The Ogun State Police Command, on Wednesday, paraded three suspects over the alleged murder of a 400 level student of the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ahmed Obisanwo.

The suspects were Idowu Ayodele (53), Segun Ogunsanwo (53) and Akeem Salisu (55).

While parading the suspects, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Bashir Makama, said four guns were recovered from the suspects, who claimed to be part of local community security group.

Makama said the trio would face murder charge before a competent court of law.

The Police boss said the suspects, earlier in the month stormed a hotel in Ijebu-Igbo, and dispossessed people of their valuables and also held two young men hostage.

Makama explained that one of those held hostage thereafter escaped from the abductors’ den while the other was so unlucky.

The CP said, “These suspects went into a hotel and ordered everyone to lie down, dispossessing them of their valuables. They held two people hostage. One of those held in hostage escaped while the other was not lucky.

” A complaint was lodged with the Police and we swung into action. This led to the arrest of these three people and recovery of weapons.

“Upon interrogation, they admitted to have killed the other young man and that his remains had been thrown into a river.

“One of them claimed to be a member of safe corps, however, his claim had been debunked. They will be made to face the full wrath of the law.”

One of the suspects, Akeem Salisu, who spoke with newsmen denied killing Obisanwo.

He said the group were commissioned by the community to arrest cultists and thugs.

Salisu added that his group usually arrest cultists and thugs in the community and handed them over to the Police.

The Police Command in Ekiti State said it had arrested two suspects for allegedly raping a victim in Omuo, Ekiti East local government area of the state.

The Commissioner of Police, Amba Asuquo gave the name of the suspects as Babalola Olaniyi and Olupina Dotun, while two others are at large.

He said the suspects stormed the residence of the victim’s boyfriend and chased him out before taking turns to rape the lady.

The CP said, “on the 21st of August, 2019 at about 19:00 hrs, a case of rape was reported at Omuo Divisional Headquarters that the victim was invited to a room by her boyfriend one Emmanuel Ayodeji, while inside the room together with her boyfriend, one Babalola Olaniyi, Olupina Dotun and two others at large forcefully entered into the room and chased out Emmanuel Ayodeji outside the room and started having unlawful canal knowledge of the victim one after the other.

” The Four of them had sexual intercourse with her without her consent, two of the suspects have been apprehended while the other two are still at large.

” The victim was taken to the hospital for medical examination where it was revealed that there was recent penetration.”

A Customary Court in Ile-Tuntun, Ibadan, on Tuesday, dissolved a 20-year-old marriage between Rofiat and Wasiu, over husband’s laziness.

Delivering judgment, Chief Henry Agbaje, the President of the court, held that any man who wants to earn respect and happiness in a marriage, must not be jobless.

He counselled spouses to learn from the story of Rofiat and Wasiu.

The arbitrator, therefore, dissolved the union in the interest of peaceful living and granted custody of the four children produced by the union to Rofiat.

Agbaje directed Wasiu to pay N8,000 as the children’s monthly feeding allowance in addition to being responsible for their education and other welfare.

Earlier, Rofiat told the court that she was no longer interested in continuing with her husband in their relationship because of his laziness and inability to take care of the family.

“I have never seen a lazy man like Wasiu before, even if there is work, my husband prefers to sleep and complain.


“In fact, people are beginning to accuse him of stealing in the neighbourhood.

“Wasiu is incapable of not only feeding us, but he also doesn’t send any of our four children to school.

“Wasiu’s relatives are aware of his laziness and they did all they could to help him, but he refused to change,” Rofiat said.

However, the respondent opposed the suit and instead prayed the court to beg his wife on his behalf.

“I promise that I will take care of Rofiat and the children from now on,” Wasiu pleaded.

John Dumelo has secured the ticket to contest for Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency in Ghana's 2020 parlimentary election on the platform of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The Ghanaian actor became an NDC flagbearer ahead of the 2020 election, following his resounding victory at the political party's parliamentary primaries on Saturday August 24. He knocked off his opponent with a huge margin.

Dumelo polled 768 votes while Afua Adoboe polled a paltry 99 votes. He is now seeking to be elected as one of the parliamentarians representing the 157 constituencies in the country.

Big Brother Naija, BBNaija housemate, Cindy has disclosed why she wants fellow housemate, Frodd, saved from this Sunday’s live eviction.

We had reported that seven BBNaija housemates including: Mike, Seyi, Mercy, Diane, Frodd, Jackie and Gedoni, have been selected for possible eviction this week.

The housemates were nominated after the ‘Cruisetopia team’ were defeated during the arena game challenge.

Elozonam, who won the veto power on Sunday, saved Venita and replaced her with Frodd from her team, ‘Cruisetopia’.

But Cindy, while speaking with Big Brother during her diary session on Tuesday night said she would want Frodd to be saved from the Sunday night eviction because she likes him and find him interesting.

“I’ve gotten to know Frodd a little bit, he’s not troublesome but defensive which is being misunderstood by housemates.

“I feel housemates do not like Frodd because they try to counter what he believes

The Ondo State Police on Monday said it has arrested three students of the School of Health Technology, Akure, who allegedly gang-raped a female student of the institution.

According to the Police, the suspects are: Aderoboye Damilola, Eyitayo Charles and Blessing Michael.

The three suspects were said to have committed the crime last week Wednesday at the residence of the boyfriend of the victim.

It was gathered that the case has been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department of the command.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, Mr. Femi Joseph, who disclosed this to our Correspondent, said the Command had begun investigation into the matter.

Joseph said, “We have commenced an investigation into the matter, and after the investigation, the suspects will be charged to court.”

A source narrated that the victim was gang-raped by the suspects in the boyfriend’s house, which is not far from the campus of the institution at Oda Road, Akure.

“The lady (victim) went to visit her boyfriend in the late evening of Wednesday, but she did not meet him at home.

“She met another boy who is a friend to her boyfriend. So, she decided to wait for her boyfriend.

“Suddenly, the three suspects entered into the room with dangerous weapons and asked the boy they met inside to have sex with the lady, but he refused.

“It was after that that they gang-raped the lady,” the source said.

Narrating her ordeal in the hands of the alleged rapists, the victim said, “I was in the room when the three of them forcefully had their way in and pounced on me.

“When they entered into the room, I was shocked and they asked me to take off my dress and to lay on the bed.

“I appealed to them to leave me alone, but they rebuffed my plea.

“They asked one of them to forcefully UnCloth me, after which the three of them raped me.

“They even threatened me that they had the video recordings of the attack and that they would upload the videos on the social media if I tell anyone.

“But I could not keep the trauma to myself and I told one of my friends in confidence.

“She reported the issue to the Police and the boys were tracked and arrested.

“I know one of them (Eyitayo), who had once asked me out on a date, but I declined his request.


“I had to speak out now because I cannot keep it to myself and I really want justice.

“Those boys really took advantage of and abused me.”

In a reaction, the Provost of the School of Health Technology, Dr. Felix Olawoye, condemned the alleged act and declared that the suspects must face the wrath of the law.

“The students have been arrested and as an institution, the law must take its rightful course, after which the school’s disciplinary committee would also present its recommendation to the political head (the Commissioner for Health).

“We don’t tolerate any form of in discipline,” he declared.

The Anambra State Police Command said it arrested 85 cult suspects and recovered dangerous weapons and other incriminating items between August 10 and 18.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, John Abang, said this on Monday, while parading the suspects before newsmen in Awka, the state capital.

Mr Abang said the suspects were arrested at various locations in the state, adding that 36 of the suspects were set free during investigation.

He said 29 suspects were still undergoing investigation, 10 under-aged placed under police supervision, while 10 were charged to court.

The police boss said some of the suspects confessed to be members of Aiye confraternity who came from different states in the South-East for initiation before they were arrested.

“From all the raids carried out, we recovered six machetes, three berets, three improvised bunkers for inhaling substances suspected to be cocaine, three axes, one dagger, one sword and some quantity of weeds suspected to be cannabis sativa,” he said.

He said the command launched an offensive against the suspects to stem the rising wave of cult activities in Awka, the state capital.

Mr Abang said in the wake of the onslaught, the command arrested four alleged sponsors and members of and Vikings confraternities.

He claimed that the four were allegedly behind the recent cult-related attacks in Awka.

He said the suspects would be arraigned at the end of the ongoing investigations.

He further said police detectives attached to the command’s Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) also arrested an armed robbery suspect with police pistol at Upper Iweka axis of Onitsha.

He said the arrest led to further arrest of five other armed robbery suspects.

Woman doctors told she might never have kids became pregnant with twins at age 41 after a one-night stand

A woman who doctors warned she might never have kids, due to a very low number of ovarian follicles, became pregnant with twins at the age of 41 after a one-night stand.

Doctors told Monica Dylan, now 42, she had a very low number of ovarian follicles, which means a big drop in fertility. She was told she might never bear kids naturally and she resigned herself to fate.

However, the retail manager defied the odds and became pregnant while on a Mediterranean cruise with pal Anita Bristol, 38. She gave birth to daughters Athena and Luna on January 7.

Speaking exclusively to Fabulous Digital, Monica said: “One night, I spent hours chatting to a man I met on the cruise - who was gorgeous and stylish - and couldn’t ignore the spark between us.

“One thing led to another and, to my surprise, we ended up having sex.

“We’d had one too many drinks - the reason we hadn’t used contraception.

“Looking back, I knew it was foolish. But, at the same time, I was thrilled when I realised I might be having a baby.”

Monica continued: “I hadn’t been home long when I started feeling funny. I felt dizzy, like I was still at sea.

“I searched my symptoms online and self-diagnosed myself with post-motion sickness, which is apparently quite normal after a cruise.

“When the queasiness didn’t subside, the possibility of being pregnant crossed my mind, but I knew that was unlikely.

“I bought a test to rule it out and was gobsmacked when I saw the second pink link appear on the stick.”

Monica explained that she always wanted kids and had split from previous partners because they didn't want kids. She thought her ex was the perfect man for her but he eventually changed his mind about having kids and they split up, leaving her devastated.

After splitting from her ex, Monica's friend Anita suggested a girls' trip to cheer her up and Monica, who still hoped to become a mum, tossed a couple of Euros into Rome's Trevi fountain and wished for a kid.

Monica said: “Anita had been talking about going on a cruise for a while and it seemed like the right time for a trip away.

“I’ve known Anita for 20 years and if anyone knows how to have a good time, it’s her. I knew I was in good hands. On the ship, we began discussing my new life plan.

“We agreed to make the most of our freedom by enjoying nights out and weekends away, travelling the world and maybe even living abroad together for a while.

“We also planned to look after each other when we were older and I decided I could simply spoil my nieces and nephews, rather than have a baby of my own.”

On one night during their vacation, the friends arranged to have dinner with two men they'd met earlier on the trip. One of the men ended up becoming the father of Monica's kids.

Monica said: “Anita nagged me to make an effort for dinner and drinks. I was happy with what I’d been wearing all day, but somehow she convinced me to dress up. It’s lucky I did.

Monica said she was shocked to discover she was pregnant. Then during her 8-week scan, she had another shock when she was told she was expecting a set of twins.

She said: “The sonographer turned the screen around. He showed me my baby and then he moved the wand slightly and said, ‘And here’s the other one.’

“I thought he was joking and my friend who had come with me burst into tears, which set the nurse off crying too.

“It quickly dawned on me that I wasn’t just going to be a mum, but a mum of twins. I was so shocked I didn’t say much until the news finally sunk in."

She continued: “When I told Anita, she screeched down the phone with excitement.

“I also told the father of the twins and he was really good about it.

“Despite us not being in a relationship, he respected my decision to go ahead with the pregnancy and said I had his full support.”

Monica was induced at 37 weeks and was rushed into theatre for an emergency C-section when one of her placentas ruptured. She welcomed her non-identical twin daughters two days before her 42nd birthday.

She said: “When I held them both in my arms, it was such a strange feeling. They were so beautiful, I couldn’t stop gazing at them.

“My daughters were the best birthday presents I could ask for.

“Becoming a mother hasn’t worked out the way I always imagined it would and I know there will be tough times ahead, especially being a single mum, but I have a lot of love to give to Athena and Luna. They are certainly keeping me on my toes.

"Life is hectic and I’m exhausted - but I’m loving life with my girls. They make me laugh all the time.

“I’m so grateful to Anita for encouraging me to make an effort that fateful night.

“Having a holiday fling was definitely out of character for me but I’m so glad it happened, I can’t imagine life without Athena and Luna.

“I wanted a child for so long and now am lucky enough to have two.”

A Sports Utility Van (SUV) driver has allegedly clubbed a tricycle rider to death with a wheel spanner during a fight over right of way in Surulere area of Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.

Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Police Command, Bala Elkana, in a statement on Tuesday said on the said day, the Surulere Police Station received a distress call from Randle Hospital Surulere, that one Aniete Bassey, a Tricycle operator was brought to the hospital with a broken head and in pool of his own blood but died on arrival.

“Information gathered by Homicide detectives revealed that, the deceased person and a yet to be identified person in a Jeep had a misunderstanding on a major road along Akerele Street, Surulere by Falolu. That during the scuffle, the driver of the Jeep brought out a wheel spanner from his car and hit the deceased person twice on the head.

“The Jeep driver drove to an unknown destination, immediately after the incident. After a thorough and painstaking examination of available traces, the Jeep driver was identified as Christian Innocent, 39 years old of No 28 James Robertson Surulere and arrested by a team of detectives led by the Divisional Police Officer, Surulere, CSP Jimoh Jabaje on 12th August, 2019.

“He confessed to have engaged the deceased person in a fight over the right of way. That there was a vulgar abuse between him and the keke rider over who among them has the right of way as they both accused each other of rough driving. But there was no crash between the Jeep and the Keke,” he said.

Elkana said the suspect would be charged to court.

Housemates of Big Brother Naija “Pepper Dem” on Monday night received a shock from Big Brother, as Ike got his second strike in the reality show. This means that he will be disqualified from the game if he gets one more strike.

Tacha, and Joe were not spared as they also got their strikes too. Mercy on her part was issued a final warning.

Big Brother gathered all the housemates to the sitting room and played videos of their acts of violence to them. Tacha was seen on two occasions getting into fights with Frodd and Joe, using strong insultive languages o them.

Ike on his part got into a fight with Seyi, where he attempted to go physical with him.

Mercy broke Big Brother’s Oppo phone out of anger, because Gedoni, a fellow housemate was taking videos of her dancing during a Saturday night party.

Big Brother, addressing the housemates, said that “it is okay to disagree with yourselves in the house, but fighting and violence is not allowed.”

He also told the housemates that “Judgment delayed is not judgement denied” reminding them that “Big Brother is always watching”
