The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) just announced that the full implementation of the cashless policy will become effective from March 31, 2020.

In the circular titled: “Re: Implementation of the Cashless Policy,” that was addressed to all banks, it announced the commencement of charges on deposits in addition to already existing charges on withdrawals.

According to the circular, the charges, which take effect from today, would attract three per cent processing fees for withdrawals and two per cent processing fees for lodgements of amounts above N500,000 for individual accounts.

Reacting to the proposed development, Don Jazzy wrote, 'my dear the whole thing just reeks of a desperate move to generate revenue. When they load their own stolen money in the bank, they don’t care whatever charges they have to pay'.

Just when we thought we were done with the Toyin Abraham and Lizzy Anjorin drama, another Nollywood drama brews up.

Actress Shan George has just laid curses on actor Femi Branch over an Instagram post.

It all started a few weeks ago, when the actress went through a successful spine surgery in Abuja, after battling an ailment for months.

Branch who is also a member of the AGN took to his Instagram page to share a picture of the executives handing over an envelope to Shan George and he captioned” God bless the actorsguildnigeria for coming to the side of our dear colleague and friend @shangeorge as she recovers from her back surgery”

Reacting in the comment section George said:

“ They didn’t come to my aid sir, I’m not crying for any aid/help, It was just a show of love from the AGN president towards a colleague @chief_femibranch I know say you hate me but this is more than low. Aid ko Babiala ni, you either correct this wrong impression or just kuku delete this post. Thank You”

The actress also took to the AGN group chat to blastthe actor, while also cursing him.

Mr Wada, a Chief Prosecution witness, on Wednesday, told a Dutse Grade I Area Court in Abuja that he lost four cows when an angry farmer attacked him.

The police charged a farmer, Mr Aku, 67, who resides at Friendship street, SCC road in Bwari, with mischief by killing or maiming an animal.

Being led in evidence by Prosecution Counsel, Mrs Idowu Ojo, Wada said that the four cows died from injuries they sustained when the defendant used his cutlass on them.

He explained that each of the dead cows cost N180,000.

“I sold two surviving cows at a giveaway price of N70,000 so that I will lose out completely.

“I received a call from my son that a farmer whose farm was close to where he was herding had attacked six of my cows.

“By the time I got there, four cows were dead and the remaining two were dying. I slaughter them immediately and called someone from the meat market to buy the meat,” he said.

During cross-examination, Mr Abubakar Suleiman, the defence counsel argued that his client was not responsible for the death of the cows since the witness and his son, slaughtered the cows themselves.

He also said that the witness was not being truthful since his testimony was based on what his son told him on the phone.

Suleiman said that the witness, must at least, show the court a piece of evidence to prove that the four cows that died were killed by the defendant.

After listening to the testimonies, the presiding judge, Mr Suleiman Mohammed, adjourned further hearing in the matter until September 16.

Some irate youth had attacked South African brands in a reprisal following the recent xenophobia attack in South Africa.

Area Commander of Shangotedo, Gbolahan Olugbemi, said a total of 125 suspects have been arrested in connection with the attack on Shoprite with 90% of the stolen goods recovered.

According to the police, 112 of those arrested were found in possession of stolen items and have been charged to court.

The Alaafin of Oyo graced the occasion with one of his wives, while the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi sent goodwill messages. Former Senate Deputy president, Ibrahim Mantu, former Senate Whip, Sen. Rowland Owie, former ministers of Industry, Mrs Nike Akande, and Science and Technology, Prof. Emmanuel Emovon were also in attendance.
