’m fine. The journey has been smooth and rough. In the early days, it was quite difficult for me to get my lines correctly. But, I have started getting my lines now and saying the right things.”

The third-year Mass Communication student of Caleb University, also confessed that she hadn’t been having it easy combining her acting career and academics she stated, “It has been really tough. I haven’t responded well but at the same time, I am still putting in my best.”

The actress stated that though her dad ‘has issues’ with her career, her mum loves it and is supportive. She also admitted that she knows the industry does not pay well, so she is involved in other businesses. According to her, “I am actually involved in a lot of things. I have a fashion line called Luxe By Ire.”

Though she often wears cloths that give an ample view of her bosom, Olaniyan said she was not intentionally flashing her boobs. “My face is the favourite part of my body, not my boobs. As for your claim that I often flaunt my boobs, I’ve never observed that. I can’t really say whether I like it or not but I’m always myself,” she said.

The Police in Lagos have commenced an investigation into the circumstances that led to the death of a business man, who died in a popular hotel, after marathon sex with a lady.

Source gathered that the incident happened at the popular Paradise Hotel located at Ikotun area of Lagos.

The identity of the lady was not known as she reportedly sneaked out of the hotel room after the man, identified as Ben, collapsed and died while they were having sex.

Source gathered that the matter became worse because the CCTV camera installed in the hotel was not functional, as such the lady could not be identified.
It was also learnt that the late married man, Ben, had told his wife that he went for a business meeting after he did some transactions in the bank not knowing that he took a lady to the hotel for sex romp.
Going by the time the deceased, Mr. Ben, checked in with the lady, the romp was said to have lasted for several hours before he reportedly collapsed and died probably due to the sex enhancing drugs, which were later found inside the room they lodged.

When the management of the hotel later realized what happened, they went to the Ikotun Police Division and reported the incident. The corpse of the married man was retrieved and deposited at the mortuary for autopsy test.

The wife of the deceased was then contacted and she alleged that her husband withdrew some money, which he was supposed to bring to the house before the incident.
However, the management of the hotel said that they did not see any money inside the room as claimed by the wife.

When source correspondent visited the hotel, the management declined to confirm what happened and how the incident took place.
However, a Police source confirmed the incident saying it was a case of homicide and the matter had been transferred to the SCIID Panti, Lagos, for further investigation. The DPO could not be reached as he was said to have gone to the Police Command in Ikeja for briefing.
